Jacob’s POV
Today is the day. Today Shawn and Jenna are coming.
I have been dreading and waiting for this day to come all at the same time because:
1. Shawn is coming
And 2. Shawn is coming.
You see, I’m excited for Shawn to visit me because bonding with Shawn but then again, he’s Shawn Mendes.
Michele and I are currently preparing the guest room at my house for Shawn because he’s gonna stay with me while Jenna stays with Michele. Fortunately, my mom decided to stay home for once and make food, something she rarely does anymore.
“Jacob, how much time do we have until we have to go to the airport?” Michele asked as she finished coloring her Welcome Shawn Mendes! Sign.
“We have…” I paused trying to find the time, “30 minutes oh my lord.” I said starting to panic and getting up to clean everything.
“It’s fine, it’ll take us like 20 to finish cleaning.” Michele said hanging the poster ever so slowly.
“We have 30 minutes,” I said repeating myself, “30 minutes until they land.”
She stumbled on the chair she was standing on to hang up the poster as soon as I finished and fell on the bed, which still didn’t cause me to laugh because I was still panicking.
She started to rush her cleaning of the room and I did as well because the drive to the airport was around 20-25 minutes and I do not want to leave them waiting for an hour waiting for us.
Once we finished the cleaning and made sure that we left no mess, we got up and headed to my car to pick our visitors up.
“Mom, we’re going to get them now!” I said as I was about to leave he door.
“See you later!” My mom said as she was cooking the spaghetti.
Michele and I were on our way to the airport, my fingers tapping on the wheel due to nervousness.
“So, are you excited for the week?” Michele asked trying to start conversation.

After a bit of small talk, Michele and I have arrived at the airport and at the moment, I am a nervous wreck.
What if he doesn’t like my home? What if my mom doesn’t like Shawn? Or Jenna? What if she doesn’t like me?
We stood in the lobby of the airport, waiting for his plane to land. I am anxiously tapping my foot while looking at the flight board to see where Shawn’s flight is.
“Attention, flight number 088 has arrived, flight 088 has arrived, thank you.” Said the woman’s voice on the intercom and Michele and I stood up and walked towards the gate.
After a few moments of waiting, which felt like hours of standing when in reality it was like 3 minutes, people started exiting the plane. My hands were fidgeting out of nervousness while Michele was smiling. Even after being friends with her for almost 10 years, I still don’t understand how she isn’t nervous for things like this.
After a bit more waiting, I tired looking Shawn exited the plane and a girl with brown hair who is presumably Jenna and then my nerves started to attack me once again, but somehow they are hidden and covered because of my excitement to hang out with Shawn.
Michele was the first to go up, and I awkwardly walked behind her because I don’t know how to act in these situations.
“Hi Shawn, welcome, and you must be Jenna?” Michele said hugging Shawn and Jenna.
Jenna laughed, which you could see Shawn smile because of it before responding.
“Yeah, Shawn has been telling me all about you guys. Nice to meet you.” She explained looking at both Michele and I with a sweet smile.
I walked up to her and gave her a hug before introducing myself.
“Hi Jenna! It’s so nice to meet you!” I said while hugging.
“Nice to meet you too!” She said laughing again
Next, I was going on to hug Shawn, and it’s the hug I’ve been dying to receive.
In an I miss you way. Nothing else.
“Hi Shawnie. How was your flight?” I asked as I pulled away from the hug.
“Tiring but I’ll make it.” He said and I smiled.
“You have all your luggage right?” Michele asked looking at both Shawn and Jenna.
“Yup, we just brought one suitcase that will hopefully last us a week.” Jenna explained carrying her luggage, but Shawn wanting to ‘woo’ her, he tried to take it away from her, “Shawn, I’m a big girl, I’m pretty sure I could carry one suitcase if clothes.”
“You sure you don’t need a manly man to help you?” Shawn said, picking up his suitcase to show off and I scoffed while Jenna shook her head disapprovingly with a smile.
“Okay, now lets head to Jacob’s house because his mom is preparing us food and then you guys can get your beauty sleep.”

Once we reached my house I told Shawn to put his luggage outside the guest room so he doesn’t see inside yet because I want to show him before he sleeps.
At the moment, we are all currently eating dinner and having small talk, and so far, Michele and Jenna have basically become best friends and talk at every minute that they’re together.
They both love cats, and bunch of so many other things that in common that it’s scary.
Once we were finished, Shawn was gathering the plates and silverware together but my mom and I have our morals and were basically taking them away from him.
“Shawn, love, you are our guests, let us take these and you, Jenna, and Michele can sit in the living room while we clean up.” My mom explained with a sweet voice as she is grabbing the left overs to store them for later.
“Yeah, my mom and I got this, go rest a bit so you can be ready for the fair tomorrow.” I said as I took the plates he had in his hands.
“Thank you Mrs. Brentwood.” Shawn said as he finally agreed to let us handle the mess.
My mom smiled sweetly as she went into the kitchen to put stuff away and I followed with the dishes.
“Jacob, you could go with your friends, I can handle the mess.” My mom said as I placed the dirty dishes in the sink.
“You sure? I don’t mind helping.” I asked, not wanting to leave her with the mess.
“Yes anak, it’s getting late and you need time to hang out with them. I’ll handle this.” She explained, and as I was about to respond she started speaking again, “this is basically an order, now go have fun.”
I reluctantly left the kitchen and went to the living room to see them putting their shoes on which confused me.
“Oh Jacob! We were waiting because I want to take Jenna to my house so we can get ready for bed!” Michele explained, which made me understand.
“Sure thing!” I replied smiling, I grabbed my keys, put on slippers and heading to my car.

Once Shawn and I have returned from dropping Michele and Jenna off, I finally allowed him to enter his room. I made sure to grab a party popper from the garage to make this surprise worth more.
Once he opened the door, he immediately smiled, which was soon to be replaced with shock once I popped the popper right behind him.
“Welcome!” I said excitedly as the popper went off, and he turned around, hand over his heart laughing.
“You’re so lucky I’m tired or I would kill you right now.” Shawn said, immediately laying down on the bed and I followed, but sat on the edge of the bed.
“So what do you think of Jenna?” Shawn asked, getting up so he can sit next to me on the edge.
“She’s really nice, I’m so glad that I get to be apart of your first date.” I said and he laughed tiredly, laying his head on my shoulder.
“I’m glad.” Shawn said tiredly, as his breaths started to even out while he’s slowly passing out on my shoulder.
I smiled to myself, sleepy Shawn is adorable.
I enjoy everything about him, his personality, his goofiness, how accident prone he is, and everything else.
I slowly got up, attempting to lay him down on the bed without waking him, which somehow worked. I pulled the blankets over him and left the room smiling to myself.
I smiled out of happiness.
I smiled because I finally realized.
I finally realized that Shawn is becoming the key to my happiness.
