Allister’s POV

Another date night! Thrilled? Yes! Nervous? HELL YEAH!

It has been yes and no between me and him.

It’s like I want to pounce on top of him but still I have to restrain because I don’t want him to be disgusted of me. Sure he said he liked kissing me, I did too. But again it feels so wrong taking advantage of his confusion.

Having him kiss me is more than enough.

My phone buzzed, snapping me out of thoughts. Seriously, I don’t know what I’ve been thinking the past days. My mind was all over the place.

I quickly snatched it from the counter top and answered the call.

“Hello?”

“Alli! Where are you? I told you the date is at eight!” It was Vincent and he was panicking. I told him that I will meet him at Bistro Thomas rather than him going here. I glanced at the clock and it was fifteen minutes before eight. OH FUDGE BROWNIES!

“Sorry, I didn’t notice the time. I’ll be there!” I rubbed my temples and quickly ran to my bedroom to get ready.

“I’m already on my way to pick you up! You are making me nervous! I thought you ditched me!” He said in disbelief.

“Sorry again. I’m gonna hang up, I need to get ready.”

“WHAT?! Okay okay, I’m sorry for raising my voice. I’m just ten times nervous this time. Vanessa is not gonna be there and there are these scenarios of what might happen later that just kept playing on and on and…”

“Breathe Vinny! I’m gonna be there and everything will be okay. We can pull this off. Okay? Take care and I’ll see you.” That’s when I hang up and threw my phone on the bed.

I got to my bathroom and took the fastest shower in the world.

I got out and my doorbell rang.

“Coming!” I shouted as I walked to the door while drying off my hair with my towel.

“Alli!” He greeted but stopped as I opened the door. He just stood there in his suit and stared at me.

Oh gosh!

A sudden surge of blood rushed to my face. I was only wearing a towel around my waist.

“I’ll just get dressed.” I said as I rushed off again to my bedroom and slammed my bedroom door shut.

“Never knew you were that sexy.” He tried sounding flirty but he choked mid-sentence.

My blush deepens as I put on my pants and got a red dress shirt. I put on my grey suit and didn’t bother wearing a tie. I got off the room and he stood up from the sofa. He again stared at me, his eyes glimmered with awe.

“Stop staring at me like that.” I told him, pretending to be irritated by it.

“I never saw you look this good before.” He said as he got close to me and he placed his hands on my cheek. He leaned closer as I stood stunned. “Relax.”

“Uhh…” Was all that I could say.

He pulled back with a cocky grin. “You need to be better than that Alli!” He reminded.

I shook my head and sighed. “You’re impossible.” I chuckled and walked towards him. I grabbed his hand and let our fingers entwine.

“Alli, you do know you’re holding my hand.” He glanced at our hands and back to me. Pigments of red started to show in his cheeks. It just added to his cuteness. If only this was real and not just a pretention.

“I know. Is it bothering you?” I copied his grin a while ago.

“Actually it doesn’t.” He smiled as he tightened his grip. “Let’s go?”

I just nodded my head and we headed off to the restaurant.

“Allister.” He called my name as we stood in front of the building.

“Yep?”

“Whatever happens tonight, I want you to still be my best friend, okay?”

I looked at him and he was staring at the door.

I placed my hand over his shoulder and gave it an assuring press. “Of course.”

He looked at me and smiled. “Well then, let’s face the demon spawn and her brother.”

We got in and the smell of sophistication and grandeur greeted us. The golden vine detailing with grapes decorated the whole wall of the restaurant. The room was lighted by chandeliers adorned with what seems like diamonds. Everyone was wearing their finest pieces of clothing or so that’s what I thought. The gents looks dapper while the ladies prim and elegant. They move in such class and as if there was a manual I forgot to read because they were moving in almost the same way.

I suddenly felt small. I wasn’t raise in this kind of environment and I’m not used to having dinner in places like this. This was even much classier than Gallant. Mind you that Gallant was also this high-end resto. But just the feel of this place gives your wallet so much pain.

“Well hello there!” Amanda greeted in her red cocktail dress. I was so busy staring at all the intricate details of the area that I had forgotten that we were already near the table.

“Hi, I’m Maxwell.” A cutie with a cutie cute cute smile laid his hand for a handshake.

“I’m Allister.” I said as my voice shook. Wow, it is getting hot in here.

I know that wasn’t the right time to flirt but he was hot! H-O-T, HAWT!

As I was about to shake his hand Vincent butted in.

“And I’m Vincent, the boyfriend.” Vincent said as he shook Maxwell’s hand and glared at him.

Oh, somebody is getting jealous, but then again, he might be acting.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know you two were a couple.” He smiled sheepishly.

“Well, you should.” He warned as he let’s go and sat down.

I sat down beside him and gave Maxwell an apologetic smile. And he smiled back. UGH! He’s so charming. Oh wait! I have a boyfriend. Allister you are such a flirt!

“So, since you guys just got acquainted with each other, I was thinking of getting to know each other more.” Amanda said as she taps her fingers on the table.

“What do you mean?” Vince asked.

“By that I mean, we should have separate dates. You know, me and you, Alli and Max.” She said with all the evil in the world seeping out her mouth.

I could feel Vincent’s rage. His hand grabbed mine and he pressed it tightly.

“No. Like I’ve said, Allister is mine.” He barked in a tone only audible to us.

Territorial. Was this really acting? Because now, I’m slowly believing it.

“Hush hush Vincent, it’s just for tonight. Please… I promise to not bug you again, if you still feel the same way about me at the end of the night.” She placed her hand on top of Vince’s making him shudder.

He sighed. “Fine. Just so long as you keep your part of the deal.”

“Oh yes! I will definitely stop if you still don’t like me.” She smiled evilly, knowing that there is a catch.

“So shall we?” Maxwell stood up and asked for my hand.

I stared at it, baffled.

“Wait! Where are you two going?” Vincent growled.

“We’re going out on our date. We don’t want to interrupt you guys.” Maxwell confidently said.

“Let them go, Vincent.” Amanda said.

He heaved a sigh. “Fine.” He then glared at me.

“I’ll be alright. I hope you’ll survive her. I’ll call you as soon as we’re done with this charade.” I leaned to him and whispered it to his ear.

WAIT!!!! Why are we acting so serious now? We are not legit! We’re just acting out! But why does it feel that he was mine, and I was his?

“Alright.” He said before his lips brushed mine.

I blushed and my body shivered. I felt electricity shoot through my veins.

He smiled and let me go with Maxwell.

I took Maxwell’s hand and walked out with him.

There was this awkwardness between us. I’m pretty sure his sister just put him up on this.

“I feel sorry for you.” I told him bluntly as we walked on the streets going to the park.

He chose that we have it on the park since it was the least awkward place we could go to get to know each other.

He looked at me puzzled.

“What I meant was, I feel sorry because to put up with this.” I said pointing at us.

He smiled. “You think that I don’t like going out with guys?”

“Well, yeah.”

“See, that’s why I never got a boyfriend before.” He chuckled.

I stared at him with my eyes wide. He’s gay?! WHOA!

This is a super bad thing!

“That was exactly what I saying. They always see me as an intimidating straight guy who just wants to play. Not as a serious gay guy who just wants to be loved.” He said with a hurt smile. “To be frank, I envy you and Vincent. You guys look so perfect. And if it wasn’t for my sister blackmailing me, I wouldn’t try and ruin you guys.”

I smiled at him and held his hands. “You know, I just had a great idea for a date.”

I don’t know what I was doing but suddenly I felt differently about Maxwell. He was nice. Just hurt. He was having way worse than me. So I think I’ll just have to make him happy just for the night.

I like him, but it was nowhere near how I felt with Vincent. But with him I could feel that there is a greater chance of having a relationship. Then again I just met him. If only it is possible for Vincent and I to work things out.

“What?” He furrowed his brows.

“Let’s go to my apartment.” I happily offered.

His eyes popped. “Aren’t we moving a little fast? And besides Vincent might throw a fit.”

“Perv!” I accused as he chuckled. “I just want to show you what I do for a living, I mean if you want to.”

“I would love to.” He said as he hailed a cab and we made our way to my apartment.

We talked a bit more about ourselves as we waited in traffic.

He was a business major and he is currently working in his dad’s company. He’s two years older than me and he likes to watch plays in his past time. Plus travelling around the world was on his bucket list.

We arrived in front of my apartment building and got up to my floor.

“Wow, I’ve never been in an apartment before.” He admitted.

His honesty and innocence was sexy. WHAT? I’m in a pretend relationship with my best friend so I see nothing wrong with flirting with Maxwell. Oh and he wants to be called Max rather than Maxwell.

We entered my crib and there he made himself comfortable on my couch.

“It must be fun living on your own and not having yourself get spoon-fed by maids.” He said with smile on his cute face.

“Really? How’d you say so?” I asked him as I removed my coat and placed it on the couch. I folded my sleeves and motioned him to do the same.

“Well I really work hard for everything but it seems that everyone sees it as the work of my dad. Like for example, I was promoted in my office because of my hard work and efforts but most of them see it that my dad just gave it to me because I was his son. Working hard under the shadow of my dad never did pay off, it didn’t matter.” He flashed a painful smile. “I wanna try to live like this.”

Wow, to think that he has it easy with all the money and power his family has. I guess he and Vincent has something in common.

Has the money, but no happiness.

“Trust me it’s no fun. Bills, bills, and more bills.” I told him, trying to ease the tensed moment.

He walked in front of me and asked. “What are gonna do now?”

He was trying to avoid the topic, so I let him. “We are going to bake cookies. I want you to taste my homemade cookies.”

He smirked. “Alright. Sounds fun.”

So we got our apron on and we got started preparing the ingredients.

“So Alli, how long were you and Vincent together?”

Here goes the questioning! I hope that whatever answer I give will be the same with Vince. This might be a part of their plan. But Max is such a good guy that he might be asking this out of curiosity.

“We’ve been dating since college so I guess five years. We never give labels on what we really are. We just love each other’s company.” I answered.

“I would love to be with someone like that.” He said as he mixed the batter. “Alli, hypothetically speaking, would like someone like me?”

“Of course. You’re nice, and you are more human than most guys. You are not afraid to show how you feel.” I told him and that made him smile.

“Thank you.” Was all he said and I smiled back in return.

Other than the kilnks and klanks of the utensils and the noise of the cars passing through outside, it was silent.

I glanced at him every now and then and as if he was in deep thought.

And as he passed me the bowl I took the chance to ask him. “Is something bothering you?”

“Could we go out more? I know you have Vincent but I feel comfortable with you. I mean, we could be friend at least.” He said as he exhaled as if a thorn has been pulled out of his chest.

“I’m sure Vincent won’t mind.” I beamed at him. Sure he won’t, but maybe he will since I’ll have to come out to him. But I couldn’t let this opportunity pass. Max is great guy and I love his company. Other than the fact the Amanda is his sister, everything about him was fine.

“Ok, that’s good.” He sighed and smiled.

I placed the dough and on the oiled tray before placing in the oven.

We placed our aprons on the hook before going to the living room to sit on the couch and rest.

“Your job is fun.” He commented.

“You could say that. But when you have 25 different orders, then you tell me if that’s fun.” I chortled.

“I could help you put up a business, with people and stuff.” He offered.

“Vincent tried that already and I didn’t let him, so thanks, but no thanks.”

“No plans of expanding the business?”

“I have, just that I could still pay my rent, live the way I wanted to, and I’m with what I have, so I don’t see that it is necessary.”

“Guess so. Do you…” He was going to say something but I cut him off because my phone rang.

“Hold that thought.” I told him before I got fished my phone out of my coat.

It was Vincent.

“Sup?”

“Don’t Sup me! Where are you? I need to talk to you! I’ve had it with that girl! Our date just ended but sure as hell I’m pissed!” He growled harshly on the other end that I have to pull the phone away from my ears.

“I’m in my apartment and…”

“Good, I’m coming over, Bye.” He cuts in and hangs up before I could tell him that Max is here.

I just stared at my phone.

“He called, right? So I better go.” Max said. I could feel the disappointment in his voice.

“No, stay. We haven’t had our date yet. The cookies aren’t done and so is our date. Besides, I love to see him jealous.” I told him and joked about the last part.

He chuckled. “Okay. He’s going to be pissed.”

“Pissed is an understatement.” I sighed. “Guess your sister really did push him off the edge.”

“She always does that with everybody. And as much as I know about her, she really likes Vincent. Too bad for her, Vincent doesn’t swing her way.” He placed his hands behind his head and rested.

I just flopped myself on the couch and rested my head on his chest. I don’t know what came over me but I liked it and he didn’t mind. He placed a hand over my head and caressed it.

“You know, I’m so tempted to steal you away from Vincent.” He said endearingly.

Oh how I wish I wasn’t pretending to be with Vincent, ‘cause I would definitely go out with Max.

I love Vincent, but there’s that limit with him. I’m not comfortable being myself with him. Even with this acting thing, I haven’t had any time like this with him, and this feels nice.

Was I falling out of love from my best friend? That is good, right? I mean we are best friends, nothing more nothing less. That’s what he said anyway. Like I’ve said, if only Vincent feels the same way then I’ll be his boyfriend.

“I would go with you if not only for Vincent.” I admitted.

“I feel so comfortable with you.”

“Me too.”

“Doesn’t Vincent make you feel happy?”

“He does, it’s just different. It’s complicated.”

“Okay, I won’t elaborate on it.” He smiled.

We stayed on that position, silently, but nowhere near awkward. He was brushing my hair with his fingers. His other hand was playing with my fingers. It felt blissful. His touch was so gentle that I know I’m safe with him.

And almost at the same, the oven rang and there was a knock on my door.

“You got get the cookies, I’ll get the door.” I sat up and smiled at him. He smiled and nodded before we both stand up and walked in different directions.

I opened the door and Vincent was smiling as he greeted me.

“You don’t know how happy I am to see you.” He told me and engulfed me into a tight hug. I hugged him back.

I pulled away. “I thought you are pissed?”

“I’m not anymore, since you baked me cookies.” He said as he let himself inside.

I closed the door, “About that…” I said as he got into the kitchen and saw Max.

Drama in three, two, one.

“WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING HERE?” He yelled.

This is not going to be good… I shook my head and rushed into the kitchen.

“Alli! Why is this guy here?” He snapped.

“We are still on our date.” I admitted, not wanting to hurt Max.

“Date?! You have a boyfriend for crying out loud!” He just went berserk.

“I should go.” Max said, not wanting to make things worse.

“No… Stay.” I told him.

“LEAVE!” Vincent’s eyes are red as he ordered Max.

Why was he acting weirdly?

“Vince, why don’t you leave instead?” I told him in a menacingly calm tone.

“What? You’ll rather have him here than help me out?” His rage seethed from his mouth.

“You’re being unreasonable!” I pointed out.

“I’m not! You have a boyfriend and you’re having a date with the sibling of the demon spawn!” He spat harshly.

I sighed and gave up. I walked pass him to Max.

“I’m sorry, you have to see all the drama. I’ll just pack the cookies, and I guess we’ll have to say our goodbyes.” I told him. I felt really sad. It’s like what we had a while ago was a dream and I had just woken up.

“It’s alright, I had fun anyway.” He said with sincere smile.

Vincent just glared at us. I ignored him and placed the cookies in a container. I wrapped in my customized plastic wrapper and tied a ribbon to seal in. I attached a card with my contact details on it before handing it to him.

“Call me.” I whispered to him as I handed him the cookies. He smiled and nodded before walking out of the room, brushing his shoulder with Vincent’s.

We heard the door slam and that’s when his glare bore into my skin.

“What is wrong with you?” He started snapping out again.

I ignored him and started cleaning up.

“Do you like him?” His voice was calmer, but still a hint of jealousy was present. “Do you like him more than me?”

Still I didn’t answer.

“You are being immature Alli! You are not even gay! Why does is matter to you that I forced him to leave?” He argued.

That’s it, I can’t take this anymore.

“I’m not being immature Vince! You are! You feel like you’re my boyfriend but you know for a fact that you are not! I’m just being nice with that guy because he knows I’m gay. And I have to play in his terms. I got to know the guy and he was not as bad as you think. And for once I felt secured and loved.” I spat as I started to walk out the room.

“So you are telling me that you like him?” He asked.

I didn’t answer but stopped at my feet.

“Answer me, because I like you Allister! More than just a friend. More than just a best friend. And feels weird enough that I fell in love with a boy, it feels weirder knowing that I feel in love with you, my best friend.” He pleaded for an answer.

He liked me? No… He loves me. Should I believe this?

“What are you saying? You are straight!” I reminded him.

“Maybe I am, but I feel something different with you. You might have known that Alli! I’ve been really unsure of myself the past few days. And maybe if we really tried to have something real, we might just be better off with each other.”

“So what am I, an experiment just for you to know if you are into guys? Forget it.”

“NO! I mean it! I like you, this must be weird for you that I’m coming out on you, but I know that you like me too.” He said and it was obvious in his tone that he was smiling..

“And it’s okay with you?” I asked, turning around to face him.

“Of course it is! So is it a yes? Are we official? No more pretending?” He proudly asked.

I groaned. “Yes!”

And as expected he launched himself at me and hugged me tightly.

“I feel so gay, but I don’t care anymore.” He chuckled. I felt his breathe brushing into my neck, not sensually but because of his sheer joy.

“I thought you said no matter what happens we’ll still be best friends?” I teased.

“After what happened tonight, I don’t think I can stay that way with you. I can’t have any guy take your attention away from me. Your kisses are exclusively for me and me alone.” He faced me and cupped my face as he spoke those words to me. His face was closer to mine and his eyes were locked on mine.

I just nodded and initiated our kiss this time.

Was this really happening? Are we officially together? He accepted me for who I was? All of that in just one day?

“I love you.” He whispered.

“I love you too.”

If today was a dream, then by all means don’t wake me up!

——————————

That was a shocker!

So your feels? Thoughts? Violent reactions?

So if you thought things are going to get better, better think again.

For all I know, that will not be the last time we are going to see Max.

Goal time!!!

I love reading your comments!

Things are getting more and more hectic in College so I don’t if I could update anytime soon, but if you tell me to, I might just squeeze in a chapter or 2 in my free time. 🙂

TA-TA for now, loveys! 😀
