Max wore her red leather jacket and her hair was freshly cropped short. She wore a baseball hat and supreme pants with black all star shoes.

Cadis didn’t make an effort to differ as he was yet again dressed in black like a crow. But that was alright for black suited the man

And Talon, the little dove firmly attached to the mans side dressed in his loose Arabian pants with a faded brown and orange jacket patched and stitched with thick strings on purpose.

The three of them had gathered at the Central Park of the city. It was a cold bitter morning. Just like every winter.

Max held a cup of coffee and Talon had wrapped his thin fingers around the paper cup with the still steaming tea.

Cadis rubbed his eyes. His black circles weren’t as evident. They were fading just like the cuts around Talons wrists. Slowly but steadily

“What are we waiting for?”

Max was unusually hype. She shifted her weight from one foot to another. She all of a sudden reached out to them saying she wanted to hang out.

Something about an announcement. Cadis agreed saying he wanted to say something to them as well. Talon went with the flow wanting to be with Cadis a bit longer and feeling like giving a chance to the extra ordinary girl.

Then all of a sudden from the distance a girl came running to them and stopped few steps away where she simply bounced and eventually walked her way to them

She gave herself a minute to catch her breath. A girl with hair shorter then Max and aquamarine eyes. She smiled

“Hello I’m Ryss”

Max walked up to her and entwined their fingers together. She smiled shyly

“Cadis, Talon this is Ryss, my girlfriend”

She sheepishly said and Talon grinned like a fool. Cadis brows shot up but that was all the reaction Max had drawn out of him.

Yes, he was happy for his friend who had suddenly decided to distance herself from everyone she knew.

She slowly approached Cadis and Cadis approached her and they became friends realizing a big company wasn’t something either of them needed.

So seen Max had found herself a partner was something that excited Cadis. Too bad he couldn’t show that

” that’s cool. So this is like a double date thing?” He asked and Ryss glanced back and forth between the two boys.

“Ooooooh so you…”

Talon wanted to say something but Cadis was quicker as he wrapped an arm around the boys thin shoulder and drew him close

“Yeah. We are”

Ryss grinned “good for you” Cadis nod.

“So? What now?”

“I say how about we go to the exhibition of the newly graduating students from the fine arts university ? The entrance is free”

Offered Max and all of them seemed to agree. They made their way down the cold streets. Talon smiled at the girls and how secretly intimate they were as they pointed at random things at the shops windows and giggled to themselves.

He was surprised to see Max like that. He thought he liked that side. He wonder f Kevin saw how nice Max and Cadis actually were, if he could come in terms and like the guys himself

“Can you smell it?”

Asked Cadis and talon stopped and closed his eyes breathing in the dry cool air. He smiled and opened his lids

“Smells like snow. And water”

“Water?”

“It’s always about you”

He gingerly replied and Cadis smiled as he got hold of Talons hand and dug it in the pocket of his black coat, fingers entwined as they shared each other’s warmth

Talon thought, this was the happiest he ever remembered himself been. He could get used to this

Few minutes later they had arrived to their destination. A museum often used for exhibition. They walked in and were greeted with a pleasant silence where only the occasional footsteps of other teenagers echoed through the hall ways.

They all moved together to the same section where they saw knitted artworks on canvas and paper clothes hanging by a three from the ceiling

“Must have been hard to make”
Said Ryss and Max looked down to see the creator. But nothing was written.

“Indeed. But it’s nice”

” neat” offered Cadis as his eyes wandered to the next artwork of random black scribbles on a thin layer of paper.

The kind of artwork Cadis failed to understand the most. But he still took his time looking at it

Ryss took out her phone and took a picture. In occasions such as this, pictures were allowed. So none of them hesitated

As they moved around the saw birds made out of clay and sculptures of men  coated in real feathers

Realistic paintings with acrylic and minimalistic artwork with ink.

Full body sketches with pen on four pieces of paper with a single light casted upon them. And you could feel just how fragile the boy in those drawings was

All sorts of interesting things. One had even gathered trash such as empty boxes from food and dried markers or bottles and casted the lighting in such a way that when you looked at the wall across those thing you could see a whole city

And last Cadis and Talon moved alone to the end of a simply lit corridor with a sculpture of a boy with wings. And a white heavy velvet cloth wrapped around his shoulders, falling down to his ankles, rolling down the floor in waves

They stared at the masterpiece in awe. Cadis tightened his fingers around Talons and talon looked up at him.

A frown  on his face as his lips were firmly shut. Talon held his hand as well for support. He could only hope Cadis was moved with the artwork and wasn’t reminded by a grim memory

Cadis suddenly turned and kissed Talon with passion. No hesitation. He wrapped his arms around the boys waist and pulled him up.

They kissed again and again. A storm of emotions. Till Cadis pulled back

“I love you Talon”

And Talon smiled

“Me too”

Leaving the museum breath taken Cadis eyes had a spark in them and Max was biting her finger nails excited to draw

Ryss smiled and her art obsessed girlfriend and Talon did the same as he gazed at Cadis fondly.

“That was amazing” he said and chuckled. Max nod been a girl of few words and Ryss added up for her sake

“Indeed. Weren’t the sculptures really good ? I didn’t expect university graduates to be this talented”

“Well they spent 5 years in art school” Cadis shot back with no menace hidden and Ryss laughed

“When we come back in 5 years Me and Talon will expect to see your work on those walls as well”

Talon looked at Ryss and grinned. Yes. He would like to see that.

On that second, he missed the misery that was evident of Cadis features. The distant grey of his eyes. The candles that had long distinguished

But it was just a second.

Walking around the city they settled with eating on the benches of a random park. They needed no luxury as they joked and Talon offered to read them his tarot cards for fun. Ryss was all up for it and so was Max. After that they watched a super hero themed movie just for the laugh of it at the cinema near by

Cadis and Max furiously argued of who was better as Ryss had started up a nice chat with Talon about books.

She came to a halt when she felt something frozen land on her lashes as her sight blurred

She looked up and squinted Talon following her lead. And soon he was greeted with the same gentle cold.

A snowflake.

And then another

It was snowing

Cadis and Max realizing they weren’t been followed looked behind them at the two smiling idiots. The sight of the snow was enough to excite them

Ryss waisted no second running up to her girlfriend and wrapping her in her slender arms. Max furiously blushed.

Talon slowly walked towards the three of them

“I have a great idea of where we should go next to wrap up this day. Come on. Let’s go get ourselves some energy drinks and then I’ll show you”

Ryss said and the boys along with Max followed the excited teenager. They get themselves bags full of drinks and kept walking.

People stood still to observe the falling snow with hope in their eyes as some laughed.

Ryss stopped at an old building and motioned the other to quietly walk after her. They made it to the very top and looked around at the breath takin view of the whole center of the city.

As the rays of the sun faded and the lights on the streets dimmed the lamps lit themselves a fire and people were greeted with the first snowy, winter night.

They had rested their backs against the fence and treated themselves a drink

“It was a nice day” said Talon shyly and Cadis nod. He had been oddly silent. And Max had been oddly talkative.

Ryss gathered the other girl in her arms as they sipped Red Bull and Talon just let himself flow with the cold refreshing breeze. It felt nice been with them

Cadis got up and walked a few steps ahead

“There’s something I need to tell you guys”

He said his voice slightly clearer then usual.

Talon lit a cigarette. Ryss let her half filled can down.

“Say it than  ” she said with an easy going smiling

The man let out a deep breath. His eyes shivered.

Cadis had his back facing them. He felt chills run down his spine. His throat ached from the guilt. He had finally  found happiness

Yet…

“I have one month left to live”

He said loud enough for them to hear. So that he wouldn’t have to repeat himself

Talons cigarette fell from his fingers
