Chapter 7
Eli’s pov
As me and Carter walked outisde I felt my hands shaking nervously but hid them in my pockets. Wait does this make me look straight ? Shit I should probably have them out. I moved my hands out of my pockets and laid them lifelessly on my sides. Wait does this make me look too gay?
I was interrupted from my nervous thoughts by Carter’s voice.
“Why are you so uptight?” He asked. I blushed by the question.
“What? I’m not uptight.” I said nervously laughing. Was being uptight ‘gay’?
“Oh yeah, sure you’re not.” He said sarcastically and I laughed, this time more real and less nervous.
“Well what about you? I swear I haven’t seen you talk to anyone other then that guy Wes.” I pointed out. He blushed and looking down making my stomach do flips.
“You talked to me.” He replied looking up with a small smirk.
I chuckled and shook my head. I did talk to him.
When I looked up he was fumbling with his hands.
“Your shy.” I stated causing him to blush.
“It’s cute.” I said the words before I knew they were leaving my mouth.
He Blushed even more and I felt my heart swell.
“What’s your deal with that cheerleader?” He asked, I raised my eyebrows at the question. That was random.
“You mean Kayla?” I asked laughing and his face filled with confusion. “She’s just my friend.” I said.
“Wait… Her name is kayla?” He asked confused.
“Umm… yeah… why?” I asked.
“Oh my friend is kinda in love with her.” He said nervously. “There going on a date, I just thought you two were dating.” He said sheepishly and it was my turn to laugh.
“No, we aren’t dating. She’s not really my type.” I said laughing. Boys are.
Wait no. I shouldn’t have those thoughts.
He just laughed and smirked, as if he knew something that I didn’t.
We stayed silent for a while till I decided to speak.
“Did you like your old school?” I asked.
He thought for a minute. “Yeah… It wasn’t a bad school. Sure there were a few jerks but I had friends there.” He replied, shrugging.
“Was anyone mean to you?” I asked too curiously and a bit too protectively.
“Yeah..” He sighed trailing off. “But it was actually pretty nice.” He finished.
“Then why did you move?” I questioned.
“My dad got a new job.” He explained, I nodded.
I smiled over at the boy. He was gonna be a problem.
Chapter 7
Carter’s pov
“Soo…. why did you even invite me here?” Eli asked, I could tell he was getting nervous again.
I smirked. “Why did you show up?” I asked.
He rolled his eyes. “I was with my friends.” He scoffed
“Then why aren’t you with them now?” I asked smirking again and stepped a bit closer to him. He didn’t step away.
“You know what I think?” I said cockily. “I think you wanted to hang out with me.”
He rolled his eyes again and stiffened up. Why wasn’t he comfortable around me?
“Hey Eli, whos this?” Kayla ran up to eli from the house and he immidiatly changed his appearance. He seemed more stiff, even from before.
“Just some guy from one of my classes, hes nobody.” Eli scoffed and I tried not to be hurt from his words. Im not ‘just some guy’.
“Oh well, Im kayla.” She said cheerly and stuck her hand out for me to shake. I shook it “I’m Carter.” I replied smiling. And then they walked away.
And I was left alone.
