Heejin’s neck stretched once she entered the classroom, that day they had the mock test for the college exam, and she hadn’t slept very well.
Heejin needed that scholarship more than anything, even though she knew it wasn’t worth getting sick from studying so hard, but she still did her best to be able to get a higher GPA than everyone else.
Her hand landed on her mouth as it opened to yawn, the brunette walked to the seat she had been assigned the day before, what they did to avoid cheat, hitting Sooho on the head as she stepped past him, she heard a growl of annoyance leave his throat, Heejin’s eyes met Sieun’s, who immediately looked away when she smiled at him as greeting.
Raising her eyebrows, the younger one laughed softly, sitting down in her seat before resting her head on the table, just like Sooho, feeling how tiredness began to take hold of her, if it weren’t for the test, she probably would have invented some illness and stayed at home, sleeping.
A few minutes later, the teacher made an appearance, carrying a handful of pages with her, Heejin let out a groan as she saw the number of question sheets she had to read, however, she mentally prepared herself to start answering the questions she had been studying all that week.
Her eyes moved for a second, distracted by hearing a thump next to her, as if someone had slapped someone else, however, Heejin decided not to look around, as she had found a question that she knew perfectly, leaving the sound in oblivion.
Her hands took on a life of their own, answering the questions almost automatically, however, her attention was interrupted by the dragging of a chair, moving her eyes in that direction, Heejin could see how Sieun got up from his seat, and walked as if he was dizzy, moving towards the exit of the room, almost hitting his face against the door before leaving the place somewhat quickly.
The teacher, worried about what happened with her best student, looked for the only girl who she knew would be able to go with him and ask what was wrong.
Heejin frowned as she looked at the seat next to her, where Sieun was a few minutes ago. — Heejin.
—Yes? — She asked at the teacher’s sudden call.
— Go, make sure Sieun is okay. — The girl looked at the woman, opening her mouth, the malicious “uh” of her classmates made the girl squint, Sooho, still with his head on the table, laughed, eyes closed as he imagined the face that his friend could have at that moment. Heejin shifted her eyes from the woman at the front of the room to her exam. — Don’t worry, I’ll give you and Sieun more time, go see if it’s okay.
The girl got up from her seat almost unsurely, walked towards the exit of the place, passing by Sooho, pulling his ear gently. — Yah! Teacher, Heejin almost ripped my ear off!
The girl laughed, running to get out of the room, the woman shook her head when she saw how Sooho turned around, threatening his friend while raising his hand, she had known the two of them since they were children and they had always been unruly, together or separately, they were always yelling for something, yelling at each other as a joke, But she knew very well that they were doing that because they were so fond of each other.
Sighing, the woman went over to pick up the teenagers’ exams once Heejin had completely left the room, to make sure no onlookers could cheat.
Heejin was walking down the hall, thinking about where the boy might be.
Infirmary? No, Heejin, even you don’t go to the infirmary.
Looking to her sides, the girl narrowed her eyes, thinking before stopping in front of a door to the one place where the boy could have gone to seek privacy, of course, the bathroom. The girl stood in front of the door, not knowing whether she should go in or just wait for Sieun to leave the place.
Would it be weird if someone see me coming out of the bathroom with him? I mean, yes, but… Well, the teacher sent me to monitor his condition, it’s not like they…
Her thoughts couldn’t go on when a noise was heard, it was like a loud bang, as if something had hit the hand dryer or the door of some restroom.
Heejin opened the door immediately, finding Sieun in front of the sinks, her feet immediately activated as she saw the taller one’s body sway slightly, leaning back and forth, as if just standing there made him feel dizzy. The girl managed to catch his body before his forehead hit one of the sink faucets, preventing him from splitting his head.
— Sieun, you haven’t fainted, have you? — The boy murmured something that she didn’t understood, but Heejin’s hand could feel how hot his forehead was, as if he was releasing internal heat more than a fever, Sieun, not having enough balance, leaned on Heejin’s chest, just like that, the girl was hugging him from behind.
— God, you weigh more than it seems…— She murmured, she had quite a bit of strength in her body, mostly legs, however, the nerves of having the boy like that, so close to her, were making her feel useless.
Heejin decided to sit him somewhere, but she knew that if she left him in the sink, he would possibly fall and break his head, the floor was dirty, and she refused to let his uniform get dirty with strange fluids. So, deciding to walk to one of the cubicles of the place, opening the door of it with some difficulty. Heejin walked in and managed to sit the boy down on the toilet, making sure that he wouldn’t fall to the floor due to looking too dizzy, she let go, moving away from him a bit.
Although she didn’t manage to go that far when Sieun took her shoulders, feeling as if his eyes wanted to turn, he, not knowing the reason, let his head fall on Heejin’s shoulder, hiding his face in her neck, he closed his eyes to try to calm the dizziness and headache that kept his eyes open was provoking him.
The boy’s heavy breathing made Heejin’s skin shudder, much more so because it was hitting the sensitive part of her neck.
However, the nervousness in her system was interrupted when she saw something on the boy’s neck, raising her hand, she took, with her fingernail and being careful not to scratch the other, a small piece of paper, it was transparent, it almost looked like a sticker and of a color very similar to the warm tone of Sieun’s skin.
Looking at the piece of paper strangely, Heejin could hear Sieun letting out a groan, it was like gagging, as if he wanted to vomit, and in other cases, she would move away from him immediately to prevent him from vomiting on her, but this time, she just raised her hand and stroked his dark brown hair, feeling him tremble under her touch. — Do you want to vomit?
Sieun listened to that warm tone from the girl, sighing as he felt how those words made his chest tickle, compared to how he had heard Yeongbin or another classmate talk to him, she had used such a soft, almost affectionate tone to talk to him, and he didn’t know the reason, but he hoped that she would continue talking that way.
The boy shook his head, still with his head on the girl’s shoulder, feeling how the caress in his hair made his headache gradually disappear, his hand was cold, and even though it was on his hair, he could still feel that temperature when it touched his scalp.
A few minutes later, Heejin’s knees began to ache due to the hard floor of the bathroom she was kneeling on, lowering her hand from Sieun’s hair, it went down the nape of his neck until it reached his shoulders, Sieun sighed feeling that movement, it had caused his a great chill when her cold touch reached his skin.
With some gentleness, she pushed him a little, making Sieun sigh before raising his face, looking at her.
The boy’s eyes were fixed on Heejin’s, without reflecting on how close they were, he could only look at that small mole that the girl had right on her chocolate-colored iris, that small mole that almost blended with her pupil because of how dark it was, and if it wasn’t a few millimeters away from the dark black color of her large pupil.
Sieun lowered his eyes to Heejin’s lips, being able to see another small mole on his lower lip, it was like a small spot on her lower lip. — Sieun. — The girl’s soft voice made him look into her eyes again, the gleam of worry in her brown orbs made his heart soar, he hadn’t seen that twinkle in someone’s eyes for a long time.
That thought caused him to pull away from her, sighing with some force. And he was going to get up, but he was stopped by the girl’s hand on his arm sitting him back on the toilet.
The girl’s hand went down to Sieun’s, who watched her movements attentively, ready to move away from her touch, that was before she put something sticky on his finger, making him see what it was that she had placed on his skin.
Heejin could clearly see how his eyes were getting brighter, but that gleam of innocence wasn’t what painted his brown eyes, but a gleam of annoyance, almost anger, as if he was angry, however, she didn’t know if it was annoyance with her, himself, or with the piece of sticky stuff on his finger.
— Let’s go back to class. We have an exam.
The girl stared at him wide-eyed, somewhat doubtful. — Can you walk on your own? — The boy stood up, keeping his balance, showing her that there was no problem, seeing that, Heejin sighed, ready to get up, making a grimace when she felt that pain in her knee.
Sieun noticed that, which made him look with some doubt at the girl, stretching out his hand suddenly, he saw how Heejin was looking at it before her eyes fell on him, snorting, the boy grabbed her arm without much force, pulling her carefully to lift her. The two were quite close, and Sieun, in a nervous breakdown, just swallowed, pushing her as well as the door when she crashed into it, exiting the cubicle first.
Heejin didn’t understand what had just happened, however, when she saw the boy walking towards the door quickly, she just shook her head, walking towards the sinks, trying to get the glue off her fingernail.
When Siuen came out of the bathroom, he felt strange, turning around, he couldn’t see Heejin behind him, surprised, he went back to the men’s bathroom.
I can’t leave her there alone.
— You know long nails are prohibited, right? — Heejin looked at the boy in the mirror, almost frightened to see him so close to her, she swore she had seen him come out of the bathroom.
Pouting, she looked at her hands underwater before pulling them out and shaking them a little. — Don’t like them? Look, this one has a kitten. — The girl showed them to him once she shook them to remove excess water from her skin.
Sieun looked at them for a second, seeing how pretty her hands were, they weren’t thin, but they weren’t that plump either, her fingers were long, but normal for her hand type, and her skin was quite smooth, and he could see how her pinky stretched to a considerable distance from the others when she extended her fingers. Her nails weren’t extremely long, in fact, they were a good size, maybe the reason why her fingers looked longer, they had a nice moss green, some had a gradient to transparent, they didn’t look bad, in fact, it made her skin look lighter. — The color green doesn’t fit you.
Heejin looked at her hand when he said that, trying to see what was so wrong with it, Sieun saw her pout in confusion, that act made him swallow with some force, averting his gaze for a second before sighing, walking the last few raisins that were missing to reach her, and pull the girl’s wrist, he took her with him to the classroom, where some of the boys, those who had already finished the exam, looked at them with curious eyes, some of them malicious, but without saying anything because the teacher was there, and they were forbidden to disturb their other classmates who were still in their evaluation.
Heejin sat back in her seat, sighing to start over with her exam answers, glad that they will come to her quickly, however, her body jumped at the sound of a loud noise, Heejin’s eyes collided with Sooho’s as he turned somewhat surprised to see the boy behind him.
It had scared him.
Heejin looked strangely at the fact that Sieun was literally slapping himself at that instant, her hands clenched the pencil in her hand, not knowing what to do but watch him with open eyes, noticing how red his cheek was getting.
At that moment the boy seemed to be so focused on his action of hurting himself, that not even the teacher’s calls seemed to make him react, Heejin swallowed with some force, settling into her seat, leaning carefully. —Sieun…— She called softly, looking at him somewhat doubtfully. — Stop, you’re going to hurt yourself.
Heejin’s voice seemed to enter his ears, everyone around her saw how Sieun looked at her for a second, his serious eyes, for the first time changed, surprising some, the ones closest to where he was, Heejin felt a chill when she saw that strange glow, the girl was frightened, to the point that she looked away suddenly, putting her eyes back to her sheet.
Sooho saw that, frowning at that interaction, mostly because Sieun’s eyes didn’t seem to want to move away from his friend’s image.
Had something happened? That’s what he wondered, but he couldn’t keep thinking about it when the teacher ordered everyone to finish the exam, watching his friend move her pencil quickly again, as she always did, and taking one last look at the other boy, he gulp before rolling his eyes and leaning his head back on the desk once more.
There was always drama with that weird guy.
…
— Four, a… Five, a…— Heejin marked the correct answers on her sheet, listening to Sooho’s little snores behind her. They had already returned to their respective seats, so Sohoo was asleep behind her again, although he had spent the whole day like this, even at exam time.
The girl kept checking her answers, until a loud bang was heard, drawing everyone’s attention, including Sooho, who woke up from his sleep to see what was going on, looking to his sides with some confusion, until his eyes seemed to focus again.
Everyone’s gaze was on Sieun, he had been the cause of the loud noise, once again.
The brunette moved his head slowly, his eyes connected with Heejin’s for a moment, she embodied an eyebrow in confusion at the boy’s behavior, he was too upset that day, well, he wasn’t one to attract much attention, even if he got upset, he preferred to shut up and just go about his day as if nothing had happened, but that day he seemed to be too frustrated.
Heejin followed him with her eyes, much more so when he got up, his back was a little hunched, as always, but you could see the confidence in his steps, which were heading towards Yeonbing, and that was what made Heejin confused.
When the boy threw the first punch at the boy sitting in his place, Heejin’s eyebrows raised in surprise, that was, until she heard a scream from one of Yeonbing’s henchmen, she could see how Jeongchan, who was watching the scene like everyone else, surprised, stood up with some fear and speed, moving away from that area. Heejin looked in the direction of the tall and somewhat muscular boy, who had screamed in pain a few minutes ago, the brunette brought her hand to her mouth, opening it in surprise at noticing what had happened.
Had Sieun stabbed Taehoo hand with a pen?
Heejin couldn’t help but watch the scene with surprise, eyes and mouth open, Sieun was literally making mush to Yeonbing in front of all of them and no one seemed willing to do anything so that he wouldn’t end up dead in front of them. The chemistry book was indeed breaking his nose from the force with which it was smashed against him, however, everyone realized that only when blood began to stain the mint green curtain that Sieun had wound around his face before starting to attack him.
— Fuck Jinnie, your boyfriend has serious anger issues. — Sooho said, watching the scene with wide eyes in disbelief, thinking about how he had never seen that side of the boy before, now it seemed even worse than before.
—Yah, go and… get him away, he’s going to kill Yeonbing — The girl asked, pushing her friend’s arm, starting to worry about both boys at the scene. Yeongbin could die, and Sieun could become an assassin at that rate.
Sooho stood up, somewhat forced, just as Sieun was about to stomp on Yeongbin’s face, deciding to grab him by the shirt, he threw him towards some tables next to him. Heejin hurriedly rushed towards Yeongbin, although they were not friends and this was an idiot, the boy was in a serious situation and couldn’t just let him bleed out.
She hadn’t been raised that way.
— Shit Yeonbing, you’ll look uglier than usual. — The boy wanted to say something, coughing up some blood in return, staining the hands of the girl, who had taken his face to be able to examine his wound, horrendous by the way. — Come, sit, you’re going to choke.
When Heejin made the boy sit against the lockers at the end of the room, leaving him resting down, in a position that gave her the assurance that he would not die choking on his own blood, she turned her attention to Sooho and Sieun. -… An angel who has just woken up from a nap.
— Yah… — The girl asked, seeing how Sieun’s eyes still had that gleam of violence reflected in them, and it’s not that Sooho couldn’t beat him up, but knowing that he would get in trouble was what worried her. Besides, she didn’t want his friend to punch his pretty face, even though he would look quite handsome.
Moon Heejin, stop.
Heejin was about to get up before Sieun decided to attack, throwing his pencil case with sharp pencils at the tall boy in front of her, but maybe he didn’t expect them to fly off in another direction when Sooho dodged them, because when the girl fell to the ground, he could only tense up with some fear.
Heejin hissed in pain as she felt something cut near her left eye. Her hands went to this immediately, feeling the hot area and she could swear there was some blood, but nothing serious other than pain and burning, but she wasn’t a fan of either, let alone blood.
No, not at all a friend of blood.
Heejin decided to let Sooho beat up the boy, she was already upset enough, the pain only frustrated her and she knew that if she opened her eyes to see her hand, she would faint, and she didn’t want that, she preferred to watch as her friend and the boy she liked went to blows.
At least it would be more entertaining than the football games that Sooho puts you watching, wouldn’t it, Heejin?
Yes, it would be more entertaining.
Although she can’t see much more than how Sooho threw a punch at the boy, who had decided to use his chair as a weapon, which he let go of at the impact of the fist in his face falling to the ground.
Wow, he lasted less than Sooho in Mario Kart.
— Ah, I told you to stop.
— Who are you to give me orders? — Heejin stopped at that moment, she was already getting tired of the boy’s attitude, maybe because it was not common of him and if she was honest, it was a little scary. Moreover, she had noticed how Sooho was starting to get angry, and he upset was not something she wanted for Sieun, their eyes connected and he could see the small trace of blood in his friend’s eye, his anger grew more at that moment.
When Sieun got up from the ground, taking advantage of the taller one’s distraction, he was going to take another chair, but the teacher’s scream caught everyone’s attention. — What are you doing? Bring that down! Ah, damn. — Sooho began, trying to avoid punishment. — Teacher, I was just trying to stop my classmates from fighting, look… look how they made my little Jinnie… I couldn’t let them go with their vandalism anymore.— Sooho took Heejin’s face, squeezing her cheeks as he showed the left side of Heejin to the woman. — Ah, I’m so sorry, teacher. — Sooho made his body and the girl’s bow before seeing Sieun with feigned annoyance. — Apologize to her… Quick! — He ordered, Sieun on the other hand, he had his eyes on Heejin’s wound, the girl didn’t even see in his direction and deep down…
He didn’t like that.
— Ah, rude kid. Teacher, if you’ll allow me, I’d like to take Heejin to the infirmary, I feel like I’m going to have to put her eye back to her face if this isn’t taken care of soon.
