The teenage duo walked the windy streets of the city, with no destination in mind, just walking side by side. Although, Heejin had to buy food for Sooho, he wouldn’t stop bothering her if she didn’t bring him some dinner.

Sieun, who walked peacefully next to Heejin, did not show the mental discussions he had with himself at the time, mostly because he didn’t know how to start the conversation, he didn’t even know what he really wanted to tell her. Although he had been the one who had proposed such a talk, he really waited for the girl to come out with a phrase that could start the conversation that he was so eager to have.

— Why did you bring that girl?

That made Sieun look at Heejin strangely, blinking confused before analyzing the question, feeling even more stunned. — Youngyi?

— Ujum, yes, she — She muttered, not giving much importance to her name, only nodded and shrugged as she looked ahead, not letting Sieun see displeasure in her gaze. — Why did you take her with you to see Sooho? — The boy looked at her for a second, trying to analyze her posture better, although he could not see her eyes, he could notice how tense she was, and although he didn’t know very well if that was good or bad, he really felt that he should give a sincere explanation.

— She wanted to apologize to him… She put him in a difficult situation, so she thought she had to do the right thing… — Sieun replied, watching the girl smile mockingly as she denied, still looking forward as they walked.

— Do you mind? — Heejin denied, and of course Sieun did not believe her, but decided not to go into the subject any further, not wanting to make the girl angry, even more. — And I wanted to apologize to you.

Heejin looked at him for the first time all the way as she heard him say that, frowning, she questioned him. — Why?

— I know Sooho is someone important to you… I’m sorry to put him in this situation, and I guess I’m sorry to put you in this situation, too. — Sieun said, he had been preparing that apology since he had left the police station, and he was happy that he had let everything out in one go, he was nervous enough already.

— It’s okay… — The girl said, looking down, she didn’t really feel like he had to apologize for that, in any case, Sooho had been an idiot who had done things without even thinking, he hadn’t told him to leave, right?

Silent for a second before sighing, Heejin threw her head back, looking at the night sky around them. — I’m sorry too… — She let go, causing Sieun to look at her, noticing how she stopped slowly, as if she were looking for the words to say before lowering her head again to see his eyes. — I’m sorry to… Run away from you all day today. It’s just… Well, I told you, I get nervous about these situations and I tend to ignore them until they stop bothering me and all.

Sieun wanted to smile at that, watching the girl’s ears turn pink because of her nervousness. — It’s okay… It’s my fault. — Sieun said, leaving only a little doubt in the expression to Heejin, he swallowed with some annoyance for not being able to say everything at once, perhaps he was just hoping not to say the wrong words. — We kissed last night, I kissed you last night… — He corrected himself, playing with his own fingers, calming down, his heart had not stopped beating hard since they left the hospital and by that point, it felt like he had run a marathon. — I might… I should have made our relationship clear… Or… I don’t know…

Heejin could only look at him almost with her eyes coming out of his cavity, well, his eye, as he could not see him with her eye. In her mind only those words sounded: our relationship. The girl’s smile made Sieun look at her with open eyes, not knowing what it was because, because in his nervous state, he could not distinguish the malice hidden in it.

Did I say something funny?

— Our relationship?

That made him open his mouth and close it before he tried, diverting his gaze from the pretty big brown eyes that looked at him attentively. — Ah… Ah… I-I meant that… that we’re still… I mean, it’s not… what you think… I think… I… — The boy, for the first time, had stuck in his words, for the first time, he didn’t know what to say, for the first time he felt that nervousness climbing up his spine, for the first time he felt his cheeks take on that red color that lovers talked about so much.

For the first time, he felt his heart beating differently, not like when he was running on the school court, not like when he had an important test, no, it was different.

Heejin grimaced with tenderness, seeing him in the way made her wanting to hug him or squeeze his cheeks. Approaching him, she looked him in the eyes, forcing him to do the same. — Did I help you?

— ¿Uhm?

— You said you didn’t know how you felt… I kissed you yesterday to help you… Did I help you with that? — The girl asked, her round eyes looking at the boy’s, who, for a good minute, was silent, making Heejin feel nervous. She really expected a response, whether positive or negative, she’d come this far the guy that it would really disappoint her not to have one, although she really didn’t want to push him, she hoped that he would have something to tell her about his feelings for her. — Listen, if you don’t like me, Sieun, that’s fine, but I’d like you to tell me… You know, to close cycles and all that–

— Yes, you helped me. — The boy said, interrupting her, looking at her with a strange gleam in his eyes, one that Heejin really didn’t know how to decipher, and Sieun could notice it, but he also noticed how the girl’s were unconsciously returning that gleam. As if she already knew what he was about to say. — I like you Heejin.

Me what? Did he say he like me, or am I just hallucinating?

Looks like you stopped being the salty sea of pirates, Moon, congratulations.

Heejin’s smile could not be hidden, it showed slowly, as did that glow of joy in her eyes, well, eye, looking at Sieun and wanting to give little jumps of joy, But she stopped to see Sieun approaching her, being surprised by such an action, but she did not go away.

That would be stupid, wouldn’t it?

— You don’t have to apologize for avoiding me… Excuse me for not making clear how I feel about you and… What I wanted… I want… with you.

The girl’s smile grew, it wasn’t scary, in Sieun’s eyes, it was really lovely, as if she was too happy to hide it. — You want something with me, kitten?

Of course he does, not doubt it, he nodded, lowering his gaze somewhat distressed by his confession, stretching out his hands, waiting for her to take them, when she did, he felt a relief in his body as he felt that warm touch in his cold hands, he looked up again at her, analyzing her for a second before making a grimace. — I don’t know what to tell you, this is new to me, should I kiss you or just tell you that I like you is enough? Should I ask you out too?

Heejin smiled, releasing his hands, interrupting the boy in his speech, so that she could touch the boy’s warm face, smiling affectionately as both looks clashed once more. — You can do both, you know? But if you kiss me first, it’d be great.

Sieun blinked for a second towards herp lips, feeling his own suddenly dry before returning to her gaze, bringing his face closer to hers before stopping inches, his lips grazed a little, and that made Heejin complain about a sudden act.

She was looking forward to kissing him again.

— Be my girlfriend, Heejin.

When those words came out of the boy’s lips, she felt a chill running down her spine, yet she smiled, moving closer to him, allowing him to put his hands on her hip so he could feel her a little more. Wishing to see, with both eyes those pretty brown balls that he was carrying, she just nodded, rubbing her nose with his before tightening his cheeks a little and smiling. — I’ll be your girlfriend, Sieun.

With that said, Sieun cut the space between the two, feeling Heejin’s hands leave his face and as her arms surrounded his neck, this made the boy take her waist gently, bringing her closer to him a little, bowing his head to deepen the kiss further before the two separated for lack of breath. When that happened, Heejin opened her eye to encounter an image she never thought would make her so tender. — Oh, my God.

Sieun was frightened by that, looking at her with some concern in his dark orbs, had been of his first kisses and really hoped he hadn’t done something wrong, not to Heejin. — What’s going on?

— Were you smiling? — The girl asked obviously, noticing how he squeezed his lips, quickly denying, his nerves beating him, she didn’t believe him a little, because she had seen him, approaching him, she squeezed his cheeks a bit as she pouted. — Of course you do, you like my kisses, don’t you, kitten? — She asked eagerly to annoy him. — Let see, show me another smile, yes? — Sieun denied when he heard that tone, it was as if she was talking to a little baby, looking down even with his lips tight, he only felt his ears turn red from shyness. — Come on, show your girlfriend your pretty smile.

Without being able to take it any longer, the boy let out a little nervous laugh.

Girlfriend, what you thought was impossible, didn’t you, Sieun?

Deflecting her face from the sight of Heejin, who opened her mouth at the sight of the action, moving so that she could see her red face with a shameful smile on her face, she leapt as she took his face in her hands. — But if you’re so cute, look at you! — She said, smiling with amazement and joy at seeing that scene, that in her eyes, it was the most precious thing she had ever seen.

Sieun cleared his throat, even with a little smile in his expression, he looked at her again. — I smiled at you… I want something in return.

Heejin raised an eyebrow. — Oh… That fast? Tell me kitten, what do you want?

— I want two things.

— you’ll have to give me another smile then. — Sieun nodded, now more earnestly, staring at her. — All right, tell me.

— I want you to go home with me, don’t sleep with Sooho in the hospital. — He said, making Heejin make a face, she didn’t know if she could do that, the boy really had serious problems with hospitals.

— Oh… oh, it’s just… You don’t know, Sooho has trouble staying alone in the hospitals, it’s… I can’t leave him alone, kitten…

Sieun grimaced, playing with the edge of the girl’s shirt, looking down, didn’t want to sound like someone possessive, or annoying, asking for that kind of thing, but just thinking of Heejin sleeping in the same bed with that boy made his heart beat hard, and not in the pretty way.

He nodded, sighing, feeling Heejin attracting him to her, hugging him by his neck, he felt the strawberry smell that the girl emanated, being totally stunned by him, he squeezed his arms around her waist, returning affection. — You don’t have to be jealous, kitten… Although I admit you look pretty like that, it’s not something you have to feel, okay?

The boy complained about it on her neck, denying. — It’s not that… It’s just… I don’t know, yes, maybe it’s that… — This one accepted, earning a little giggle from Heejin, who made him smile a little, refusing to let go of her, not after feeling an incredible tranquility when smelling that sweet smell which came from her, he didn’t know if it was her hair or her lotion, but it was nice.

Heejin laughed, feeling tender as she felt the boy run his nose down her neck, just like a kitten, stroking his hair before leaving a kiss near his neck, just at the end of his jaw a second later.

Heejin, in fact, was a person with a like for physical touch.

— You don’t have to be, okay? Trust me just as I will trust you not to let Yunyi approach you with other intentions. — Sieun couldn’t help but smile at the feeling her words gave him in his chest.

— Are you jealous of her?

The girl gasps, indignant at his question, touching his chest with her finger, she looked at him. — How dare she to take your arm like that? Ah…— The girl shook her head, closing her eyes as if just thinking about it bothered her, and maybe it did. — I have to erase that image from my head.

Sieun smiled a little, putting his hands on the girl’s face, making her look at him with a soft, almost dull view. — Then I’ll trust you… And you trust that I won’t let her come near me… — He said, making Heejin smile, taking the boy’s face to leave another short kiss on his lips. — Heejin… — he murmured, staring at her attentively. — Her name is Youngyi… No Yunyi…

—Yah.

When the duo returned to the hospital, Sieun was carrying bags of food in his hand, they had decided to go buy Sooho’s dinner, they couldn’t leave him without eating so long. So Heejin asked Sieun to accompany her.

And he did.

Sooho’s eyes widened when the noise of something falling scared him, seeing a bag positioned in front of him, he look at the two people, who looked, rarely, fine, Heejin even wore Sieun’s gray sweatshirt over her body, which aroused a question in Sooho’s head, who only looked at her with narrow eyes as she sat in the same chair she had been before. — What’s going on?

— Didn’t you say I had to feed the “only boy in my eyes”? — Heejin asked, touching his cheek as she smiled tenderly, and that seemed to Sooho pure sarcasm. — Well, he doesn’t want to eat, so I brought you some food.

— Yah, you… — Sieun saw how they both pushed each other with fun, he blinking, remembering Heejin’s words, he didn’t have to bother about it, they were friends. Averting his gaze, he walked to the other gurney, leaving the bag carrying some burgers on Youngyi’s legs, who saw him with her mouth open before saying something about eating at night would make her gain weight. But it didn’t matter to him, seeing how Hejiin made Sooho look at the food that was in the bag that he had left earlier on his table.

— Say thanks to Sieun, he bought it. — Heejin pointed, as if she were a mother ordering something to her son.

Sooho looked at the soup before seeing the boy mentioned, who had his eyes fixed on his friend. — What’s wrong with you today? — He question, earning an accusing look at the girl, Sooho took no importance, staring at Sieun with a grimace. — Oh, look, I even got goose bumps. What’s your problem, asshole?

Sieun looked at the boy without understanding, passing his gaze from him to Heejin, perhaps asking for an explanation. — What?

— You, you’re very affectionate, I wouldn’t be surprised if you gave me a hug. — Sooho said, looking at him seriously, as if that was the most important issue he had ever touched on in his life. — Your eyes, how you behave… Even your way of talking, ah… You look like Heejin when she realized she liked you.

The girl looked at him immediately upon hearing that confession, however, she did not do much when she heard the gasp of Sooho, who looked at Sieun with surprise, almost not believing what he saw.

That idiot was smiling?

Sooho sighed surprised, grimacing, as if imitating his smile, Sieun only smiled and denied, taking a small chair that was near the gurney where Youngyi was already eating, by dragging her to take her next to Heejin’s.

Sitting down, he looked at Sooho, pointing at the food. — Just eat.

Sooho looked at Heejin, who looked at Sieun’s profile before passing her eyes on him, giving him an accusing look, she pointed out. — Eat it or I’ll take it to the nurse on duty. — Sooho looked at both before blinking and taking the cutlery, murmuring something that they both looked strange but said no more, starting to eat.

Heejin could feel a warmth in her hand, watching as Sieun’s fingers intertwined with hers above the back of her hand, creating a warm grip, the girl smiled, closing her hand to return the grip.

She was going to tell Sooho what had happened, yes, but when she was sure they were in a private place where the boy could scream with excitement.

After all, Sooho was her friend, a friend who had seen how foolishly in love she was with that boy with a garu complex. Because that’s what a friend does, to rejoice in the happiness of the people they care about, and for Sooho, there was no more important person, after his grandmother, than Heejin.

And he knew that for her there was no one more important than him, although he would add Sieun as well, but he preferred to think that it was “the only boy on her eyes”, at least, whom he had to feed with his homemade ramen.

— Yah, Sooho, I assure you, you haven’t finished your breakfast and you’re talking to me again.

Heejin’s voice on the phone was heard in the classroom, Sieun’s gaze immediately lifted as he heard her, noticing her walking toward her seat before stopping as if she remembered something.

They had not gone to school together as he would have wanted because she had taken care of bringing breakfast to Sooho, because according to him, the hospital food had remains of the dead bodies that the families were not going to pick up, it was a ridiculous thing. But the girl had fulfilled his request and he had to go to school alone.

Seeing as she returned in her footsteps and approached him while still talking to Sooho. — Okay, I’ll buy you soup, now, bye. — Heejin said before hanging up, looking at Sieun before smiling at him. — Good morning, kitten.

— Good morning, Hee. — He told her before opening his eyes as he felt the lips of this one colliding with his cheek, watching as she walked away as if nothing. Sieun’s eyes moved to Bumseok, who was next to him, noticing how he looked surprised. — What?

— I thought she was dating Sooho. — He confessed, and even though they were getting closer, he really didn’t know the relationships between those three very well.

Sieun’s frown frowned for a moment before denying, returning to his notebook to study, squeezing his pencil in his hand. Do they look so good together that everyone takes them as a couple?

Hours later, the group was already in the cafeteria, having their lunch, Sooho had arrived late that day, but Heejin had taken care of giving the boy’s permission to the teacher so that she would not have a absent in class.

Heejin moved to Sooho’s side, however, Sieun’s hand stopped her, moving her so that she would sit with him, and without complaining, she did, sitting in front of Sooho, who had his arm cast but still put a large tray full of food in front of him.

Heejin started eating without paying much attention to her surroundings, she was quite hungry, she had not eaten breakfast very well, Sieun could only see how Sooho started putting large spoonfuls of food into his mouth while talking about something he couldn’t even understand. — Are you going to eat all that?

— Yeah, and we’re going to the snack bar, too, right? — He asked the other two people there, who ate quietly, Heejin nodded without paying much attention, Bumseok did, but adding that he would invite them to the food. — Oh, you don’t have to do that, today’s on me.

— Then I’ll go. — Heejin smiled, looking at her friend with a tender smile. He returned the gesture with sarcasm, but Sieun didn’t seem to see that in the same way as they did.

Stop it, Sieun, they’re friends, remember what Heejin told you.

— Are you free this weekend? There’s a new coffee shop downtown, we should go.

— Do they sell food?

— Yes, it’s a restaurant and cafeteria.

— I like it, let’s go. — Sooho nodded, Heejin shook with a smile, putting more food in her mouth. Sieun could only see the tall boy in front of him with some displeasure, he did not understand how he fit so much food, if it was as Heejin said, he had eaten at least two hours ago.

— How can you talk about food when you’re already eating?

Sooho stared at Sieun obviously before seeing Heejin indignantly, blinking.

Do you really like that, Moon?

After swallowing, he settled in his chair before talking. — So you don’t talk about life while you live? — Heejin’s giggle made Sieun see her almost indignant, sighing, he shrugged before continuing with his meal, there was no way to make him see what he was doing, so he would let it be.

— Hey, what about Youngyi’s job? — Heejin grimaced, the girl really don’t like her so much, but apparently the other two boys did, so she couldn’t do much about it. The girl apparently wanted a job because now that Gilsu was in jail, she could return to her normal teenage life, although she had financial problems, which forced her to look for a job.

Heejin raised her head as she felt a touch on her shoulder, looking to her left, she smiled in the form of a greeting as she saw the boy standing there, smiling at her as well. — Oh! Wooin, it’s true. — She opened her eyes as if remembering something important, staring at the table before putting one last bite into her mouth to pass her tray to Sooho, who smiled with satisfaction at knowing that he would eat more than he had paid. — I’m sorry, I forgot.

— Don’t worry, Hee. — This one smiled warmly.

Sieun felt a touch of discomfort when he heard that. Hee? Did he have to look for another nickname then?

Cha Wooin, a guy of his same year, different class, this was the first place in math, every year, so Heejin had asked him for help with the tutoring thing, Wooin was tall, dark brown hair like his eyes, tanned skin with moles scattered on his face, was an attractive boy, both knew each other for a long time, but being of another class did not let them the opportunity to form a friendship, at least, not like the one she and Sooho had.

When Siuen saw her rise from her seat, he took her by the hand, making everyone at the table look closely at him, mostly Sooho, who was half a bite to see that action. — where are you going?

Heejin smiled tenderly as she saw that almost invisible pot in her boyfriend’s features. — Wooin and I have to study. — She clarified, in a soft voice, bending over to leave a kiss on his cheek, the girl smiled on it when she heard him murmuring: That’s what you got your boyfriend for. The girl straightened up with an almost nervous smile on her lips, moving her eyes to Sooho, she nodded. — If you need me, I’ll be in the library.

Sooho looked at the scene with his mouth open, processing everything he had just witnessed, reacting as Heejin walked by his side with the tallest boy. — Yah… Yah, Moon Heejin! Are you dating Garu? — The boy’s loud voice made everyone in the place look in his direction, he was standing, pointing to Sieun with his finger as he looked in the direction where the girl was walking away.

In the room there was a gasp from most students, who began to murmur before watching Sooho put a few spoonfuls of food in his mouth and then grab his backpack and run after his friend as he screamed, the most he could with all is food in the mouth, Heejin’s name.

Wow, finally Moon Heejin had achieved her goal.

Yeon Sieun.
