YAY!! The long awaited Yoonjin story part 3!! Sorry for the long wait and hope you guys enjoy ^^

(continued)

Jin woke up abruptly, it wasn’t his annoying alarm clock that was bothering him, neither was it the glaring sunrays that threaten to burn his room every Saturday morning.

He turned to his left, to find the spot empty. He looked around, few minutes of silence before recalling what exactly happened last night. It was no surprise he would wake up at Yoongi’s house, he does that every week, before Yoongi disappeared.

But today, there wasn’t any morning kisses, there wasn’t any morning cuddles, there wasn’t somebody to tell him he look totally hot with his morning face, everything was no longer the same.

Jin looked at his bare body, and sighed. Yoongi still decided to leave him alone after all.

He turned to the side table to find a pink post-it and a pair of rings. Jin knew clearly, what’s on the post-it note wasn’t something good, but he still decided to read it anyway. Carrying mixed feelings, he began the first row of words…

Jin, by the time you read this, I’ll be gone forever, from your life. Last night was a mistake, my mistake, and I hope that it would be the last time we would ever do it again. Forget about me Jin, I’m no longer the Yoongi two years ago, I changed and so did my love for you. I don’t love you anymore, so stop bugging me. Just move on with your life and find someone better than me. I don’t deserve your love, I’m not worth your time, because I can’t protect you from all these pain, so all I can do now is to let you go. Don’t ever find me again…because…I’m already engaged…

Tears began to fall from the corner of Jin’s eyes. He took the pair of rings from the table and held it tightly.

P.S I don’t need these rings anymore, it’s useless to me, so…you can have it, or just throw it anyway

Jin did not expect to experience such pain again for the first thing in the morning. Tears fell uncontrollably from his puffy eyes and all he could do was to hug his knees and let all the emotions out.

“Because…I’m already engaged…” these few words kept appearing in his mind, haunting him as he pondered what was he supposed to do next. Knowing that your boyfriend doesn’t love you anymore was already devastating enough, and now, he’s engaged? Things simply happened too quickly. How Jin wished it was just a nightmare and the next morning when he wakes up, Yoongi would be smiling beside him, welcoming him to a new day. But that wasn’t the case. The reality is, Jin is being dumped.

One week later…

*Ring ring* Jin’s phone rang, disturbing his beauty sleep. He took a peek at his clock to find that it was only 5 pm. After spending his entire Sunday packing and cleaning his house, Jin finally had the chance to take a short nap but somebody just had to disturb him ten minutes after his black out.

It was Namjoon, again, picking the wrong timing to do things.

“Yoboseyo?” Jin said in an annoyed tone.

“Hyung!! Where are you?”

“Home, wae?”

“Shouldn’t you be getting ready?”

“Ready for what? It’s a weekend for goodness sake and I’m having a sweet date with my bed.”

“That’s not important now hyung, have you forgotten about the company’s dinner?”

“What company’s dinner?”

“What the f(lower) hyung! I knew you forgot about it! Today is our company’s sixty anniversary celebration. All the employees are invited to the hotel remember?”

“Shut up Namjoon, you know I never attend company’s dinners for my entire six years working there.”

“But this year is different hyung! Do you bear watching your friend being socially awkward there because I have no one to talk to…? And…isn’t this a great opportunity for you…to tender your registration?” his voice getting softer after each word.

Indeed, ever since that day, Jin did not went to the company. He took five-day leave and had spent the entire time coming to the decision of resigning his job. It is only when he completely cut off relations with Yoongi would he be able to, at least, tune down the pain he’s feeling.

After persuading Jin for fifteen minutes, he finally agreed to go, especially after Namjoon threatened to spread his derp pictures to everyone in the company if he doesn’t attend. Reluctantly, Jin crawled out of his bed and went to get a quick shower. Ignoring the suggestions Namjoon gave, like wearing a tuxedo, Jin simply picked an ironed white shirt and pants, not forgetting to add a simple black tie to his outfit.

Of course, Namjoon nagged about not being formal enough as there would be lots of big bosses there but Jin just let the words fly past his ears. He’s just there to act as Namjoon’s friend, keep him entertained, knowingly clearly inside that Namjoon would ditch him and flirt with other female colleagues afterwards.

Walking into the venue, literally half of the ballroom was filled with people, males all in tailor-made suits, while females in long wavy dresses which makes them look exceptionally beautiful that day. Jin did not spot anyone familiar, except his boss, who was waving to them few metres away. Out of courtesy, Jin and Namjoon walked towards their boss, planning to greet him. Jin would pass his boss the white envelope and explained he couldn’t carry on with the job anymore.

Jin had all those conversations planned out in his mind. But something ominous happened, when he suddenly came to a sudden stop.

Namjoon knew it was something wrong, and looked into the direction of his hyung’s eyes. To his surprise, their boss, Mr Kim, was talking to…Yoongi.

Namjoon knew that wasn’t a good sign, tucking Jin’s sleeves to wake him up to his senses, before whispering, “we can retreat if you want to.”

Jin could not utter anything. It has been merely a week without Yoongi, he was still trying hard to lead a life without Yoongi. It was the fifth day he survived without thinking about Yoongi and this just ruined his record. Jin froze there, mouth hung opened, staring at Yoongi…and his female partner.

His boss insisted that they go over to him, signalling using his hand to hurry over. By then, Yoongi noticed something different too. He turned over and looked in the direction of Jin. He too, was shocked. He quickly slide his female partner’s hand away from his arm and took one step away from her.

Jin could not disobey that order and thus, went beside his boss.

“Seokjin ah,” his boss said, “let me introduce you again to our company’s future leader, he would be in-charge of our department.”

“Mr Min Yoongi and his fiancée, this is Kim Seokjin, one of my subordinate.”

“Fiancée?” Namjoon, who was in shock, murmured and inhaled a deep breath. “You know about it too hyung?” he whispered to Jin.

“It’s best you remain quiet now,” Jin tilted his head back and warned the younger one.

“I’ll leave you guys to the talking,” his boss smiled slightly before pulling Namjoon with him.

Unlike the noisy ballroom, the area they’re at was surrounded by an awkward atmosphere. Nobody continued the conversation after that introduction.

“So…” the female started talking, “you must be the famous Seokjin ssi. The existence of an exceptionally handsome looking clerk has been circulating in the company for quite some time, can’t expect to meet you in real life Seokjin ssi.”

“Ne” was the only word that came out from Jin’s mouth, as he was staring at Yoongi for the entire time.

“As your boss mentioned just now,” she continued, “I’m engaged to Yoongi oppa. You can call me Mrs Min, I need to get use of the name soon.”

As if hearing a forbidden word, Yoongi immediately interrupted, “just call her Soomin, her real name.”

Yoongi thought he could salvage the situation, but it was too late.

The two words “Mrs Min” strike Jin’s heart, which broke his intense stare on Yoongi, now focused on…Mrs Min. Finally getting the chance to observe her, she was wearing a dark blue cocktail dress, simple yet elegant. Despite being pushed away slightly by Yoongi just now, she returned back to her position of hooking her hands around Yoongi’s arm.

That move made Jin felt uncomfortable, although he did not say it out loud, his eyes said it all. It rolled a little after witnessing that close skinship between them. His eyes went back to Yoongi, who was still looking down, not willing to make eye contact.

“So Seokjin ssi, are you close to uri Yoongi oppa?”

“Ermmm we used to,” Jin stressed the last two words, Yoongi heard it.

“What do you mean?”

“We were quite close before he disappeared- I mean- before he went overseas.”

“Ahhh I see, but why do you guys act like strangers now?”

“Time passed as some things aren’t the same anymore.”

Emotions were rising inside Jin. In front of him was a blissful couple who’s engaged and he’s there being a jealous potato. The one he thought was his, is now someone’s husband. He wanted to ask why did they got engaged, but so what? I wouldn’t change the fact that those two are gonna spend the rest of their lives together and Jin is being the third wheel.

“I need to go now,” Jin said with an unsteady breath, “wish you two all the best.”

Upon saying that, he walked off in big steps, praying hard that his back view looks presentable, unlike his heart now, which is falling apart.
