Two updates in one day writing while I’m coming home from a parade so excuse the errors.
“Son I need to tell you something.”
“What is it father?”
“I’m happy that you decided to call off the forced marriage.”
“Why is that? I thought you wanted me to get married for the sake of the kingdom.”
“Yes son I did. That was my full intent,but then I thought about it and let it stew for a moment.”
The prince looked at his father for a moment wondering what was going to come out of his father’s mouth.
“I then ended up with several ways that this very event might come out. I knew that it would come out this way. My mind could conclude that as I saw your interest in relationships with the girls declined and you started becoming more of outspoken prince.”
“Well don’t you think we should have a voice. As royalty we should at least have some say so in things. That’s what I’m. We shouldn’t rule with an iron fist but think that some things like this forced marriage thing. Anyways how did this even come about?”
The king looked at his son for a moment as if he didn’t have anything to say.
“Father answer me.”
“Son like I told you this is something that keeps the kingdoms in peace. That is the only reason why this ever came about. We don’t need a war breaking out between kingdoms that are so close together.”
“If you say so father.”
He looked at his father then looked into the crowd.
“Son.” The king muttered and put his hand on the the prince’s shoulder.
“What is it?” The prince replied without turning his head.
“You need to understand that we need to keep peace between the kingdoms.”
“Father I understand that. It’s just that I don’t like that they rule us completely and we don’t have any power over them because of fear of a revolt.”
“Son we are having the same conversation we had in the hallway.”
The prince turned and looked at his father but didn’t say a word. His father was right he just keep bringing the same thing up.
“I just want a little power that’s all.”
“Well with power comes great responsibility and one of those responsibilities are keeping the people happy and peaceful.”
“You say that like I don’t know that. I can’t wait until I become king I’ll make changes to the way things go and it won’t be such fear of a revolt.” The prince said then sighed.
“Well it’s not going to come soon if you don’t get married.”
Jeremy looked at his father with an anger that he had never displayed before.
“I am going to go see about your mother.” King James said then left the table.
He would say that. Jeremy thought as he watched his father walk away.
Jeremy got up and walked through the crowd and bumped into someone. It was princess Aliyah again. She looked worst than earlier.
“What’s wrong?” The prince asked.
“Nothing nothing.” She replied and walked away.
“Well then.”
The prince made his way though the crowd and out of the room. He then walked down the corridor and reminisced about that one time he really got what he wanted. Would that ever happen again?
That was too much to think about right now the only thing Jeremy wanted to do was take a bath and sleep the rest of this unfortunate night away.
What a boring chapter sorry you guys. The next chapter will be better I promise. I’m so sorry this ride home really made me tired.
