(Lou Ellen’s p.o.v)
Pt. One

“There he is!”

“Nico, we’ve waited ages!”

“Cecil. Don’t be rude.”

“Jeez, I can’t even be annoyed at someone?”

Cecil.

Lou Ellen glared at the son of Hermes. He could be so irritating sometimes. She didn’t know how Will had become close friends with him, anyway. Maybe because he went into the infirmary a lot.

She saw Will break into a grin as he saw Nico. Lou Ellen rolled her eyes. He had it for Nico. Bad. Nico shuffled over awkwardly as he began muttering something into Cecil’s ear. Cecil grinned.

“Here for ya, bro,” Cecil laughed. Nico nodded solemnly.

“What’s up?” Lou asked. Nico gave her a look that said ‘not in front of Will‘. She smiled and understood instantly.

She figured it would be a prank on someone, as Cecil’s were kind of underrated. But they couldn’t talk about it around someone ‘responsible’.

In fact, Will was hardly responsible. That trick he had pulled off with the Romans? Completely stupid. But, he still didn’t appreciate extra people in the infirmary.

Will looked around their small group.

“Anyone got any ideas on what to do?” Will asked.

Cecil had a coughing fit that sounded strangely like ‘hot girls’. Lou glared, and Nico looked completely lost. Will, however, just rolled his eyes.

“We could go swimming,” Lou suggested. Nico went slightly pale.

“No thank you,” he said. Maybe it was because he was a child of Hades… or it was that thing he told Percy. Lou wondered what the conversation was about, since Annabeth had high-fived Nico. Hmm.

“What about getting lunch?” Cecil said. Everybody stared at him. “What?”

Will shook his head. “Well, if no-one has any ideas, I need to get back to the infirmary.”

And with that, he walked away. Lou noticed that Nico looked extremely crestfallen. So they both like each other, she thought.

“Hey buddy, it’s cool. We can do something else,” Cecil said, obviously seeing the expression on his face as well.

Nico smiled gratefully, and his eyes looked brighter.

“I have an idea,” he said.

“Lemme guess…” Cecil said. “Will is not going to like it.”

Nico looked a bit guilty. He then suddenly perked up and smiled proudly at the rest of them.

“We’re going to speak to the dead.”

Cecil paled. Lou Ellen’s eyes widened.

“Are you sure?” Lou asked. She was concerned that Nico was going too far to defy Will.

“Absolutely. Don’t you want to know where Leo is?”

The two other teens nodded. Lou was sure that they both still had their doubts.

Nico nodded firmly and walked over to his cabin. He was sweating, although the thought of it was draining him. Lou and Cecil followed, trotting along like obedient dogs. Lou saw Nico take a key out of his pocket. It was black. Most likely Stygian Iron.

“I thought we weren’t allowed locks,” Lou whispered furiously to Nico. He stared at her, unblinking. Finally, he answered.

“I’m the son of Hades. I’m very… persuasive,” He said. A mischievous smile played on his lips. Lou rolled her eyes.

Cecil walked closer. “Guys? Why were you whispering?”

Lou gave him a straight answer: “Keys.”

He nodded.

Finally, the door clicked open and the trio walked in.

“Welcome to my humble abode,” Nico said, sarcasm dripping from his sentence.

The place was a wreck. The sofa had been rolled over and ripped multiple times, there was a vase which had probably been smashed then glued together more than once, the covers were off the spare beds and feathers were everywhere (because of the ripped up pillows).

“What happened?” Cecil said. He looked concerned; that was not an expression that usually made itself comfortable on his face.

Nico looked down, supposedly now interested in his feet. “I practice swordplay in here,” he said lightly. He was lying, and Lou was sure of it.

She instantly knew what had happened. Her brow creased and she looked sadly at Nico. He knew that she had figured it out.

Anyway,” he said firmly, “we’re going to need some food.”

Cecil’s face lit up. “I know exactly where to get that!”

Pt. Two

Nico looked around. Cecil and Lou were there. They had a happy meal that had been bought for 1 golden drachma (pricey), and a hole in the ground. It came with the room, but not many people paid attention to it.

Nico instructed the others to move back. They nodded and obliged.

He started to chant dark magic, also referred to as shadow magic. He threw the contents of the happy meal into the pit. Shadows started to form an oily mass. They lowered into the dip in the ground.

Dead souls tried to reach into the pit, their faces poking out from the dark liquid.

The last thing Nico thought before blacking out?

This isn’t how it goes… what happened?

And with that, the tar-like mass disappeared, and a shocked and confused Nico fell to the ground.

(A/N)

Oh no! Is Nico dead?

Hey guys! I know it took me forever to update, but here it is!

It was a bit of a shorter chapter than usual, but I have been quite busy lately.

Stay classy!
