Chapter 6
Eli’s pov
I ran a hand through my hair nervously, looking in the mirror.
Kyle, and a few other guys were coming by my house to pick me up for the party.
The party that a boy invited me to.
A cute boy.
Kayla would have went with me but she was meeting some boy named wes. (She promised to give me details later)
I was so nervouse. I was going to see carter tonight.
I had to act like nothing was going on between us, because what If kyle saw? I could just imagine my popularity going down and there was no way I was prepared for that.
But I shouldnt even have to worry about that since there was nothing going on. Right?
He just invited me cause he’s new and we have kinda talked so he really only knows me and a few other people.
Although, we don’t actually know each other. But what was with the looks that we had been giving each other? Why did I even let myself give him those looks? Ughs this is so fucking confusing.
I didn’t have anymore time to stress over this because I heard a car honk outside.
I walked out of the house, avoiding my dad, and ran outside into the car.
They saved the passenger seat for me. Of course they did.
I slid into the car.
“AYE it’s Eli!” Some guy hollered when I got into the car. I forced a laugh and we started driving, everyone talking and yelling voices. I forced a laugh and pretended to be happy and acted like one of the guys but my heart had dropped to the floor and I felt sick, and I couldn’t get one person off my mind.
Carter.
Chapter 6
Carters pov
Work by Rihanna filled my ear drums and pounded my heart as I looked around the room.
I was sitting on a couch, at the party. Wes and the girl he told me about, Kayla, we’re off talking somewhere so I was left alone.
I guess I would only be alone untill Eli showed up.
I hoped I could get him away from everyone, so we could talk some were. I wanted to get to know him, figure him out.
But everyone always wanted to be around him. He was kinda a hot shot at the school.
Suddenly I felt the couch sink and looked to my right to see wes sitting down smiling.
“Hey! How did it go?” I shouted Over the music.
“She agreed to go on a date with me.” He replied enthusiasticly.
“Niceeee.” I said and leaned back watching people dance.
Wes left sometime after that to go get us drinks but I wasn’t listening.
I was watching mindlessly at the crowd of people dancing.
“Hey.” I looked up to see Eli.
His hair was messy, and his eyes were glazed over. He looked cute.
“Hey Eli!!!” A bunch of perky girls ran up to him gushing and giggling.
“Wanna dance?” One of the girls asked and he looked up at me with apologizing eyes before out onto the dance floor to join them. I watched jealously as one of the girls grinded against him.
“Well someone’s jelouse.” Wes said sarcastically, appearing infront of me, handing me a cup.
“Oh shut up.” I rolled my eyes. He laughed at me and sat down next to me, the couch sinking a bit.
“Why aren’t you over with Kayla?” I asked, although I still didn’t know what she looked like so I couldn’t tell if she was here or not.
“Oh she wanted to go talk to her friends.” He said shrugging. I nodded and resumed looking at Eli, who was now joking around with a couple of other jocks.
I frowned, I shouldn’t have even thought I was gonna get him away from the crowds.
He probably didn’t even want to talk to me.
“Aye Wes, do you and your friend wanna come play truth or dare?” Some nerdy looking guy ran up, looking drunk.
“Of course!” He yelled laughing and they both dragged me effortlessly, although I was much taller then both of them, to the kitchen were there was 10 other people, all playing truth or dare.
“Hey guys Wes, and…?” The guy asked looking at me.
“Carter.” I introduced myself sheepishly.
“And Carter are gonna play also.” The guy finished and we starters to play.
“Truth or dare… Wes.” One of the girls said, her eyes landing on Wes. I noticed everyone here seemed really geeky.
This was defiantly not my style.
Not that being a geek and stuff was bad, It’s just honestly not my style. Just they wouldn’t want to hang out with the preppy kids, it’s not because it’s a bad thing it’s just not their style.
They continued to play the game and I felt so bored. That was untill a familiar, shorter boy tapped in my shoulder.
I looked over to see Eli. My hero.
“Oh hey.” I said grinning.
“Hey, it’s too loud in here.” He said and I grinned.
“Here, let’s go outside.” I said and he nodded, leading me out of the house.
