I was so surprised when Vihaan fainted out of nowhere.
One second he was okay, and the next second he fainted, our teacher had to rush to him and call the guard uncle to take him to the medical room.
Sid, Yash, and Tanya all hurried there, so I also went to him.
Even though I know that I don’t like him, I couldn’t help but feel a bit worried for him.
When the teacher told us to go back to class, Sid and Yash didn’t budge from their place, I like their friendship the care, worry for their friend is clearly evident on their face.
One thing I learned if you find friends who care for you and stay loyal just hold him or her tight before the storm comes and take them with it.
Tanya and I decided to stay too. After about an hour, Vihaan woke up, and Sid and Yash bombarded him with questions.
I couldn’t help but smile when I saw he was okay.
I glanced at him one last time before heading back to class to at least half of the notes.
As I rushed to write everything down, my subconscious was poked his nose, ‘Bruhh, you’re writing so fast because you’re worried about Vihaan’s health.’
‘Ugh, no way am I gonna write notes for that dumb monkey. I’m only doing it for myself, Tanya, Sid, and Yash,’ I replied cleverly.
‘Sure, sure whatever makes you sleep at night,’ my mind teased me but I brushed it off.
Eventually, Vihaan left early, so I spent my day writing notes in humans handwriting so my friends could actually understand what the chemistry teacher scribbled on the board and what I managed to scribble down.

I walked into my house feeling silence everywhere, I headed to the caretaker aunty’s room.
She’s been with us since I was ten and she is so sweet , I still remember she always hides candy for me.
I saw her and she was engrossed in cooking.
Giving her a back hug as she cooked, I commented, “Aunty, it smells amazing. I can’t wait to taste it.”
Just as I reached out to grab some, she smacked my hand and I pouted, “Ruhii, go wash your hands and sanitize first”
I looked at her and just sighed, being in a doctor’s family, one thing I learned is ‘sanitizer me doob jaao,’ like really?
(immerse me in sanitizer)
I mentally sighed and headed to the washroom to take a shower. Well, not a real shower, No I took a shower from sanitizer. Note the sarcasm.
Then I went to grab some food.
After that, I went to dadu’s room and shared my result with him, and guess what?
He gave me two chocolates and blessed me for the future i smiled at him.
Dadu’s room is tucked away in a corner, with a small balcony area attached to a gate, leading to the garden. Due to his health, he doesn’t come out of his room much.
I went back to my room, switched on the TV to relax and tuned in to Doraemon.
I still enjoy watching cartoons as they give me next level sukoon (ultimate comfort)
I’m not that keen on series or romantic movies. I prefer mystery films and cartoons.
Then I spent four hours studying straight and then it was time for dinner.
Aunty, dadu, and Kunal Bhai also joined, and we had dinner together.
In the middle of dinner, mom and dad came over and joined us. I just focused on my meal.
“Did you get your mid-term results?” Dad asked me, sounding cold.
I nodded.
“How much did you score?” He asked sternly, making me anxious.
My hands started trembling as I answered, I don’t know if it became a habit of mine since childhood, my hands started shaking and I placed my hands on my thighs and started rubbing it happens when I am nervous, but I managed to say “97 percent”
Kunal Bhai smiled and gave me a thumbs up, mom looked satisfied, but Dad’s expression remained cold.
He didn’t even look at me.
I wondered if I should score more higher marks. I felt little hurt by his behaviour but looks like it became a habit.
After everyone left, I finished dinner. And I started my second study session.
I closed my textbook around 11:30 pm and was about to note down my study targets for the next day when someone knocked on the door.
I opened the gate and I saw dad.
I asked him, “Dad, do you need anything?”
He replied, “nothing, well did you finish your study?”
I said, “Yes, I was just wrapping things up and was about to sleep.”
“Hmm, come with me,” he said.
So, I walked up with him to the kitchen where he put ice cream in two bowls.
He gave me one and said, “Have it.”
I asked, “Suddenly ice cream?” because normally mumma said to not eat icecream as it doesn’t suit me but I couldn’t say no to ice cream because Ice cream ke saath no compromise.
(No compromise with ice cream.)
“Kbhi kbhi kha le leni chaiye,'” he said.
(We should eat sometimes)
So, we sat together and had our ice cream.
He then asked me, “How is your new school?”
I replied, “It’s actually good. At first, I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I do.”
I was smiling while remembering Vihaan’s shocked face. That was funny. I’ll definitely tease him. Oh wait, Ruhii, why did you smile? You hate him, remember.
“That’s great, i hope you’re getting used to your new surroundings,” he said as he caressed my hair while we finished our ice cream.
And when he left, I was about to stand when I saw him he turned back and said, “Good job, Ruhii, and shh don’t mention the ice cream to mumma or she’ll kill us”
When I turned to look at him, he was already heading to his room and I chuckled a little bit feeling our old
times when we all sat together and chit chat for so long, but it looks like everyone got busy in life that aise waqt nikalna bhi mushkil ho gaya hai family ke liye.
(It has become difficult to find time for family)
A tear rolled down my cheek, but I felt happy deep down that my dad acknowledged me.
I went into my room, wrote down today’s date and my dad’s words.
I was so happy that I fell asleep instantly, but then my mind wandered to Mr. Chimpanzee – Is he okay? Is he eating right and staying hydrated? I tossed and turned all night worrying about him.
Suddenly, I sat up and told myself, “Ruhii, just sleep before you go crazy,” as I pulled the comforter over me and finally drifted off.

NEXT DAY-
God, this Mr. chimpanzee annoyed me all day, the idiot.
I don’t have any single idea why he decided to sit with me.
For the whole day I felt like his eyes were on me the whole time, giving me the weird tingling sensation.
I could feel the awkwardness in the air, but he just wouldn’t leave.
I mean, why is he so eager to sit with me? I’m not stupid, I know he’s not sitting here because of his idiotic excuse of weak eyesight.
He’s just purposely getting on my nerves.
Soon lunch break started and I figured out lunch break was a good chance to escape, so I got up to go to the bathroom.
I knew the top floor would be full, so I headed down to the ground floor, and guess who follows me?
Yep, Mr. Annoying Chimpanzee himself.
I had enough of his games, so I turned to him with a raised eyebrow and crossed arms.
He gave me a sheepish smile and shoulder shrug.
“Why are you following me all day long without beating around the bush? Just answer me, you idiot,” I finally said.
Good job, Ruhanika! I just wanted to say that it took a lot of courage for me to make a complete sentence at least 5 times just to ask him. It’s just introverts’ struggles. I don’t know why I never get frustrated and ignore everyone, but he’s a special case, a total crackhead.
“Uh…uh…how…am…I…studying…you?” he said, fumbling with words.
Now I was beyond annoyed with him.
“What on earth are you saying? Just speak normally, why are you talking in the NCERT language?” I said.
And he again mischievously smile while angers me more i gritted my teeth now my anger is on peak level.
“Why the hell are you following me, Mr. Chimpanzee?” I asked frustrated.
He sighed and asked like a innocent and curios kid, “I just want to know which Black, White, Red or Green Magic you pulled off to top the exam”
Hainn. Like seriously why he is still stuck on this.
I looked at him but soon smirked and came closer to him and we are in a corner of corridor…I started walking towards him he looked surprised by my actions and this make my confidence raised.
I leaned to his ears and whispered, ” I used…dark…completely dark black magic to top the exam, and think about it if I can use this to top my exam then I can also used it to destroy the thorn which is coming between me and top rank….and you know amazing thing is you are the thorn”
I came back to my position, he is still thinking so seriously and I couldn’t control he is looking confused baby Chimpanzee .
And I burst out laughing seeing me he thinks about it and I can see it finally hit him that I was just pulling his leg and we both burst out laughing.
Flr the first time I saw him laughing otherwise he always remained in Chimpanzee mood. He should laugh like this, he is looking cute.
Soon he walked and meet some juniors, by looking at him I think he meets that junior for the first time. How people become so friendly just in seconds and smiling like they are lost friends.
But then there’s me who lost her smile, sometimes I think my introvert nature will become hurdle for me in future. Should I change myself? Should I behave like other people behave, but I don’t like to interact with many people, dad always says that you will remain alone if you will stuck to your introvert zone. Will I remain alone if I don’t interact with people.
“You don’t need to change yourself, your quiet, introspective nature is one of the things that makes you truly remarkable,” vihaan said while flickering his finger on my forehead.
I smiled at his words.
But wait..how did he know what I was thinking..?
Did he know how to read mind.?
“Don’t overthink Ruh, i can know what is going on in your pretty little brain, because the way you learned to use dark black magic i learned to use White magic”, he said while smiling and turned back to other side of corridor.
I looked at his retrieving figure, I don’t know why but I can’t stop smiling.
Wait did he call me Ruh?
