Jacob’s POV
“Who’s this Sean? Is he cute?” Michele asked. I just had explained everything to her about Sean and I’s date, which wasn’t that bad.
“He’s cute. He’s nice.” I explained grabbing my phone to see a text from Shawn.
Jacob I have big news! Can we FaceTime rn??
“Would you mind if Shawn and I FaceTimed really fast, you can be involved too?” I asked and Michele just nodded.
“Yes! I need to meet this Sean.” Michele said and I just laughed.
“Wrong Shawn, I was talking about Mendes.”
I called him on FaceTime using my phone and he answered a few moments later.
“Jacob! Big news!” Shawn stated excited.
“Shoot.” I said looking outside my window to see a dad and a kid playing together, which hurt my heart a little bit.
“I have a week break next week! I wanna spend it with you and Michele!” Shawn said, I smiled and Michele answered for me.
“Really! That’s our week off of school so it’s perfect!” Michele answered excitedly.
“This is gonna work out so well.” Shawn spoke and I smiled once again.
“I gotta make plans for once. I’m so excited to see you again!” I replied genuinely.
“You guys also get to meet Jenna!” Shawn added.
As soon as I heard that name, I felt jealous. My smile quickly went into a frown, which Michele noticed but Shawn didn’t.
“How are you and Jenna?” Michele asked, which cause me to frown even more, no longer wanting to listen to the conversation.
“We’re good! Jacob is supposed to help me ask her on a date.” Shawn explained and I made my frown into a forced smile.
“Yeah! So when do you want to ask her?” I asked, sounding a bit too nice because Michele was giving me a look.
“I think when I’m with you guys. What’s happening in your area?” Shawn said excitedly.
“I think there’s this carnival? It comes once every few months and its here for two weeks.” I explained and I could see Michele nodding.
“Yeah! Its first day was a few days ago so we have time! Jacob and I can take you there! Right Jacob?” Michele offered smiling. I quickly looked up and gave her a death glare but Shawn’s eyes lit up at her offer so I have to seem happy for him.
“Yeah, we can.” I said, my forced smile still on my face.
“Really? It can be like a double date!” Shawn said, which caused Michele to laugh.
“Haha, no. Jacob is gay.” Michele stated nonchalantly and I just gave her a worried expression.
“Really! That’s amazing Jacob!” Shawn exclaimed and I gave him a weird look.
“Quite the opposite actually.” I replied.
“No! Its good that you already discovered yourself. Some people take way longer than you and I’m proud of you.” Shawn explained which caused me to blush.
“Thanks Shawn, it means a lot.”
“Anyways, I’m got to go, I’m going to travel this city for a bit with Jenna. I’ll call you later!” Shawn stated. Michele and I both said our goodbyes and he hung up and I returned all my focus back to Michele.
“I am no longer prepared for the break next week.” I said honestly, throwing my phone on my bed.
“Is Jenna the reason why?” Michele asked and I nodded.
“Sadly, but I’m happy for Shawn. If he wants to date her, then I’ll gladly help him.” I explained, a small smile on my lips.
“At least he’ll be here with us to hang out and I heard some good news today in one of my classes!” Michele said, changing the topic.
“That good news is?” I asked.
“Kaden is going on vacation early! So you won’t have to deal with him for long! He’s leaving in two days! You just have to deal with him for tomorrow” Michele said which caused me to smile.
“A whole week without the devil, thank the lord.” I praised, laying down on my bed.
“So what are we going to do when Shawn gets here?” Michele asked and I just shrugged.

I entered school, with the goal of making out alive because Kaden will be here for just today and I’m free from him for a week. Jordan has been messaging more often because he wants to learn more about me. Like if I ever self-harmed, more information about my dad and other things but I don’t feel comfortable telling him all of that information yet.
Shawn has been texting me a lot more saying he’s really excited about seeing Michele and I again, also he’s excited about us meeting Jenna, who I still don’t like but I’ll be happy for Shawn.
Sean, don’t get me started on him. He’s been really nice saying he wants to have another date soon, but have it more sentimental. So after school today, he is picking me up to go somewhere and I’m excited. I still have the fear of it being this whole set up from Kaden, but I’ve never seen Sean and Kaden together.
I went to my locker and opened it, expecting a note to fall about but that didn’t happen, which sort of relieved me but left me confused. Maybe Kaden is back off.
Michele has yet to know about these letters from him and I don’t plan on telling her anytime soon. I grabbed all my stuff for Calculus and made my way to my class, making it inside just in time because I was running a bit late to get to school this morning.

The bell rang, signaling the end of class meaning it is now time for lunch. I quickly sprinted to my locker, excited to go into the Library and plan stuff out for my project which I am excited for.
We are suppose to film and edit a music video for any song that’s “school appropriate” and I already have ideas in my head.
I was making my way to class but before my mouth was covered and was dragged into a storage closet. I was fearing for the worst and my heart started to beat even faster.
I turned around to see Sean standing there with a cute smile and I let out a sigh of relief.
“Well Sean, this is very romantic.” I said sarcastically and he just laughed.
“Where were you going so giddy like?” Sean asked.
“I have to plan out a music video in the library which I’m excited to film! I might use a Shawn Mendes song or an Ed Sheeran one but I have yet to decide.” I explained and Sean smiled at me.
“Can I help?” Sean asked politely and I nodded. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the closet and made our way to the library.

It’s finally the end of the day and after gym, I ran to my car just to get home but I saw something on my windshield that confused me.
It was a slip of paper. I looked to the back of my car to make sure my parking pass sticker was still there so I’m able to park at school, which is was still there. I quickly took out the paper, unfolded it and it was a note.
Sorry Jacob,
I wasn’t able to make it to school today until later because my little sister was sick an my parents wanted me to watch her.
I’ll miss not seeing you for a week and a half, we won’t be able to have our fun anymore until school is back so you’re lucky.

I let out a frustrated sigh and crumpled up the note. I still don’t understand why Kaden hated me to be honest but you can’t please everyone.
I just need this week to be over so I could have a full week of hanging out with the people who I appreciate the most.
My mom, Michele and Shawn. Oh, and Jenna, someone who I’m not excited about but I’m willing to do anything to Shawn.
As long as he is happy, I’ll be happy.

Sadly, school starts for me tomorrow, the 22nd of August, and let me tell you, High School is difficult and I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to update, hopefully at least once a week! Thank you al so much for your reads, voted and comments! I really appreciate them!
