Mirror, the full wall mirror is the only thing Jimin could see with his blurry eyes.
Also, six silhouettes which was familiar but distant. He can’t see them properly. But he can feel that they are concerned. They seemed to staring at his hand.
Jimin looked down at his own hand. His eyes widened when he saw blood dripping down his wrist to the wooden floor.
As soon as he saw the blood, everything went black.
“JAEMINIE…” The last thing he heard was the scream of some people.
Jimin sat up abruptly feeling his heart thumping fast in his chest. He was soaked in his own sweat and was breathing hard.
These dreams have been bothering him for some time, if he say specifically since he turned twenty one.
It’s the same dream again and again. Always same six silhouettes, or a royal palace or a spacious wooden floored room with a wall mirror.
But one thing was constant, the floor to ceiling mirror. He always see those in his dreams.
At first he thought it’s because he always dances in front of the mirror. As an idol he spent most of his time in dance room after all. But now that the same thing repeats again and again he doesn’t know what to think of these dreams.
“Did you have that dream, again?” Hearing the gentle feminine voice behind him, Jimin sat up on the couch he was sleeping moments ago, and nodded.
“It’s always the same things.” Jimin complained running hands down his face.
“I think, you should consult a doctor. Maybe they can help.” The woman, his manager smiled down at him.
Jimin nodded. She had been talking to him about this for a while now. But he was too busy with concert and award shows, he didn’t have time for any of these.
But, he will be free after this week. His last performance is day after tomorrow. It’s for an award show. And after that he is free and going to take a break. So he decided to see a consultant about his problem.
“You should rest today. And continue practice tomorrow. You look tired.” His manager said passing him a bottle of water.
“No, Bora noona. I already took a nap. And I should work hard. I can’t afford to make any mistake. If something like that happens again, BELLs will hate me.” Jimin remembered the things that happened two month ago, as if it happened yesterday.
His earpiece wasn’t working properly and his voice cracked between the performance. He was really tired that day and his voice wasn’t in good shape. Just a tiny mistake in his five years of as an idol, and people started calling him as the worst singer in the K pop history. He was accused of using auto tune and lip syncing. The other fandoms who were waiting for a tiny mistake, started spreading hate towards him. Even most of his own fandom started hating him.
“It’s okay. Mistakes happens. You are also human. If they can’t accept your mistakes, they are not real fans. You will do good.” Bora patted his back in encouragement. Jimin smiled up at her.
She had been always there with him since he debuted as an idol. She was like a friend or like an older sister to him, helping him with everything and consoling him when he is sad or discouraged. Jimin is grateful to have her beside him.
“And Jiminie, I forgot to tell you, the show ‘Idol Escape’ director called me in the morning and told the shooting will start by the end of this week.” Bora informed him with an apologetic expression.
‘Idol Escape’ is a variety show, were K pop idols will appear and they will do some kind of escape room kind of thing. Jimin wasn’t interested in these kind of things.
Even though others won’t show it openly, there are a lot of people in the industry who don’t like him. Jimin knows it. So he don’t like to go on these things. But according to company and Bora, it’s good for him to appear in these kind of shows, because it will increase his popularity and it will make BELLS happy. So he agreed.
But now that, they are shooting earlier than they were supposed to, Jimin don’t even have time to rest properly. He just finished his concert and have an award show to attend. He thought he will be able to rest for at least one week.
“What? Shooting is supposed to be start after two weeks. Why are they starting soon?” Jimin frowned.
“They said, it’s because of the the site for the shooting isn’t available for that time.” Bora replied.
“They just had to find another place. Are other guests okay with it?” Jimin asked rolling his eyes.
“Yes, everyone agreed.” Bora said with a small smile. “Don’t worry, Jiminie. You can have your rest after this shoot.” She smiled reassuringly.
“Whatever.” Jimin sighed, left the room leaving Bora behind.
Jimin walked in to the practice room. It was empty and all the other idols and trainees in the company were already left for their dinner. He was glad for that, now he can practice without any disturbances.
He sat on the floor and started stretching before connecting his phone to speaker, playing the song ‘Who’, his recently released song and started dancing, while singing along with the song.
He have to make it perfect. And tomorrow he will practice it with his backup dancers. They are already perfect. But Jimin was just so stressed. He can’t afford to make any mistake for the award show.
So he practiced hard, until he was so tired and couldn’t even stand properly. Taking heavy breaths he stood up, wiping off his sweat with the towel from his duffle.
Looking at the phone, it was about to be midnight. He have to wake up at four in the morning for the practice. Before that, he at least need a little rest. So he decided to call it a day to go back home and sleep.
After the restless practice, it was already the day for the award show.
Sitting in front if the mirror, Jimin watched his reflection. The stylists and make up artists did a good job in his appearance. He was wearing a leather jacket, with off white button up shirt underneath it and blue denim pants that fit perfectly on his legs. The outfit was similar to the one he wore in the music video. His platinum blonde hair was parted in the middle making him even more handsome. The makeup was minimal, but his eyes stood out because of the smokey effect. It has always been Jimin’s signature style, cause the make up noona like his eyes a lot. According to her, his eyes are expressive and the smokey eye make up can give them an alluring effect. Jimin know she is good at work, so he let her do her job.
But now that he is ready to go on stage, Jimin felt himself getting nervous. The nights he had cried because of the hurtful comments and words flashed in front of his eyes. He have to do it perfect.
“Nervous?” He heard someone say and looked back at the owner of the deep voice. The man in his late twenties looked at him with a small smile.
Baek Yejun, the founder of BYJ entertainment and one of the well known previous generation K pop idol.
He was handsome and kind to his fans. He have that aura around him that screams perfection.
Yejun is someone Jimin had followed in his trainee days. He still admires the man. He is one of the most successful idol in the industry as he build up his own entertainment company. A perfect role model for upcoming idols. And Jimin was proud to say Baek Yejun is his idol.
“A little bit.” Jimin smiled at him, a little flustered to be noticed by his idol, even though it’s not the first time he is talking to him.
“You will do good.” The dark blue haired male patted his back with an assuring smile.
“Thank you.” Jimin smiled back, now feeling less stressed after talking to the older.
“See you again. Fighting.” Passing a big smile the taller man went out of the dressing room.
“All the best, Jiminie.” Bora give him a thumps up as he walked towards the stage, to perform his newly released song, which he have been practicing so hard these days.
When he stood on the stage, he forgot about all the nervousness he felt during the day.
According to BELLs he is different person on the stage. Jimin is easygoing and sunshine boy, off stage. But when he was on the stage, he became strong, as if a dance god had possessed him.
It was kind of true if you ask Jimin, cause whenever he starts dancing, he won’t remember anything. His full focus was on the steps he is doing. He sometimes even forgets about the singing. He tend to lost in the dance, when he start. It has always been like that, even in his childhood, as if he is born with that talent. That’s the reason he got in to the company even without having any dancing lessons. It’s like the dance is in his veins, even though in his family no one knew how to dance.
After becoming trainee Jimin worked so hard on himself. Even though his dance was good there are some things he lacked cause he is not professional. So he got lessons on it.
But the most hardest part was singing. He was not a natural singer. He never had been. But after working hard on himself, he got it. His singing become more beautiful by the time. Now he is one of the idols with most unique voice in the K pop industry. Now he can do high notes and low notes easily without struggles. According to his fans, even his voice have duality cause he can do any genre easily.
The love from his fans, the BELLs, gave him a sense of confidence. So he took a deep breath and promised himself to do the best.
As soon as the music started, the cheering got louder. Jimin started moving on the stage, the backup dancers followed his moves. The fan chant got louder as the dance went on.
By the end of the performance the audience cheered so loud. Jimin felt proud of himself that he didn’t made any mistakes.
Saying thanks to the crowd and back up dancers, Jimin bowed and walked out of the stage elegantly.
As soon as he know he was out of the audience sight, he bent down breathing heavily.
“It was perfect.” Jimin heard Bora behind him, who has a proud smile on her face.
Jimin smiled back relieved. He know if Bora said he did good it is good, cause she won’t give meaningless compliments. She is honest when talking about his performance. If he messed up, bshe will tell him where was the mistakes and will instruct him to improve that part and console him. She was definitely a dream manager and friend anyone could wish.
“Now, go and take a rest. We will leave for Busan tomorrow. They want you to be there by tomorrow night. So don’t waste time scrolling through the phone. Get as much as rest you can.”She scolded gently, then smiled. “And congratulations for winning four awards just in a night.”
“Thanks.”
Jimin sighed. He have to go to Busan tomorrow. He is gonna stay there until the shoot ends. But he was a little bit glad that it was his hometown were the shooting will be happening. That way he get to meet his parents. He hadn’t visit them for a long time now. He was busy with the world tour, the award show and all. And now the ‘Idol Escape’ shooting. He should take some time between the shooting to visit his parents house.
Making that decision he went towards the changing room. He have to rest today well, if he want to go to Busan tomorrow, without getting tired.
So he closed his eyes, tiredness slowly lulling him to sleep.
And as usual he saw that ancient palace in his dream, standing proudly as if waiting for him.
