Jacob’s POV
Shawn and I just left the mall the mall, bags in our hands and we are currently putting them in the back seats of the car.
“Hey Jacob, are you free tonight?” Shawn asks randomly.
“What?”
“Are you free tonight?” Shawn asked again randomly, an innocent smile on his face?
“Sure?” I answered, still confused.
“Would you like to go on date number 2 tonight?” Shawn asked as we both got in the car. I finally understood why he asked why if I was free, and I smiled.
“Is Shawn Mendes, asking me out on another date? How could I say no?” I answered and he just laughed.
“Well, I know this place that google showed me so let’s go there now.” Shawn said, putting his arms out phone on speaker and the navigation speaker started talking.
“Shawn, it’s 40 minutes away.” I told him as I read the estimated time to destination.
“I know, so?” Shawn asked.
“You expect me to drive 40 minutes?” I asked.
“Yup.” Shawn quickly answered, putting a big a smile on his face.
“The things I do for you Shawn.”
After around 40 minutes of driving, we arrive at a hiking trail, and I look at him confused.
“I was expecting a mall day,” I started, “not a, hey, let’s go hiking in skinny jeans and converse day!”
“Don’t worry, this date was all coordinated.” Shawn said before getting out of the car. He went to wear our shopping bags were and pulled out two new pairs of cargo shorts, and two new pairs of Nike running shoes.
“Shawn, I said don’t waste your money on me and what did you do?” I asked looking at him sternly.
“I didn’t waste money. I had a purpose.” Shawn explained as he handed my new stuff.
“Did you even bring water?” I asked as I looked around in the car for water.
“I said this is planned, don’t you worry. Now, the bathroom and paying area is over there, we can get changed there.”

Currently, Shawn and I are on the trail, and what Shawn failed to tell me before we got on, is that bugs like this trail. And bugs and I don’t get along that well.
“Shawn, there’s a spider web there! Between the trees and we have to walk under it.” I said as I grabbed onto Shawn’s arm.
“What’s a little spider gonna do?” Shawn said as he continued walking, but my pulling on him is slowing him down.
“Kill us.” I simply stated.
“They’re probably not even poisonous.” Shawn said as he started to go under the web, but I pulled him back before he could.
“Snakes I’m okay with because you can see them better,” I explained, “spiders are little devils that will bite you and poison you and you die.”
“Once again, I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen to you.” Shawn said, he grabbed my hand and squeezed it trying to comfort me.
“Okay, give me a minute to pre-” I started, but stopped because Shawn put me in front, hugged me from the back, pushing me forward to quickly duck under the web.
“See, it wasn’t that bad.” Shawn explained as he turned me around, grabbing my hand again.
I glare at him, and he just smiles innocently. I shake my head and we continue walking on the trail.
“How much longer is this nature bug infested trail?” I ask as I open the water bottle and take a few sips.
“It should be over about, now!” Shawn answered as he pointed ahead. At the end of the trail was the base of a small waterfall, which was pretty calming to be honest. I let go of Shawn’s hand and walked ahead to try and get a better look at it, and I was in love with this spot.
“Shawn, you’re not even from here, yet you do research and find a trail for this?” I asked as I looked behind me to see him catching up to me.
“Google goes a long way.” He explained. He grabbed my hand once again, and takes a nervous breath. I look over at him, concerned.
“Shawn, are you feeling okay?” I ask and he quickly nods.
“Yeah, yeah, of course. It’s just that, I don’t know never mind.” He rambled looking away from me and back at the waterfall, cheeks slightly blushing.
“You know I hate when people say never mind,” I grumbled and he just responded with a small laugh, “but Shawn, you know you can tell me anything right?”
“I know,” he replied and took a deep breath, “okay, Jacob I’m gonna say some things, and please don’t say anything until I’m done or I won’t be able to get it out okay?”
I was confused on why he didn’t want me to talk, but I nodded anyway.
“Okay, hear goes nothing,” Shawn started and took yet another deep breathe, “Jacob, I’m pretty sure you already know my feelings towards you. When I met you at the the meet and greet, I didn’t know that it was all going to lead up to this. When I got to know you backstage, I promised myself I was gonna help you, I didn’t know how but I wanted. We haven’t even known each other that long at all yet, and I don’t want you to think I’m moving to fast, or whatever but when I first saw you, I felt drawn to you, and I still do even now.”
Right now, my eyes are just widened at all he’s saying. Does he actually mean what he’s saying right now? My heart is beating so fast and I don’t know how I will be able to respond or react at the end of this.
“I just, whenever I see you, I want to get close to you, I want to hold you, just have any physical contact with you, whether it just be your hand, or my arm around you. I feel so protective over you and I want everyone to know. I want to tell the world that you are mine, I want our friends to know that you’re happy with me, that you’re safe with me. Whether people accept us or not, I want to be able to hold your hand in public, I want to kiss you in public without worrying.” He continued before he looked down.
Do I talk now? Am I allowed to talk now? I look at him, contemplating if I should speak now but he finally looks up, and starts speaking again.
“Jacob, this is my first time having this type f connection with a guy, but I feel like I’m ready, because I know you’re worth everything. I know we haven’t even known each other that long but I want us to be official.” He said, voice shaking.
Did he just say he wants us to be official? Is this even real life?
“Will you be my boyfriend?” He finally asks, looking up, tears brimming his eyes and at that my heart almost broke because of how scared and weak he looked.
Shawn Mendes just asked me to be his boyfriend. But, I’ve never been in a relationship before, but this is a bit more extreme than a normal one because the Shawn Mendes will be my boyfriend. Boyfriend, that sounds nice, but I know many of his fans won’t find it nice.
I look up to see Shawn once again looking down, defeated. I hugged him tight, trying to pull him as close as he can get. He was surprised at this but he still wrapped his arms around me.
“Of course Shawn, I will be your boyfriend.” I answered.
Shawn didn’t say anything, but I could tell he was pretty happy and relieved because I felt his arms tighten around me and he put his head in my shoulders.
“Jacob, thank you so much, thank you.” Was all he could say.
Once he pulled away, I looked up at him and he immediately leaned in and kissed me, and I kissed back. It wasn’t anything too crazy, but just something to show each other that we both wanted the relationship. He pulled away, a large smile growing on his face and he grabbed my hand.
“Well let’s go boyfriend.” He said and I just laughed at him.
Well, this is the start to something new.
And it feels so right.
To be here with him.

THIS CHAPTER IS A LIL LATE I RESTARTED IT EARLIER BECAUSE I DIDN’T LIKE THEIR DATE NUMBER 2 BUT THIS IS SOMETHING I LIKE.
Shacob is finally a thing and I can’t wait to start ruining it with drama :,) because it’s kind of gonna start in the next chapter 😉
Also, I know I haven’t really talked about who Jacob looked like but that shall end now!
It me. When I first started writing it, I pictured Jacob as me because I was a young child who liked Shawn so might as week keep going with that idea but that’s who Jacob is in the story and irl and my face is really awkward in that photo but idk why I thought it was decent when I took it earlier oops.
Here’s another photo I took after I washed off a mud mask and washed my hair and my face was really smooth and it was clean but I wasn’t wearing a shirt how SCANDALOUS.
But yeah tea is gonna be dripping in the next chapter so yeah.
