Hi people I’m sorry I haven’t updated you see I graduated (happy dance) whoop I am soooo happy!!!!!!!!!!Moving on this chapter is actually dedicated to AdventsChild, thank you so much for your votes and comments!!! Let’s begin!
Hunter’s POV
I felt regret as I left the room to get him water. Why did I ask that? He must think I’m a moron. I walked to the water fountain in the nurse’s room and got myself some pudding. When I turned around I saw Carol standing at the door looking at me with a grin on her face.
“Hi Hunter” she smiled.
“Uh hi Carol” I said marvelously.
“What are you doing here? I thought you hated hospitals” she said getting closer.
“Yeah dad got me on punishment” I said backing away.
“Oh I see, poor baby you shouldn’t be here. Why don’t we go some where more…. private” she said reaching out to touch me.
“Excuse me young lady please let my care taker out of that corner” said a soft but strong voice. Carol turned around to see Peleides in a wheel chair looking at her with a glare.
“Sorry little guy we are playing and you need to be this tall to play” Carol laughed.
“Hunter get over here” he said with a serious tone and face. I moved as quickly as I could towards Peleides side.
“Hunter why are you listening to him? Come back over here” Carol said trying to reach for me. I tried to get away when a hand grabbed Carols.
“I’m freaking tired and I need my test to be done so please act your age and note that Hunter does not like being close to you.” Peleides said letting go of her hand.
I rolled him out of the room as fast as I could not say anything. I was in mere shock this little boy shorter and weaker than me stood up for me even though I have done nothing but insulted him and judged him. We reached the lab room and got his blood test done and then it was Physical therapy which is trying to make him walk long distances for a period of time.
“Come on Peleides we have to try” the therapy teacher James said.
“Augh James you are too happy” Peleides said gloomily.
“Of course my favorite patient is here come on you know the plan” James said jokingly.
I helped Peleides up from the wheeling chair making sure to be gentle and not to fast so he doesn’t get dizzy. Peleides stood tall at 5’8′, he was shaking a bit and almost fell but I held him in place and made sure that he didn’t fall over.
“I’m not a girl you know” Peleides blushed.
“I know but what are friends for right?” I said smiling.
“Friends? We… are friends?” he said in a bit of shock.
“I hope so” I said getting him to stand on the reeling.
“I never had a friend before” he whispered.
“Well as your friend I’m going to take you to parties and let you meet lots of girls. With your looks you can get many chicas” I said laughing.
“I don’t like parties or girls” Peleides answered not looking at me.
I looked at him confused but then it dawned on me that Peleides was gay and he was afraid that I would judge him because of it. I didn’t say anything during the rest of the day, what could I say? We reached his room and I sat him up on his bed and he gave me a confused stare.
“Peleides I don’t hate you because your gay we are still friends” I said looking at him in the eyes. Friends? Did I really want to be friends with him or just more?
What the duck am I thinking?!!!!
Peleides POV
I couldn’t believe the words that came out of his mouth I looked at him in shock as I felt a warm sensation on my cheeks and I knew I was blushing which made him grin.
“W-who cares about your opinion anyways” I said smugly.
“Oh really?” He questioned and that’s when I felt his hands at my sides and his fingers moving tickling me. I started to laugh and begged him to stop but he wouldn’t just going all over but the fun didn’t last as my lungs gave and I started to cough badly. Hunter panicked and I kept coughing uncontrollably. He called the nurse and she came running in and when she saw me coughing she pressed the button to call the doctors and in 30 seconds flat all my doctors were there and everything went black.
Hunter’s POV
What did I do? What do I do?
Everything was going so well and now it’s a disaster.
Peleides started coughing blood and now they have to check his lungs and make sure he can breathe right.
“Sir there is a phone call for you” one of the nurses said to me. I looked at her in confusion as she led me to the phone and pressed a button. On the other side it sounded like someone sobbing.
“H-Hello?” I questioned.
“Y-Yes Hello? Is this the person in charge of my son?” the woman questioned.
“Yes” I answered breathless.
“H-How is he? Is he okay? What about his lungs. GOD SAY SOMETHING PLEASE!!!” She screamed.
“They are checking his lungs right now and making sure everything is okay. Please calm down.” I tried to reassure her.
“DON’T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!!! PELEIDES IS ALL THAT I HAVE LEFT IN THIS WORLD DON’T YOU EVEN DARE.” She kept screaming.
“I’m sorry” I said holding my head in shame.
“………….I’m sorry I…. I shouldn’t have screamed….. Just please tell me if you know anything.” She sobbed.
“No I don’t know anything yet but I will call you as soon as he is done” I said.
“Thank you” she sobbed.
I saw Carlson and said goodbye to Peleides mom and ran to him.
“How is he?” I asked in a panicked voice.
“We got him stabilized and breathing alright” Carlson announced making my heart less heavy.
“Thank God” I breathed.
“Hunter what were you thinking? He could have died if we didn’t get to him on time. You need to be more careful this isn’t a game.” Carlson said sternly but worried was in his eyes.
“I- I just wanted to make him laugh” I said with sadness.
Carlson was right I could have killed Peleides and everyone including me would hate me. Carlson took me to his room and told me to stay with him over night to watch over him. I didn’t argue and sat on the bed they set up for me right next to him. He was paled and had circles under his eyes. I looked at him and my heart twisted in pain. I almost killed him with just making him laugh. I almost killed him. I was almost to sleep when his voice reached me.
“It’s not your fault”
I looked at him; his eyes were closed so I decided it was just my mind playing tricks on me. I closed my eyes and went in to a deep sleep.
