Monday-
Rohit had been visiting Raj for two days now and couldn’t get enough of the guy. Always full of witty jokes and funny anecdotes, Raj could make his day at any time. Today, however, Rohit was a tad angry at Raj. He had told Rohit to go early to their secret spot to help him with an assignment and didn’t even show up yet. Rohit opened his backpack to see if he could contact Raj using his iPad. Immediately forgetting about his past plan, he started to play a word search game. Rohit was almost done until a Facebook notification popped up. He hesitatingly clicked it and saw that his friend Abbi Kumar had commented something funny.
Abbi had been Rohit’s best friend since diapers, and the two of them grew up like twins. Abbi was the sweetest guy ever, he was the big brother Rohit never had. Abbi was so protective of him, so much so that whenever Rohit asked him why he was so protective, Abbi would respond with: ‘Rohit, you’re as fragile as snow. You would hurt yourself if I wasn’t there to protect you.’
They were inseparable until Abbi’s parents decided to send him abroad to study. If there was something Rohit didn’t want to do, it was to get out of India. He liked the comfort of his own country and didn’t want to leave.
Now that he thought of it, Abbi might have looked tough, but he was a teddy bear like Raj…
Rohit started to think about Raj. It seemed like whenever they were together, a warmth enveloped through Rohit. He felt things that he was not supposed to feel, like an attraction that he couldn’t quite explain. It also seemed like whenever they weren’t together Rohit would think about him anyway. His melodious laugh, his cute smile, and his hair that Rohit just wanted to run my hands through…
“What are you thinking about?” a deep voice whispered in Rohit’s ear. Rohit started to breathe heavier and placed a hand on his chest.
He then turned around, coming face to face with the devil himself: Raj. “Are you crazy? I nearly had a heart attack!”
Raj started laughing and pointed to Rohit’s face, “You look like a frightened kitten, Ro!”
“That’s not funny Raj” Rohit yelled, stomping his foot on the ground, “First you asked for my help with your assignment, then you arrived late and frightened the hell out of me!”
“I didn’t mean to come late, baby, I forgot to set my alarm last night so I woke up lat,e and then the traffic was so bad…” Raj said, running a hand through his beautiful hair, “I’m so sorry, Ro.”
Baby? Why do I feel like this?
Rohit grabbed Raj’s backpack and emptied its contents: a textbook and other supplies, “Let’s get to it then.”
“What are you waiting for, an invitation?” Rohit asked Raj, getting irritated quickly.
“Of course, baby, you know I’m a celebrity and a handsome one at that,” Raj responded with a smug look, “I deserve an invitation.”
“Yeah keep telling yourself that,” Rohit said, trying to hide a smile, “Now sit, dummy.”
