The song that inspired me to write this story is kind of fitting to be the title of the last chapter of this book.
Read on!

Song of the Chapter: Speak Now by Taylor Swift
—————————————————–
“And what I realized when you were gone, was that I’m not a princess, and this ain’t a fairy tale, it is our love story”
Allister’s POV
This wasn’t supposed to happen. Vincent had our lives planned, even if part of that plan was me being his mistress when things go our way. But c’mon who would want to be anyone’s mistress?
Vanessa told me just last night that today is going to be the wedding and I don’t even have a clue where to go!
Apparently they changed the venue of the wedding and Vanessa is so wasted to even tell me where it was. Until now, it’s 8 o’clock in the morning, she’s still under the hypnosis of the Vodka.
“Kill me now” I groaned as I paced around the city trying to figure out where they will hold the wedding.
I fished out my phone out my pocket and tried calling Jess to see if Van is already awake
One ring.
Two rings.
But so far things aren’t going my way. Even Vincent is not answering his phone.
Figures, he’s phone might be taken away from him.
“Shit!” I cussed as I turned to another corner and still, there wasn’t a big crowd in front of the Church on 12th street.
I spun on my heel and run to the other side of the road, not even caring for my own life.
The last church in town was on the corner of 4th and 6th street. If the wedding is not being held there then I’m out of clues as to where they might be.
Run.
Pant.
Run.
Heave.
Run.
And it’s not there….
I sat down the stairs leading up the church and caught up with my breath.
It’s 9 o’clock and I still have no sign of them or the slightest idea as to where they might be.
And as to what would happen in movies in times when all hope was gone, my phone rang.
It was Jess.
“Guess who?”
“Vanessa!” I screamed in my excitement. Guess it wasn’t Jess.
See, typical movie scene. Thank God for the cliché moments of my life.
“Yes, and my next question is…” She paused before yelling. “Where the heck are you?”
I had to pull the phone away from my ear. “I searched every church in town and I still have no luck in finding them.”
She heaved a sigh. “We still have time. Where are you at?”
“At the church on the corner of 4th and 6th, why?” I said in weak voice.
“Stay where you are and we’ll pick you up.” She said as she hung the phone up. I sat down on the pavement and waited.
While waiting for them to pick me up, I thought about not having Vincent in my life.
Miserable thoughts.
He was more than a best friend to me even before we became lovers. And just the idea of not having him in my life is making me go insane. Somehow, it has been my life-long goal to see him happy and if this marriage pulls through, I think I would have failed him. And it feels like, slowly, everything we’ve put up all these years would be put into waste.
A few minutes more and finally they have arrived.
I stood up the pavement and dusted my butt off. Vanessa rolled the window down. “Let’s go!” She hollered and I was caught off guard by her voice.
Gaining my senses back, I hopped in the car and we were off without a moment too soon. I was kinda surprised to see Jess and Brandon were on the back seat.
“So where are we going exactly?” I asked with my heart thumping from either too much thinking or Vanessa’s driving skills. Maybe both. I don’t know.
“To the last place you’d look for.” She said with her eyes focused on the road.
And then I thought about it…
“The mall? School? The sewers?” I questioned, still puzzled as to where they might be.
She slapped my arm. “Ow!” I yelped.
“It’s in our house, nitwit.” She snapped.
“Oh… but why there?” I asked.
“Yeah, I’m still confused as to why they would do it there.” Jess said, scratching the back her head.
“Me too, I thought they would hold it somewhere grand.” Brandon added. “Considering Barbie doll is a spoiled brat.”
“Me three, I thought she wanted it to be an affair of the country.” I said.
“That’s was the plan, but things happened and they thought it would be wise to change the venue at the last minute.” Vanessa said, anger seething. “That girl and her family are just asking for big-time whooping!”
“But why there? I mean they could’ve gone out of the country or something. Not that I want them to though.” I asked.
“They wanted it done and over with before anyone of us can do anything about it.” Vanessa gritted her teeth.
“Wait, if they changed it because they don’t want us to do anything about it then why do you know where they will do it?” Jess asked.
She sighed. “Vincent told me during the rehearsals last night.”
Vincent told her…”But why?” I voiced out my thoughts.
“Because he thinks I can still help him.” Vanessa’s voice became low. “But I was shocked with his news that I just left him there. I felt like I couldn’t do anything for him.”
“But you did… You found me and told me just in time.” I placed a hand on her shoulder. “We’ll stop that wedding even if kills me.”
She smiled. “It’s a good thing you were in that bar last night.”
“My idea!” Jess cheered.
“Guess there’s still a chance for that ‘happily ever after’ after all.” I whispered to myself.
–
After a few stoplights and a hard halt at the Salvatore Mansion’s gate, my heart thumped harder than it did when I was running around town.
“This is it!” Jess cracked her knuckles and stretched her neck.
We heard the sound of the organ playing a soft melody.
“We got to hurry.” Vanessa said as we were met by two guards.
“Invites please.” Said Guard numero uno.
“I’m the groom’s sister.” Vanessa said.
“And I’m your mother.” Said guard numero dos and the two of them laughed at us. “No invites, no entry.”
Vanessa rolled her eyes. “Seriously! You don’t know who I am?”
“Apparently not.” Said numero uno.
And with my luck just getting better by the minute, Lorraine came by and saved our butts.
“Vanessa! Allister! Come in!” She called as she briskly walked to us.
“They don’t have invites Madame.” Numero dos said to Lorraine but she just shrugged her off.
“She’s my daughter and he’s my son’s bestfriend. They don’t need invites.” She barked at the guards.
“Mom, we brought some back up.” Vanessa pointed at the couple at the back.
“You two, come in as well.” Lorraine invited them in as well.
“But—“
“No buts. And if they get kicked out of this circus act, I’ll have your butts hung up our walls.” She told the guards. The guards shrank.
“I thought you would never come.” She said as she engulfed me in a huge hug.
I hugged back. “I would never miss this for the world.”
“Alright.” She pulled back. “So what’s the plan?”
“Plan?” I asked, perplexed.
They all smack their palms on their forehead.
Jess pointed to where the sound of an organ playing was coming from while glaring at me.
“Ohhhh, that plan!” I said, still having no plan in mind.
What am I to do! I just knew all of this last night. And with no decent sleep and breakfast, I am clueless like a guy shopping for his girlfriend’s tampons.
“May we ask everyone to please settle down? We are about to begin the ceremony in a few minutes.” Someone said from the backyard.
The music hushed and all you can hear was the murmuring of the guests.
They are about to begin…
“Alli, the backyard is still full of guards and I won’t be able to help you in there, Daniel will see us together and you’ll be forced out of the place.”
“Allister you better come up with something.” Vanessa ordered, panicking.
“That’s why you guys are here! You have to help me!” I complained, while my insides are in a riot.
Jess held me by my shoulders. “Be as dramatic as you can be! This is your last chance to have him. And if I were you, I’ll make it memorable for everyone.” She smirked.
I chuckled before agreeing with her. I kissed her on the cheek before running inside the mansion.
“What did you tell him?” I heard Vanessa ask Jess. I could just feel Jess being so proud of her self.
–
I ran up the stairs and looked at where their balcony is.
And a few more steps, I was standing at the entrance of their balcony. The wedding was just below me and I don’t know what to do still.
“Be dramatic…”
I stepped into the balcony. I took a view of the venue.
It was what you’d expect from Amanda. Lavender suits and baby pick dresses for the guests. The decorations and the detailing of the garden where in Peach and White. White roses, peach drapes, chairs covered in the same colored cloths. The pastel colors everywhere is killing me!
The air smelled like a field of flowers. The music playing around was calmingly scary.
Everything and everyone was all set.
I saw Vincent standing near the altar with no one beside him. He was in a Sky blue tux, looking as dapper as ever. His hands were in his pockets and he was still wearing that fake smile to please everyone around.
I know this was killing him more than it was killing me and I won’t forgive myself if don’t do anything right now.
That song like death march started to play and everyone began turning their heads at the house. And at first thought, I thought they were looking at me, so I crouched down. But after realizing that the music playing was the wedding march, they weren’t looking at me, they were looking at the bride’s entourage.
One by one, they entered.
The flower girl entered, spreading white petals in the cutest way she knows. In comes the ring bearer and so on.
Until it was time for the bride. Amanda was now walking down the aisle with her father beside her. She was wearing her perfectly white gown with a sparkling trail in the same pearly color.
Time is not in my favor.
“C’mon Allister. Be dramatic. Your Prince in despair needs you right now.” I talked to myself, pacing my breath.
“Still cute as ever, I see.” I turned around to the familiar voice and if it is only humanly possible to jump over the balcony without dying, I would’ve.
“How’d you know that I’m here?” I asked him.
“How would I not? I’m in charge of security after all.” Max boasted.
“So that explains the wires on your head. I thought you were just going nuts.” I bit back.
He snorted and ignored my insult. “I’m interested on how you would stop this wedding, when you’re too late. C’mon, enlighten me.”
I didn’t answer. I don’t have the answer to that yet.
“I see.” Max smirked. “Well, how about you let them live their happily ever after and we will live ours? That way you two can still see each other at our yearly reunions.” He suggested as he stepped closer.
“That would never happen. Most especially the part about me and you!” I snapped. “I’ll do anything to stop this act even if that means breaking my bones by jumping over this balcony.”
“How cute.” He deadpanned. “Now, let me escort you out before you do make a scene.”
“…make a scene.”
“Be dramatic…make a scene.”
Damn I was slow!
“That’s it!” I cheered, making Max take a step back.
That was my cue to make my move. My only move.
“STOP THE WEDDING!” I shouted from the balcony.
Very original Allister, very original indeed. Still it did the trick.
Everyone turned around and looked up to where I was. All eyes were on me. But my eyes were only set to the only guy in the room.
There were a lot of them, but you know I meant Vincent.
“Vincent! Are you really doing this? I mean c’mon! With this theme?!” I mocked.
“Hey!” Amanda took offense.
Vincent chuckled before taking a step forward. Amanda held onto his arm.
People started whispering to one another.
“If you are gonna do this, you should’ve told me, I could’ve gotten you out of here in a breeze. Not like this with all this hassle.” I continued. “I know that I said before that it was fine, if I become your mistress. But really, who wants to be someone’s mistress?”
Vincent was listening intently as with the crowd. Amanda was panicking on where she was standing.
“Dad! Do something!” She cried.
“Vincent, you are the best thing that’s ever been mine. I see sparks fly whenever you smile at me. She may be wearing short skirts while I wear t-shirts, she may be cheer captain while I’m on the bleachers but I’m the one who understands you, I have been here all along, and I know you belong with me. I know that you know I’m not the type of guy who rudely barges in on a white veil occasion and I know you are not the type of guy who should be marrying the wrong one. And what I realized when you were gone, was that I’m not a princess, and this ain’t a fairy tale, it is our love story.” I gave my heart out and my Taylor Swift references all in to one big speech.
Vincent smiled and I saw some of the guest chuckled. Vincent lightly clapped his hands.
I winked at him.
“So I am here, on your dreaded day, I mean wedding day to get you away from this hell hole and ask you in front of everyone here. Will you Vincent Salvatore, marry me and run away with me?” I smiled at him, the way he smiled at me. “What do you say?”
“Of course not!” Amanda yelled. “You are not gonna ruin this day for me! We are going to be wed, and that is final!” She ranted. “Guards!”
Vincent still has his eyes on me and I know what he’s thinking.
“I’m impressed with your speech Allister.” Max spoke as I faced him. “But I’m afraid that isn’t going to cut it.” He said as he grabbed me away from the balcony and handed me to the guards.
I tried pulling myself out of their hold. “It’s over Max.”
“Then I will execute my own plan! Take you away from this place!” He snarled.
“Yes!” Vincent’s voice boomed and the guest cheered which was weird considering some were the guests of the Laurentis’. Maybe they hated the family as much as we do.
We all turned back around at the altar. And when he saw what was happening, he ran away from the altar.
With the guards startled by the sudden uproar, I made a run for myself.
“After him, you nitwits!” Max ordered.
I ran to the main door. And right on cue, he was there standing on the front door.
He smiled at me. “Yes. Yes I will marry you!” He said as he hugged me tightly. “I thought you would never come.”
“Me too.” I whispered.
We heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
“We’ll continue this later.” And there we ran away hand in hand. No more stopping us now.
We ran to the car waiting for us outside. “Faster bitches!” Vanessa cheered as she honked her horn.
We hopped in and drove away from what we thought was the end. We all took a deep sigh. Finally the chase was over. He was with me and I was with him.
“So Taylor Swift…” He opened.
I slapped his arm. “Oh shut it! Do you know how hard it is to compose that speech on the spot?”
“No, not really.” He arrogantly said then he smiled and placed a kiss on my lips. It made me smile as well. It was so comforting to finally have him back and now for good.
“Yuck!” Jess faked a barf. I jerked her on the rib and she just laughed.
“Vinny, you know that dad is going to have a cow after what you did?”
“Right, and I don’t care. If he’s gonna take this out on us, then he should bring his whole army with him, because I’m willing to risk it all for my husband.” His eyes were on me all the time and it just made me blush.
I’m still getting used to him calling me his boyfriend, and now I’m his husband.
“Then know that you have us to back you up!” Vanessa assured us.
“I wouldn’t count on that.” I joked. “They left me there alone.” I laughed.
“Hey we got you there and out of there just on time, so don’t go saying we left you alone!” Jess quipped.
“I was just kidding, Jess!” I defended.
“Alright, so where are we headed?” Vincent asked.
“Well, we weren’t there with you Allister because we wanted you to have your own moment, but also because we arranged a little wedding gift for you two.” Brandon said.
“What gift?” I asked. “And weren’t officially wed yet.”
What are these guys up to now?
“Don’t be a sour puss!” Jess said.
“A honeymoon of course!” Vanessa answered, despite our bantering.
“And that’s how sure we are that you two will end up together.” Jess confidently said.
“Whoa! Thanks guys!” Vincent said, excited about what was happening. While I was rendered speechless, but don’t get me wrong. I was just overwhelmed I guess.
“We ain’t chopped liver, so we’re just doing our jobs contrary to what someone here who thinks we didn’t do anything.” Jess is at it again with her guilt trips.
“I’m sorry! Okay? I was kidding! It was a joke!” I ranted at her yet I smiled at her.
She just coyly smiled.
–
“Alright we are here.” Vanessa said as she parked the car in front of the hotel.
The sign reads “El Grande Hotel”
“How did you guys even pay for this? This place is even on the next city.”
“Millionaire’s daughter, plus Coffee shop owner, plus daughter of a Bar owner, add that and you got yourself an answer.” Jess answered as she crossed her arms arrogantly across her big chest. “And if you guys need anything, charge it on us.
“So we’ll just leave you guys here and hope that you guys will have a good night together.” Brandon said as he pulled out a small luggage from the back of the car. A familiar one as well.
It was my luggage and I’d like to think they had packed me some clean clothes in there before picking me up.
“Thanks dude!” Vinny said before they did that hand-clasping-before-chest-bumping thing guys do.
“No problem, and I got your shift covered for the whole week.” Brandon added.
“Sweet!” He cheered even more.
“Go on now! Enjoy yourselves, relax, and make some babies!” Van pushed us inside and then they bolted off before we could say our goodbyes.
We just waved at them goodbye as they were gone so fast.
“So are you ready for some intense loving?” Vincent teased.
“From now ’til death do us part, I’ll be forever ready for you, Mr. Salvatore!” I teased back. “Carry me!” I said before he scooped me up my feet. “That’s more like it.”
“Forever the cheesy movie character, Mr. Parker-Salvatore.” He commented.
I liked the sound of that… Parker-Salvatore.
I laughed. “Says the Runaway groom.”
“You know, I’ll do this every day, if the end result would still be like this.” He said before kissing me on the lips.
And with that we entered the hotel.
I know running away won’t solve anything. Tomorrow, everything will be dealt with. But for now this will be our solution, running away from all of the craziness that was happening in Ashton.
