“I can never forgive you,” the words came from Niall’s mouth as if he had said it. He wanted to take it back as soon as he saw Harry’s eyes turned blank. He knew he had hurt him, the person he loved. But he could not move his mouth to tell Harry he didn’t mean it.
Niall’s head only turned away from Harry as he felt the coldness of the tears that had run off his eyes to the meta table where he lied.
Why? Why did he say such hurtful things to Harry? Why?
“Because it wasn’t you who said it,” a woman’s voice came. “Don’t feel guilty about it, Quill, or should I say Niall now? You do remember everything now, right, Quill?”
“Goddess?” He asked. She sounded like the woman who asked him permission to use his body as vessel.
“Yes, Quill, it’s me who made you say it,” the woman answered.
“Why?” He asked sobbing, confused about everything, about why the goddess of the moon would make him hurt his mate, his one true half.
The conversation wasn’t really happening in reality, they were only talking in his head. And nobody but Quill knew it.
“Why did you make me do such horrible things?”
“It’s because my son died, Quill. It’s because of you that my son, Azval died. He gave his heart to you, and now his body is no longer leaving. So this is my revenge.”
“What are you talking about?” Quill asked more confused and in pain. Az… why is Az dead? And why was this woman claiming to be Az’s mother.
“It’s simple really?” The woman answered. “I’m not who you think I am,” she laughed. “You were so innocent that I’ve managed to trick you.”
“You… you tricked me?” Quill asked puzzled. What was the moon goddess saying?
“I’m not the moon goddess. If you’d ask me I’d say the goddess stopped caring about the world a long long time ago, that’s why she didn’t even do something when I ticked you into letting the druid be slaughtered by the humans,” she explained.
“Yes Quill, it wasn’t the goddess’ will that the Druids should be all killed. It was mine, my revenged.”
Quilt felt the guilt like a knife slicing his heart as he tremble in tears. He had caused his people’s destruction, because he had been so naïve into thinking that it was the goddess’ will.
“Why would you do that?” He cried feeling the blame. “Why make me do such horrible things?”
“Why wouldn’t I?” She answered rhetorically. “The druids put me and my people to sleep and buried us under the earth. But thanks to you Quill, I can change that. I can finally return my kingdom to normal.”
“What do you mean? Who are you?”
“I am no other than Eve Eltysta,” she answered. “…the queen of the Eltysta Vampires. And thank you for giving me permission in using your body, now, sleep for a while.”
“No!”
“Oh, Yes Quill. I’ll be using this body, to undo what your ancestors did.”
“Stop!” Quill yelled as he felt his energy fading. “Stop!” He cried. But even when he wanted to resist, Quill felt darkness surrounding him, and he fell into a deep slumber.
“What do you mean, something isn’t right?” Louis, the first Prince of the Faes asked Zayn. The prince’s wings flickered while he hovered over the water where the merman prince and his army swam towards their destination.
The Fae army hovered over the sky behind their prince, while the water splashed with every movement of the Mer people following their leader.
“Can you tell me the prophecy again?” Zayn asked to confirm his suspicions. He only heard the prophecy from Louis when their two armies met at the shore of Woodbridge.
“The prophecy came from the witches, we don’t even know if it’s true.” Louis answered but Zayn knew there were truths in it.
“Just say it again,” the Mer prince insisted as the silhouette of a small island came in sight. So the elf prince conveyed the complete prophecy.
“On the night the goddess slumbers
Her bright light, the shadows covers
A night that comes every hundred years
Comes the freedom of the Fears
A Druid, the last blood shall spill
Against the holy mother’s will
To cast a spell, the lunar bane
To make goddess’ power wane
Beware, the night, to which I speak
The night, death’s number rise its peak
It is the night, the goddess cries
Crimson blood above the skies
The Fears, to rise again, they shall
Where the earth unlocks its wall
Where the goddess caged them all
Where fate caused the Druids to fall
Beware, we shall, the fallen one
Deceitful beauty, for the eyes
She used to be a holy one
From grace she fell, before she dies
She cursed the land, we walk
By words, her mouth had talk
It is her will, to free the Fears
For freedom through their spears
Five powers then shall weaken
And blood of kings be spilled
For the seal to finally be broken
Five kings, they will be killed
“Shit!” The Mer prince cursed. He knew it. His instincts were right after all. He knew there was more to this event than just greed of a few witches.
They already knew that the first three stanzas talk about the death of the last druid during the red moon, or the eclipse. The next three stanzas talk about an army, led by a woman who fell from grace.
At first, it pointed to Rhiannon, but Zayn knew it’s not her. It doesn’t literally points to death, but it might also refer to a death like curse. And it would make sense, for a queen to curse the land, after her people was put to a death like sentence. And Zayn just knew one queen who might be that one.
The last stanza talks about the requirements of the ritual which they should stop.
“Why?” Louis asked in confusion totally not understanding how Zayn was acting
“I think the Fears, I know them. They’re the Eltysta Vampire.”
“Wait… what?” Louis asked. The Fae prince had heard of them. They were creatures vile enough to deserve eternal sleep under the Earth. But they were only in stories he heard from his mother.
“The vampires that the druids had cursed into an eternal sleep, that’s them. They were put to sleep only because they cannot be killed,” Zayn explained.
“Oh!”
“Let’s hurry,” Zayn told his comrade as they sped to approach the small islet miles away from Woodbridge where the witches erected their castle. “Let’s just hope we get there in time.”
“Please take care of him,” Harry asked his Beta Remus, as he took one last glimpse of his mate. The rejection and guilt started eating his heart, and he could feel it. He could feel the beast inside him take over.
Harry knew this would happen, and with Quill’s hate for him, the beast turned stronger.
The alpha turned around and jumped off the castle in his human form, but he landed perfectly fine. It was a sign that the changed had started. He’s no longer a Were creature. He had turned into a monster.
But Harry knew this would even before he decided to let the beast free. They were taught this things, that’ why it’s forbidden for Weres to give their beasts total control of their body.
When a were gives free reign to their beast, there’s little chance to get the total control again. In this case they become what they call a berserker.
Harry dashed towards the forest. He heard his sister calling him but he didn’t turn back.
How could he?
He doesn’t want to disappoint them, his sister, his pack and his mate. Hell, he doesn’t want to let them see how he changed. How he let himself change. How he was losing control.
He felt the bone on his back curved as the shift started. The surrounding blur as he sped to go farther. His visions were becoming red, and his memories started to fade.
He reached the bay, but saw so many flying things above the water coming towards his direction. He run again back inside the forest, and found a cave. There he entered the darkness feeling everything fade.
Why was he running?
Who was he running from?
Who was he?
He turned his head on his arms to see paws?
What is he?
He turned to look at his legs and saw paws. He’s standing on two pawed legs, while his hands were also hairy paws.
He heard voices passing through the cave, so he moved deeper, and deeper. He has to hide from them. He cannot defeat such number. He will wait first… he will strike when they least expect.
The war ended with the witches surrendering after the Faes and the Mermen came. Zayn and Louis Immediately rounded everyone up with their army and the witches taken into captivity to stand for trial.
Rhiannon took more than ten druid body that were taken by the witches and then have them burned, except her own body. She still needed a ritual performed on her body so that her soul could rest.
“I think you were too harsh to Harry,” she told Niall as soon as she saw him up and looking at the three wonderful little boys he carried inside him for days.
“He almost ate my children,” the male druid answered taking the biggest boy of the tree. The little boy had a cute protruding canine that bit on Niall’s finger when he put it near the child’s lips. He let the child suck on his blood.
“I’m going to name him Liam,” he said turning to the dead body of the vampire that gave him his heart. “This is after all Azval’s child that the fairy queen saved when Quill was killed.”
“You’re saying that as if you’re not Quill.”
“I am now,” he answered. “I’m taking back that name, my druid name, because my other boy would be called Niall, and this one… the half wolf half druid will be named after his father Harry.”
“Rhiannon,” Zayn called the druid. “I have something to tell you about the prophecy. I think it’s not over yet.”
“I’ll be right back Quill,” the female druid spirit said and left the tower with the Merman prince leaving Quill and the three babe alone.
“Indeed, it isn’t over,” Quill muttered. “And if I should say so myself, it has just started,” a grin curved his lips.
Quill moved away from the three towards Oberon’s body and dragged it in the center of the room. He then walked towards the dead body of the Supreme Alpha and dragged it towards Oberon’s body.
“Two kings, and three more to go,” Quill smiled.
He then moved towards Azval’s body and dragged it together with the other two.
“I need two more,” he counted drawing a triangle on the floor surrounding the bodies. After finishing the drawing, he moved to the babies and kissed each on the cheeks.
“I’ll be back, boys, and with an army,” and he went inside the triangle chanting “Triangulum.”
A quick flash of light appeared and then he was teleported inside a huge chamber where he knew Methuselah’s old body lies. He walked towards a huge bed covered with thin white bed curtains and saw the wrinkled body of the witch.
“Such an ugly creature,” he commented before grabbing the long grey hair of the lifeless body and dragging it towards the three bodies he had already collected.
“Now, let’s go visit the merman king,” he said drawing another triangle on the floor surrounding the four bodies and chanting “Triangulum.”
Another flash of lights came and he magically appeared inside the throne room of King Triton, the king of the Mermen.
“I love the smell of Mermen, they always smell so tasty,” he murmured to himself before looking at the throne where the bearded king sat.
The room was just like a normal throne room, not filled with water. And the people around looks humanoid, walking in two feet, only they have some shiny scaled on some part of their body. And they don’t really wear much clothing.
Guards immediately surrounded Quill pointing their spears towards his neck, but he didn’t mind them. In fact, he kneeled towards the king.
“Quill, is that you?” Triton sounded surprised, but it’s a natural reaction.
“Point your spears away, he’s a friend,” the king commanded
“King Triton,” Quill answered. “It is me in the flesh.”
“You… you looked like you haven’t changed since we last met.” The king walked towards him telling him to stand up and he did.
Triton opened his arms to take him into a hug since they have been friends for a long time. And Quill moved towards him, but he didn’t go for the hug. He thrust his hand deep inside the unsuspecting king’s chest and crushed his heart.
“I did changed Triton,” he spoke. “This might be Quill’s body, but Quill isn’t home right now. It’s me, the one you schemed with the druids to put to sleep. It’s Eve Eltysta.”
The guards rushed to rescue their king but Quill only waved his hand chanting “Hydra,” and a seven headed water serpent appeared attacking the guards.
The beast fended the guards while Quill dragged the dead king towards the pile of bodies he brought, and draw a triangle around them.
“Triangulum,” he chanted and the flashing lights appeared again before they disappeared from the throne room of the mermaid king and got magically transferred together with the four bodies at the front of the dead oak on the dead hill.
“Stop right there,” Quill heard voices from behind him and a smile crept on his lips. He expected them to notice but they did too soon.
“Well, well, looks like I’ve been found out,” he said turning back.
“Eve Eltysta,” Zayn pointed his trident on the woman just before he saw a dead body on the floor.
“Oh, I visited your daddy,” the druid said glancing on the corpse of the dead king.
“You!” Zayn held attacking but Louis grabbed him to stop.
“We won’t let you do this,” Louis said and the wolf behind them shifted ready for attack. They were Harry’s pack without their alpha.
“Really?” Quill only smiled.
“I already have the five core ingredients needed, the five power or the five kings as you’ve prophesize. Here’s the eldest witch, the supreme alpha, the fae king, the mermaid king, and the last druid.”
“We will kill you before you even start the ritual,” the wolves roared ready to leap.
“Ow… by the way,” Quill turned to the transparent Rhiannon and the color of his eyes changed. “I have another ally in your midst.”
“No!” Rhiannon screamed before her body disappeared and then reappeared behind Quill.
Rhiannon’s eyes were blank and she started to call fort fire foxes and hydras to face Zayn and the others.
“Rhiannon hadn’t noticed but whenever she stayed near this tree, this house, I had also taken over her soul slowly. You see, they called me the whisperer in time of old, and my whispers were very hard to resist, one reason why my race was shut down.”
“And you know what I would whisper to her… to this female druid?”
For I shall not rest, until they bleed
And reap their planted seed
In the name of greed
For I shall not die, until I give
Justice to the graves that grieve
No sinners is to live”
“The female druid, she repeated it, like it’s her purpose but it was mine. Both she and Quill were too naive… they thought the one whispering to them was the goddess. It was just me.”
“All five powers now have fallen
For the lunar bane, I sacrifice
So let the moon be forever hidden
And let my fallen kingdom rise
Let the sleeping spell be broken
As forever red stains the skies.”
Eve inside Quill’s body chanted the line twice then pointed his fingers to his neck and cut his throat. Letting the blood spill on the ground as the body drop one top of the four corpse, making the body count five.
“The spell is casted, now it shall be, now fallen kingdom I command you to rise,” Rhiannon chanted, her eyes still blank. Suddenly the five bodies near the oak burned with blood red flame.
Fire covered all four corpse, eating them, turning all to ashes in a short while except for Niall’s body that kept regenerating due to the Vampire heart given to him by Liam.
After things turned to ashes, a crack started to appear on the huge oak tree. The crack started to get bigger, creeping from the center trunk of the tree in both upward and downward direction. It moved rapidly until it split the three in half.
The three then broke turning into ashes leaving a small hole on the ground.
The sky turned to a darker shade of red and the ground started to shake. Then from the hole on the ground appeared a triangular thing that grew bigger and bigger. The ground shook even harder splitting the Earth in half as the revealing that the triangular shape thing was a roof. And a huge castle emerged from the ground, replacing the old mansion as the Earth totally seaprated.
“What happened,” Quill opened his eyes as he woke from his slumber, his body back to normal. Behind him was Rhiannon looking at the huge castle in front of them. She was back to her normal self.
“Quill,” he heard Zayn calling him. “Is that the really you? And Rhiannon too?”
“What do you mean,” Quill asked before staring at the castle on the hill. “Don’t tell me I did this.”
“We did,” Rhiannon muttered softly. “She tricked us, Quill.”
“Eve did this,” Louis answered. “It’s none of your fault.”
“This is bad,” Quill muttered.
“That’s an understatement,” they heard a woman’s voice from behind them. They all turned their head and saw the Fae Queen. “We should prepare for a war… a war I’m not certain we can win.”
And as the queen finished speaking, shadows appeared on the windows of the castle.
Quill closed his eyes, forcing the tears to stay. There’s no point in crying now, it can do nothing to change what happened. He blamed himself totally. If only he heeded the warning his past existence gave him.
“Trust not the one that speaks of love
For all the tongue can lie
And misery is all you’ll have
And in misery you’ll die”
The first one talk about Harry, and although Harry didn’t lie, the wolf also didn’t know the whole truth which then brought misery to Quill/Niall.
“Trust not the one who bids protection
For all the tongue can lie
And all he has is pure deception
And deceive you ’till you die”
Trust not the one who claims a friend
For all the tongue can lie
He’ll only use you ’till the end
And drain you ’till you die
These two stanzas talked about the protection the witches and Verona offered and the friendship they claimed.
Trust only him who gives his heart
For hearts, they cannot lie
Even when you drift apart
He’ll love ’til he dies.”
And this last one talks about Liam, who literally gave Quill his heart. But it could have been prevented if he had avoided Harry and Verona. If only he realized it sooner. If only…
Her eyes opened revealing her red irises. A smile curved her lips as she stretched her arms standing from the throne where her body sat for the longest years.
“It’s nice to finally stretch my arms,” she said as she saw her people started to move. “Rise up children… and take back what belongs to us.”
Her laughed echoed inside the castle and even the creatures outside heard her. || That’s all folks!
