Chapter 25
Eli’s pov
I woke up in a bright room.
There was a constant beeping from a machine besides me and a thin blanket on top of me.
“Oh thank god, your awake.” My mom sighed with relief, causing me to notice her and I sat up confused.
I ignored my pounding head ache and sat up quickly. I’m in a hospital.
Why the fuck am I in a hospital?
“What happened?” I asked alarmed.
I winced in agony as pain shot through my arm.
“What the..” I looked down to see I had a bandage covering my arm, and a few IV’s.
“You must be confused…” My mom said looking at me with empathy. Wait I was supposed to meet Carter… We’re is Carter?!
A doctor walked in with a clipboard.
“I’m sorry ma’am but I’m gonna have to ask you to leave while I go over some standard medial procedures with the patient.” The doctor said to my mom. She nodded and left.
“Ok Eli, what’s the last thing you remeber?” The doctor asked.
“Well I umm.. I snuck out of the house to go see cater and… Wait where is Carter?!” I asked suddenly getting worried. The machine next to me started beeping at a faster rate when I did that.
“Calm down, your friends are out in the waiting room.” The doctor said calming me down.
“Do you remeber anything after that?” The doctor asked.
“I remeber.. I remember something hit my car and I hit my head against the steering wheel and passed out.” I said shrugging.
“Well, you were in a crash. In the process your car caught fire and the other car flipped over. You have a concussion and mild to severe burn injuries on your arms and legs. You will need to change out the bandages every day, I told your mom how.” He explained. I nodded.
“Wait… Is the other car… Are they-” I started to panic. What if I hurt them.
“They are fine, they were drunk when the crash happened, so I’m guessing that’s why you crashed.” The doctor assured me.
But what if it’s cause I was speeding?
“When can I go home?” I asked as he left.
“In three days. We want to keep an eye on your concussion for a while but it’s nothing to worry about.” He assured me and started to leave agin.
“Can I see my friends?” I asked.
He chuckled and nodded, and left.
What if Carter isn’t here?
What if he is?
I need to tell him how I feel. I need to be with him. I had to be. I wasn’t gonna let a car accident stop that.
“Hey.” Kaylas voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked over to see her smiling at me through tears, Wes holding her hand at the door way.

In the room then running to the side of my bed.
We both started to cry as he ran up to me fast, and enclosed me in a bone crushing hug.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and back ignoring the pain from my burns and held him as tight as humanly possible.
“Oh my god… Eli…” He choked out as he cries into my shoulder. I held him tightly and cried so much.
“I’m so glad your okay.” He said eventually pulling away.
“You scared me you asshole.” He sighed and I chuckled. It’s not like I Ment to get hurt.
“Listen, Carter, I need to tell you something.” I said and he nodded, sitting at the end of my bed, holding my hand.
Kayla and Wes had left, closing the door behind them.
Chapter 25
Carters pov
“You can tell me anything.” I said gently as I held his hand.
He sucked in his breath and started to talk.
“I don’t know how this happened, but I can’t stop thinking about you. Carter… I don’t care what people say anymore, I really like you, so much it scares me. I want you in my life. I need you in my life.” He said looked in my eyes tear eyes.
“And I think I’m madly in love wit-” he couldn’t finish his sentence because at that moment every rational part of my brain shut down and I leaned over and crashed my lips onto his.
He was shocked at first but then kissed me back.
Our lips mingled with tears and I kissed him. I kissed the boy I was in love with.
The heart monitor started to beep but we didn’t stop.
When we finally pulled away breathlessly I whispered, “me to.”
