HO! HO! HO!!!! Merry Christmas!!!
Here’s my Christmas gift to everyone! I hope you like it! 😀
I’m trying to update while having an immense writer’s block. So pardon me if this is a little crappy.
Featured Character: Allister
Who wouldn’t fall in love with this hot piece of meat, right??
Song of the Chapter: Fly with me by the Jonas Brothers
I know it’s a JoBros song yet again, but why not?
——————————————————-
Allister’s POV
When you have that one thing that you ever wanted, you finally realize if that something is really worth it.
I don’t even want to know what just happened…
It just did.
“Alli!” Vanessa yelled, irritation is very present in her tone. “What the heck is wrong with you? You know how stupid you made me look back there? Not to mention how you turned my brother into a fool? God! What has gotten into your noggin’?”
I just stood there, unable to defend myself. I don’t even know how to explain myself or where to begin… My eyes wandered into the floor of my apartment. My feet were tapping uncontrollably with an unsteady beat. I was biting my nails in pure tension. I’m… I don’t know…
“Well… Aren’t you at least gonna defend yourself?” She seethed in aggravation. I couldn’t blame her, though. “Say that you didn’t mean it? That it was all a prank on both of us? Cause clearly, I’m shocked! You told me you love him then in came this blonde haired millionaire and you already forgotten my brother, which I want to remind you that you told me that you love him. Or was it already in the past form of the word? LOVED.” Her rage continued as I stood again in silence. Or should I say guilt.
She paced around my living area and huffed every now and then, releasing excess tension in her system. And by the looks of it she has a lot of it in her.
“Speak dimwit!” She spat.
“I don’t know.” I managed to say.
“That’s it?” She huffed. “I’m so tempted to beat you up right now!” She threatened; biting her lips, clenching her fists, and took a step towards me. She then backed up and sighed.
I feel on the seat behind me. My face buried in my hands as I groaned in frustration.
It felt right at the moment. I mean he was giving me a chance to live my dream. At first I thought it wasn’t a good idea, but Max got some sense into me. He was giving me an avenue to start a business, with no collateral, just me and him doing business together.
Vincent did the same thing before, but it felt awkward and different when he asked it or at least I thought it was.
It’s too complicated.
Vincent was like the perfect one for me.
Max is someone who made me so comfortable. I feel at ease in his presence. There’s that soothing aura that he has. He had greatly affected me.
I’m bound to Vincent now, with our current status and all that. I’m like bound to him since the day we met. And now that I have him, I feel like I’m taking him for granted.
“I don’t want this to happen either, I’m just not sure what really happened.” I started as she rolled her eyes. “Look, calm your tits for a sec and I’ll fix this.”
“You better!” She shook her head before stomping her way out my apartment.
UGHHHH!!!
“Why does it have to be this complicated?” I groaned loudly to myself. Rushing a hand through my hair.
My phone buzzed.
“I wanna see you. I can’t stand this Allibear! You’re killing me!”
I tossed my phone on the couch. I’m not yet ready. I mean my mind is so fucked up! Just want to clear it all before I see him.
–
“What do you mean you don’t want to?” He growled viciously, making me flinch.
“I don’t want to break up our deal, I’m finally gonna go big. I can leave my event planning job now and focus more on baking. While you can help me save up for our house.” I assured him.
He sighed. “You don’t get it Allibear! I want you to succeed but not with him.” He held my hands and gripped it tighter. “I want to be the one to bring you to the top.” His eyes are staring at me, begging.
“But I don’t want to drag you down if I fail.” I admitted. “I guess that’s what I’m really afraid of. That if I sucked, you’ll leave me. I don’t even want to think about the debt of gratitude that I’ll have to owe you.” I looked down at our hands entwined.
He chuckled. “Is that it? Because frankly I don’t give a horse’s shit if you fail and get fired by that asshole. All I want is you. To help you, to be the one to make you happy. Call me selfish, but I’m not gonna share you with anyone.” He lifted my chin up and planted a soft assuring kiss on my lips.
It’s nice that he’s this in love with me,
How I wish I could say the same.
Alright… I may sound like a slut to all of you… but hear me out first.
Vincent is Mr. Perfect, the man of dreams, and the one that I wanted.
Max, on the other hand, is like my soul mate. Our personalities just jived.
It’s like we’re connected in every way.
Maybe of all the wrong timing, Maxwell came in the wrongest of wrongest timing in the world. I know ‘wrongest’ isn’t even a word but you know what I mean.
“We’ll stand up together if you fail. I will not leave you, okay?” He continued.
Is that true? Will he never get tired of me?
“Please, don’t accept the job. I can’t help it… I can’t help but be jealous. You’re gonna be like work buddies, then become friends, then best friends, and who knows how long it will take for him to steal you away from me. It’s driving me crazy!” He said as his hands shook.
I guess he’s willing to stay for the long run.
“Can you calm down? I’m not leaving you, Vinny. Never. Ever. Ever.” I whispered breathily into his ear making him flinch. “But I’m still gonna stand my ground.” I said as I backed up.
His eyes went wide. “Dammit! Why?! Am I not begging enough? Do I even need to kneel?! ‘cause now all I’m getting is that you want him and not me.” He threw his hands and moved away from me. He heaved a sigh. “I’m willing to lose everything just to be with you…” He paused for a while, looking intently into my eyes. “But I guess you’re not.” He continued before walking out on me.
FUCK!
“Vincent!”
The door slammed hardly. The sound of it echoed through the walls of my apartment.
A deafening silence beckoned upon me.
Why doesn’t he understand?
Or maybe it’s me… it’s me who can’t understand…
Am I really that blinded by Max, that I’ve forgotten the most important person for me?
Shit!
I quickly rushed out of the door. As I opened the door, something fell on top of me.
“OW!” I and the figure groaned. I guess it’s a person.
His smell was distinct and familiar.
I hugged him quickly.
“I’m breaking it off. Can’t risk losing you.” I told him.
“Thanks. For a second there, I thought we’re through.” He flipped himself over to face me. He used his hands to pull himself above me.
Lying on the floor never looked so sexy to me… until now.
He was hovering above me. Eyes locked on each other. Breathing slowly and in rhythm.
And now I knew why I fell in love with him. It’s his gentle touch, those blue eyes, and his sincerity.
Fuck me and my inconsistency!
I just hope that I’ll be able to do what I must without melting in his arms, Maxwell’s arms that is.
–
I went to the café the next day to meet up with Max. Okay, there are two cafés in Ashton. This one is where we usually hang out, the other one is where Vinny works. The coffee here is much cheaper, so we just hang out here to have a quick cup and chat, plus the ambience in this one is very calm. Unlike the café where Vinny works, it’s always full of people because of the in-house library.
Max came in as fast as I called him up. Guessing he’s in the area or he’s just that fast.
He sat in front of me and there he was smiling. It’s was harder to break it now. He was expecting so much. Something that I couldn’t return. He’s a good guy, and I know doing this would not only break our deal, but also his heart.
It has to be done.
“Max, I called you here to tell you…” I paused, collecting my thoughts and planning to say it the least hurtful way as possible. “I’m backing out. I’m sorry.”
“Why?” He asked, perplexed.
“Boyfriend issues. You know how possessive they can be.” I said as I try to look away from him.
“Actually, I don’t.” He stated strongly. “And you are wasting an opportunity here, Alli.” The stern tone in his voice made me look up to him. Good thing is that he’s not looking at me. He was staring at his clasped hands while his thumbs circle around each other.
“I know, but I’ll lose him if I don’t break this off.”
“You’ll still have me.” His tone was soft, sincere and sad. “If it isn’t obvious, I like you Allister. And I’m swearing that Amanda has nothing to do with this. Well she let our worlds meet, but other than that, this is all me.”
“I know that, but I’m already with someone. And you do know he’s all that I’ve ever wanted.” I stated as subtle as I can.
“Guess this is it. I thought we had something back there. Guess I was wrong. It was very very nice to meet you.” He stood up and turned away from me.
I saw it. Those same sincere stares. His eyes were watering as he spoke those words.
Why? Why do they have so much in common?
It is far harder to let go of him now.
He walked out the café and left me there with my cup of coffee and a gallon of what ifs.
–
After finishing my coffee, I went out for a walk. I needed to breathe and shrug all of this off my back.
But peace and quiet isn’t on my side. My phone went buzzing. I groaned before answering.
“Allister, cupcake maker, speaking.” I greeted, trying to sound as jolly as ever.
“Vincent, the sexy agent, calling.” He retorted and I rolled my eyes to his response. “So how was it?”
“Terrible! I hate you by the way.” I groaned, remembering the situation a while ago.
“I love you, too. Now get your ass here and I need some loving.” He ordered.
“Be there in an hour. I just need some time to think.”
“You can think here. And what is that you need to think about?” He asked.
“Just leave me be for a while, okay?” I said as I hung up.
I made my way through the busy streets, considering it’s time for lunch. Everyone was out and about, trying to find a place to eat.
I, on the other hand, have my mind on a different place.
My phone kept on buzzing but I didn’t mind it.
Was this all I wanted?
I’m not sure really.
“When you have that one thing that you ever wanted, you finally realize if that something is really worth it.” My mom’s words rang in my head.
Was this relationship with Vincent really worth it? We were both losing something in this. And all we have is love.
I personally don’t agree with that song. “Love will keep us alive” PSSH! Bullcrap!
But in his arms I felt alive, I felt like I’m never gonna be alone.
He’s losing his parents, his inheritance, and so many other things, all for me.
I don’t know what I’m losing here. But if Maxwell counts, then I lost him already.
Irritation grew in me and grabbed my phone. I ignored Vincent’s 54 messages and dialled Jess’ number.
“You, me, and a tall glass of margarita! Now!” I demanded from her as soon as she answered and then I hung up, rushing to where she was at this time of the day.
I barged right in and sat to the island counter and there I started to whimper and whine. I told her what had happened.
“Okay, so let me get this straight. You, the fairy princess of Gayness, couldn’t decide who to pick between the guy you thought your soulmate, and the guy who is your bestfriend turned boyfriend AKA mr. Perfecto?” She asked, pulling a face that says ‘really?’, as she poured our drinks, shaking her head in disbelief. She works at this bar, or actually is the part owner since it’s her family’s business.
“Yes!!!!” I groaned before grabbing the glass of blue colored liquid and chugging it straight.
“Easy there princess. I thought that Vincent is Mr. Right? What happened?” She concernedly asked. Which is quite shocking since we are talking about Jess.
“Yes he is! But then in came Max, and I don’t know. We just clicked.” I told her. “That night when I had my date with Max, and Vincent and Amanda had their own, I opened myself to Max. I never thought that Vincent ever felt the same for me. So that moment, right before Vincent came and expressed his love, I knew Max was the one. He was Mr. Right. But Vincent came in and I became torn. The past days weren’t that easy! I have to juggle between Max and Vince.” I grumbled and there I felt my eyes burn.
Jess patted my back. “Hey Hello Kitty, lighten up! How about this, you answer this question for me.” I nodded and she continued. “Vincent or Maxwell?”
Fck!? That’s a hard one.
“Whoever you pick is the one you have to be with, it’s that simple. Just breathe and let go of one.” She smirked.
“Can I call a friend?” I begged.
“I’m the only one you got right now, so no! Just choose Alli.” She said. “It’s not that hard, just close your eyes and look into your heart.” I raised a brow at her and gave her a questioning look. “What? Isn’t this my role as a fag hag? Help you and guide you like Dumbledore and Harry? Or is that Yoda and Anakin? Not really sure…”
I suppressed my laughter before asking. “What if I don’t want to?” It’s not that simple!
“I’ll have to kick your nuts repeatedly until you do, how’s that?” She threatened with a smug on her face.
“Fine…” I huffed. I crunched up my eyes. Breathing deeply. Listened to every beat of my heart. IT was pacing fast, but slowly I got into its rhythm. And as I opened my eyes, I saw my answer.
–
“Vinny!” I exclaimed and ran through the café he’s working at.
Eyes were on me but I didn’t mind them. Brandon smiled and waved at me as I made my way to where Vincent was.
“Hey Brandon, have you seen Vincent?” I beamed at him.
“He’s right over there.” He pointed at Vincent, who has just finished serving a customer.
He was walking back to the counter when I called him again. “Vincent!”
He turned and it seems like he’s pissed. “What?” He asked and he really is pissed.
“Are you okay?” I concernedly ask.
“64 messages, 10 missed calls, and letting me wait for 2 hours, what do you think?” He frowned as he pulled off his apron and dragged me into their pantry.
“I’m sorry. But I have to clear my mind before talking to you.” I grinned happily despite he is shooting daggers at me.
“Clear it of what?” He furrowed his brows.
“Of all the unnecessary crap. I’m in this for the long run. I know I’m a confusing little wuss but I know what I want now. You.” I stated, clasping our hands. “I’m willing to give up everything, just that I need you to keep up with me and my inconsistencies.”
His eyes were gleaming. A small smile on his lips. And his tender grip. All of it was feeling right. Neither an ounce of regret nor a gallon of what ifs was present.
“Of course, I will. We may be living in the streets and I’ll still sniff your messy and sticky hair any day.” He chuckled and I stifled a laugh.
He kissed my hands, sending shivers all over me.
“I have something to tell you though.” He said as his smile faded. “This was the other reason I’m this jumpy.”
And it filled me with worry.
“Just don’t’ freak out on me, okay?” He continued.
I nodded.
“My dad knows. I’m guessing Amanda ratted us out.”
My eyes went wide as Jupiter. My jaw dropped to the floor.
“And?” I asked, swallowing the lump in my throat.
“Well he demands a dinner with you, but don’t worry it’s a family dinner. I’ll be there.” He nervously said.
And hot damn I’m sweating like a pig.
“What’s with you rich people and dinner meetings?” I joked awkwardly, trying to ease myself up.
“Just go with me and I swear everything will be alright. He seemed calm when he called me up so I guess he’s okay with it. Though I’m totally mad at him with all this Amanda shenanigans but if he’s okay with what we have, then I might have to rethink forgiving him.” He smiled as he assured me.
“Like I have any other choice.” I smiled softly. “One of these days, that Amanda will have a piece of my mind! I swear on my dead cat, Mr. Winkles.”
He chortled. “She’ll get what she deserves, Allibear.” He said before he leaned for a kiss.
I welcomed it and kissed him back.
He pulled back, knowing that he had successfully teased me, and smirked.
“Asshole!” I quipped, smacking his arm. He just laughed it off before getting back to work.
I was left on the booth with the thought of the dreaded dinner at the Salvatore’s. Vanessa isn’t a problem, heck she’d back me up in a blink of an eye. It’s the parents I’m worried about.
I swear! Problems are like Phoenixes! They kept on rising up the ashes! Immortal bitches!
And I don’t have a good feeling about that dinner. One thing I know about his dad, is that he’s a smart man, he knows how to play his cards well, and he has tons of tricks up his sleeve so I’m not gonna let my guard down.
Bring it on!!!
