Chapter 9
Love?
~{</>}~Eden~{<\>}~
It was really dark, all I could see was… Black. Which was weird… Why am I seeing darkness again? What the hell is going on?
I tried to open my eyes, but all I could do was mentally wade in this pool of blackness. I saw a light to my right, and headed there. Finding myself in a house… In the middle of a forest?
“Hello?” I called, no one answered. I walked around and found myself walking towards a staircase, when he began screaming his head off.
GO DOWNSTAIRS, DO NOT GO UP, he yelled like a maniac, giving me a headache.
“Shut up,” I said, finally getting over his rude and annoying demanding shit and choosing my own decision for once.
I looked at the stairs going up and going down. The one going up gave me a feeling of uncertainty and a feeling unknown to me, whilst the one going down gave me a sense of security but loneliness.
“Up,” I decided, having to find out what was up there as he raged on about how stupid I was.
I got fed up with his annoying whining and stopped midway up the stairs, “WOULD YOU JUST SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH?!”
He silenced himself, muttering curse words here and there as I trudged up the stairs that seemed to last forever.
I saw a light shining from the next bend and ran up to see where it would lead me to. It was a door.
The door was… I would say wooden, but it seemed like a light in the dark, a saviour from destruction. It almost seemed to have glowed when I touched it, pushing it open as he whimpered.
Light burst through the door, making me realize how dark my dream world had actually been, it washed over me, filling me with warmness.
“Wow,” was all I said as I walked into the amazing structure the door led me to. It was like a palace, but shrunken down into a mansion. It looked amazing. Circular driveway with a small grassy island type of structure in the center with trees and flowers. Fountains on either sides with marble pillars holding a large porch structure on the front entrance. Large spruce trees arose on either side of the house leading back to the doorway here, making it seem like it was a circle of renewal and life.
I walked forward, before a guy walked out of the house. He looked like he was 16, but his face made me know he was at least 20.
He looked at me surprised that someone was here at all, “Um, hi.”
I waved, unable to speak, behind him I could see an array of colours forming to make large wings. I stepped forward and he smiled awkwardly.
“I’m Azure,” he said standing taller to make his posture better, knowing that I was company.
“Eden, where are we?” I asked, still in awe of the area we were in. It was a magnificent sight to behold. Wonder how he could afford it?
“We’re in… Um, somewhere, I… I forgot,” he said, blinking in confusion, “I just know that I’m not a real person.”
I looked at him with raised eyebrows, “Real person?”
“Nope, I’m a figure of someone’s split mind,” he admitted, looking at the ground sadly.
“Oh, then who’s the other part?” I asked, starting to realize he was part of my mind.
“That would be me,” a girl said walking forward… Hey her voice is kinda familiar-
“Yes, I’m the one who was talking to you Eden,” she said, “I’m Auburn.”
“… What?” I said… I was beginning to piece it all together, clenching my fist tightly as I stomped towards Auburn and slapped her.
“You bitch!” I yelled in anger, knowing that she was the one keeping me from everything.
“God damn it! Agh, you know it is your fault too!” She yelled rubbing her cheek, Azure laughed.
“Okay stop fighting you two, right now Eden has to wake up, then everything will be explained fully,” Azure said as my eyes slowly closed and I felt a familiar feeling. My eyes wouldn’t open and my fingers felt numb. I slowly pushed open my eyes and bright light hit my iris. I flinched at the old, familiar feeling, but could move again.
I sat up, bloody tired even though I had apparently been sleeping, I rubbed my eyes and noticed someone else in this… This hospital room?
“Eden?”
~[<*>]~Summer~[<*>]~
It was the middle of math class when I got the call, the teacher got angry with me, but I ignored her, it was Jay, something was either horribly wrong or incredibly good.
“Hello-”
“GET TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW!” Jay screamed before hanging up… What. The. Fuck.
“Ugh, Mrs. Ricadio? I need to go to the hospital,” I said, everyone gasped because they thought I was dying.
“Family business,” I said before grabbing my things and leaving the classroom, stupid people.
I ran there, it wasn’t to far anyways, and bust into the front door, the woman pointed in a different direction knowing it was me. Figures I’ve almost been here as much as Jay.
I ran down the hallways that seemed to last forever, who knew somewhere so white and clean could smell and feel of so much death?
I found Cylvia and Kaelen standing outside the door with Kary and Jay, all looking a bit worried, but relieved, like me.
“What’s going on?” I asked, walking towards them.
“Eden’s inside as the doctor talks to him, we aren’t allowed in yet,” Kary said, she had dark circles under her eyes, she hadn’t slept very well I guess. Eden’s been in the hospital, but never with the chance of him never waking up.
“Oh,” I said as I waited with them patiently, wonder how Eden’s doing?

Jay hugged me, causing me to wince from the now visible pain in my abdomen, “I’ll go get the doctor!”
He left, and I longed for his arms around me again, they felt nice even when they hurt… Jeez that sounded like I’m a masochist.
Minutes the doctor came in, I had gotten tired from the sitting up and layed back down, he looked at me with a confused expression and made Jay go outside to wait.
“Hello Eden, I’m Dr. Daniels, I’m going to ask you a few questions, okay?” He asked, I frowned because if he thought he was going to get a reply from me then I was going to choke him. I DON’T KNOW WHY I CAN’T SPEAK, BUT BEING IN THE DAMN HOSPITAL MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT?!
After a bit of question and answering with my os so hot doctor, who came up with the bloody brilliant idea of me blinking to answer, he told the people outside to come in.
First it was Kary, Oliver was probably at work or something.
“Eden?” She said, running over to me and hugging me tightly, I winced, but relaxed a bit, at least I know she cares.
“Oh my god you have no idea how much I’ve been worried,” she said, her eyes beginning to tear up, I smiled with the strength I had and she hugged me again before leaving to let someone else in. Instead of someone she brought sometwo, hehehe I made a joke in my head.
It was Kaelen and Cylvia, Kael stood there awkwardly as Cylvia ran up to me and kissed my cheek and screaming and crying. He had to drag her out before kissing my other cheek and leaving with a blush.
“Bye,” he said as Summer walked in, she was staring at Kael with a weird expression before looking at me and breaking down right on the spot.
“I-I wasn’t there to help you,” she sobbed, my expression softened for her, she blames herself.
“C-Come he-here,” I croaked, my throat burning, she walked over, her eyes red and puffy.
“I-I’m so-” I slapped her mouth shut with my stronger arm and she screeched jumping back. She got up and brushed herself up, the tears receding, leaving a smile in it’s wake.
“Thanks,” she said before hugging me and letting the final person in. Jay.
It was silent for a moment before I got up, using the rest of my strength to push me up, he ran over and caught me before I fell.
He sat down with me, holding me in his arms, making me feel all fuzzy inside, a nice feeling I had once before in Oregon when Kyle the Liar was my fake boyfriend.
“Hey,” he said as he cradled me, swaying side to side with me.
I snuggled my head into his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart, and smiling as he cupped my cheek to bring my face up to look at his.
“I missed you,” he said. My smile faded as I remembered what I was going to ask.
“W-What ha-happened,” I said weakly, he frowned and his grip on me tightened.
“You don’t remember?” He asked, I nodded no. A tear fell from his face and I felt my heart lurch.
He sighed and he looked at me with sad eyes, “I’ll explain later. All that matters is that you’re safe and alive.”
I flinched at the word alive, what is he talking about?
I wanted an answer, but I wouldn’t get one with the energy I had. I wanted to yell at the thought of being so unable to do anything. Time was lost as I sat in Jay’s arms, falling asleep and waking up, still being embraced by him.
I snuggled closer to him, feeling an emotion sprouting from my body that was more refined and certain.
I am in love.
