“Box? Bottle? Tin?” Kevin shook his head violently, emphasising his wrist motions on what he was trying to act out. Seb was yelling words as well but with similar success. I tilted my head, squinting my eyes slightly; thinking it will give me a clearer idea. “Can?” I asked, confused. He clapped his hands together excitedly before giving us two thumbs up.
Then he started pointing at me. “Me?” I asked confused. He shook his head before emphasising his point.
“Oh I got it” Seb exclaimed, “Him!” he called out. Kevin looked at him before face palming.
“You?” I tried. He gave me the thumbs up again. ‘Can you?’ I thought to myself, leaning forward in my seat.
Then he started looking around with his hand on his forehead like he was trying to keep the sun out of his eyes. “Look? Sun? View? See?” he clapped his hands together, nodding excitedly. “Can you see..?” I mumbled to myself. What could tha- “Can you see me!” I exclaimed, standing up as I did.
Kev released a triumphant “Yes” before running over and picking me and spinning me around. He put me back down before glaring at Seb, “Him? Seriously?!”
“What?” Seb said defensively, “You were pointing at him”. The worst part was I think he was dead serious.
“18 Seconds” Chase called after we quietened down. We were playing charades. Kev, Seb and I were on a team Versus Imogen, Teegan and Skye. Girl’s vs. boys. Chase volunteered to be time keeper for this round. “That’s gonna be hard to beat” he chuckled, looking at the girls. The theme was movies. There are 3 rounds and this was the last. Each round 1 person from each team have to act out a movie title that the other team tells them to; whoever has the shortest time in the round wins. We won the first and the girls won the second. It all comes down to this; lucky we saved the hardest for last. This game is as good as ours.
“Don’t worry, we got this” Imogen encouraged, standing up and walking up so that she was in front of everyone. It was getting late and we were sitting around the fire. I stood up as well before walking over to where Imogen stood, handing her a small slip of paper with a wink.
Her eyes widened as she opened the paper and read the movie title. “How the hell am I supposed to do this?”
“You said it has to be well-known” I laughed, “Not easy.” I grinned as she glared at me, before turning around and walking back to my seat. “Good luck” I added sarcastically. This is going to be fantastic.
…
Imogen screamed as she ran, wrapping her arms around Teegan and Skye as they celebrated.
“What the hell just happened?” I muttered to Kev and Seb. I swear they must have cheated.
“I have no idea” Kev replied, closely followed by a “Me neither” from Seb.
“12 Seconds” Chase chuckled, obviously amazed.
“How did-” I started but Imogen cut me off.
“How many movies do you know that start with cloudy?” She deadpanned, “Sure the first word was a bit tricky but you guess that and the rest is pretty simple”.
“I didn’t think of that” Kevin mumbled, looking down at the ground. If you haven’t figure it out yet, the movie we chose was ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It was Kevin’s idea but we all agreed, thinking it was perfect. Turns out it wasn’t as good as we thought…
“What’s that now?” Imogen mused sarcastically, “Girls-2, Boys-0?” She winked at me before continuing. “I can’t believe you thought you were going to win.”
“This is unbelievable” I sighed into my hands; first the fire and now this.
“Up for another round?” she asked, “I’m sure you have it in you to lose again” I looked up at her with a vengeance.
“You bet ya” I smirked. There’s no way I’m going to lose again.
…
We lost again. They rubbed it in our face for a while but it has all but worn off now. Thank god. I really don’t know how much more my pride can take. Sure it’s one thing to be shown up by girls time after time; but by Imogen? That was so much worse.
I’m glad charades was over now. We were just sitting around the fire; music softly playing from the speakers on the car. We all had drinks in our hands as we sat around talking. I’m not sure if it was because of my wounded pride or that Imogen was sitting next to me again but I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t drinking too quickly. I was already on my fifth… or was it my sixth? Even Kevin has had less than me and that’s saying something.
My eyes drifted, momentarily staring at the fire. Watching as its flames flicked and twisted in the night’s breeze, colours intertwining into one against the darkness surrounding it before my gaze settled on Chase. He sat in the same place as the night before; on the ground with his back pressed against the log behind him. Though my vision was a little fuzzy, I could still see the smile on his face as he listened to Teegan’s animated story telling. I chuckled lightly after noticing that he was still on his first drink; god he’s adorable. I frowned at my thoughts for a second before shrugging it off; must be the alcohol.
My focused my gaze back to Teegan, listening to her like everyone else was. “…and then out of nowhere this bitch snatches the dress out of my hand, telling me that she “saw it first”,” she paused, taking a breath and composing before continuing. “I was ready to stab a bitch” she stated calmly. I zoned out, lifting my bottle to my lips to find it was empty. When did that happen? I chuckled to myself; I better not be making a habit out of this.
“I’ll be back” I whispered in Imogen’s ear. She nodded, glancing at me with a grin before focusing back on Teegan; obviously entertained by the drama. I stood up, walking around my seat and walking over to the cooler. Although my feet were unsteady, I walked faster so I could get back to my rightful seat next to Imogen quicker. I reached in, pulling out a bottle before glancing back at the others; a thought coming to mind. I grinned as I grabbed an extra bottle out.
I closed the cooler door and made my way back to the fire, a slight stumble in my step. I walked past my seat next to Imogen and around the fire before stopping in front of Chase; crouching down and holding out the extra beer.
He turned to face me, a confused expression on his face. “What’s that for?” He asked, taking the bottle from my hand.
“For when you finally finish your first” I teased, a smirk playing at my lips. I couldn’t help but notice his lips as they curved into a shy smile.
“Thanks” he laughed, putting the bottle down next to him.
“Don’t mention it” I laughed, “Someone’s gotta look out for you if you’re not going to do it yourself”.
“Some of us like to be in control of our actions” He chuckled; eyes dropping to the ground in front of him.
I stood back up, faking a yawn. “Sounds boring” I chuckled.
“Maybe” he shrugged, tilting his head to look back up at me “but I find it’s easier to keep track of my regrets”. A light chuckle left his lips.
I grinned as I glanced behind me at Imogen before turning back to Chase. “Life’s all about regrets” I winked before turning and walking back to my seat by Imogen; my hand finding its way onto her thigh. I grinned as her hand covered mine.
…
“Sebastian”, Skye started, “Truth or dare?”
Seb thought about it for a second. “Truth?” he stated more as a question than an answer.
“Have you ever…” She paused, thinking for a second, “cried during an orgasm?” she smirked.
We all cracked up laughing as he face instantly went a bright shade of red. “It was a very emotional time!” he defended with a slight slur. It’s been a short while since Teegan finished her story and as we drank more; the idea of playing truth or dare happened. I’m not sure whose idea it was anymore but it’s been fun either way. “It was right after Gaige-“
“Whoa whoa” Kevin cut Seb off, “The questions been answered! No need for details”. I’m glad Kevin stopped him. I had no idea where that was going and quite frankly… I didn’t want one.
“Whatever” Seb muttered, “Not like you’s know what love is anyway”. I nodded in agreement, a chuckle leaving my lips. I’m happy for him but I know it’s not real, just something you think you feel when you’re young and naïve; an idea you create inside your head because of all the times you’re told that it exists when you’re younger. But even love doesn’t stop someone from leaving you; I knew that now and I’ll be damned if I let it happen again. “Kevin” Seb continued, “Truth or dare?”
Kev grinned. “Let’s make this interesting” he chuckled, “dare”
Seb grinned as well, causing Kev’s smile to fault slightly. “I was hoping you’d say that” he admitted with a chuckle. He leaned down and pulled off his shoe, “Smell that for 30 seconds”. Kev’s smile dropped all together, a look of panic taking over his features.
“No!” He stated, “Anything else! I know how bad they get!” He was shaking his head, letting his fate sink in. Everyone started laughing except me… being his friend for a few years I knew how bad they get. It’s nasty.
“A dares a dare” Seb chuckled, “You know what happens if you don’t” he continued, holding out his shoe. Kevin stared at it, contemplating whether or not it was worth it before reluctantly reaching out, grabbing the toxic item like it was contaminated.
“How long have you had this on?” Kev stammered weakly, he looked up; eyes meeting mine as I shook my head slowly.
“All day” Seb grinned before adding, “Make sure to get your nose riggght in there. Wouldn’t want to miss out on the good stuff”. He was enjoying this way too much.
I covered my mouth with my hand as I watched him raise the shoe to his face. There’s no way this can end well.
…
I couldn’t help but chuckle as Kevin made his way back from the darkness, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. I know I shouldn’t have but it was hilarious; though I’m glad it wasn’t me. He almost did it; a few more seconds and he would have beaten Seb’s dare. But between the alcohol and the toxic smell no one should have to endure; he threw up. He threw the shoe away and turned and ran to the bush; we all heard why and it didn’t sound pretty.
He pointed as Seb with a glare, “I don’t care what you say or do, I beat that dare”
Seb raised his hands in mock surrender, “You did better than I thought you would” he chuckled, “Dare complete”
“Thank god” He sighed in relief, sitting back down in his seat. “Imogen”, he continued “Truth or dare”. I don’t know why but I half-expected Kev to stop playing but I should have known better; He never quits. “Or should I say truth or truth” he continued sarcastically, obvious taunting her. He must already have a dare in mind.
She thought about it for a second before smirking at him, “Dare”. This could be interesting.
He glanced over at me before winking. Wait… what? “I dare you to give Trae” he paused, looking back to Imogen. “A lap dance”. My eyes widened before silently thanking Kev and everything thing he is. This is going to be fantastic.
“Oh… is that all” she chucked, her body visibly relaxing. “I thought it was going to be something disgusting… like kissing you or something”. I laughed as his grinned dropped. “But that’s enough of that” She continued, smirking as she stood up, “Trae here needs to be taught a lesson”.
She slowly walked around me, he finger dragging along me as she did; touching my arm, my chest, my other arm before dragging along my back. I held my breath as I felt her breath against my ear, “Someone’s been a bad boy”. It didn’t sound like her. Her voice was slow yet confident; seductive.
I watched as her leg as it wrapped itself over mine; straddling me where I sat. I lifted my hand to hold her or at least touch her but she smacked my hand away. “Uh uh uh” she waved her finger at me as if telling me off, “no touching” she continued in her voice before running her hands down my chest, slowly; teasing. I grinned as she started gyrating her hips; rubbing her arse against my lower region. I looked down, watching her hips move as I frowned internally. Don’t get me wrong… It felt good but I thought it would have aroused me more than that?
She leaned forward, her mouth stopping just in front of mine. I could feel her breath against my lips. She smirked before continuing on her way, past my mouth and next to my ear. “I hope you’re ready for your dare” With that she stopped her hips and stood up before going back to her seat. I heard people clapping and cheering as she did, an innocent grin on her face. What was she going to make me do?
I looked around the group, eyes settling on Chase; he was the only one not cheering. His eyes were down, picking at the label from his second beer. I frowned, why did he look so sad?
“Trae” Imogen spoke up. I looked at her to see a vengeful smirk on her face. She must think that dare was planned or something… “Dare… or dare”. As the words left her mouth everyone went quiet; I swear you would’ve been able to hear a pin drop if it weren’t for the crackling of the fire.
I swallowed. There was no way out of this… “Dare” I said as confidently as I could; how bad could it be anyway?
She looked over at Chase and winked. I looked over at him as well, noticing a confused frown on his face. “I dare you…” I looked back at her to see she was staring at me once again, “to kiss Chase”.
The second the words left her mouth my throat went dry and I didn’t know why. I also couldn’t help but notice my heart as it’s pace increased; thumping against my chest in an unsteady rhythm. I pulled at my shirt as it suddenly felt too tight as it clung to my skin.
I looked over at Chase; his eyes were on me as he nervously licked his lips. Even in my current state I couldn’t help but notice the way that his tongue dragged across his upper lip. I looked back to Imogen, her words only truly sinking in.
“What?” I managed. Why the hell was I so nervous?
“You heard me” she smirked, “Kiss Chase” she shrugged, “Maybe throw in a little tongue?” I took a breath, trying to compose myself. It’s only Chase, you can do this.
“Okay” I nodded as confidently as I could before standing up; adjusting my shirt as I started feeling self-conscious. That’s never happened before. ‘It’s just a dare’ I repeated in my head but it didn’t help.
“Just pretend it’s a chick” Kev chuckled as I walked past him. I grinned at him with a nod; it was probably the most forced thing I have ever done.
I crouched down in front of Chase, my knees falling between his feet as he sat with his legs outstretched and bent at the knee; forming a little wall in front of him. I awkwardly leaned forward, placing my right hand on the log behind him. His eyes were down, refusing to meet mine. I don’t know why, but I hated it.
“Chase…” His name escaped my lips softer than a whisper. I don’t even know why I said it… I just wanted his attention… make him to look at me; and he did. His gaze lifted, slowly meeting mine as he licked his lips once again. His eyes were hard to see in the darkness but the occasional flickers of light from the flames behind me illuminated his face enough for me to capture tiny glimpses of blue.
I slowly leaned forward, my left hand finding its way onto his left knee for support. I stopped a few inches from his face, his eyes were still open; so were mine. I could feel the heat of his breath as it caressed my face; carrying a hint of beer in its aroma.
“I’m sorry” I’m not even sure what my words meant or why I said them; they just slipped out before I could stop them.
He nodded his head slowly, his eyes never leaving mine. “A dare’s a dare right?” his voice came out strained, sad almost. I didn’t know how to respond; so I didn’t.
I closed my eyes as I leaned forward once more, closing the distance between us. My lips touched his, soft and tentatively. I felt his hands on my chest as he applied a little pressure, seemingly trying to push me back but it was too weak to make a difference. His mouth was warm against mine; his lips soft and inviting.
I pushed his knees open slightly, moving myself closer as I brushed my tongue along his bottom lip. The pressure on my chest got harder as he tried to push me off him once again. As much as I wanted to comply; my body wouldn’t let me. His taste was intoxicating, like alcohol but so much sweeter. I expected to feel him try to push me away again but it didn’t happen. Instead his hand closed against my chest; his fingers twisting themselves into the fabric of my shirt as he pulled me closer towards him.
I knew people could see us and I knew I should have stopped there but I couldn’t; I wanted more. My hand slid over his knee and down his thigh as he opened them for me; breaking his wall and inviting me in. My blood felt like lava in my veins as I dug my fingernails into his leg; the distance between us suddenly feeling too far.
I felt his mouth open against mine and my tongue slipped in, tentatively at first but quickly becoming more heated. His grip on my shirt tightened, trying to pull me harder against him; a soft whimper leaving his lips.
I pulled myself away from him at the sound; so soft I could barely hear it but I know I did. The effect the simple sound had on my body told me it was real.
“I’m sorry” the words left my mouth again as I backed up, his fingers releasing their grip on me. My eyes dropped, unable to look him in the eyes; fearing what I might see. “I’m sorry” I repeated again as if it would change anything; but I knew it wouldn’t. I stood up before turning and walking back to my seat.
I heard a few claps and cheers but I didn’t care; I didn’t even pay Imogen any attention as I passed by her. I sat down, staring at Chase over the flames of the fire. His eyes were cast down at the ground and it was all my fault. He let me in and I just had my way and left. He said he doesn’t like to drink because he likes being in control of his actions… the way he touched me; kissed me… Was it all real?
The night continued on regardless. The games continued and so did the drinking. I didn’t touch another drink for the rest of the night. I was trapped with my thoughts as question after question made its way into my head. What the hell just happened? Why was I so aroused? Why was the only thing I wanted to do was go back over there and kiss him again?
-End of Chapter 5-
A/N- So this chapter took awhile to write.. not so much the end but the start because i was worried it was going to be too short. Turned out being the longest chapter by about 1000 words haha
Let me know what you think.. my biggest concern was that i made it happen too soon but i’m open to constructive criticism
