Baekhyun was pacing back and forth. Today was the day they will tell his parents about his pregnancy. To say that he was nervous was an understatement. He had never done anything remotely wrong to his parents until the day he found he was pregnant.

It all started when him and his best friend got carried away at an after party. Being the lonely birds, with no such luck with love, they both asked each other to the prom, as friends, of course.

They danced the night away, made silly jokes, and slightly kissed before they got invited to an after party. Chanyeol is on the soccer team, so it was logical that he would get invited to parties hosted by the most popular teens in their high school.

“I can’t believe that we are going to an after party!” Baekhyun gushed, his body all giddy with too much sugar in his system.

“What’s so interesting about an after party? People get wasted and then they end up dead asleep with too much alcohol in their system.” Chanyeol turns off the engine, and jumps of the car to open the door to his not exclusive date.

“Are you kidding me? I’m going to Brenda Sander’s house, the most popular girl in school. No biggie,” Baekhyun says with a sarcastic tone, his eyes rolling at Chanyeol’s comment.

“Brenda is a slut, she slept with half the soccer team. I don’t see anything pleasant from coming here.”

Chanyeol was behind Baekhyun as they walked up to the house which consisted of wasted teenagers sprawled all over the grass and empty beer cans lining up the trail of pebbles that lead to the house.

While Baekhyun was excited, Chanyeol was nervous. Nobody knew he had a somewhat relationship with Baekhyun, nevertheless that he knew the petite boy. Nobody, I mean, nobody knew about their relationship, whatever kind they had. Not the junior class, not their friends, not their family- absolutely nobody knew about it. Well except today, for the people who saw them at the party and at prom.

Luckily, none of their friends have seen them together. Chanyeol made sure that they were farther away from the spotlight, mostly hiding themselves wherever there was less light.

Inside of the house, Chanyeol saw himself between the people he knew in the soccer team and cheerleading team. Brenda was with the goalie while the other boys were playing beer pong with the girls. Relief washed over his face, knowing that they were to focus on their game to notice that he was there.

Chanyeol drags an awe struck Baekhyun to the kitchen. There’s no one there, luckily for him. “You want some beer?” He takes two glass beers from the fridge.

“Sure.” Baekhyun jumps on the table and takes a chip to his mouth, munching with delight.

“Didn’t take you for a drinker?” Chanyeol raises his eyebrows, amuse and pleased at the same time.

“Didn’t take you as a someone who went to high school parties either, although you’re in sports, so that shouldn’t be a surprise.” Baekhyun takes a chug out of the beer, the bubbling sensation passing through his esophagus and into his stomach. “Ahh, refreshing.”

“I’m not. I hate parties but you insisted, so I did what you asked.” Chanyeol takes the beer out of Baekhyun’s hand, spreads Baekhyun’s  legs apart, and gets in between the space that his legs provide, his mouth closer to Baekhyun’s.

“I thought we were friends?” Baekhyun is confused by Chanyeol’s actions but is turned on by them. He doesn’t really care about his response, he just wants him to kiss him.

“Are we? It doesn’t matter what we are, I want you this instant.” Chanyeol doesn’t let Baekhyun answer because he already has him on his hip, kissing him on his neck as he takes them to a near room. Chanyeol throws him to bed and locks the door.

Months passed for them in somewhat slow motion. Their love was a friction of war between each other. They didn’t want to admit that they like each other despite having sex and admitting their love afterwards. It was as if they erased that moment to only discuss of their relationship being finally be shown to the world.

Summer was approaching and so was their revelation. Three pregnancy tests, two fights, and one week of not speaking to each other, did they finally admit their relationship. They knew that it wouldn’t work out if they did not admit what they truly had.

Baekhyun did not want to end up being a single mother and Chanyeol didn’t want to be a douche and leave Baekhyun with all the responsibility. Even more than just wanting to work their relationship for their baby, they did it because they knew that what they were feeling was love for each other.

There was a few weeks left before school was over. It was getting hot so his excuse of wearing jackets because he was cold would not work him any longer.

“Stop, fretting over this love, your parents aren’t going to throw you out. They love you too much.” Baekhyun couldn’t shake the feeling off. He wouldn’t stop pacific back and forth until it was time to tell them.

“My mother is going to be disappointed. She wanted me to go to Juilliard and now I won’t be able to.”

“Juilliard is not going away any time soon. I’m sure things will work out itself soon.” Chanyeol tries to sooth Baekhyun but he knows deep inside that won’t work. He’s  worry for the both of them. His parents will probably get him off the soccer team and from their vacation to the Hamptons.

That really doesn’t bother him at all. He only worries that they won’t support him financially. He plans to get a job but he does admit that without their parents support, they can’t survive other than working two jobs and quitting school in order to take these two jobs.

“I guess, you’re right. I just feel bad for Lay. It’s his birthday and we’re going to ruin it.”

Lay is Baekhyun’s older brother. They adopted him when before he was born. Baekhyun’s parents couldn’t conceive, so when they visited an orphanage back in China when they were in their honeymoon, they immediately felt like Lay was meant for them. Three years later, his mother got pregnant with him, unknowingly that she still had some eggs in her that still worked.  Him and Lay were brought up as blood brothers so to them, that is what they are.

Now Lay is turning 19. His mother wanted him to have a small party with their close friends and family. Baekhyun invited his best friend Xiumin. While Lay invited D.O whom invited Chanyeol. Chanyeol had to sneak away from the party to talk to Baekhyun.

The only one who knows about their relationship is Xiumin. He’s the one keeping the others distracted so that they wouldn’t suspect that the other two were missing.

“Lay is going to be thrilled that he’s going to be an uncle. Besides, his most important birthday is when he turns 21 so you are definitely not ruining it.”

“I still feel bad though.” By now, Baekhyun is beyond nervous. He just wants to get over with. He can’t take not knowing what they’re going to tell him or if they’re going to be super disappointed.

“Come lay with me a little. You need to relax.” Chanyeol drags Baekhyun to his bed, laying him on his stomach. He drapes his arms on top of Baekhyun’s and circles his hand on Baekhyun’s still unnoticeable, little bump.

“Thank you for not leaving me. I don’t think I can do this without you.”

“I would never leave you. I don’t want to be  those douche fathers that leave their kids to their mother and don’t pay child support. I want to be there for him, I want him to have a father.” Chanyeol lightly smiles, kissing Baekhyun’s head. Seeing himself running towards his son at a park is stuck in his mind, replaying over and over.

“You would never be a douche to me. It was my fault for not wanting to tell people that we were dating. I just didn’t want shit from the others. And plus you’re a soccer player, I would of definitely gotten hate from the other girls, I mean, they basically drool over you.”

Chanyeol chuckles, turning Baekhyun around to face him. Baekhyun is laying on his side, his head on top of Chanyeol’s forearm. “Who cares about the other girls being mad. The only thing that matters is that you are by my side, that you are my boyfriend, and that I can’t wait until I tell the world that I am going be a father, no matter our age.”

“I wish I had your confidence about this.” Baekhyun pouts, his heart filled with worry and disappointment. Not for him but for his mother. He knows how much of an expectation Juilliard is for his mother.

“Baekhyun,I need you to understand, that no matter what happens, we are in this through together. I’ll never leave you, and I’ll fight to give you guys a better life.” Chanyeol seals his promise with a delicate kiss on Baekhyun’s lips. Baekhyun nods, his eyes looking down at Chanyeol’s hands. Baekhyun brings Chanyeol’s hand and brings it to his heart. He slowly looks up to his eyes and smiles at him with a warm heart,” Thank you.”

“I was looking for you everywhere dude. Mom wants to take a picture of us to add in her photo album.” Upon seeing Baekhyun walking back to the tables, Lay pulls him to their mother where she is standing in front of Lay’s cake with a camera on her hands.

“There you are, honey. Where did you go?” Mrs. Byun smiles at her son, the camera already going to her eyes.

“To the bathroom.” Baekhyun forces his smile, his heart beating faster now that he is closer to telling his mother the truth.

Lay brings over his hand under Baekhyun’s neck, and pulls him closer. He can see from his peripheral vision that Lay is doing the V sign, his dimples probably showing.

“Can I go now?” He asks his mother. He can feel his soul leave his body every second he doesn’t tell his parents about his secret.

Baekhyun catches Chanyeol’s reflection on the small hexagon shape mirror that they have in their living room. He’s talking to his friend D.O. and D.O’s boyfriend Kai. Chanyeol looks a little nervous by the way his fingers are fiddling.

“Byun Baekhyun, don’t be rude. You know how important is to take pictures of the two of you on your birthdays. Your father is next.” His mother gives him a stern look as she gives her camera to her sister so that she can take a picture of them, just their small little family.

Baekhyun forces a smile again so that it appears that he is happy. He doesn’t want to make a fuss again and make his mom angry before he tells her he’s pregnant and really make her and his father angry.

“Woah, this is the first time I don’t see you laughing with your brother, what’s going on? “Xiumin asks, his face plastered with concern. Baekhyun nudges his arms, not finding the words to say ‘oh you know, I’m moments before disappointed my mother so I’m really nervous’.

“Your face does look sullen. I think your grandma looks worried,” D.O chips in, clearly worried as well. Baekhyun wasn’t really friends with him but he knew he was nice and very friendly so seeing him care for him made him more emotional. He didn’t want to upset any one else but he can just feel his mother’s disappointment already. He hates that feeling and it won’t go away if they don’t tell them now. He just needs to get them to their room so he can spill out.

“Is it because you’re dating Chanyeol?” Xiumin says seconds before he realizes what he says. He covers his mouth with his hands and gives Baekhyun a sorry and guilty look.

“Oh, my?” D.O. let’s out a breath. Kai and Lay look impressed and Chanyeol is red with the  announcement.

“So Chanyeol is the father of your kid?” Lay smiles, nodding his head because he finally figured it out who was the father after finding out the pregnancy tests in the trash bin outside.

“Say what! Baekhyun you’re pregnant? How?” Xiumin is speechless along with D.O. and Kai. Lay doesn’t look puzzled and but does look like he’s in a daze. Baekhyun is hyperventilating, his throat going in knots.

Chanyeol is by his side, trying to sooth him, to tell him everything is going okay. Baekhyun feels like his energy is dropping and is feeling faint.

All around him, he can hear the others arguing with each other. He can sense his extended family already getting the gossip which may pretty fast reach his parents.

“Baekhyun, are you okay?” He can distantly hear Chanyeol ask him. He can feel a hand trying to give him air. He tries to nod but his eyes feel heavy and the last thing he remembers is his head falling to Chanyeol’s side.

Baekhyun eyes flutter, the flashback of his friends finding out his secret comes vivid to him. Sensing that something bad happened,  his body tries to cooperate with his mind, he forcefully tries to get up but is stopped by a pair of strong hands forcing him down to bed.

“Oh, honey, are you okay?” His mother appears in front of him, searching every inch of his body with her soft delicate hands. Baekhyun nods, grabbing her hand with a sad smile.

“Eomma, he’s pregnant, not hurt.” Lay tells his mother, with a mock of innocence. He really doesn’t say this to make fun of his brother, he really is innocent in some kind of way.

“Oh, hush, Lay. Why didn’t you tell me your brother was pregnant, if you knew about it.” Mrs. Byun swats his older son on the arm, making his son burst into giggles while soothing his arm.

“I’m sorry mother for disappointing you.” Baekhyun sobs, his tears rushing down like a cascade going through a stream.

Mrs. Byun’s face perishes into soft and delicate, her heart warming with sympathetic understanding. She understood by what he meant with disappointing. He was always a momma’s boy- both of her sons were. She has always ingrained them with values, morals, and with the pursuit of their dreams. She only told how much she wanted Baekhyun to go to Juilliard was because she saw the potential of his talent, how much he loved acting. She never mean to appear as if he didn’t go that she’ll be disappointed in him. All she cared was that both her sons  did what they most loved and be happy while doing so.

“Baekhyun, listen,” she tells him with love and authority,” you did not disappoint me with what you think. You disappointed me with that you got pregnant at such a young age. Your life is going to be challenged now, and perhaps, your dreams might not come true because being a parent is a commitment to both the child and itself. I’m glad that you have the other father of your baby but this is still going to be difficult for both of you.” Mrs. Byun brings Chanyeol’s hand closer to her and her son’s.

“You’re not mad, Mrs. Byun?” Chanyeol asks amazed. He thought that they would kick him out and that he had to fight to be able to be with Baekhyun.

“Of, course I’m mad but this isn’t the time to give you guys a lecture on how stupid you guys did for getting pregnant at this age. Right now you guys need support and a lecture on how both your lives are going to change, dramatically.”

“Where is dad?” Baekhyun asks, his eyes searching the entire room for him. His body is at ease now that he knows his mother is not really mad at him. He still feels sad though because he knows his father has a different view on him.

“Your dad is surprised and a little angry but he’ll come around. He loves you with all his heart that he doesn’t have the heart to hate you for something that was unexpected.” Baekhyun nods again, hurt that his father is not with him but he has Chanyeol and that is all that matters.

“So like I don’t know if the party was over or not but… we got cake already.” Kai and D.O. come rushing in to the door and plop on Baekhyun’s bed.

“We’ll take you to the cheesecake factory, Lay so that you can have your favorite dessert.” Mrs. Byun says with a fit of laughter after seeing her son pout at the sight of his friends eating his cake.

“Eomma, that was my cake! It had Llamas on it.” Lay cries out, going to her and letting his emotion out to her. “It’s alright, love. We’ll make you another one.” She walks him to the living room where they can proceed the party along, this time with juice gossip upon their conversation.

“This is like the best birthday party ever,” Kai says after Mrs. Byun and Lay are out of the room. D.O smacks his arm causing him to yelp.

“You haven’t been to mine. We have a home made cake eating contest. It’s who can out eat the birthday family member.” Xiumin chips in.

“Can I go, I love food.” Kai tells him with excitement.

“Unless you can out eat his uncle,  then sure. He prides himself with being the very best in the family.” Baekhyun tells Kai with a smile. Xiumin’s uncle is very serious about the eating contest. You don’t want to offend him about it.

“I’m good. I can just eat what D.O-shi makes me for me.” Kai gloats, smiling towards D.O. who rolls his eyes at him playfully.

“I’m glad that you’re fine, Baekhyun. You scared me for a second. I’ll go bring you cake, okay. C’mon guys, lets leave the two parents alone.” Xiumin gets up, prompting the others to follow him.  Baekhyun yells and throws a pillow to his best friend, he wasn’t yet ready to hear the word parent directly go linked with his name.

“I told you that everything was going to be alright.” Chanyeol gets inside the covers and gets closer to his boyfriend.

“Now we have to tell your parents, though.” The thought of telling another set of parents that they’re going to have a child merely exhausts him.

“Let’s not worry about that. Forget about it for a while, let’s just cuddle together.” Chanyeol makes whiny noises, his head nuzzle in Baekhyun’s chest while his legs wrap around Baekhyun’s. Baekhyun giggles, his hand going through Chanyeol’s strands of hair. What could be better than this right now? Nothing. Baekhyun closes his eyes and enjoys this peaceful moment with his lover.
