“Jaeminie…”
Jimin snapped his head towards the stairs to find it empty. there were a lot of steps, he couldn’t see the end of it.
“Did you heard that?” Jimin asked Mr. Lee’s assistant, who looked at him confused.
“Heard what?” The short pink haired women asked, confused.
“Nothing.” Jimin smiled at her, thinking of it as his imagination.
After the interview, when he came out, it was already lunch time. That was it for today, the main shooting will only start tomorrow.
“What’s the plan after lunch?” Bora asked as she approached him with her usual smile.
“Let’s go and see Appa, Eomma and Jihyun. We can have lunch there.” Jimin grinned at her, excitement to visit his parents clearly on his face.
Bora nodded, her smile widening seeing his excitement.
“You know, Han Lina had been glaring at you, when you were talking to Mr. Baek.” Bora commented as they walked out of the palace.
“Whatever I do, she will glare at me.” Jimin rolled his eyes. “She is like my past life enemy.” He giggled at the thought.
“Then I am your past life sister.” Bora joined him.
As Jimin stepped out of the palace, he felt as if something pulling back him in to it. It’s not the force, but the way he felt a tug inside his heart like he is losing something that is dear to him. Jimin placed his hand on the chest, the quickening heartbeats thumping against his hand.
“Are you okay?” Bora asked, clearly concerned.
“Yeah.” Jimin replied, taking a deep breath. “Let’s go.”
When they got to his parent’s house, Jimin decided to stay that night at there. It had been so long he met them. It felt good to talk and enjoy his time with them.
One disadvantage of being an idol is, you won’t get any time for your family nor does for your friends. You will be busy most of the time. In Jimin’s case he don’t have to worry about friends, but he does miss his family.
But after these years he got used to it. Still he missed them so much.
“Hyung, I found our old album. Do you want to check it with me?” Jihyun, his little brother asked excitedly.
“Of course.” Jimin smiled at him. He also missed his brother. So he didn’t want to refuse, even though Bora had told him to not to stay awake late. They have to leave for the palace early morning. He won’t get much chance to spent time with his brother. So he decided to entertain him.
“Let’s go.” The eleven year old beamed up at him and dragged him towards his room.
As they went through an old album, Jimin found a baby photo of himself between them. In that photo he was about three or four year old and was standing with his bare back towards the camera.
But what caught his attention was the tiny symbol on the lower back of his bare body.
Jimin squinted his eyes to get better view. It was a tiny star symbol, which was not even clear.
What was that? Why did he have a star on his lower back when he was a child? Is it some sticker? But even if someone drew it there to entertain him, wouldn’t they do it somewhere where he can see it? Why would they draw it just above his booty? Does he have still that mark? But he hadn’t never noticed something like that.
“Jihyunie.” Jimin called his brother, who had been talking nonstop about how much adorable Jimin was when he was baby. “Please help me with something.” He said when the younger looked up at him.
“See this mark.” Jimin pointed towards the photo and continued. “Can you check hyung’s back and tell me, if that mark is on hyung’s back or not?” He asked.
Jihyun nodded and Jimin lifted his shirt for him to check.
“Yes, hyung. But it’s not clear.” Jihyun replied.
“Take a pic for me.” Jimin handed his phone to younger.
When Jihyun handed him the phone back, Jimin’s eyes widened. There is indeed a small star with seven vertex, on his lower back. It’s not clear, but like light grey tattoo on his back.
But Jimin never noticed something like that on his body. What is this thing? Is this birthmark? But how can birthmark be perfect shaped as if an artist drew it.
“Hyung, see this.” Jihyun’s voice brought him out of the thoughts.
So he continued looking through whatever Jihyun was showing him, until the smaller fell asleep beside him.
Feeling his own eyes heavy, Jimin also layed beside Jihyun. He have to wake up early too.
But he couldn’t sleep, as always the same dreams disturbing him.
Jimin stood in the balcony with with a glass of soju in his hand, staring out of the glowing city.
When he was in the palace previous night, he had slept really well.
He thought about the dream he had when he was at that palace. It was peaceful. There wasn’t any cries or blood in that dream, like it usually had.
And instead of the six people’s silhouette, he saw seven people this time. He couldn’t see their face, but they were dancing in a big hall, wearing silk traditional outfits. Even though their faces weren’t visible, they seemed so happy.
A subconscious smile made it’s way on to Jimin’s lips, thinking about their happiness, like he always felt whenever his loved one’s smiles.
Jimin thought back about the symbol in his back. He had seen that symbols sometimes in his dreams. But it was in black color, instead of the grey one he had. The one in his back is barely visible, but in his dream it was beautiful, sometimes he saw them glowing too.
What does that supposed to be mean? Is this dreams are related to his life? If so, how?
After drinking, Jimin felt a little heavy headed. That’s the only way he can sleep, other than using sleeping pills, which Bora will never allow him to take due to health issues.
With that in his thought, Jimin closed his eyes, falling in to another restless slumber.
That morning when they reached the palace Jimin felt relief washing over him. Like a sense of comfortableness like, when you get back to your home after a tired day.
Around ten o’clock director called all of them to start shooting.
It started with gathering them all in big circle and explaining the challenges and it’s rules.
After that, one by one all of them picked up the which group they will be in. No one know who is in which group, except themselves. They have to find their teammates without being tricked by other teams.
Jimin sighed. He really didn’t want to do this. But his company put him in this reality show, which will definitely gonna give him a headache. But anyway, he don’t have any intention to win. He will try to entertain the audience for the BELLs, who will be watching the show only for him.
With that he got up from where he was sitting, with a wide smile on his face. He decided, before finding his teammates he will try individual challenges, that way he can get as much token, even though group token have more value.
So he walked towards the staff, who are supposed to gave them challenges. The cameraman assigned for him followed him.
Most of the individual challenges were music related, like guess the song with english translation or sing the song in fully korean or guess the artist and all. All of them had unexpected twist in them. In between, there are some games like cham cham cham and rock paper scissors too.
After doing his best, Jimin earned thirteen tokens. Between these he made some effort to find his teammates. But it was hard as all of them looked like they are from other team.
Jimin walked through the hallway, holding the thirteen tokens in a pouch. If he found any staff with individual challenges, he can try them too.
But when he reached the bottom of the stairs, he bumped in to Han Lina, making the pouch in his hand to fell off.
“Oops. I didn’t saw you.” Lina said with a fake smile.
Jimin rolled his eyes at her and bend down to pick it up. But before he could touch it, she picked it.
“There are a lot of tokens.” She smirked, making Jimin frown.
Then in a swift motion she threw it up to the stairs, making it disappear in to the darkness.
“Now, go and find it.” With that she walked away, swaying her hip.
Jimin’s cameraman looked at him concerned. Jimin assured him with an eye smile. “Let’s go, and find it.” He said.
“No one is allowed to go upstairs, Sir.” The slightly chubby man warned him. Then shutting the camera, he leaned towards Jimin and continued in hushed voice. “And, I heard someone say, there is ghost upstairs.” He whispered.
Jimin giggled when he heard it. “Ghosts aren’t real.”
“No, it is. I heard this palace is cheap for shootings because of this. That’s why they choose this place for shooting.” The man whispered again.
“Maybe it’s because of the rumours. Anyway, I will go and take the pouch. You don’t have to follow me. I will be back quickly. They will delete these parts anyway.” With a wink Jimin smiled at the slightly chubby man. “Don’t tell anyone, okay?”
The man nodded his head vehemently, his pale cheeks turning pink.
With that Jimin walked up the stairs. As he took more steps up, it got darker and darker.
After searching with his phone’s flash, Jimin found the token pouch in one of the step.
Placing it in his jacket, Jimin looked up. If he walked few more steps, he can go to first floor.
Jimin felt as if someone is calling him from upstairs. So in trance, Jimin walked and walked until, he stopped in front of a closed wooden door, carved with ancient designs.
Putting the nervousness aside, Jimin opened the door, only to stop in his track to find himself in a large room.
The moonlight crept through the glass windows, gave him the full view of the room.
The room was a big and spacious with one wall full of floor to ceiling mirror. It was beautiful and it will be any dancer’s dream place to have that kind of room, without anyone’s disturbances.
But that’s not what made Jimin’s heart beating fast. It’s… The room was familiar.
Jimin froze in his spot.
It was the same room, that he had seen in his dreams many times, where he had seen the six silhouettes, the same wall mirror and also he had seen himself, cutting his own wrist.
