Tuesday:

Rohit and Raj had decided to meet up again at their secret forest. They both arrived bearing food and drinks and Raj looked particularly happy that day.

“Why are you so happy, teddy bear?” Rohit laughed as Raj plunked down in the water next to him.

“My dad just came back from his trip today and brought me some chocolates,” Raj sighed, remembering how happy he was that morning:

Raj had been in his room texting Rohit when he heard his father’s deep voice in the hallway. Excited, he dropped his phone and ran downstairs. His father looked pristine for having flown a couple hours and smiled when he saw Raj.

“Bless you, mera beta,” he said, grabbing Raj in for a tight hug. As much as Raj adored Rohit’s company, he couldn’t help but miss his father. He missed all of the fun stuff that the two of them would do, whether it was watching a cricket match or just talking and enjoying each other’s company.

“Can’t breathe, dad,” Raj had choked out.

“Sorry, dear, I just missed you so much,” he said smiling and ruffling my hair again

“I missed you too papa… you should go rest. You can tell me about your trip later,” Raj said

“There is nothing to talk about. It was a business meeting, not a vacation,” Raj’s father had joked, smiling fondly at his son.

“Okay Papa, get some sleep and then we can just talk to each other,” Raj consoled, hugging his father one more time.

“Well, they are really good chocolates!” Rohit exclaimed as he grabbed another one. After eating it, he then stood up.

Raj then couldn’t help but admire Rohit: his wet black hair going every which way, his flushed cheeks, his pink kissable lips and his gorgeous eyes that seem to light up whenever he smiled….

Raj could feel his face warming up again. What am I thinking about? He is a guy for goodness sake, he scolded himself.

Rohit went out of the water and dried his hand on a towel before picking his phone. He looked at the screen with a big smile on his face, answering a call.

As much as he didn’t want to eavesdrop on Rohit’s conversation, Raj couldn’t help but inch closer to listen.

“Hello, jaan” Rohit greeted. Smiling a smile that could outshine the sun.

The person on the other side of the call responded and Rohit looked like he would randomly start jumping for joy.

“I’m missing you so much Abbi, when will you be back?”

Raj blanched. Abbi? Which means it’s a boy and his Rohit was missing him? What relationship does he share with Ro? Why is Rohit so happy talking to him? He’s never looked this happy with Raj before…

Raj started to glare murderously at Rohit’s phone. He was already jealous enough, but the next thing that Rohit said really burned him:

“I love you too, pati. Study well for the both of us, okay?” he said, giggling.

In a fit of anger, Raj jumped from his spot in the water and started walking towards Rohit, who was as clueless as ever. Raj could only see red as he walked up and snatched Rohit’s phone, hanging up with the person on the other side of the line.

“What did you do, Raj?” Rohit pouted, looking rather irritated.

“I should be asking you that, Rohit. What were you doing or even saying?” Raj asked, looking angry.

“I was talking to someone important on the phone and you rudely hung up!” Rohit shouted, “”And for what I was saying it’s none of your business.”

“It’s my business, Ro. Do you know what jaan means? Do you even know what pati means? I’m sure you don’t, from the way you were using the words! Baby and husband?” Raj yelled back.

“For your information, he is my best friend! Raj, we have been together since we were in diapers! For god’s sake, what I call him is none of your business! Also, Raj, why were you eavesdropping? Do you realize how I feel right now? I don’t even think I trust you anymore!” Rohit said, looking flustered and angry.

“Ro, I was worried about you. I-I’m the only one that you are supposed to…” Raj trails off, aware of what he was just about to say. Raj started to think about many things, What was he about to confess to Rohit? Why do I feel like this… why do I feel jealous? So many questions and not enough answers…

“You’re the only one I’m supposed to what, Raj,” Rohit asked, looking straight into Raj’s eyes. Raj said nothing as he stared back. He admired Rohit’s feminine facial features and it sent a flash of heat through him. Raj actually did have an answer to his questions:

He’s felt something more for Rohit ever since he met him.

Raj quickly hid his inner turmoil and said, “Nothing, Rohit, and I’m sorry that I eavesdropped on your call and then proceeded to shout at you.”

Rohit scoffed and turned around.

“I’m really sorry. I just lost control,” Raj confessed, awkwardly scratching the back of his head.

“Sorry doesn’t fix everything, Raj,” Rohit responded, looking hurt.

“But this does,” Raj smiled, grabbing Rohit and placed him on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

Raj started walking to the river that was below the waterfall, reminiscent of a small pool, while Rohit was hitting Raj’s back and shouting.

“Put me down this instant!” he yelled, trying to sound stern despite him sounding like a kitten.

Raj laughed and answered, “Your wish is my command.” He then dropped Rohit into the water.

He swam up and dragged Raj with him. Raj was surprised as he fell on his chest into the water. Raj then swam up to look into Rohit’s eyes, his heart starting to hammer in his chest as if it was going to explode.

Raj snapped out of his trance and stood up, offering his hand to Rohit, “Let’s get going.”
