“You see I used to have a brother”
He said and stretched a smiled as he run a hand through his freshly dyed hair.
“My brother was amazing. He was talented. He painted and sang and danced. And he was a helpless romantic”
He refused to look at his therapist. He had his eyes casted low.
“He fell in and out of love with ease and never once was bothered by such things as heart ache. He treasured the memories and the moments”
“That’s what I thought”
Talon started playing with his fingers pressing his thumbs
“In reality there was only one person he loved. The wrong person to love that is. During that time however he already had a lover. It got serious. They were engaged even. But he still preferred the time he spent with that dream like creature”
Whispered Talon and looked outside the window. The sun was slowly setting. The sky was a colorful sheet of orange and gold. Of pink and red
” and he was so blindly obsessed with that man that he died for him leaving the other one alone to grieve”
“I knew nothing of either men. I just guessed from what he told me. I hated my brother for that”
His eyes were fixated at the slowly fading sun. In his mind he started counting seconds before only colors lingered in the sky. Till they faded too
“I felt sorry for the man who deeply loved him and was neglected like that. But I started looking through his stuff”
“Call it curiosity, or thirst for answers”
Talon caught the hitch in his therapist breath.
“And while I saw numerous sketches of the man of his dreams, I realized those were the ones he carelessly threw all over his room. But those poems and drawings he treasured he kept them folded in his drawers”
” he would speak fondly of a man with hair like spun gold”
“And he would make the most wonderful of paintings. He never revealed the face. Perhaps he wanted to save him for himself ”
I looked at Christopher and smiled with a soft frown. He had buried his face in his hand as his other arm was wrapped around his waist, his back hunched shoulders shaking as he tried to swallow his cries.
“My brothers name was Finnian Iris Veniamin. It rings a bell doesn’t it ?”
Christopher threw his head back and laughed through the tears as he looked at Talon
“Indeed it does. And here I thought you resembled someone. I wouldn’t guess it was your own brother”
Talon smiled
“That leads to the final thing I had to say. I’m not the boy assigned to your sessions. My name is Talon Veniamin and I am a transfer student”
Christopher smiled. A genuine smile as he got up and ruffled the boy brown now locks
“Tell me boy, why’d you come instead of him then? I’m known to be the worst therapist in the school”
Talon laughed happily. He understood why his brother was in love with Christopher. If only Marc-Lucas never mislead him.
He knew how it happened and how it felt. Talon loved Cadis. But Dax mislead him to believing he didn’t
“You see Cadis is signed up for art class. Art class means the world to him. And I was set on starting sessions with you sir because of a hunch”
Christopher pulled his hand back and crossed his arms nodding waiting for the boy To continue
“Who knew you were my brothers fiancé. However it’s time I ended this. We discussed this with Cadis. He will start sessions from tomorrow”
Talon said and Christopher nod. The door creaked and was pushed open as a lean figure walked in the room cloaked in black with a single grey scarf.
Cadis closed the door and lowered the scarf from his face revealing his tinted red cheeks and nose from the cold
“Hello” he rasped not that eager.
Talon promised Cadis to stop the rituals and meetings only if Cadis would try and attend the therapy sessions. Cadis needed help to cure his depression.
And Talon knew Christopher could help him. So with that been said Talon spoke his last words.
Christopher gave Talon back the card he received the other Time. The card of Apollo
“Thank you Talon for telling me this”
Talon nod
“Ross, Iris loved you. He just didn’t have time to show you that”
Christopher nod and so did Talon. They both smiled. Cadis caught the tension. The misery of finding out a secret too late. Of realizing the failure of saving someone.
He smiled and looked down. He suddenly felt bad about himself for he would just be another boy, failed to be saved

They both sat at the school’s yard. They had a few minutes before the gates lockdown. Talon was curled in Cadis lap as he rubbed his back with gentle moves
The breeze moved through Cadis hair and Talon was filled with the smell of salt and ocean. And he realized that this was his sanctuary.
Here in Cadis arms, surrounded by the wind and the dancing autumn leaves, with the scent of the waves to linger was where he belonged
He closed his eyes
