People will hate Max (more) here! I can just feel it.
Featured Character: AllVin (shipname c/o inn_1234)
Song of the Chapter: Stay with me by Sam Smith
—————————————————
“Maybe this is for the best. Some time apart from each other. Some time to think about this. Some time to move on.”
Allister’s POV
Stupid.
That is how I feel right now.
That is how I should feel anyway.
It is really stupid don’t you agree?
Losing your best friend and boyfriend at the same time for someone you just met. Like Elsa said “You can’t marry a man you just met.”
I don’t even know if that made any sense. But yeah, that’s what you get for watching Frozen over and over again. You get all these quotes inside of your head.
Let it go.
Maybe I should let Vinny go.
NO!
That would be another stupid plan.
But it has been a week since we last talked to each other, and I need to make a move if he’s not going to.
I walked out my apartment unit and caught a cab. I was in my Pajamas and my hair is rather unruly today. Maybe I should take a bath anytime now.
After a few turns and stoplights and I’m here.
Salvatore Manor.
Another stupid move if you guys can see, but what am I to do.
I don’t care if I look like a homeless person.
I don’t care if I smell like one either.
I don’t care if his dad would stop me, but come hell or high water, I will fight for him.
I walked to the gate near the box thingy above the doorbell.
“Who’s there?” said a voice in the communication box.
I cleared my throat and said. “Allister Parker.”
“Business?”
“I need to talk to Vincent Salvatore.” I said with my voice shaking.
“I’m sorry Master Vincent has a lunch meeting with Miss Amanda.”
He’s out with Amanda.
It felt like a bullet pierced through my heart and I fell on a bed of nails.
My body turned cold and numb as if my soul left my body.
“Is… is there any chance you would know where they might be?” I stuttered but then vomited the words right out.
“Yes but I’m not allowed to disclose the information to you.” The voice said.
“Oh okay. Thank you.”
I backed away and took one last look at the huge mansion.
“I’m sorry Vincent.”
–
Vincent’s POV
“And so I said, no, purple is the way to go. You know what I mean? Because the color is so regal and we are technically the heirs of our family.” She said in a way only a snotty rich bitch would.
As if I have a choice. Either continue with this and have a life of luxury or don’t continue and end up with nothing. Not even Allister.
It’s been a week now and my mind still drifts into memories of us.
I don’t want it to. I just want everything to fall into place and get things over with.
Let’s just say I’m tired of being played with. First my dad, then Amanda, and now Allister.
How stupid can I be to be fooled and played with over and over again?
I don’t even know.
“Vincent!”
I snapped out of my stupor. “Yeah?”
“You’ve been staring at your phone the whole time I was talking about our wedding.” She pointed out. “Is there a problem?”
“No, just been lacking sleep lately. Sorry.” I waved a hand at her and gave a fake smile. “Would you excuse me for a moment?” I asked.
“Sure sure.” She said with uncertainty traced in her expression, but agreed nonetheless
I got up and went to the restroom.
Though I broke things off with Alli and me, I never really heard his side of the story.
Should I call him?
I dialled his number as I try and come up with an excuse for calling him.
It wasn’t ringing, the line just went dead.
And then it hit me. Is he alright?
Of course he is! He’s not that stupid to end his life just because I left him.
Maybe he forgot to charge his phone last night or maybe it was stolen or maybe he’s…
NO!
Fuck! I got myself all paranoid now but I can’t show my face in his apartment and make a fool of myself worrying about nothing.
Then again, what if something really did happen?
NO!
UGH!
I ran a hand through my hair and heaved a sigh. I got out the restroom and sat back at our table.
“You’ve been there a while. You sure you’re okay?” She asked while glancing at me and back to her phone.
“Yup. Just having those moments.” I said, shifting uncomfortably in my seat.
“Whatever. Anyway as I was saying, I was looking for someone to bake our wedding cake. I want it to be original. It doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be expensive but I want it to be elegant and it should taste expensive. You know what I mean?” She said as her hands waved as if she was sprinkling fairy dust.
And boom! An idea hit me in the head.
“Allister bakes.” I said.
“So?” She said with bitterness in her tone.
“So, he can give you a suggestion on how the cake would look and taste like.” I said as I took a bite of my Sirloin steak, trying to look like I have no hidden agenda.
“Alright, he’s your best friend anyway so I’ll give it a try but I’m not promising anything.” She said as nonchalantly as if she was so secure.
“I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.” I told her and she just shrugged it off.
Not because I’m his best friend that I say that he’s amazing, but he really is. There’s nothing he baked that I didn’t love.
That made me felt better, and now I have a reason to see him without looking stupid.
We finished our lunch together, and God it was long!
She was chatting a lot about the same things over and over again. Wedding this, Business that! But I have to keep up if I wanted to live with him.
Oh… that’s right. We’re through.
After dropping her off, I went to Alli’s apartment to tell him about the cake thing and to check up on him.
I ran up to his floor and knocked on his door. I tried to contain my excitement because I only wanted to see him, nothing more nothing less.
Like his phone, there was no one answering. And my worry grew.
I knocked again, and even called his name. Still, no answer.
From there, I don’t know what to do. Have a lost him for good?
–
Allister’s POV
In my rush to get here I forgot my wallet in my apartment along with my keys. I didn’t know how I paid the taxi man. I’m not really sure if I paid him.
So back to what I was saying, I have to walk home now and my feet are killing me!
I have this whole bed ensemble as I strut the streets of Ashton. Great, right?
With all of the crazy and pity stares that I’ve been getting it’s like I’m Justin Bieber walking with the pope or something.
Anyway, it wasn’t until I was walking near my apartment block that I was forced to turn myself back and walk away with what I saw.
Vincent’s car is parked in front of my apartment.
I was so eager to meet him a while ago but now, not too much. I guess the adrenaline got me pumped then.
I walked back slowly only to bump with the person who I don’t need to see right now, given this situation.
“Whoa, Alli!” Max said in content. “I was just about to visit you. You were not answering my calls. Your phone has been dead for days and I was getting worried.”
I backed away to make sure he doesn’t get a whiff of me but for sure he already caught my scent. “Yeah, about that, you see, my phone is broken.” I said as I nervously scratched the back of my head.
“Oh, I can lend you one of mine if you like.” He offered as he fished his coat jacket for the said spare phone.
I waved a hand in dismissal. “No it’s fine. I’m planning to buy one anyways.”
“You know, you don’t have to be shy with me.” He said with that charming smile.
I looked at my panda slippers to divert my gaze away from his charm. “I know.”
“Then take this, you can return whenever you need to. I just need some way to contact you.” He said as he handed his phone in my hand.
“Thanks.”
“So, are we just gonna stand here and chat or will you invite me in?” He said, chuckling.
“I can’t. Vincent is… I’m not sure though, but that is his car right there.” I pointed at the Yellow Camaro parked in front of my apartment.
“Oh… So you’re planning to stay out here until he goes home?” He asked with cocked brow.
“Sounds like a plan, right?” I sighed as slumped on the sidewalk.
He sat beside me. “I’ll stay here with you, if you don’t mind.”
Like I have any choice.
“Sure.”
He cleared his throat. “So I’m guessing you two are not in good terms?”
“Yes.” I said timidly.
“I’m sorry. I know it all has to do with me.” He said.
“Yes, it does.” I accused, jokingly.
He chuckled. “I want to make it up to you.”
I turned to look at him and he was smiling at me.
“Why don’t you and I go get some lunch together? My treat.” He offered.
As I was about to say no, my stomach answered for me.
“I take that as a yes.” He chuckled as he patted my tummy. He stood up. “C’mon, I’ll let you take a shower in my pad first. You kinda reek.”
I do agree. I stood up and took one last look at his car before going with Max.
I’m sorry.
I thought I had the guts to talk to you and work this out, but to be honest, I just wanted to feel better. I know talking to you and try to work things out won’t do you any good.
Maybe this is for the best. Some time apart from each other. Some time to think about this. Some time to move on.

Vincent’s POV
I rushed down the stairs and got to my car. I know who to ask in times like this.
Jess.
I revved my car and went my way to the bar where Jess is working.
And to my eyes delight, not, I saw Alli with Max. He was still in his pajamas, messy hair, and happy.
Could it mean that they are together?
A scream snapped me out, only to realize I was about to hit a lady crossing the street. I quickly stepped on the breaks and went out of the car to help the lady out. Her groceries were on the ground.
“I’m so sorry about that ma’am.” I apologized.
“It’s fine, just watch where you’re going next time.” She said.
“I will. Sorry.” I said as we got up and I handed her the other bag of groceries.
As the lady left, I turned back to my car but my attention was grabbed by Allister, who was trying to cover his face as he talked to Max.
Max saw me looking at them and probably told Alli that I already saw them. Alli, then, put down his cover and looked at me with guilty eyes.
I averted my gaze and went to ride my car when Alli yelled my name.
“Vince!”
I looked back to him and he looked both ways before he crossed the street.
I don’t know what to do. Should I just leave? I was ready a while ago but this time it was different. I was caught off guard.
Before I could even decide what to do, he was in front of me.
He just stared at me. His eyes were red and tired but still it gleamed with joy. He shifted in his spot quite a few times before speaking.
“Sorry.” His voice shook.
I played dumb. “For what?”
“C’mon, I know you know what I’m sorry for.” He pleaded.
“Actually, was it for lying to me? Or for cheating on me?” I quipped.
“Both.” He timidly said. “But hear me out.”
“I’ve got to go somewhere.” I lied as tried to enter my car.
He placed a hand on the car door.
“I saw your car parked in front of my apartment building. I know you wanted to talk to me.” He said.
Shit.
“I… I did, but now there are things I need to do, and so, uhm, yeah.” I stuttered as tried to open my door. His hand won’t let me.
“You are so not good with lying.” He commented.
“Yeah, I forgot, I was talking to is a master at it.”
“Touche.” He said. “Can we please just talk?”
“Like I have any choice. Hop in. I don’t want to be in the presence of that guy.” As I was to point at Max, he was not there. He probably left.
“I told him to go.” He said.
“Okay.” I said. “Go. Ride.”
He nodded and rushed to the other side
He hopped in the other side of the car.
His smell was undeniably stench, but it smells like roses to me.
His appearance looked so unattractive, and yet I wanted him all to myself.
The look in his eyes was heart breaking and all my heart can do is crumble in his stare.
As much as I wanted to push him away, I kept on pulling myself in.
A honk snapped me out of the trance that I was in.
No other car was behind mine, so it must’ve been Allister.
I got in the car and saw him containing his laugh.
“Not funny.” I told him.
“I didn’t mean it to be funny, but your reaction was priceless.” He said, as his laugh seeps through his words.
I shrugged him off, trying to ignore the butterflies fluttering in my stomach and the curve trying to form on my lips.
I shifted my car to drive and we were off to somewhere I don’t know yet.
As the car moved, the air got tensed.
None of us spoke.
None of us even tried to make a sound.
Only the sound of the traffic outside and the song that was playing on the radio was all that was keeping things a little bit less awkward.
It was until our eyes met and all silence was shattered.
We chuckled together.
His crazy hair and hobo smell somewhat made me laugh.
“This traffic is taking too long.” He said as we were stuck in the middle of traffic in the center of the city. “Where are we going anyway?”
“I don’t know.”
“You don’t? Then why are we here?” He asked with slight irritation.
“I don’t know.”
“Is that what you’ll say the whole trip long? ‘cause if it is, then I’ll just go.” He was irritated.
“My head is fucked up, you know.” I snapped. “I can’t think straight nor can I sleep peacefully at night.”
He gasped sarcastically. “Haven’t you seen how I look? I look like a homeless person. And the worst part of this is that I smell like one too. Wanna know why? It’s because I’ve been feeling stupid since that night. I haven’t been functioning well since that thing happened.”
“I stupidly threw phone in my own frustration. I stupidly ate cereal with powdered milk. I stupidly watched Frozen for every possible hour. I can’t do anything right.” He fumed but it wasn’t directed at me. He was fuming mad at himself.
I felt pity for him. I fought the urge to fold and submit to him.
I tightened the grip on the steering wheel and tried not to look at him.
“I felt like you never wanted to hear me out. You just believe the things you wanted to. It’s like you don’t even care whatever the reason behind it might be.”
“Then tell me.” I told sternly, holding myself together.
He looked surprised at first, but then he sat up straight.
“Amanda set that photo up. She had Max and I followed that night.” He said in a sad tone. “Everything was okay until he got flirty. My fault here is that I played in his game.”
He took a moment before continuing. “Then after that he lunged over the table and kissed me.”
My body felt hot. I burned with jealousy and anger.
“Vince, I never wanted the kiss. I never wanted things to happen like that. I never wanted this to happen to us.” He said.
“Ask Max where he is.” I ordered.
“Why?”
“Just ask him.”
He did as I told him without any question.
“He’s at tenth street.”
That’s not far away from here.
“Okay.”
“What are you doing?” He asked as I turned the car around. He was scared.
I didn’t reply.
“Vince! Don’t do anything stupid!”
Too late. My rage is overflowing and it needs to be exhausted.
Within minutes and a few scolds from Alli, I saw him. I parked my car and got down.
“Max!” I called him before rushing to him
He turned around only to meet my fist.
He fell to the ground. “Don’t you ever violate my best friend’s space ever again.”
He rubbed his jaw and smirked. “Best friend? Really? Are you really his best friend?” He taunted.
I took a step back.
“I knew it. It seems that the tables have turned, right?” His smirk grew. “What would happen to you if your dad finds out about this?”
I couldn’t speak. He has hold on me.
Alli got out of the car and stepped in the middle of us.
“Oh, that’s right. No more cars, no more money, no daddy’s love. Am I right?” He said as he took a step forward.
Alli looked concerned at me.
“Max what are you doing?” Alli said.
“Putting him into his place.” Max said.
I knew he has this other side. I just never thought that he is as evil as Amanda.
“Your move Vince. Alli, or everything you two have pretended for.” Max wagered. “I can keep a secret, you know. And I know how to use them in my favor.”
“Do what you want, I don’t care what it is, but I’ve lost Alli once, and that’s enough for me to know what’s he’s worth.” I said.
“Last chance to change your mind.” Max said.
I didn’t respond and just stared right in his eyes.
“Fine. Expect the consequences of your actions tomorrow.” He said as he turned his back away from us and walked away.
“Why did you do that?” Alli asked concernedly.
“Because you are more important than anything in this world.” I said as I looked at his concerned gaze.
Teardrops started to linger in his eyes. “I’m so sorry you have to suffer because of me.”
“With or without you in my life, I was planned to marry her. I was just lucky enough to have you. You are my savior.” I told him as I cupped his face and thumbed his tears away. “You came into my life and everything was brighter. So please, stay with me.”
Without a second thought, he hugged me tightly. “I will! I always will!”
I hugged him back. “I’m sorry I ever doubted you.”
“I’m sorry too. I never meant to hurt you. And it always happens because of my own mistakes.” He said in between sobs.
“It doesn’t matter how many times you commit mistakes, as long as you learn from them.” I said. “And no matter how many times you’ll hurt me, I’ll still be here, loving you.”
His hug tightened. “I love you Vinny!”
“I love you too, Allibear.”
Soon, everything will be gone, but I’ll still have Allister.

Max’s Evil POV
How could that even happen? UGH! I should’ve rape the heck out of Allister and took a video of it as proof. BUT NOOOOOO! I was so in love with the guy that I couldn’t even do that!
Fuck this! Hate me or love me, he still can’t be mine as long as Vincent is in the picture.
“Amanda, he’s still not yours.”
“What do you mean?” She said as confusion struck her.
“They’re back together. I don’t even know what the hell happened, but we must up our game.” I said.
“Then take Allister somewhere far, or something. I don’t know! I just want him out of Vincent’s sight!” Amanda ranted.
“When is the wedding again?” I asked.
“In about less than a month from now, why?” She was baffled.
“We’ll have to act normal, as if we don’t know anything about them getting back together.” I said.
“Why???”
“It’s easier to fool them that way. We’ll play their game and then we’ll strike at the perfect time.”
“Whatever. But make sure that it would work.” She shrugged, but then she looked back at me with a curious look. “What is your plan anyway?”
“Take him away a day before the wedding.” I said in confidence.
“Oh! That typical ‘before the wedding kdinap’ thing, like in the movies.” She was awed.
“Yup.”
“Amazing! No wonder you are my brother.” She clapped her hands in respect of my greatness. “Thank you, Maxxy!”
She hugged me and I just pat her back in return. “That’s what siblings are for, they help each other out.”
Phase 2 will unfold soon. *insert evil laugh*

Whew! This is a fast chapter to read but I was too slow to update. HAHAHA!
I’ve been juggling work, my lovelife, and writing.
Hope you guys will still hold on to TRG! If I’m not mistaken, there will be only a few chapters left for TRG. (UGH, I’ve lost my chapter guides.) 🙁
But I know where to steer the story so I might add or delete a few chapters from the original plot since it disappeared like magic.
Don’t forget to vote, and comment your thoughts on this chapter! I love you all!!! :*
