In as much as I don’t want this story to be dramatic, I need to make some drama. It can’t be all about love and fluff.

Besides, TRG is coming to a close.

Featured Character: Allister

Song of the Chapter: One last time by Ariana Grande

“Everything that is happening right now, was bound to happen. But you came to our lives and you gave him hope. You are his saving grace.”

Vincent’s POV

Another week had passed and we haven’t heard from Twiddledee and Twiddledum. Not until last night…

It was 4 o’clock in the morning and for the same reason, I got up of our bed.

I couldn’t sleep anymore.

I suddenly felt uneasy. It’s like a sudden surge of anxiety came over me.

It was that text I received from my dad last night, right before we got to bed, that kept on bothering me.

“If you don’t want anything to happen to Allister, continue with the wedding or I’ll do everything in my power to destroy him. No more games Vincent. Consider this my final warning.”

“Hey, are you okay?” He asked. “Is something bothering you again?”

“I’m fine.” I replied. “Just go back to sleep.”

He sat up right next to me. “I won’t until you do.” He said as his arms were wrapped around me.

“Allister…”

“Yes?”

“What will you do if they come and break us apart again?” I asked, trying to clear my mind. The voices in my head are constantly telling me to leave him and save him.

Was this even the right thing to do?

“I’ll follow your lead.” He answered. “Like I always do.”

I have to ask him.

“What if I don’t do anything?”

He didn’t answer.

“What if I just let go?”

“What are you trying to say?” He asked as he lets go of me.

I turned to face him. “Alli… Allibear, I don’t know what to do anymore.”

The urge to stay with him is greater than to save him but what if my want is never what he deserves.

He’s been through a lot as well in this relationship and I can’t let him be the collateral damage for my decisions.

I have to do what is right. I felt a tear slip passed my eye.

“Why? What happened?”

I have to tell him.

“They got me on a chokehold.” I told him. “They will destroy you and everything we have if I do anything to resist the wedding. They know our plan. I think Max and her sister laid out theirs.”

He was silent again.

“My dad will destroy you. I don’t know how…but I won’t risk you to be in the crossfire between me and my dad.” I told him as I held him in my hands.

I just have to do it.

“Alli, I don’t want to do this but we have to…” I stopped as I saw him backing up.

“Don’t say it. I don’t want to hear it.” He said with his voice cracking and his eyes welling up. “Go if you need to, just don’t say it.”

“Allister.”

“Go!” He ordered, rubbing his hand over his arms while trying to hold back the tears in his eyes. “I rather save what will be left of us than to risk it all for nothing.”

“I don’t want this to happen… I just want you safe.” I said trying to get near him but he kept moving back.

“I know…” He stopped. His voice was so weak.

“I’ll figure something out. But for now, this is what I think is best.”

“Let us at least make this moment last a little longer.” He said in the verge of breaking.

I closed the gap between us and laid my lips on his.

He obliged willingly.

I hovered over him and removed every piece of cloth between our bodies.

Pelt of kisses over his body.

Hands moved all over our bodies, trailing every inch.

Moans echoed in the room.

Time was spent on our undying love.

“I’ll figure something out of this, promise.” I said before stepping out his apartment.

He just nodded, avoiding my eyes.

“I love you, you know that?” I asked as I raised his chin up and made him look at me.

He nodded again before replying. “I love you too.”

I forced a smile, to make it seem that everything is fine, before I placed a kiss on his lips.

“You know you can still be my mistress, right?”

He curved the side of his lips with a bit of amusement before nodding. “Just promise me you’ll comeback.”

“I will. Always. Okay?”

“Okay.” He said as he engulfed me in another hug. And as we let go I headed out and closed the door without another word spoken between us.

I don’t think there will be another chance to rewrite our story. Edit it in a way where there are no hindrances in our love.

I won’t give up. I’ll think of a way for us to have our happy ending.

Yesterday…

Max’s POV

Do they even think they’ll have the last laugh at this? HA! No way in hell I’ll let that happen.

Their piece of honeymoon is already over. Now is my turn to get a taste of what is supposed to be mine.

If I can’t talk them out of it, then I’ll have to separate them by force.

“Good morning.” I said as I approached the secretary of Vincent’s dad.

“Yes, how may I help you sir?” She said with a smile as her eyes were still glued to the computer screen.

“Is Mr. Salvatore in? I need to speak with him.” I asked and that caught her attention and looked at me.

Her eyes almost popped out of her head in surprise.

“Mr. Laurentis, I didn’t know that it was you. I’ll let him know that you’re here.” She said as stood up and rushed to the office of his boss.

Man it’s nice to be rich and powerful.

She came back with a nervous grin on her face. “You may now speak with Mr. Salvatore.”

“Thanks.” I said as I walked pass her.

I don’t want to do this to you Allister, nor am I this kind of person, but you left me with no choice.

“Maxwell.” Mr. Salvatore greeted. “What brings you to my office?” he stood up and buttoned his coat before walking to my direction.  He laid out a hand for a handshake.

I took his hand and shook it. “I’m here to talk to you about your son.”

“What about him?” He cocked a brow as he released his grip.

“Does Allister Parker ring any bell to you?” I said as I walk around the room.

His fascination turned in to glints of anger. He was trying to hold his emotions down.

“What about Allister and Vincent should I know about?” He gritted his teeth.

“Don’t play dumb Mr. Salvatore.” I growled. He was startled with my voice. “I’m sorry for my tone.”

“It’s fine but can you be perfectly clear about what my son’s recent activities? It seems that you know something I should know.” His tone was a mixture of anger and concern.

“They are still playing this game at us. Your son is still with Allister.”

His eyes shot open at the last sentence. “Why didn’t Amanda say anything to me?”

“In as much as we were both educated. She wasn’t the sharpest Laurentis. She is blinded by her love for Vincent.” I said, nonchalantly.

He was, I guess, out of words with what he knew about his son.

As I was walking around the room, I saw there was a picture of their family among the few ornaments in his office.

I picked it up as I looked at it. Vincent was still young in the picture and so was everyone else. “This was taken a few years back, I presume.” The picture looked slight crumpled up.

“Our family wasn’t as peachy as the Brady’s.” He said. “Nor was it as well off like the Laurentis’s.”

That captured my attention. The envy in his tone. The need to provide not only wealth but also happiness was pretty evident in his motives, but with wealth outweighing the happiness. Also the tinges of regret seeped its way through his words.

“Let’s say I have a perfectly laid out plan for our little predicament.” I said as I placed the frame down and faced him.

“I’m listening.”

“Money isn’t the most important thing for Vincent.” I opened. “Allister is.”

“You want Allister out of the picture, is that it?” He said as if it was a statement. “Consider it done.”

“On the contrary, I don’t want him gone. Rather I want him to be mine.” I smirked. “Leave him in one piece for me.”

“Figures why you are more concerned about this than your sister.” He chuckled. “Whatever it takes to make this wedding and merger to pull through, I’m all for it.” He assured me with a devilish grin.

I nodded. “Well, I guess it’s settled.” I offered a handshake.” I’ll be on my way then, I know a guy like you has a lot of things to do.”

He smiled as he shook my hand. “Thanks for the heads up Maxwell. Tell your father that I’m looking forward for the rehearsal dinner.”

“Don’t you mean the contract signing?” I raised a brow at him as small curve can’t help but form on my lips.

“That is what I meant.” He laughed. “Vincent will see it my way sooner or later.”

“Oh, before I forget. Allister owns a small baking business. You might wanna check up on that” I said as I head out his office.

Plan B is in action.

I just have to inject the poison in and wait until it takes its toll on both of them.

“Hey Vince, wanna give you a heads up. Your dad and I just talked and he wasn’t very happy about what I told him. I’m just a bit concerned about Allister is all. Have a good day. I know I will.”

SENT

Oh I can smell their relationship rotting already.

Allister will come crawling back to me one way or another.

Present day…

Alli’s POV

Just when I thought everything was peachy keen, things shattered like glass in an instant.

I’m sitting here alone in my apartment, not knowing what I’ll do to get him back or to get anyone back. It’s happening all over again…

A little unknown fact to anyone, except to those closest to me, my parents and I aren’t in speaking terms as soon as they knew about me being gay. Mom was cool with it but my dad, well, he disowned me like our pet cat, Cuddles. So I left right after high school. Lived in a dorm before moving into where I am now.

Vincent never knew the real reason why because I thought he might do the same. So I kept it from him and instead I told him that it was something personal but still he was there for me.

I’ve already accepted the fact that my dad will never forgive me nor will I ever see my mom again. Heck, I don’t even know where they live now. From what I’ve heard they moved to another city when I tried visiting them after they didn’t show up in my graduation.

It hurts like a little fucker, but I became numbed to that particular pain.

Why am I telling you this just now? Well, because this, right now, felt like it was the same thing. Losing people that matters to you so much while not knowing if they’ll come back or if you made the right decision of just letting go.

I don’t even know what they texted Vincent, but I like to think that it was something serious for him to not let me be involved in all of this.

It’s hard to convince yourself of something you are not sure of. There are times you doubt if he was really telling you the truth and just believe all the things your playful mind wanders on to.

Three days had passed and not a single call or text. Was this really happening again? I mean what kind of movie am I in? Usually in the movies, things like this only happen once.

I guess, maybe I should stop thinking that our love story will be like those in the movies or in those romance novels. Maybe it is just plain old boring life trying to play with our hearts. Maybe Vincent and I were never bound to have a happy ending.

“You know Allister, moping and eating cereal all day is no good for you.” Jess said as she watches me with amusement. “But I must admit I can watch you all day long, you are kind of entertaining me with your sudden monologues and choking on your cereal.”

“What am I to do? I kept messing up my client’s orders and not hearing from him ain’t helping either. Plus my bills are due by the end of this month or else I’ll say ta-ta to all of what I’ve worked for for years.” I heaved a huge sigh before slumping back on the couch and continued munching on my bowl of Capt. Crunch.

“Well maybe, you could stand up, move on and… oh you know…” She hummed before continuing. “Gain some common sense.” She drawled. “I know he was the first guy who you loved and probably have sex with. But there are so many guys out there who will love you the same without having all this complications.”

She sat down beside me. “Vincent is my friend too. And as much as I want you guys to end up together, there are just some things in this life that we need to experience just to be better.” She added as she cradled me in her arms.

“I know.” I sobbed. “I just never taught that I’d feel this pain again.”

“Parents?”

“Yup, and that little fucker came back with a vengeance.” I chuckled through the sobs before placing the bowl on the center table.

“I know how to get rid of that little fucker.” She said.

I gave her a questioning look.

“By drowning it with vodka of course.” She cheered.

I can’t help but huff out air and roll my eyes. “Seriously Jess, alcohol never solves anything for me. If there is one thing alcohol gives me, it’s a massive hangover in the morning.”

“Oh c’mon sour tape, you haven’t gone out since you guys hooked up and I felt like chopped liver after that.” She urged while shaking the daylights out of me.

“Just this once and we will go home early, you got me?” I wagered.

“Early as in…”

“As in 10pm.”

“What? But that’s when fun is just starting.” She whined. “And besides all the good-looking guys come by at around 11-ish.” Her brows danced. “How about 1am?”

“12am tops.”

“12:30”

“12. it’s that or you’ll have to go alone.”

She sighed. “Fine but you got to promise me that you’ll at least try to have fun.”

My turn to sigh. “Okay.”

The loud booming sounds of the bass echoed through the room.

The laser lights dancing and flickering all around the place.

The smoke covering the entire dance floor.

I haven’t been to a place like this for a long long time.

“Here, drink this!” Jess offered as she twerked.

“Really Jess? Twerking? Since when did you become friends with Nicki and Miley?” I quipped as I grabbed one of the shot glasses she was holding.

“Since you left me for dead.” She bit back.

“Touché. And for the record, I just didn’t know it was that long since we last went out.” I took the shot.

She just rolled her eyes before taking the shot.

We were practically yelling at each other because of the loud yet body-grooving music.

“Yeah, I almost forgot how you looked.” She retorted. “Kidding aside, I really did miss hanging out with my gay bud.”

“Same as I missed hanging out with my only girl.” I chuckled as I placed an arm around her waist and pulled her in.

“Oh, someone is turning straight.” A familiar voice said through the music.

Jess and I turned around to see who it was and it was so surprising to her in a place like this.

“Van! What are you doing here?” I quickly hugged her.

As we released each other, the two girls made that cheek-bump thing.

“Well I couldn’t stomach the things happening with my family now.” She said with viciousness in her voice.

“Why what happened?” Jess asked.

“Well, for one, Vincent is a total wreck and my dad egging on him isn’t helping either.” She seethed, not at us, probably aimed at her dad.

“Vincent… There is a lot I need to ask you and a lot of things I need to say to you…”

“Maybe we could sit down where there is less noise.” Jess suggested as she pulled us out of the noisy mob of hazy-drunk teenagers.

We squeezed in the crowd as we head for the second floor, and apparently the music isn’t as loud here than it was downstairs.

“Continue please.” Jess said as we sat down.

“Second one, the rehearsal dinner a.k.a. the merger that is happening tonight. And as much as I want to be there with my brother I can’t help but die inside as I saw him there with sleepless eyes and a forced smile.” Her voice broke down many times in the sentence.

There is one thing I’ve wanted to know. “Van.”

She looked at me but didn’t utter a single word, so I continued. “Do you know why he suddenly broke up with me?”

She snorted. “Alli, he was trying to protect you.”

“Protect me?”

“Yes, protect you from my ruthless father and his heartless accomplices.” She said as she swirled the brandy in her glass,

“I still don’t get it.”

“My dad was aiming to destroy you in particular. Not Vincent or your relationship with him. And him knowing that threatening to hurt you would make Vincent exchange his liberty for your safety.” She explained before gulping the contents of her glass.

“Damn your dad is all for the money, huh?” Jess said in disbelief.

Van nodded to her discontent.

I, on the other hand, couldn’t help but feel guilty with all of what’s happening to Vincent.

“Jess, you’re right after all.”

“What do you mean?”

“About Vincent and I. We aren’t the perfect fit for each other. It’s like when we are together, we are like magnets to these kinds of situation.” I stared at the empty shot glasses on our table.

“Allister you know for a fact that that isn’t true.” Vanessa snapped. “Everything that is happening right now, was bound to happen. But you came to our lives and you gave him hope. You are his saving grace.” She poked my chest as she said the last part. Drunk as she may be, but she made more sense than my sober brain.

“I maybe a bit tipsy, but all I said was true.” She added in a drunken slur.

“She’s right Alli. I may be right for what I said, but that doesn’t really apply to you guys. Your case is different.” Jess patted my back.

“One last thing Alli.” Van slurred. “The wedding is tomorrow.”

“What?!” I growled.

I felt a sudden rush of heat covering my body. “I thought it was for another week.”

“Apparently they were rushing for the merger to happen.” Vanessa said before blacking out.

Jess and I smacked our palms on our foreheads.

I have to do something. At least try to do something to stop this from happening.

I wish time would’ve froze so I can have time to think on how to get him back.

“Alli, I’ll take care of Vanessa here, I’ll call Brandon to come pick us up.” Jess said. “You go and get your man.”

“Okay… wait, did you say, Brandon? Vincent’s boss, Brandon?” I couldn’t let this thing pass.

“Yes we are going out. You would’ve known if we were hanging out.” She said with a cocked brow.

“Would you just let that go?” I chuckled. “We have a lot to talk about.”

“I know, but for now twinkle toes, go get your man!” She gave me a wink and that was my cue to exit.

I hailed a cab and got to my apartment.

If I was the reason for him to agree, I’ll make myself the reason for him to disagree again.

I don’t care if I have to cross the whole world by foot just to have him back, I’ll do it twice.

I know one thing is for sure, I’ll be his saving grace even if it means risking everything we have.

And I wouldn’t let myself be the mistress.

—————————————————————

How’d you like it? Tell me!

The wedding is going to happen in the next chapter in both our lovers POV.

In as much as I want to lengthen this story, I couldn’t ‘cause the plot wouldn’t allow me.

So next chapter will be the ending and I know it was kinda sudden because before writing this particular chapter, I had a lot of ideas for filler chapters, but then I thought I would be going circles with what’s happening. I saw my notes about my original plot and I would be steering it in the wrong way if I added more fillers.

And I apologize if the scenes felt like they were in a rush, because like I said I don’t to go any further away from the plot. Still I hope that you would still hang on for 2 more chapters of TRG. (The Wedding and the Epilogue.)

See you next chapter. :*
