•Chapter 9•

“I’ve seen worse.” Scott lets out.

We are now in a Motel where we will spend the night. First impressions? Could be better – I’ve had better.

“Where have you seen worse?” Stiles asks with a sigh.

“Listen up. The meet’s been pushed till tomorrow. This is the closest motel with the most vacancies and least amount of good judgment when it comes to accepting a bunch of degenerates like yourselves.” Coach says. Damn coach tell us how you really feel. “You’ll be pairing up.” Coach says and I put my hand up.

“It’s okay, Dayton. I’ll pair up with Isaac.” Scott says putting his hand on my shoulder.

“You sure?” I ask and he nods before walking towards Isaac.

“Keep your dirty little hands to your dirty damn selves!” Coach says. Was he looking at me?

We start walking up and Stiles gets a key. I follow him to our supposed room.

We get to the room, Stiles places the key in the tiny little space quickly unlocking the door allowing us to come inside.

I place my bag in one of the beds.

“This’ll do for a night. It’s not that bad right.” Stiles asks. I lay on my bed and out of nowhere a vision takes over my vision.

I can see all my friends, all talking with each other.

“Hey guys.” I say getting closer to them. Once I get closer, they back away and start whispering to each other. What is going on?

“Get away from me.” Scott says.

“Nobody wants your company. Nobody likes you.” I hear Stiles say before he starts laughing and that hits me like a train.

“Hey – Yo – Dayton?” I hear and I get off my vision. I let out a sigh of relief. It felt so real.

“Yeah – I’m okay.” I say.

Scott comes inside the room to talk to us about suspects. I don’t have much, it’s bad to falsely accuse someone.

“So, I have four suspects.” Stiles says sitting down on the feet of the bed.

“You have four suspects?” I ask.

“Yeah, it was originally ten. Well, nine technically, I guess. I had Derek on there twice.” He says making me slightly chuckle.

“So who’s number one? Harris?” Scott asks while crossing his hands.

“Just because he’s missing doesn’t mean he’s dead.” He says.

“He could be just one of the sacrifices.” I say.

“or he’s the killer behind all of this.” Stiles says.

“So if he’s not dead, our chemistry teacher is out secretly commiting human sacrifices.” Scott says. Damn, that sounds so bad.

“Yeah – I guess that sounded better in my head.” Stiles says.

“Well, what if it’s somebody else from school? Like, you remember Matt? We didn’t know he was killing people.” Scott says.

“Excuse me? I’m sorry, what?” Stiles says chuckling and standing up from his previous spot. “I – yes, we did. I called that from day one, actually.”

“Yeah, but we never really seriously though that it was Matt.” Scott says.

“I was serious. I was quite serious, actually. No one listened to me.” Stiles says. I smile remembering the letter he had sent me ranting about Matt.

“Anyways, Who were the other three?” I ask.

“Derek’s sister, Cora. No one knows anything about her, and she’s Derek’s sister. Next, your boss.” Stiles says while Scott’s eyes widen with the mention of his boss, Deaton.

“My boss?” Scott asks.

“Yeah, your boss. I don’t really like the whole ‘Obi-Wan’ thing he’s got going on, you know. It freaks me out.” Stiles says while Scott looks to be in lost.com. “Oh, my god, have you still not seen Star wars?” Stiles asks.

“I swear – if we make it out alive, I will watch that movie.” Scott says.

“Don’t get your hope too high on the movie.” I let out while Stiles sends daggers at me.

“What?” I ask trying to act as innocently as possible.

“Star wars is the best movie ever! Every movie that has Star wars at the start is an amazing movie.” He says.

“Sorry – nothing can top Harry Potter.” I say with a smirk.

“We are not arguing about this.” Stiles says. “It just makes me crazy.” He says.

“Who was the last one?” Scott asks.

“Lydia – She was totally controlled by Peter, and she had no idea, so.” Stiles says before falling down to his bed.

“You know what, I’m gonna get going. See you guys later.” Scott says.

“See you, Scotty Boy.” I say before he is out the door.

Stiles quickly stands up and walks towards the door.

“I’m gonna get some sweets, want any?” He asks.

“Nah –” I say starting to get a slight headache.

“Okie dokie.” Stiles says before his out the door.

I lay down and rest for a bit, that rest soon turns into a sleep.

Third Person View:

Dayton wakes up, in his bed sheets and yet no sign of Stiles being back. Dayton felt down, as down as someone can be. He felt like he was in his lowest point of depression, yet he never had depression.

While that happened, Allison, Lydia and Stiles were discussing theories about why all werewolves are acting odd.

Stiles feared for Dayton, he knows that he is a fairly new werewolf.

“Did you find Scott or Dayton acting weird at all?” Allison asks Stiles.

“Yeah – they were definitely a little off lately, especially tonight. Actually it was Boyd who was really off. I watched him put his fist through the vending machine.” Stiles says going back to what happened in the vending machine when he went to get some food.

All three were wondering what they can do to help the werewolves so they don’t do anything they could someday regret. Lydia just thought about the motel  as she always had a bad feeling about it the first time she stepped in it.

“See, it is the motel. Either we need to get out of here right now or – someone needs to learn how to do an exorcism asap, before the werewolves go crazy and kill us.” Lydia says creating fear in Allison and Stiles who were biting their nails thinking about possible ideas.

“Okay, just hold on, all right? What if it’s not just the motel? The number in the office went up by four. Right?” Stiles asks both girls.

“You mean like four sacrifices?” Allison asks and Stiles nods.

“What if this time it’s four werewolves?” Stiles asks.

“Scott, Isaac, Dayton and Boyd.” Allison says looking down.

“Maybe we were meant to come here.” Stiles says while all he could think about is his best friends Scott and Dayton, especially Dayton.

“Exactly, can we please get the hell out of here now? Please?” Lydia asks in a verge of a panic attack.

“Wait hang on. Let me see this.” Stiles says getting a paper that was in the current room they were on.

“What’s that?” The brunette asks.

“’28year-old man hangs himself at the infamous Glen Capri.'” Stiles reads off the newspaper.

While they kept going on with theories, all werewolves were getting closer to their deaths, or sacrifices.

*

All three, just saved Ethan from his death which was not in the list of sacrifices for the three of them so it came as a surprise to all three of them.

“What now?” Lydia asks.

“I’ll find Scott, you guys find Isaac, Boyd and Dayton.” Allison says before running off.

Dayton P.O.V

I get up from my bed, and make my way to the bathroom right next to my bed. It didn’t feel like me. It felt like something or someone was controlling me. Yet that wasn’t the worst.

The feeling of helplessness and the sad feeling I was having right now totally destroyed me. I walked towards the mirror, looking at myself.

Thinking about being ugly, and thinking back to the vision I had.

Nobody actually likes you, Dead weight.

“Stop it.” I mumble.

My eyes turn yellow as I quickly turn into a werewolf and smash my fist into the mirror as tiny bits of glasses fell.

I look at all the tiny bits of glass before picking one up.

With just one slash, everything could end. All the sadness could go away and nobody would miss me.

Why am I still here? I’m so useless.

I place the tiny bit of glass, the fact that this tiny bit of glass is just as powerful as anything else at the moment. I place the tiny bit of glass against my neck and close my eyes, trying to get the courage to finally do it and end all the pain and madness going on inside me.

I hear someone burst through the door.

“Dayton?” I hear the familiar voice, the same one from my vision.

“Dayton – oh god. Dayton – what are you doing?” Stiles asks stopping dead on his tracks.

“I could end everything right now – all the sadness – all the pain.” I say still with the glass against my neck.

“Dayton – please – think about this.” Stiles says, I could feel the shake in his voice.

“There’s nothing to think about, Stiles. I’m useless, I’m dead weight for everybody.” I say as my eyes start watering.

“Don’t – Don’t say that, Dayton.” I hear Stiles say, but it came in as an echo to my ears. ” You are someone, you are as important as everyone. You are important to me.” Stiles says, I look at his reflection to see him with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Does he mean it?

“Gosh – you have no idea, how much you mean to me.” He says looking down while I still had the glass against my long neck.

“Why shouldn’t I do it?” I ask more myself then anyone else. “I would finally be with my mother in peace.” I say.

“But what about the people – the people that love you? Like me, Dayton? What would happen to me? I could never leave with myself if anything happened to you and I didn’t do anything to stop it.” Stiles says.

“Don’t you understand Stiles? I was born to suffer.” I say as tears slowly fall down my cheeks.

“What – what are you talking about. You are the strongest person I have met. You give me so much strength – you help me – so – let me help you.” He says while taking a step closer to me.

“No one can help me.” I say.

He runs the last steps towards me and grabs a hold of my hand. I get angry as an impulse and my eyes turn yellow as my claws grow from my nails.

“Let go!” I say loudly.

“I’m never going to let go.” Stiles says before both of us struggle towards the glass, he wins and the glass falls to the sink.

I turn back into a human as my claws turn back into nails.

“No.” I cry out, I fall down to the floor while still hugging Stiles.

“It’s okay. You’re okay.” He whispers.

*

We all fell asleep in the bus, as none of us wanted anything to do with that motel ever again. I am glad that Stiles was able to stop me before I did anything that I would regret. Something was effecting me. I just don’t know what.

Right now everyone is back on the bus and Coach was pretty mad for seeing us sleeping in the bus.

“I’m not really sure what happened last night, but I’m pretty sure you saved my life.” Ethan says while sitting down next to Scott.

“Actually, I saved your life, but not that it matters that much. It’s just – it’s a minor detail.” He says making me chuckle.

“Thank you for saving me, Stiles.” I say from behind. While I can feel the smile on his face as he turns back around facing the front of the bus.

“Coach, can I see your whistle for a second?” Lydia asks while grabbing the coaches’ whistle.

She blows the whistle against the palm of her hand.

She looks at her hand and shows it to us for us to see something white in it.

“Wolfsbane.” Scott says.

“So every timethe coach blew the whistle on the bus, Dayton, Scott, Isaac, Boyd-” Stiles says.

“And Ethan-” Lydia says.

“We all inhaled it.” I say.

“That’s how the Darach got into their heads. That’s how he did it.” Stiles says before grabbing the Whistle and throwing it out the window. He really doesn’t mind being hated by Coach.

I smile before resting my head in the window next to me.

At the end all was good. Thanks to Stiles.
