Jacob’s POV
Michele and Jenna just left, and now it is just Shawn and I. We have moved from the floor, onto my bed and currently having a little Harry Potter marathon because I have never watched it, and Michele has forced me to watch it before, but we always get 30 minutes into the movie before we get distracted by something else.
“What house would you be in? I’m a Gryffindor!” Shawn said proudly.
“Well Shawnie boy, I have never watched the movies so you’re going to have to tell me the teams or whatever.” I said, picking up my phone.
“House,” he corrected me, “and the others are Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin.”
“Ravenclaw? Sounds ugly, just like you!” I spoke smiling, and he just rolled his eyes, “Slytherin is a snake, and I am not a snake and refuse to be a snake, so no. But, Hufflepuff sounds cute so Hufflepuff.”
“Well, by your traits for Hufflepuff you would fit you because you are cute.” Shawn said nonchalantly, and I blushed at his comment, but thankful for the lack of light in my room so he isn’t able to see it.
“I know I’m cute.” I said, still not paying attention to the movie and putting all my focus onto my phone.
All of a sudden, I was pushed off the bed and landed on the floor with a thud.
“Shawn, I hate you with a passion right now.” I said as I stared at my ceiling on the floor.
“I love you.” Was all he said, and I just sighed,
“It’s fine, the floor is way more comfier.” I mumbled just loud enough so he could hear. I turned onto my side and closed my eyes, ready to fall asleep. I felt movement, but made nothing of it, because I was already exhausted and just fell asleep.

I woke up, and felt a large pillow on my back, which was very comfortable, and I was on the floor and will gladly get more comfortable so I tried to get further in the pillow but didn’t work out well. I just laid there, and released a content sigh. I grabbed my phone and wanted to send a quick Snapchat to Michele, I closed my eyes and put a peace sign, and letting the flash do its work. Once I took the photo, I looked at it and saved it but, before I sent it, I noticed something. Shawn’s face right behind me.
I turned my head, and saw Shawn cuddled onto me, like a Sloth on a tree, and to be honest it was really adorable. I sent the Snapchat, and returned to my sleeping position. But, realization struck me,
I was cuddling Shawn.
I tried to stand quickly, but when I was on my knees, arms pulled me back down to the floor.
“Stay.” Shawn mumbled, groggily as if I was a dog about to run.
“I’m hungry.” I complained, dragging out the y, and he just sighed, pulling me in closer, “you just did the opposite of what I wanted.” He laughed at what I said, and I took this opportunity to escape. I got out of his arms, stood up and stretched. I looked back down at the floor to see Shawn, rubbing his eyes with a frown, I went back down, pinched his cheeks, before standing back up.
“Jacob come back.” Shawn whined, and I just scoffed.
“I want food. I’m going to get food.” I walked into the kitchen, to grab a bowl of cereal, but when I opened my cabinet, there was no cereal, and I swore under my breathe.
“Shawnie, if you want pancakes come here!” I said, hopefully loud enough so Shawn could hear, and I heard footsteps making their way into the kitchen.
I saw Shawn look around and a smile on his face, before turning into confusion and then anger.
“Where are my pancakes?” He asked, and I just smiled innocently.
“McDonald’s, lets go.” I quickly spoke, I grabbed my keys and his wrist and I dragged him into my car, so we could get pancakes.

“Why would you go to McDonalds without us?” Michele asked as she watched Shawn and I sharing our last pancake that we planned on saving for the girls, but decided to eat it because we were hungry.
“Here, I’ll buy you guys more pancakes, will that please you?” I offered and Michele, Jenna, and Shawn nodded their heads. I gave Shawn a weird look saying ‘you legit just ate pancakes, but you still want more?’
“I’m a growing boy, I need my energy.” Shawn defended, but I just laughed.
“Okay okay, who wants to go?” I asked and Michele stood up, and walked to me.
“Jenna and I will stay here!” Shawn said excitedly, which kind of hurt my heart a little, but I’m just going to have to deal with it.
“Okay, lets go.” I grabbed my keys and headed to my car, and Michele followed.
We were on our way to McDonalds, with Michele in charge of music. “Aftertaste” was currently playing and I was singing loudly, but Michele decided to pause it.
“Are you positive nothing happened between you and Shawn?” Michele asked, once again, and I sighed.
“Sadly.” I answered, but she knew I was lying. Something did happen earlier today, but when I responded, I sounded more upset than usual, so she knew something was up.
“What’s wrong?” Michele asked, and I turned into McDonald’s, parking and turning the car off.
“I’m confused. First, Shawn came here to get close to Jenna, and then we hold hands, stay together. He called me cute, and we cuddled but now he’s back to giving Jenna all the heart eyes. Like, I probably sound stupid for ranting about someone I don’t even have a chance with, but after what you told me last night, I do want him to like me. It made me think, that when he held my hand, when he cuddled me, I felt safe. I felt protected, I felt at content you know?” I finished ranting and she just smiled sympathetically.
“What do you feel about him?” Michele asked, the sympathetic, yet expectant smile on her face.
“I like Shawn. There, I said it, I like Shawn. I thought at first it was just the fanboy side of me talking, but I don’t think it is anymore. But, he has Jenna, and he’s straight. What’s the point in even trying. The closer I get with him, the bigger hole I’m going to dig for myself and I don’t want that.” I explained, and Michele just had a small smile on her face, but knew we shouldn’t discuss this anymore.
That’s what I love about her, she knows how far she needs to go on a topic, but to a point where she understands the situation, and will ask another time so not all of it is said at once, which could really mess with my emotions.
We entered the fast food restaurant, ordered the pancakes, or “hotcakes,” and sat down, which happened to be the exact same seat that Shawn and I sat in earlier, which reminds me of the time here earlier.

“Jacob! Stop hogging the syrup!” Shawn whined as I was slowly pouring the syrup on top of my food.
We are currently sitting in a booth, at the back of the place so no one would be here, and helps Shawn not get noticed by crazy fan girls who might cause a ruckus in the store.
“I’m not sure if you see this, but there’s a perfectly unopened one right on the tray.” I said, pointing at it.
“That would be wasting, and unlike you, I want to finish one before opening something new.” Shawn said, and he took this opportunity to pull the syrup away from my hands.
“Hey! Get your own!” I said, reaching out to grab the syrup but he’s holding it above his head.
“There’s a perfectly unopened one there though.” Shawn mocked me, and I went to grab it, but he took it before I could pick it up.
“That’s rude give it back!” I complained, but I still couldn’t reach the stupid syrup.
I stood up out of my side of the booth and went over to his to try and grab it, but when I tried to walk over there, I stumbled and fell in the direction of Shawn. He quickly put down the syrup, and caught me before I fully fell on top of him.
I opened my eyes, and saw that I wasn’t falling towards my doom, but was incredibly close to Shawn’s face. Our eyes met, and time felt like it was frozen. He slowly started to inch his face closer to mine, and all I could do was watch this happen.
But, before he could close the small gap between us, my phone started ringing, which brought us both back to reality. My face flushed red, as I quickly got up, grabbed my phone and answered it.
“Hello?” I ask, voice shaking because of what almost just happened.
“Do you want to hang out in about an hour or two?” It was Michele’s voice and I looked over at Shawn, who’s face looked red, and he was just staring at no place in particular, probably deep in thought.
“An hour sounds great, sure.” I quickly answered, and I looked away from Shawn, and back to my pancakes. From the corner of my eye, I could see Shawn, reaching for the syrup and finish pouring it, before placing it right in front of me.
“Great, see you in an hour.” Michele said happily, and ended the call. I put my phone down and picked up the syrup, and pours it on mine and looked up at Shawn, who was already eating his pancakes.
“Why are you staring? We still have to eat and get back in an hour!” Shawn explained, and I laughed at him and started to eat, but while eating I couldn’t help but think.
What if I didn’t get the call?
