The question now is… Who’s plan?

Featured Character: Allister

Song of the Chapter: I knew you were trouble (cover) by Boyce Avenue

I chose the song specifically for the chorus. :))

——————————————————-

Allister’s POV

“I’ll be that knight in shining armor you’re dreaming of.”

There I was sitting in one of the cloth covered round tables, staring at the gigantic flower centrepiece while my prince charming was busy being introduced to everyone in the Engagement Party.

Tonight is the night we execute Phase 1of our plan…

“So here’s the plan.” Vinny stated firmly. “I’ll pretend to be interested about the wedding, telling them all that you and I were just an act to try and defy my father’s order.”

I gaped at what he said.

“Don’t worry! I’ll still live with you.” He cupped my chin and placed a soft kiss on my lips. I smiled as he parted our lips. “So they’ll think that we’re just best friends helping each other out.”

“Alright. So this engagement thing, won’t you be bound to her most of the time? And isn’t it illegal to leave her on the wedding day?” I concernedly asked. I heard from one friend that you’ll have to pay for the morale damages and stuff. I don’t want that happening to Vince.

“Don’t worry about a sweat. I’ll risk everything just to have my life with you.” He leaned closer to my face and whispered those words ever so sweetly.

“Then let’s do this.” I eagerly said, but my worry lingered in between the lines.

So that’s the plan. Ride along this wedding charade.

But it wasn’t as easy as it sounds. Sitting here alone in the sea of the rich and the famous isn’t as exciting as it sounds. Most of these people talks so seriously! I mean c’mon! You’re in a party, the least that you can do is talk about the stock market or who had her new boob job.

“Having a good time?” A familiar blond guy said as he sat down beside me.

“Splendid!” I cheered sarcastically as I swirled the wine in one of the wine glasses.

He chuckled lightly. “So I heard that you and Vince just played an act all along.”

I raised a brow at him.

He chuckled again before continuing. “That means you’re single.”

“Yeah… thanks for that Capt. Obvious.” I deadpanned.

“Aren’t you in a sour mood! C’mon, I’ll take you somewhere fun.” He grabbed my wrist and pulled me up my seat.

“Vince might come looking for me.” I said as he dragged me out of the gigantic tent just outside the Laurentis’ backyard.

Oh, if you’re wondering how big their land is, think of a theme park.

“So? Just text him. You’re dying in there.” He pointed out as we were out the tent.

“Fine!” I huffed, fishing my phone out my pocket before texting Vincent.

AlliBear: “Vin-vin, I’ll just go get some air.”

Vin-vin: “Just saw you got out with Max.”

AlliBear: “It’s not what it seems. I’ll explain later.”

Vin-vin: “You better. I love you!”

AlliBear: “I love you too. :*”

I placed my phone back to my pocket and sighed.

And as I directed my attention to where we were going, I was surprised to see that we were in the garage.

“What are we doing here?” I asked, slightly scared of what he’s going to do.

“I’m gonna rape the living daylights out of you.” He said in a devilish grin. I should’ve listened to Vinny! This guy is no good!

He walked menacingly slow to me. And I took a step back every step forward he took. My back met the wall.

“Back away or else I’ll scream!” I threatened. Very manly, Allister!

He bursted out laughing.  “Sheesh! Allister, do you really think I’d do that to you?” He clasped his stomach as he bent down laughing.

“Jerk!” I told him as I walked pass him.

He tugged on my arm. “I’m sorry, I just thought you could take a joke. You’re too uptight tonight.” He told me as I turned to shoot daggers at him.

But there it was again, the sincere glaze in his stare. It weakened the anger stirring up inside me.

“I should be the one apologizing. I’m just not in the mood.” I told him as every bubbling anger simmered down.

“That’s why I’m here! We are leaving this place and going clubbing!” He cheered.

“You don’t have to cheer me up, and besides Vincent might worry if I’m gone for too long.”

“He won’t. He’s busy meeting new people at that party.” He snorted.  “And I promise to bring you back to your apartment in one piece. Please!” He begged.

“Alright! But this is just because you are too persistent.” I smiled at him.

What the heck are you doing Allister?! Snap out of your trance! You have a boyfriend! And it’s for real this time!

His smile widened. “So let’s have our first official date, then?”

“Date?”

“Yeah, since you’re single now, I was thinking of asking you out on a date. This time it’s for real.” He gleefully said.

Oh fuck my life!

“I…I can’t…”

His smile faltered. “Why not? Did I do something wrong?”

I’m still with Vincent.

“No…” I waved a dismissing hand. “It’s all too complicated right now.”

“Complicated? You mean to say, you’re really in love with Vincent?”

“Well…”

“So that’s why you’re being a sour puss.” He sighed.

“Can we just leave it there? I’m not really comfortable taking about it with you.” I told him as I hugged myself.

“Fine, but you are still gonna come with me. No more clubbing, I’m thinking a nice dinner would be better. What do you say?” He offered.

“Okay.” A short unsure reply came out. I don’t know what I’m doing again. It’s like Maxwell is my Kryptonite. Even with this plan with Vincent, I’m really feeling like a free man. It’s like it is all true, that he’s gonna marry Amanda. Well, that was the plan… Marry her, and then leave her at the altar. What if that doesn’t happen? What would happen to me?

Max grinned before leaning closer. “Don’t worry about a thing, I’ll take care of it.”

“Well, you should. You’re the one who asked me out in the first place.” I smirked.

Shit! Stop it Allister!

“Then let’s go. I want to break that shell you’re hiding in.” His grin grew wider.

“Who says I’m hiding? Maybe I’m just playing hard to get.” I smiled but deep inside I slapped myself.

“Then I think I have to step up my game.” He said with wolfish smile.

He walked through the garage of cloaked cars and stopped at one of the smaller vehicles.

He uncovered the car and what I saw shocked me. It’s a Mini Cooper. And it is Red and White! Just like what Vincent drives. Oh if you are wondering if Vincent got his privileges back, the answer is no. Well, not yet. After this not is done, Vincent’s dad will be giving back his car privileges and open his bank account again. But as planned, he will still be living with me.

“Flies might go inside your mouth if you keep that open.” He chortled as he pointed at my open mouth, which I didn’t realize was hanging wide open.

I closed it and checked if there is any saliva dripping out, and thank goodness I was saved from further humiliation.

I walked closer to him and the Cooper and I kept my eye on the car as made my way.

“Why are you looking at it like that?” He asked as he pressed something that opened the garage door.

“It just reminded me of something.” I said as I diverted my gaze to his face. I beamed at him, but deep down I was being beaten up by my conscience. “Let’s go?”

He nodded and opened the door for me and as I entered he made his way on the other side. And we went on our way out the party.

We decided to have coffee instead of having dinner, since it was way past dinner time and we already ate in the party.

“I’ve noticed you’ve been silent all this time. Is everything alright?” He opened before taking a sip of his Espresso.

All this time, Vincent kept on running in my mind but I can’t expose our plans to Max, so I have to keep playing this game. And I think I’m beginning to lose.

“I’m just not in the mood to be cheery.” I said as I took a sip of my Caramel Macchiato.

“Though we’ve been together twice, I’m not used to seeing you like this. I missed the sweet, flirty, and happy you.” He gave half a smile.

“I’m still that guy, not sure about the sweet thing but yeah, I’m still flirty and happy.” I joked and laughed at myself.

Yeah, I know, pitiful.

“There it is! The happy you.” He beamed at me. “Now, how to pull out the sweetness hiding in you?” He placed a finger on his chin and rubbed it as if he was in deep thought.

“I can be sweet. I just don’t feel it right now. “ I teased with a sly grin.

“Challenge accepted.” He confidently said as he placed his cup on the table.

“What challenge?” I furrowed my brows.

“The challenge of making you mine.” His reign of confidence suddenly became a very attractive asset of his.

“That makes no…” And his lips crashed with mine and cut me off.

All of what made sense to me was a blur. The gentleness in his kiss melted those hesitations I was feeling. And in that very moment, I lost all sense of control.

He pulled away. “What were you saying?” He said as he bit his lips lustfully.

I swiped my tongue across my lips and as his taste lingered in my tongue, an image of Vincent appeared in my head. And everything came crashing down on me. I just cheated on him.

“Oh fuck! Fuck no! No, no, no!” I whispered to myself as I shook my head in exasperation.

“Hey, hey… what’s the matter?” Max came to me side and caressed my head. “I’m so sorry I came up on you like that.”

“Everything’s fine.” I assured him as I continue to mentally slap myself. “It’s me who’s fucked up.”

“You? I don’t get it.” He was baffled.

“I love Vincent and this was wrong but it felt right. UGH!” I groaned hoarsely.

He chuckled which made me look at him. “I totally understand but you have to let go of him now. He’s gonna marry my sister, and even if he’s not going to, he’s straight. A straight guy never falls for one of us, unless they need something from us.” He said. “But unlike other guys who fall in love with a straight guy, you have me. I’ll be that knight in shining armor you’re dreaming of.” His hand gently crossed my cheek to my chin. He cupped it and placed a soft feathery kiss on my lips.

But it wasn’t the case. It was never the case. Vincent isn’t straight. He’s totally gay for me. And I know he’ll never use me for his own good. He’s my knight in shining armor and I was his. Making this mistake isn’t going to change anything.

“No you don’t understand. As much as I want to love you, I can’t. He’s my knight in shining armor. Always have and always will be.” I replied

He snorted a laugh. “You’re crazy. Anyway, let’s go for a walk. All this talking is stressing enough.” He said and the hurt in his voice can’t be ignored.

I nodded.

“I’ll try even harder.” He stated.

I was confused. “Try harder?”

“With you. You’re an investment I’m not willing to give up.” He said as he got up and buttoned his coat.

“I’m telling you that it’s not going to be easy.”

“I’m playing at an all or nothing here, so there’s nothing to lose.” He smiled as he offered his hand out to me.

I accepted it and stood up my seat before walking the streets of Ashton.

So we walked and chatted the whole night long. He shared his stories with me and I gladly listened to each and every word he said. I shared a couple of mine and tried to avoid any topic that involves Vincent. And as we head back to the café parking lot, on cue, my phone rang.

I fished my phone out and it was Vincent. “I got to answer this, hold on.”

Max just nodded and walked towards the car.

“Hello.”

“Good news Allibear!” He exclaimed.

“What is it?”

“I got my cars back!”

“Wow! That’s great news!”

“So where are you? I’ll pick you up and we’ll have a road trip.”

“Uhm, I’m still with Max, but we’re heading back to the party.”

“Stay there and tell me where you are, you’re not coming back here with that guy.” He snarled.

“You don’t need to worry about a thing…” And as I said those words, the sensation of Max’s kiss tingled in my lips. “I’m perfectly safe, and I’ll meet you there in less than 15 minutes, alright?”

“There’s no use in fighting with you, so okay, I trust you.”

I trust you

His words stung and I flinched. “Good, I’ll see you in while Vin-vin. I love you.”

“I love you too. Bye.” He said before hanging up.

I heaved a deep sigh before turning back to Max, I walked towards his car and he greeted me with a big grin on his face.

“You know, this was the most fun I’ve had since the last date we had.” He said. “Thanks a lot.”

“It’s nothing.” I replied shortly.

“Is everything fine?” He asked concernedly.

“Yup, fine as the weather.”

“It’s kinda cloudy tonight, so I’m guessing there’s a problem.” He pointed out.

Damn the weather today.

I chortled. “I told you, its fine. Nothing to worry about.”

“If you say so. So shall we?” He asked.

“We shall.” I answered as I entered his car.

Nothing was said between us during the trip except when one thing happened.

“Oh shit!” He groaned.

“Don’t you have a spare tire in the trunk?”

“I wouldn’t panic like this if I do.”

“So we’re stuck in this creepy foresty path to your house?”

“Yes, unless you’re hiding a spare tire in your pocket, then we’ll be on our way.” He bit back.

I laughed in response. “Fine. Is this a long walk to your house?”

“Not really, but it’s really scary and dark.”

“We have to walk because Vincent won’t like it if I stay with you the whole night through.”

“Why not? He’s not your boyfriend.”

“Yeah, but he’s such a possessive best friend, which is creepy sometimes.” I lied.

“Then call him to pick us up, because I’m beginning to creep myself out.” His voice was shaking.

I got phone out my pocket and with all the luck in the world, mine was the shittiest. No bars.

“We’re gonna walk our scared arses off.” I sadly said.

“NO!” He grunted.

“Fine, you stay here while I walk back to your house.”

“NO! I’m going with you!” He ran and hugged my arm.

“Alright, then lock your car and we’ll be on our way.”

He locked his car and set off the alarms.

“Can we like run?” He asked as we were slowly following the road to their house.

“We won’t have enough energy if a pack of wolves comes and chase us.” I joked.

“Probably you’re right.”

He was continuously chatting me up and opening random topics as we made our way. Obviously he was really scared, considering that he was clinging on me arm.

It was weird that his touch was so comforting even though he was clinging on to me tightly. I, somehow, felt strong and manly. I rested my head over his and it felt even nicer.

“You’re confusing me Allister.” He opened. “You just told me that you loved him more, but you tend to do sweet things to me. Not that I don’t like it, but it’s just really confusing to me.

“Yeah, I know what you mean.” I told him. “I’m really that complicated.” I chuckled.

“Get your act straight Alli.” I gaped at him. Does he know?! “I don’t want to get my hopes up, and I don’t want yours to go up as well. Vincent is going to be married soon, and even if he loves you, he’s tied. You won’t look good as a home wrecker.”

Whew… wait what? “I’m not gonna ruin anything. I’m not that desperate. If he’s not gonna love me, then I’ll stop. I’m not gonna force myself on him.” My voice was shaky and I felt the anger rising up in me.

“Relax. I’m just saying what I thought. That is because I’m scared of the road and to let another guy win you over.”

I want to say that I like him too, but that’s not fair for him. I want to love him, but I’m, technically, bound with Vincent.

“Thank you, I guess.” We both chuckled at the awkwardness.

And a few steps more, we saw a car light heading our direction. We took our chance and hailed the car. It might be one the guests of the party that he knows. It was a Yellow Camaro. A familiar one at that.

It stopped and we crossed the road to get to him as the driver rolled his windows down.

“VINNY!” I yelled and was about to hug him but he opened his car door before he got out. He charged Max on the other side of the road and slammed him on a tree.

“VINCENT! STOP!” I screamed, pleading him to stop.

And he did, just before he hit Max with his fist.

“I trusted you.” He seethed and slammed his fist on the trunk of the tree.

“Can I explain?” I said, quivering in fear of his raging anger.

“GET IN THE CAR! NOW!” He growled harshly.

There was silence around us.

“Allister, get in the car now.” He said in a much lower voice but is still traced with anger.

I grabbed Max away from him and we continued to walk the path, making Vincent grunt. “We’ll talk later.” I told him and ignored his rampant whining.

Max was quiet all of a sudden. Maybe he was shocked of my actions. I, too, was shocked. I seldom get angry, especially with Vincent.

“Aliister! I’m getting tired of this!” Vincent scolded.

“Then go home!” I yelled back, walking towards the Laurentis’ Mansion Gate.

I heard the purring of an engine and he rushed towards us.

He blocked our way.

“Allister, talk to him. I can handle myself from here.” Max said as he snatched his hand back and gave me a faint smile. “He won’t leave until you do, so go.”

I nodded and he made his way pass Vincent’s car. I saw the gates open and he was safely inside their property.

At almost the same time, Vincent was getting out his car.

I stood still and waiting for him to yell at me but he never did. He just stared at me.

His endearing stares bore into my conscience.

“I’m sorry.” I said.

“Come here.” He called me over to him. “I’m sorry as well. I never should’ve acted like that. It’s just that you had me worried then I saw you guys walking like that. I was jealous. I know I overreacted.”

I walked to his place and hugged him. “I promise you, we didn’t do anything. We just had coffee and a walk in the park, and well in the dark depths of this foresty road.” I said. Well it was all true, except that I left out the kiss.

“I know… I’m just paranoid. I almost lost you before with him and I won’t let that happen again.” He explained as he kissed the top of my head.

I snuggled closer to his body. “I missed you so much, you know.”

“Yeah, I missed you too. “ He said hugging me tighter before lifting me up.

I coughed out air as he let me down.

“Let’s go home. I’m dead tired.” He groaned. “I never really liked people that I meet in parties like this, they are so talkative and they never let you have your word in.”

“Alrighty.” I answered gleefully. “I’ve been waiting for that time since we got here.”

He laughed. “Don’t worry, this will be the last before the wedding.”

“Speaking of which, what if you can’t escape this? What will happen?”

“A divorce is always an option.” He answered.

“Wouldn’t that cost you money? By that time, your accounts are frozen again.” I questioned further as I got in the car.

He got in on his side and answered. “Would you mind being my mistress?”

I blushed all of a sudden. The burning sensation on my cheeks answered his question.

“Then everything is good.” He smiled and we took off.

Damn! Me being a mistress is now an option! Well, I shall wear a black dress shirt at the wedding then, and a matching veiled hat.

He never seizes to amaze me. I wonder what else he might do to make me fall even harder.

“Stop staring at me like that.” He said, chuckling.

Whoa, am I really staring at him all this time. Still, I can’t take my eyes off of him.

“Seriously Allibear, you are creeping me out.” He chuckled nervously. Or so I thought he was.

“Sorry, it’s like I haven’t seen you in a long time.”

“Well you’ll have me for the rest of your life so stop that, or else you might get tired of my looks.” He smirked wolfishly.

I smacked his arm. “For your information, I’m much cuter and hotter than you. It’s just that you’re richer than I am.” I laughed.

“And don’t forget I’m much cooler than you are. I can sing and do art, remember?”

“So?”

“That made you swoon, right?” He quipped.

I looked away and hid another blush from him. “No.”

“Really now?” He said in a disbelieving tone.

I nodded my head stubbornly and bit my lips to hold back a smile.

“Denial never answers anything. Holding it back won’t help either. Answer me with a truth worth believing. And later I’ll make you feel better.” He seductively said.

And there it goes, him producing a poem from nowhere. Or was he just rhyming and pronouncing it very poet-ish? Either way he was good at it

And good Lord in the heavens above, forgive me! I have raised a tent in my pants!

“Alright! You win!” I grunted as I covered my crotch.

He laughed victoriously. “See, I can do things with you with just words. What more if do it with my hands?” And his seduction carried on.

“Stop please! You are not helping!” I growled at him as I pushed down my growth.

“You are too easy, Allibear.” He laughed. I glared at him. “Alright. We’ll just sleep later.”

“Oh that’s freaking fine after you got me all excited!” I drawled and smacked his arm again.

“Not tonight Alli. Seriously I’m tired as a horse.” He sighed.

He always do this. Teased me until I’m all horned up, and then let me down. But I know why. He’s scared to try it. I mentally laughed at the thought. I can’t blame him though, he was straight before so he’s not used to doing it with guys.

“Fine.” I huffed.

“You can deal with your little problem on your own right?” He joked.

“Not funny.”

“I’m just kidding you, kiddo.” He said as he ruffled my hair.

“I know.” I smiled at him. “So how’s your dad dealing with all of this?” I changed the topic.

“Pretty good actually. In fact, he gave me this car. Ain’t it sweet?” He laughed devilishly.

“Creepy. But yeah, this is a cool car. I didn’t even notice that it was you back there.” I said.

He smirked. “I might use this most the time just to kiss up, and it makes me look cooler.” He winked at me.

“Whatever you say tool!”

“Hey! I’m no tool.” He defended as he parked his car.

“Okay.” I said as I got out.

He chased me to the door and did what he always does when he loses, kisses me.

And you know very well how weak I am when it comes to those lips. Wink!

AND YOU THOUGHT IT WAS OVER! NOT YET!!!

Max’s POV

“Did you get a good shoot of it?” My devil of a sister asked as soon as I entered the house..

“Yes. Gaston told me he got a good shoot of me kissing Allister.” I said, shaking my head.

“Good. So now we can make sure you have Allister and I have Vincent. Executing Phase Two: Destroy what else is left of them.” She said evilly. “They can’t fool me, I can see it right through their little act.”

I huffed and walked right pass her as she have her monologue.

“Oh, and Maxxy thank you.” She added before walking up to her room.

I smiled to myself. Wow, she said thanks. Guess I’m winning at this little game after all.

“Execute Phase Two.” I whispered to myself and smirked.
