Hey as promised chapter 2! I am dedicating my first three chapters to @Kathyyjane, @Danicavanzyl and @JazzMalik1D because their amazing! :o)

………………………………………………………………………………………………..

I woke up the next day still wrapped around Domingo, Lucas was curled up fast asleep at the bottom of my bed. Elliot must have retreated to his own room when he and Lucas had given up on Call of Duty, I am surprised that Lucas didn’t force his way into Elliot’s room instead of squishing on the end of my bed.

I didn’t want to wake Dom or Lucas so I lay still and checked my Twitter and Facebook while I waited for them to wake up. The boy’s always stayed over at my house as we had more room here, Lucas and Dom lived in the same apartment building in small flats as it was just them, Dom’s brother and their mum’s. So whenever we got together and it went on late they would always end up crashing here, usually I would put the air bed out for one of them but I must have fallen asleep while they were playing.

I wonder if my mum called their parents, I am sure she would have otherwise they’d be freaking out and banging on my door right now. There was nothing interesting on Twitter or Facebook so I opened my Simpsons Tapped out game and started collecting my cash. I never meant to get addicted to this game, I was just bored one day and I haven’t been able to get off it ever since.

Just as I was finishing up with my game, I heard a sigh beside me and Dom lift his head up to see what I was doing.

“Playing on that stupid game again?” He chuckled sleepily.

“Hey it’s not stupid and you love the Simpsons.” I replied.

“You’re never off it, I am surprised you even acknowledge me anymore.” He fake pouted.

“Aw mate I couldn’t forget you.” I laughed.

“You two seriously are a married couple.” Lucas said waking up.

“Sorry if we woke you loser, oh I mean Lucas.” I sniggered.

“Shut up.” He said simply.

“How long did you and Elliot play Call of Duty and when did I fall asleep?” I questioned.

“We played until after midnight and you fell asleep about thirty minutes after sleeping beauty there.” He said gesturing to Dom.

“Good job Elliot kept you company then.” Dom said in reply.

“Er yeah sure.” Lucas said blushing.

I looked at Dom confused and noticed the same look pass across his features, why was Lucas blushing over Elliot, did he do something to Lucas? It was too early to care about it right now so I jumped out of bed to go to the bathroom to relieve myself and brush my teeth. Once I was done I went back to my bedroom to find both boys still lying there on my bed.

“Well I don’t know about you two but I am starved, I need some breakfast.” I said.

I ran from the room and down the stairs, chuckling at the sound of the boys behind me. When I entered the kitchen my darling mother was already there cooking something on the stove and whatever it was it smelled delicious. My belly groaned in response and I sat at the island as Dom and Lucas sat either side of me.

“Morning boys.” Mum said turning and placing a plate in front of us.

“Morning Mum.” I said.

“Morning Helen.” Dom and Lucas replied.

I looked at my plate and noticed she had made us breakfast burritos, filled with shredded potatoes, bacon, eggs, cheese and chilli’s. I picked it up and took a huge bite and it was as delicious as it smelled, I wolfed the rest down then downed a glass of milk to wash it down. I turned and noticed both Dom and Lucas had also finished theirs, I was pretty disappointed as I was still hungry. So when my mum placed another one on our plates I actually cheered as Elliot walked into the kitchen and sat across from us, mum placing a plate full of food in from of him.

“Thanks mum.” He said.

“No problem sweetheart.” She replied.

“Thanks for keeping me company last night Lucas, these two weren’t much help.” He said smiling at Dom and me.

“No problem El.” Lucas blushed.

Another look of confusion passed between myself and Dom, Lucas never acted that way around Elliot it was strange, I would have to remind myself to ask him later. When we finished eating I went up to get a shower, today we were meeting up with Alfonso and Sofia. Alfie is Domingo’s younger brother and Sofia is his girlfriend, they hang around with us a lot even though they are in the year below. Alfie is pretty cool so we don’t mind, he and Sofia are joined at the hip so we couldn’t hang around with one, without the other.

When the three of us were showered and dressed, we all head downstairs to the kitchen to wait for Alfie and Sofia to turn up. Lucas seemed to be in deep thought so Dom and I sat and chat to my mum as she baked more cookies.

“Do you think we should ask Elliot if he wants to come to the half pipe?” Lucas asked out of the blue.

“Er sure, go ask him then.” I said and watched as he left the kitchen.

“What is with him at the moment?” Dom whispered.

“Not sure?” I shrugged.

The sound of the doorbell interrupted my thoughts and I jumped up and walked to the door to let in the new comers. Alfie walked in with his skateboard pulling Sofia in behind him, we were all heading to the big half pipe at the skate park. Alfie was just as good as Lucas on a skateboard and although the rest of us couldn’t really join in it was fun to watch them practice their tricks.

A few moments later Lucas came down looking slightly disappointed, I noticed that he didn’t have Elliot with him so I guessed he didn’t want to come.

“No Elliot?” I asked.

“No he said he is going into town to sign up for the army.” He replied

My mother dropped the plate that she was washing back into the sink, she was aware that Elliot had decided to join the army but with the war that was going on she had tried everything to get him to reconsider. I jumped up scowling at Lucas and wrapped my arms around my upset mother, she relaxed in my arms and tried to compose herself again.

“He’ll be ok mum, we have to be positive ok.” I tried to soothe.

“I know sweetheart but he’s my baby.” She sniffed.

“It won’t be for long, I am sure time will fly.” I tried to sound positive when deep down I didn’t want him to go either.

“Yeah I am sure it will.” She smiled patting my arms.

“Sorry Mrs Adams.” Lucas squeaked.

“You will be if you call me Mrs Adams again.” She chuckled.

“Oops sorry Helen.” He replied.

“You guys all ready to go then?” I turned to them all and received a chorus of yes’s.

We all took off for the park, the weather was gorgeous again so by the time we arrived I was so hot that I just collapsed on the grass, Dom lying next to me. Lucas and Alfie head straight for the half pipe while Sofia pulled out a towel, sunscreen and water and began to sunbathe.

As I lay there I could feel Domingo’s leg and hip against mine telling me he was lying quite close to me which made me smile again. I loved Dom he was my best friend and I loved that we had such a close relationship, I would miss him if he did make new friends at college. I felt a shift beside me and opened my eyes to see Dom sitting up.

“What’s up?” I asked him.

“I want ice cream.” He frowned.

“Well I can help there, come on lets go.” I smiled jumping up. “You want anything Sofia?”

“Just more water if you don’t mind?” She replied.

“Yeah sure.” I said grabbing Dom’s wrist and pulling him away.

We walked along the path to the other side of the park where the ice cream truck was and when we arrived I stopped to look at the menu to see what I wanted. It didn’t take long as I always ended up getting the same as Dom so we both walked away with a pot full of Dippin’ Dot’s and a bottle of water for Sofia. As we walked back to the others I watched as Domingo’s face lit up with each spoon full of his cold desert, and I couldn’t help chuckle when he missed his mouth slightly.

When we got back I gave Sofia her water and I lay back down on the grass, Dom once again taking his place right beside me. After an hour of baking in the sun Dom prodded me on the shoulder and held up Sofia’s sun cream.

“You’re burning.” He scolded.

“Damn you bloody Hispanics and your perfect skin.” I chuckled

Domingo proceeded to pour sun cream into his hands to warm in up before rubbing it into my skin, making sure to cover my face as well. I smiled as he meticulously covered every part of my exposed body, I wasn’t fair skinned but I couldn’t handle the sun as well as the others.

“Even us Hispanics with our perfect skin have to use sun cream Charlie, if we don’t want cancer anyway.” He mocked back.

“Sure whatever.” I smiled lying back down.

I was starting to get hungry again and I was thinking about what my mum would be making for tea when Lucas and Alfie came over and plonked down in front of us. They both looked tired from all of the exercise and Alfie confirmed this by lying down and placing his head on Sofia’s stomach, Lucas just lay back on the grass.

“Do you guys want to catch a movie tonight or something?” Dom asked.

“We can’t were going on a date.” Alfie replied.

“I can’t I promised my mom I’d help her go grocery shopping.” Lucas huffed.

“I will.” I smiled.

“Knew I could count on you Charlie.” He smiled and ruffled my hair. “I’m hungry shall we go eat at mine first?”

“Yes!” I said quickly pulling out my phone to call my mum.

***

A few hours later I was full to the brim with Maria Mendez’s home cooking, she had made tostadas and I must have ate about five of them. After we ate, Domingo and I said our thank you’s and head to the cinema, we bought two tickets to see the new Avengers film. Then we bought desert in the form of milk duds and butter popcorn and we walked into our screen and sat at the back as we always did waiting for the movie to start.

As the movie played I could feel Dom getting close to me, I thought the film was amazing but I guess Dom had a different opinion because as the movie came to an end he was fast asleep on my shoulder. Chuckling I gently woke him up and he groggily came too.

“Time to go sleepily head.” I smiled at him. “Film that bad huh?”

“Just tired I guess.” He grinned back.

“You’re always tired.” I stated.

“You’re just comfortable.” He replied.

We both jumped up and decided to walk home so that Dom could wake up a bit, it was still early so he couldn’t go straight to bed. As we walked we discussed the fact that school starts in a week and we were both excited to get it over with. Before long Dom had walked me home saying that because he was bigger it was his job, I scoffed reminding him I wasn’t a chick and he just laughed it off.

As we stood at my front door I asked him if he wanted to stay over again but he suggested that he better go home before his mother sent out a search party for him. I couldn’t help but frown, I liked having Dom around, I loved Elliot but he wasn’t as much fun as Domingo.

“Don’t worry Charlie I will be back tomorrow.” He smiled.

“I guess.” I pouted.

He pulled me into a hug and I tucked my face into his neck, he seemed to hold on for longer than even I was used to but I didn’t argue. I watched as he walked away smiling and promising to be back first thing tomorrow, I smiled back and began to count down the minutes.
