Talon had a habit of always saying what was on his mind. Sometimes it was good. Sometimes it was bad.
Most of the times it was good, but as it went on it turned bad . Talon spoke fast, misplaced words, mispronounced them and usually was made fun of for that.
Eventually he started practicing before a mirror. He tried speaking more slowly. Quieter, clearer. Picking each word carefully.
And he reached his goal. Talking slowly, quietly, gently. It came to him easier then speaking louder and faster. I strained his vocal cords. It came off as unnatural
So he was more then happy with the pace he achieved. He didn’t mind people thinking he was retarded. At least he didn’t feel stupid anymore.
But somehow Cadis made that perfect pace come undone. He would rush the words. He would slow down too much.
He didn’t know what was happening. It was different. He liked that sort of different. But there was something that terrified him of hearing Cadis out about that night
It would either end with him indeed been out of control. And that would hurt Talon no doubt
Or
It would end with Cadis liking Talon. Which would make Talon come undone completely. Because he knew nothing of been with someone he liked
And that’s when he figured how differently he liked Dax and how he liked Cadis.
Dax,was out of adoration. Dax was the brother Talon missed. A chance of a new family. His star in the night. His guardian.
Cadis however, he set a fire within Talon. Raw lust. But the kind of lust you feel when you want to be in someone’s arms. To hold them and breathe in their scent
Ocean and sulfur.
He shuddered. He wasn’t sure what to do with himself. So he did what he was best at doing. He lit a candle, send his gratitudes to his gods and goddesses, slid on his back pack and went to school

How cliché. Accidentally bumping into each other in the same old bathroom for a smoke.
Cadis looked down at Talon. His eyes a monotone grey. Dark. Empty
Talon tried to smile. He knew it came of weird. Strained. But Cadis didn’t mind as he scooted closer over at Talon and sat beside him on the cold floor
“Do you feel it?”
“It’s getting colder”
Answered Talon
“That’s the beauty of winter”
Talon looked at Cadis. He couldn’t help but wonder. Why did he always look so lonely and lost? As if everyone had forgotten him. As if he were a ghost
“The air feels more clean. It’s also pleasant”
Cadis nod and took out a cigarette from his pocket. Talon was already smoking one,so Cadis didn’t offer any.
He scooted closer to Talon and rested his body on the boy. Talon smiled slightly. He run his fingers through Cadis sky black hair.
“Why are you a satanist?”
“I was”
“You said you are”
“I just happen to follow some of their “virtues”
Talon nod and Cadis took in a sharp breath
” it’s simple. I didn’t like lies and stories that covered the side that weren’t convenient for the author”
“Lies?”
“Technically, they weren’t hiding much. But how they represent evil as Satan triggered me. How they mixed up Satan and Lucifer. It was odd.”
“Two different demons right?”
“Who went to hell for two different reasons”
“Right…”
Cadis sigh
“All in all I got a little too deep into the whole thing and idolized their bible as a holy item. But then I realized I was crossing the line. Not them. Just me going a little too far. So I stopped myself altogether”
“I see…”
“Why are you a pagan?”
Talon stopped caressing Cadis hair. He was struck with the memory of golden and chestnut brow locks. A lazy pierced grin. The memory of his brother was a sun in the winter. Bright, but not warm
“Runs in the family”
“So you went with the flow?”
“I was interested. You know paganism is sort of like a drug. Once in you can’t go out. It’s too good”
Cadis rolled up the sleeve of Talons jacket. Talon didn’t protest. Cadis balanced the cigarette between his lips and unwrapped the dirty bandages
He took a sharp intake and clenched his teeth crushing the cigarettes bud in the process
“Talon are you serious?”
He said his voice strong like thunder. A hurricane.
“My brother Told me to always show my gratitude to my guardian”
“If he were a guardian he wouldn’t ask you to harm yourself”
“Why not?”
Cadis shook his head and gently pressed his lips against the damaged wrist
“Because a guardian would panic if he saw even the slightest of scratch on your body. Has it ever crossed your mind. That who you are interacting with, might be a perfectly disguised demon ?”
Talons eye were open wide. He needed no further explaining. Everything made sense now.
Starting from his brother.
