-Trae-

I sat at my desk, music playing in the background, scrolling through the endless stream of recent Facebook updates, occasionally chuckling at the sight of several posts about teenage angst and desperate photos of girls fishing for attention. I don’t even know all of them but why wouldn’t I add them? They were hot.

High school is over. After years of religiously waking up before the sun and studying my arse off what do I do? Nothing. It’s only been just more than a week since I graduated but I’ve taken to relishing in my freedom… A bit too much as far as my parents are concerned. Don’t get me wrong, Over the last week I’ve been to a few celebratory parties and hit the gym a couple of times, but I think my parents expected something more from me after paying for me to go to the most expensive school in the area. Get good grades, go straight to UNI, become a doctor or lawyer or something boring like that… but that’s just not me.

My Parents are great, they really are… just sometimes I feel they expect a little too much from me. They love me and I love them too, but they are hardly ever around. But how could I complain right? Nice house, nice room and a house all to myself. Sounds good in theory… but it got lonely after a while.

They’re both doctors, that’s how they met. Love at first sight apparently… then I was born. They love their job and it’s selfish to say, but sometimes I feel they love it more than me… but what can you do? They’re constantly bugging me to follow in their footsteps, do the family proud or something like that. Whenever we ever spoke about my future it was always brought up. But I’m just not cut out for that; I know it and I’m certain that deep down they do too… it’s just harder for them to accept.

That’s enough talk about the future and parental expectations; let’s talk about who I currently am. I’ve read about schools in places like America where you have your jocks, cheerleaders, nerds, preps, Goth’s, emos etc. etc., but it’s not really like that here in Australia. Sure we have the stereotypes, the more popular groups and the not-so-popular groups; but for the most part everyone just has their groups that get along… most of the time might I add. Besides, what’s high school without a little drama?

My group was considered to be one of the more popular groups, or dare I say, the most popular group. We were role models to the younger guys and gods to the women. Oh god the women. It may have been a more prestigious school, but even the classiest of girls get horny. And let me tell you this; being popular definitely had its perks in dealing with that department.

There’s only 3 of us in our little group but I’m fine with that; I trust them with my life and I hope they think the same of me. Firstly we have Kevin. I’ve known him practically my entire life and he’s been like my brother and partner in crime for the same amount of time. Our parents were friends long before we were born and I have been forever thankful for that… I’d never admit it to him but I can’t imagine my life with Kevin in it. Blessed with naturally tanned skin, broad chest, muscular body, strong jaw-line and a smile to melt hearts, he makes the perfect wing-man. Did I mention that he’s part Cuban? Doesn’t sound like it with a name like Kevin but he was born and raised Down Under like the rest of us. The only time you could really notice his descent was when he spoke. It isn’t too profound but boy did it work the women.

Then there’s Sebastian, or Seb for short. I’ve known him for a few years; nothing compared to Kevin but I’m proud to call him a mate. He moved here with his family back in Year 8, knew no one, but we took him under our wing and as far as I’m concerned he turned out pretty damn well. He’s what one would consider pansexual. We’ve only known for a just over a year but we have no problem with it and love him like a brother none-the-less. He comes to parties with us, but not for the same reasons as us. Sure we all want to drink, get a little twisted… but Kev and I hardly ever miss out on a good lay as well… Maybe even a few if we’re lucky. Don’t get me wrong, he may not be as muscular as us, but with his tight, toned body and a stubbled jaw-line that never fails to look perfect he gets enough attention from both sexes. He’s a shameless flirt as well, can hardly control himself it seems. He usually always has someone just dying to get into his tight black jeans but he never goes there. I don’t know how he does it but I can’t help but respect him for it. He has a boyfriend, and although Seb may still be young, I can tell that he loves him and he proves it every time he doesn’t sleep with any of the various unbelievably hot girls and admittedly, guys that he could easily get away with. His boyfriend’s name is Gaige. He’s a few years older than Seb, 7 to be exact, but I’ve met him and he really is a great guy, almost finished his degree studying to be an architect. He understands that Seb is still young and trusts him enough to let him go to parties and live his life. Even when he gets absolutely hammered he always manages to get back home to his man. Seb still lives with his parents but they are really cool. They let him go stay with Gaige whenever he wants, as long as he’s safe they don’t really mind.

Then there’s me; the tall, tanned and handsome Trae Williams. I’ve always been told that my parents blessed me with naturally good looks and I can’t help but agree. And yes I’ve also been told I’m quite up myself. With regular trips to the gym and years of hard work I’ve moulded myself into becoming irresistible to the opposite sex, and the same sex as well but they just don’t do it for me. Nothing against gay people but how could you want a guy when you can have a girl? That soft delicate skin that always smells so good. Breasts that you can’t help but squeeze and a tight little- I think we’re getting a little off track here…

I was bought out of my thoughts when I scrolled past a recent photo of a blonde goddess. I quickly scrolled back up and clicked open the image. Imogen Taylor. The sexiest girl I have ever seen. Long blonde hair, pale skin, large breasts and an arse to die for. Thin but curved in all the right places. I love a good rack but it’s always the arse that does it for me, round and firm, tight yet soft. The way they bounce when they walk… god I could talk about them all day. Imogen Taylor was a hands down 10 and be damned if she didn’t know it. Just like most of her photo’s it was a close-up of her face, no duck face or anything like that… just a simple breath-taking smile. Though never failing to capture a glimpse of her endowed cleavage… not that I’m complaining; not in the slightest. Even with the black and white filter you could still see the glint in her eyes, god was she a stunner.

I’ve never gotten with her before and as far as I know, neither has anyone else in our school, but I’m going to be the first. Even if school is over I’ll find a way, Trae Williams always does. She definitely not the type of girl I would date, not that I think I would ever date again after the girl that broke my heart 2 years ago. I was young and naïve, but not anymore. I’ve heard Imogen’s the type of girl to play games; preheat the oven but never baking the cookies if you know what I mean. She can reel people in so easy but can throw them back into the ocean just as quick. But why does it matter? I’m going to have her… no one can resist me. Out of habit, I clicked open her profile to look through photos I’ve seen dozens of times.

I was bought out of my little perve session when my music suddenly changed from soft and relaxing to a form of heavy metal. I jumped in my seat before clutching at my chest, breathing heavily as I turned around to see none other than Kevin Calisto standing over me, cocky grin and all sporting his features.

“How the fuck did you get in here?!” I all but yelled, “You almost gave me a bloody heart attack” I leaned forward and turned the music off. Mumbling profanities under my breath as I did so.

“Please. I’ve known you my entire life… I know where the spare key is” he smirked matter-of-factly, “Sorry to interrupt your little perve sesh.” Sarcastic overtones layered his voice.

“Yeah well maybe you should try knocking” I mumbled under my breath, turning around to close my browser before turning back around.

“I did” he laughed, “but I can hardly blame you, Imogen Taylor, total 10” he grinned.

“Get in line Romeo” I chuckled, “If she’s getting with anyone it’s going to be me’ I stated, pointing my thumb to my chest.

“Is that right?” he laughed, “Good luck, you’re going to need it.”

“I’m Trae Williams” I said matter-of-factly, “when it comes to girls I don’t need luck.”

“It’s Imogen Taylor” He repeated, “Trust me, you’re going to need it.”

I knew he was somewhat right so I let it go. “I know you didn’t walk all the way down the street to talk about girls” I deadpanned, “You turned off my beautiful music and almost gave me a heart attack… what’s the deal?”

“Firstly” he laughed, “You really have to stop listening to that stupid drug-music and-“

“Alt-J is amazing!” I stated defensively, cutting him off.

“Whatever you think sweetie” he rolled his eyes. “And secondly – we’re going camping” he grinned.

I couldn’t help but grin in return, completely forgetting about his crude statement, most of my best memories came from when Kev and his family let me go with them on their camping trips. I haven’t been for a couple years but god do I miss it; I’ve always just been too busy with school and the social life that comes with being me. “When?” I asked excitedly.

“Day after tomorrow” he said, still grinning. “I’ve already asked Seb and he’s in. I asked him about Gaige but he said something about exams and studying so he can’t make it. You’ll never guess who else is coming” He grinned.

“Don’t tell me…” I mumbled excitedly.

“I spoke to Skye and she’s coming with none other than Teegan and Imogen”

I clapped my hands together out of excitement, spinning around in my chair. “This is going to be perfect!” I exclaimed. “Camping. And Imogen Taylor’s going to be there… can this day get any better?!” I asked rhetorically.

“I wouldn’t forget Teegan” he added, “black beauty if I’ve ever seen one” he sighed.

“She’s hardly even black” I pointed out.

“Not the Point” he defended, “She’s dark skinned and boy does she look good doing it!” I couldn’t help but nod to what he was saying, Teegan really is a beauty.

“So it’s settled” I chuckled, “You get Teegan and I get Imogen. Excellent”

“You bet ya bud” he grinned, “I have to go, promised mum I’d be back to help her with dinner.”

“Aww such a mummy’s boy” I cooed with a chuckle.

“Whatever man” He said punching my arm, “I’ll be back later”

“Yeah sure thing man” I said before doing our signature fist bump; it’s weird but it’s just something we do.

“Catch ya” he said as he walked backwards out the door.

I was about to turn back around to my computer when a question popped into my mind. “How long are we going for?”

“A whole week” he exclaimed, throwing his fists triumphantly into the air, missing the fan by centimetres.

“Have I ever told you I love you?”

“Save it for the wedding night babe” he called as he exited my room. I turned back to my music and started playing my ‘stupid drug-music’ once again, not my fault Kev doesn’t appreciate good music. Just as I did though, Kev’s head popped back around the corner.

“One more thi- Seriously?” he deadpanned, obviously referring to my music.

“Say what you must and get out before I kick you out” I replied coldly, though I wasn’t serious. I just don’t understand why no one I know likes them, I know they are strange. Strangest band I have ever heard but they are seriously amazing!

He chuckled quietly before continuing, “I almost forgot, Teegan’s bringing a friend. Never met him before but he’s apparently pretty cool… Irish I believe” he mumbled as if he was having trouble remembering the facts. “Anyway, I’m off” he all but shouted as he left my line of sight once more. I leaned back in my chair when I heard the front door open and close.

“A friend huh?” I mumbled to myself. A guy at that… And he’s Irish so that should be interesting. As long as he doesn’t ruin my chances with Imogen I’m sure we’ll get along just fine.

– End of Chapter 1-

Thank you so much for reading! For the most part this in unedited so I’m sorry about any mistakes and such..

Let me know how it was? 😀

The picture is Devin Paisley.. sorta what i had in mind for Trae. God he’s gorgeous.

If you are curious as to what Trae was listening to I attached it to the chapter, it’s ‘Bloodflood’, By ‘Alt-J’. Trae said they were a weird band and he was dead serious but their music is beautiful and poetic in just how much meaning they cramp into a song.
