I got up this morning and had to drag myself to get ready for school.

I kinda hate it sometimes, but once I’m there and hanging out with friends, suddenly I don’t feel like going home.

Life’s so weird, you know? You spend all your life trying to get away from school, but then after school, you’re just itching to go back to your school life.

But it’s not the same for everyone,
because not everyone loves school, like my bhai, for some reason he can’t stand it.

He’s all quiet about his school days and I didn’t even hear him talking about his school life, he never even went to any school reunion. He prefers college life over school life, he said that he met many people who are genuine not keeping their double facade face.

Last year, I felt the same as him, I also didn’t like my previous school. Why? Because I have met people who change their colour faster than chameleons, but now, it’s like things have changed a bit.

Maybe cause now I’ve found some genuine people at school who actually care about me.

Well, some of them at least.

Most of the people in my class are just…ahh I don’t even want to talk about them.

But Tanya, Sid, Yash – they’re different, they are literally the best people i have met, and when your heart is happy to be with them you know that they are the ones whom you are finding for your whole life.

If you know someone who brings peace to your soul, makes you feel happy, and brings joy to your life, cherish them and hold onto them forever.

And then there is an Idiot Chimpanzee, he is a little bit annoying but not that bad. I mean he is good but still that doesn’t mean I don’t hate him.

Also, I started walking to school recently, although there was not so much distance, but my parents changed up my transportation to the bus, because I was new back then. Now, I know the roads and alleys.

I had my breakfast and opened the main gate only to see someone I really didn’t want to…ahh what a sight to start a day….

He smirked at me. One day, I’ll be the one who will wipe that infamous smirk from his face.

Koi isko batao aisa hi krta rahega toh muh tedha ho jaayega.

(Someone should tell him his face will get crooked if he keeps it up)

I wish I could tell him, but being an introvert, I keep everything to myself.

It’s not easy to speak up, you know.

“Good morning, Ruh,” he said, waving and putting his bag on his shoulders.

“Good morning, and just so you know, my name is Ruhanika, so call me that,” I replied.

“Oh, that’s a quite long name,” he said while munching on chocolate.

“Then call me Ruhii,” I told him, giving him a glare.

“Geez, Ruhii is long too”

“How does Ruhii seem to have a long name to you like you are calling me Ruh you just have to add two ii’s at the end, so what’s the big deal?”

“It’s a big deal see, Ruh has only three letters and Ruhii has five. I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure out that three is less than five,” he said with a playful gesture.

“Honestly, arguing with you is pointless. Are you always this crazy, or is it just around me?” I asked as he walked towards me, i stepped back he tilted his head and whispered, “I’m crazy….only for you,” with a wink.

I stood rooted at my place confused, wondering what he meant.

“Are you planning to stay here forever or should I order a chariot for you?” he shouted, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I hurried to keep up with his long strides, i realised that one of his steps was equivalent to three of mine.

He has long legs that’s why he is walking fast.

Chimpanzee.

He seems stupid to me sometimes, it really hard to understand him. One at a time he fights with me then the next moment he says something which always left me confused.

Moron. Idiot. Stupid.

“Don’t waste your energy in cursing me Ruh…infact save your energy for the competition,” he said with a mischievous smile.

I just ignored his comments and walked up to the school.

Ruhii and Vihaan just strolled into the school, found their way to their class, and took their seats.

Vihaan decided to sit at his usual spot because he might be a little afraid of Ruhii to do her magic on him.

Meanwhile, Yash barged into the classroom and headed straight to the back where Sid and Vihaan were chilling.

“You kamine insaan, You said you would come with me, I was only a little late,” Yash grumbled, shooting a look at Sid.

Vihaan braced himself for the upcoming drama as he watched sid and yash glaring like kids at each other.

“Yeah, you were half an hour late, and I ain’t up for getting punished for coming late because of you and then having to run five laps around the ground as a punishment…..wait how the hell did you enter into school as far as I remembered PT sir was standing at the gate and writing names for latecomers? “Sid asked, looking puzzled.

Yash smirked at this.

“Well, I sneaked in from the storeroom at the back like always. Because Saurav uncle forgot to lock the window again,” Yash said smugly, settling into his seat like a king.

Saurav uncle was the assistant of the vice principal, he is too good in his work but he’s known for forgetting stuff but since he also knows for his honesty school authority decides to let him work.
His dedication and honesty kept him in the job.

Feeling confident Yash started praising himself but his attention was drawn to his physics notebook which is kept on the table.

“WHAT THE-” he shouted gaining everyone’s attention.

“Hehe, keep working, he’s just being silly,” Vihaan reassured everyone, glaring at Yash.

“What’s wrong?”

“I forgot to do my physics assignment,” Yash said while horrifying as he remembered his Physics teacher’s angry face.

“Cool.”

“Bravo.”

“You totally deserve an award,” Vihaan praised, clapping with Sid.

“We messaged about it in our group chat, where were you?” Sid asked.

“Well, I… I fell asleep thinking I’d do it at night, but woke up in the morning when my mom poured a bucket of water and that’s how I also got up late,” Yash explained sheepishly.

“You know Miss Ragini is already in her angry teacher mode,” Vihaan warned.

“Agr tu abhi bhi start krega phir bhi nahi kr paayga kyuki first period hi Ragini Mam ka hai,” Sid added, adding fuel to the fire.

(Even if you start now, you won’t finish in time because the first period is with Ragini mam)

Yash looked at both of them in horror.

“Kismat hi kharab hai meri….ahhh…, give me your notebook so I can copy at least half of the assignment.”

(My luck is just so bad)

Yaha started writing super fast, but poor guy didn’t realize the assignment had 50 questions and he had to show all the steps for each answer. He could only manage to get through 10 questions while

Vihaan and Sid were there motivating him like….
‘You can do it, Yash!’
‘Yes, you can win this battle!’

Just as Yash was on question 10, Miss Ragini walked into the classroom.

Yash muttered under his breath,
‘Waise toh hamesha 15 minutes late aati hai aur aaj jab aana chahiye toh Miss Anabelle 10 minute pehle hi aa gyi”

(She’s always 15 minutes late, and today when she should be late, so Miss Annabelle is 10 minutes early)

“Good morning, students, we have 10 minutes before class starts. Let me take attendance first, then check your assignments. Anyone who hasn’t completed you will have to do 5 times the work as punishment,” she said in her sweet voice which is not so sweet.

15 minutes passed, Miss Ragini took attendance, and then she had to rush to the school office as the principal called her.

Yash just copied 30 questions when Miss Ragini showed up and started checking everyone’s notebooks.

Vihaan and Sid were stressed because Yash hadn’t done his assignments.

Vihaan came up with a plan and said, “Yash ek kaam kr behosh hone ka natak kr ke, phir hum tujhe medical room le jaynge aur wapas aate aate first period over ho jayega”

(Yash, pretend to faint and we’ll take you to the medical room. By the time we come back, the class will be over)

Sid agreed, and Yash glared at them, thinking he might get into trouble with the strict medical assistant.

Agr yaha se Bach jaunga toh woh jo medical assistant hai woh….kaccha chaba jayengi woh agr unge pata chala mere natak Kia “ yash said.

(If I survive from here then that medical assistant will chew me raw if she finds out that I have pretended)

Well she was known for catching lies of students she can easily find whether a student is pretending and is genuinely sick and if she finds out about the lie, she makes them run 10 laps around the ground.

“Ye duniya waale masoom bacche ka dukh samjhte hi nhi,” Yash complained.

(These adults have no idea how hard it is to be a student)

Miss Ragini took his notebook and asked, “What is this, Yash? You didn’t complete it, why?”

She glared at him, making poor Yash gulp.

“Mam, my cat had given birth to kittens, and I was taking care of them,” he said, while Vihaan and Sid facepalmed at his excuse.

“Oh, really? Weren’t you the one who told me last time that you are allergic to cats, and that’s why you didn’t complete your last homework?” she asked, folding her arms.

At that moment, poor Yash knew he had messed up very badly.

“Mam, actually…”

“Shut up, Yash! Do you think I’m a fool?” she yelled.

Meanwhile, Yash who has no control over his mouth and said, “No, mam, you are not a fool, in fact, you are a beauty-fool,” making everyone laugh.

While Vihaan and Sid along with Ruhanika and Tanya prayed for his well-being.

“Mr. Yash Sharma, get out of my class right now!”, Miss Ragini yelled, making everyone flinched.

And our poor Yash ran out of the class, murmuring to himself, ‘Anabelle se bhi darawani lag rhi thi yrr’

(She seemed scarier than Annabelle)

Vihaan and Sid came out of class and stood beside Yash.

Yash frowned at them.

“Do you really think we will let you have fun alone here?” Vihaan asked, with Sid chiming in, “Yeah, I couldn’t handle her class right now, she looks so angry”

“And when she’s angry, she doesn’t teach, she just writes on the blackboard,” Vihaan sighed.

They both told Ragini they forgot their notebooks. And that’s how Vihaan and Sid were thrown out of the class.

The trio looked at each other and burst out laughing, but quickly composed themselves as they were being punished outside the classroom and most importantly they don’t want to make their teacher more angry.

“I think this is a better way to skip class without coming to the class bunkers list,” Sid said, to which Vihaan and Yash nodded.

They actually seemed to be enjoying their punishment, and regarding the lecture, they knew Miss Ragini would just make all of them do the assignment as revision, so technically they didn’t miss the lesson.

The first period got over and the chaotic trio came back to the class it was their chemistry period when again Miss Ragini enters.

“Now why did she come again…is she is going to punished us or what if she got to know that I came late and sneak from store room,” Yash whispered to which Vihaan and Sid looked each other and shrugged their shoulders.

“Sorry to disturb you all but I want to introduce a new student, yeah due to some issues she joined this session in middle so I want all of you to help her in backlogs, baccha come and introduce yourself”, Miss Ragini said while looking at a girl.

The girl has beautiful charcoal black eyes, light brown curly hair. She has a light dusky skin tone and is absolutely glowing as sunrays are falling on her.

The girl took a deep breath and prepared herself to introduce herself.

“Hello Everyone, I am Vani Mehta” she said without any emotions her eyes seemed completely balnk she doesn’t have any ounce of emotions on her face not a sight of nervousness or excitement. Every student looked at her but she does seem awkward when every one is looking at her she stood at her place with her stoic face.

Miss Ragini and their chemistry teacher aka Vihaan’s Mom looked the girl in weird but they realised maybe it was her first day so maybe she is not comfortable in the complete new environment.

Miss Ragini spoke, “that’s it”

Vani looked at her and replied, “that’s it”
