Chapter 3 ~
I woke up feeling sweaty. I looked at the clock; 08:13 am. I smiled. I woke up earlier than my alarm. I looked around and frowned. Where is Tyler? Oh right.. he went home. I want him to be next to me when I wake up. The first one I can kiss in the morning, to be the only one that can touch him. Okay Damien snap out of it! I say to myself. I mentally slapped myself and stepped out of my bed. I stripped down my boxers. I went to my bathroom and stepped under the hot water. I moaned at the feeling. The hot water was a great feeling. I thought back about yesterday. We had so much fun. I even kissed Tyler’s head, he didn’t mind. Would he ever notice that I like him? I’m not sure, what I’m sure of is that I’m not gonna tell him anything about my feelings. He was right. We’re best friends, why do I want a relationship with him if I can be friends with him? Oh yeah, that’s right I wanna be the one he loves, I wanna be the one waking up next to him every morning. I want to be able to kiss him, to touch him. To whisper sweet things in his ear, cuddling on the couch till late. I know I can do all these things with Ryan, but that’s not the same. I don’t love him. No! Wait, I do love Ryan, but not in the way I love Tyler. There was a knock on the door. “Damien you okay?” My mum asked through the door. “Yeah, I am. I will be down in 5 minutes.” She said okay and I heard her walking away. I heard another knock on the door. Huh? I heard her walking away? “Yeah?” “Do you need some help?” I smirked. “Yeah sure come in the door is open.” There he was, my lovely cousin. Sometime he let me forget my problems with Tyler. Like now.
When I was dressed we walked downstairs. “Good morning mum. Good morning dad.” Ryan and I said in unison. We heard someone coughing. “Good morning Scarlett.” We both said in unison again. She fake smiled at us and got back to her food. I smirked. “Don’t act like that Scar.” I said with my sweetest voice. She looked at me in horror and squealed in amusing. She got up and I started chasing her. “I’m gonna get you!” “No, you’re not! I’m faster than you!” I smirked. “Who said something about being faster?” She looked quickly behind her, but long enough for me to see the confused look she had on her face. When she looked back in front of her Ryan was standing in front of her to catch her. He wrapped his arms around her and she squealed again. I wrapped my arms around her and Ryan let loose. “See, got ya.” I grinned. I started to tickle her. “No! Damien! S-stop p-pl-please! I-i can’t b-breathe!” She stuttered. I stopped and she slapped me playfully on my shoulder. “You jerk.” She laughed. “Okay guys, back to breakfast please.” Mum said.
We all got back to breakfast. “Love, is Tyler coming over today?” Mum asked at me. I shook my head. “No, not that I know of. Why?” She shrugged. “Just asking. It would be lovely. I really like him. What do you think of him? Since well, you’re gay and all.” She asked carefully. I started to play with my food. “I think he’s really nice.” My mum raised an eyebrow. “And?” I sighed. “I might or might not have a crush on him.” I blushed. There it is. I finally admitted it. My thoughts went to Tyler. Will he ever notice? Because there is- oh wait, I already said that. “Aw! That’s so cute! Who knew my little cousin would ever have a crush!” Scarlett exclaimed. I looked at her with a weird look. “What’s so special about that?” I asked her confused. “Well, the first day you came here you sa-” She got cut off by a nudge at her ribs. She whimpered and shot dead glares at Ryan. “Don’t say that.” Ryan mouthed at her. She rolled her eyes and went to her room. “What was that about?” I asked. The three of them looked at each other and then back at me. “Well, we’ve got something to tell you. It isn’t a big secret but probably you forgot your promise.” My dad announced. I froze. Uh-oh what did I say. I hope I don’t regret it now. “You swore you’ll never fall in love or have a crush on someone.” I raised an eyebrow. “I did?” “Yeah, you don’t remember? After your parents kic-” I cut her off. “Don’t talk about my parents. Please I hate them so much. I love it here, you know that. Sorry I made that promise, but I have a crush on him. I’m sorry.” I apologized. Mum smiled sweetly at me. “It’s okay love. Sorry your dad started to talk about them. Promise or not, we’ll forget it okay?” She suggested. We nodded.
“Damien! We’re going to the mall! Care to go with us?” Ryan shouted. “Yeah sure. One minute!” I shouted back. I grabbed my wallet and phone. When I walked into the living room I started to walk slower. “What are you doing here?” I asked. “Well hello to you too Damien.” Tyler said sarcastic. I smiled. “Sorry, I’m just surprised.” I said, pulling him in a hug. “I know mate, but if you don’t mind. My parents are out of town for 4 days. They will return on Sunday evening. So me and Des will sleep over till then. You okay with that?” I nodded. “Why wouldn’t I be okay with it?” I asked confused. “Well, since you have a king size bed.. I will sleep with you in your bed.” He said carefully. My eyes widened slightly for a second and my heart started to beat faster. “Uhm, yeah. That’s fine by me.” I managed to say with the lump in my throat.
How will I survive these days without doing anything embarrassing?
