Chapter 9
Jacob’s P.O.V
I looked down at my paper then up at the teacher, yawning as she explained something about atoms and protons. A paper ball hit my head and landed on my desk. I turned to see who it came from and saw Alex grinning at me. I gave him a weird look then turned to read the note. It read: Blondie’s got a crush on our sister. What’s your opinion? Wait, who’s blondie? Oh right, Andrew. So, my opinion? I thought about it then replied: That’s cute. IDK, if she likes him back then they should totally get together. I smiled at my response, I can be such a girl sometimes.
When the teacher had her back turned, I threw the paper back at Alex and he caught it. I wasn’t able to see his reaction because as soon as class was over, both him and Luce got up and bolted out of the classroom. Why were they in a rush? Oh yeah, school just ended. I walked out and saw the boys talking to a really cute girl. She looked kind of like Luce so I’m guessing that she is their sister. I walked over and smiled at her.
“Hello there.” She smiled back. “I’m Jacob.”
“Hi, I’m Evangeline.” Her smile disappeared as she looked at me closely. She then looked down at my arm then back at my face. “My brothers beat you up, didn’t they?”
“Uh, yeah…” She turned and glared at them. “But it’s alright.” I reassured with a smile. She relaxed but still looked uneasy.
“Yeah Eva, we’re all buddies now.” He put his arm over me and grinned. “Right Jakey?” I sighed and nodded. “See, no harm done.” I got out from under his arm and stepped back.
“Well, nice meeting you Evangeline. I gotta go.” She waved ‘goodbye’ and I walked away.

I looked up at the sky. It was a mixture between the afternoon blue and the evening grey. It was actually kind of depressing so to prevent sad thoughts from entering my mind, I popped in my headphones and pressed play. To my surprise it was a song that I’ve never heard before.

I realized that I was biting my lip to stop myself from crying.

I let some tears fall, because as if on queue the thought of Glen went through my head.

I didn’t know how bad this break up affected me. But I felt it now.
Wiping my face, I walk into the dorm building. I thought about paying Glen a visit, see if he’s feeling better. After a debate in my brain about whether or not I should go, I finally decided and so I made my way to his dorm. I pressed my hand on the door and it slowly opened. Why was it open? Maybe, his roommate, Tyler I think, left it open.
I peered in and immediately caught a soundly sleeping Glen, wrapped in his light blue sheets with his messy hair stuck to his sweaty forehead. Wow, he was so cute asleep, and it made feel a bit at ease seeing him so peaceful after all that happened yesterday. My gaze ran over his body, constantly stopping at small bruises and little cuts. Then it ran up his arm and once again I saw the dried, red cuts on his wrist. I shuddered, remembering what happened when I confronted him yesterday. I stepped in then felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned and saw Tyler, looking at me sympathetically.
“Can I please…” I asked softly, turning to look at Glen. He sighed then took his hand off of my shoulder. Knowing that I could approach him, I slowly walk over to his bed. He continues to sleep peacfully as I move some hair out of his face. I smile slightly, gazing and admiring his features. I kiss him on the forehead then whisper, “Feel better…” Wiping another tear from my face, I walk back over to the door where Tyler is still standing. He leads me out and closes the door behind him.
“So, when will he come back to school?” I asked.
“In about a few days, probably next week.” He smiled and took my hand. “He’ll be fine, don’t worry.” He let go and turned to go back inside. “Should I tell him you came?”
“No, that’s alright.” I managed a small smile. He nodded then went back inside. When lock clicked, I turned on my heel and continued up to my dorm.
When I reached my dorm, I opened the door to find Andrew laying on his bed with his head in his hands.
“Hey Andrew… What’s up with you?” I asked as I threw my stuff down and jumped on my bed.
“Well, I want to move on from Angela… which is easy, so I want Alex and Luce’s sister… but I-I get nervous around her though.”
“You?! Nervous? Oh that’s hilarious.” I joked as I rolled around on my bed laughing. Andrew was the type of guy who was able to talk to any girl, and by his looks he would be considered a sexy douche but he is actually quite the gentleman.
He looked at me with a serious and desperate expression. “Sorry for laughing… and this girl must be something…”
“You don’t mind right?”
“No, why would I-… Oh. Well, don’t worry.” I gave him a genuine smile. I know I should be bothered by this but, I just wasn’t. Guess I was still too worried about Glen.
“Oh okay. Well, I’ve decided to hang out with her and see if I’m comfortable around her. That’s a good idea right?”
“Yeah. Good luck bro.” I laid back in my bed. I was exhausted and still a little sore from yesterday.
“Tired?”
“Yep.” I kicked off my shoes and took off my uniform, leaving me in only my shorts and undershirt.
“Well, enjoy your nap.” He popped in his headphones and started doing something on the iPhone.
I got comfortable and slowly drifted off into my dreams.

I woke up to the sound of my vibrating phone. I looked at it and saw that I had recieved a message. It was from an unknown number.
Unknown: So when we settin up Eva and Andrew?
Judging by how it was worded, it came from Alex. However I had to make sure.
Me: Alex?
Unknown: Yeppp
Alex: Now when we settin them up??
Me: WE are not going to do anything, they will decide if they wanna do anything but we will NOT interfere. Got it?
Alex: Ok ok, sheeeeesh what crawled up your butt?
Me: -.- you woke me from my nap, and I’m still kinda sore from fighting you.
Alex: O sorry, well nice napping. Bye.
I sighed and put my phone back on the counter. That boy is so annoying. Adjusting myself for the twentieth time, I finally feel confortable enough to go back to resting. With that I fall asleep again.
