“You’re going to be late for school” Harris and Tan stand against the wall kissing as Tan grinds against Harris
“Then we should probably leave, right?” They agree but no one moves
Their kissing gets interrupted when Harris’s cell phone rings “it’s the office shh” he quiets Tan, and Tan continues to kiss his neck and massage his front with Harris’s front. “Hello-” he looks at Tan surprised “good morning Scott!” Tan’s jaw drops when Harris says his father’s name “no this isn’t a bad time I was just finishing up getting ready to leave.” Tan’s father talks and Harris does his best to focus, but it’s so hard when Tan is just kissing and biting his neck and ear, making it difficult for Harris to even stand. “Yes I can stop and pick them up on my way” he listens “no problem see you at the office” then hangs up.
“Oh my god that was my dad!” Tan laughs
“That was your dad” Harris panics putting the phone back in his jacket pocket, “we need to leave now if you want to be on time for school” Harris walks away leaving Tan against the wall. After putting his shoes on Tan grabs his jacket and bag following Harris to the elevator down to his car.
Harris drives keeping his eyes on the road and not Tan “are you mad at me?” Tan asks unable to stand the silence
“No”
“Yes you are, I’m sorry I didn’t stop kissing you after you said his name I won’t do that again.” The first chance Tan got to prove he’d be mature about this he blows it
“What happens when we’re both at the office and your father asks you to go to my office to leave him alone? Nothing that happened between us can ever happen there and I don’t think you know that” Harris drives tense trying not to get mad.
Reaching over Tan places his hand on Harris’s face to calm him down, and Harris shuts his eyes reacting to how good Tan’s touch feels. “I’m sorry” Tan apologizes to the man
Harris breathes calming himself “no I’m sorry I shouldn’t talk to you that way”
“No you’re right, I have to put more thought into this.” Sitting straight with both hands in his lap, Tan starts “I promise to never touch you in public unless you allow it of course-” he smiles at Harris, “no flirting at the office or anywhere we’re both in my father’s sight. No innuendos, and most importantly I promise never to tell a soul.” Tan hopes Harris trusts him
“Thank you Tanner” Harris reaches out taking Tan’s hand “this isn’t going to be easy but I trust you, ok?”
“Ok.” The conversation changes “so it’s probably a bad idea to talk to my dad now isn’t it?”
“I’ll try to bring it up to him without mentioning you were over last night”
“No, you don’t have to”
“I want to” he turns to look at Tan “I meant what I said yesterday” they smile at each other. “Would you want to grab lunch later?”
“Yeah I’d love to, I’m free at 12:30”
“Okay I’ll pick you up and we go for a drive?”
“Sounds good.” Harris reaches Tan’s school and parks a street away “I’ll call you.”
“See you soon” Tan shuts the door and they wave to each other before Harris pulls away.
Walking into school with everyone else, Tan goes to his locker which is right next to his friend Lin “Linda Chamberlain” he calls her name as he walks up behind her.
“Tanner Milton” she turns to him smiling and sees him coming towards her very happy and excited “wow you’re in a good mood, what’s going on?”
“Nothing” he tries to hide it as he opens his locker
“Tan you’re hiding something and I need you to spill it!”
Tan knows better than to tell the truth “I met someone” it’s not a complete lie
“I KNEW IT! Who is he? Where’d you meet him?”
“He’s no one and I met him nowhere”
“Ok fine don’t tell me… but I should warn you like ten minutes ago Sven was over here looking for you.”
“Seriously?” Tan quickly shuts his locker “why didn’t you lead with that?!” Sven Beck is Tan’s crush, he’s been in love with him since the 9th grade, and although Sven’s never made a move they’ve always been good friends. “I’m gonna go find him, how do I look?”
“Like you met a new guy” Lin makes fun of him
“Crap” Tan whispers completely forgetting Harris’s name as soon as Lin mentioned Sven. “Doesn’t mean I can’t talk to Sven, we’re just friends”
“Says the guy who’s been trying to have sex with him all year!”
“Well, that was then!” Tan starts to walk away “this is a new day Lin, all I want to do is talk to him” he leaves her behind. Walking to the workout room where all the jocks workout before school, Tan spots Sven in the back shirtless lifting weights.
Walking to him Sven sees Tan coming and smiles as he continues to lift his “hey Tan”
“Hey” Tan tries to stay at eye level with the half-naked boy with the beautiful glistening chest. Stopping when he gets to Sven “heard you were looking for me?”
“Yeah I needed to ask for a favor”
Tan gets excited “I’m all ears”
“Want to walk and talk? I think we have time before class starts”
“Sure” Sven drops his weights ready for them to leave but Tan looks at him confused “don’t you want to put a shirt on?”
“Nah I’m good I’m probably gonna finish my workout after so…”
Tan knows it’s going to be hard to focus walking with Sven shirtless “all right let’s go.” As they’re walking side by side down the hall Tan starts “so what can I do for you?”
“Ok, so I know you’re head of the yearbook committee”
“That I am”
“And I was wondering if instead of a half page maybe I could get a full page?” Sven smiles shinning his pearly whites at Tan “I know it’s a big favor to ask and JV captains don’t get full pages but-“
“Done.”
Sven stops walking “seriously that’s it?”
“I mean no I’m gonna have to talk to everyone else about it, but I’m pretty sure we have more pages to fill so I can just throw your name in.”
Getting excited Sven hugs him causing Tan to melt in his arms “you’re the best Tan! I knew you’d come through for me”
“Yep, that’s what I do” Sven let’s go leaving Tan in his trance. Making his way back to reality Tan asks “so why do you need a full page?”
“Well I don’t know if you know this but coach picked me to play with the varsity team for next Friday’s championship, and there’s gonna be scouts there with college scholarships. I figure if they see the captain of the JV team playing with the varsity and have a full page in the yearbook, someone’s gonna have to give me a scholarship.”
“Smart plan” they continue to walk “but do you really think scouts are gonna look at our yearbook?”
“Coach said they do”
“All right. Doesn’t make any sense that you’re as good as everyone else on the basketball team but your on JV, but I’ll do it”
Sven chuckles “coach asked someone to be captain of JV and no one wanted to do it because they were so bad, so I said I would.” Tan thinks about how much of a nice guy he is and smiles “what?” Sven asks noticing
“Nothing I-“
“MR. BECK?” As the boys are walking they hear their principal behind them
“Yes, Principal Taylor?” Sven turns around
“Why are you shirtless in my hallway?” She gets closer to them
“I’m on my way right now to put one on” Sven smiles lying to her
“Well, the locker room is back that way” she points behind her. “I don’t want to see you shirtless in my hallway again. Good morning Tanner” she turns to Tan then keeps walking
“Morning Principal Taylor” Tan replies to her back as she walks away.
They stop walking and turn to each other “guess I’m going back to my workout, thanks again for the page I owe you”
“No problem, I mean why the hell else would I join yearbook committee if not to give Sven Beck a page when he asks for it?”
He laughs “I’ll see you later, Tan”
Tan watches as the perfect specimen walks away from him. he gets a text as he watches Sven walk away ‘Can’t wait to see you’ from Harris “well maybe second perfect” Tan is reminded of what he did the night before.
