Chapter 14 ~
After dinner we practiced a little more before Jade and Darcy went back home. I was lying on my bed, reading a book. There was a knock on the door. I looked up and saw Tyler. “Hey man, what’s up?” I asked him. I saw him nod. “I’m fine. I needed some space from Scott so I thought you would like to play some games and that I could sleep over.” I nodded. “Sure, but we have school tomorrow. Are you sure?” “Yes, we’ll set up an alarm.” He said, already sitting down in front of the TV. “Ty, are you really alright?” I asked him again. This time I didn’t get an answer. “Ty?” I asked again really carefully. He shook his head. “No, I’m confused.” He said with his head in his hands. “Why are you confused? Is it about Scott?” I sat down next to him. He nodded. “We have been dating since a few weeks now and I really love him. But someone is making me doubt that love.” I looked at him confused. “Okay, now I’m confused. So you’re saying that you also like another boy or girl?” I asked him, making sense to myself. He nodded again. “Do I know him?” No reaction. “Does he go to our school?” Again, no reaction. “Tyler, why don’t you answer me? You know you can tell me everything.” He shook his head. “Never mind Damien, let’s just play some games okay?” He asked, faking a smile. I decided to let it drop for now. “Yeah sure, but I’m gonna kick your ass.” I challenged him. He smirked, real this time. “Oh hell you’re not.”
“Jade, Darcy and Damien. Go ahead.” said Mr. Cowell.

We got an applause from the teacher. “Really, I don’t know what you guys do every time, but you make the boring songs sound amazing.” We smiled to each other and we sat back to our seats. Tyler show me thumbs up while I was taking my seat. I smiled to him and mouthed ‘Thank you.’ “Just get together already.” Jade laughed. I glared at her. “I can’t. He has a boyfriend.” Jade rolled with her eyes. “Yeah right, every relationship can be broken.” I smiled at her. “I know, some day we will Jade, some day.” Hopefully…
“Okay, I need you to prepare 5 songs during your vacation. Also after the vacation we’ll start with the musical for your graduation point to pass this class.” I raised my hand. “Sir, do we need to sing the songs by our own?” He shook his head. “No, maximum 4 persons.” I nodded. “Okay class, the bell hasn’t ring yet but you’re dismissed.” When we stood up Tyler came walking towards us. “Hey, do you wanna catch a movie?” He said really quick looking incredibly nervous. I nodded slowly. “Yeah sure, are you alright?” He nodded. “Yeah, be at yours at 3.” And with that he almost ran away. “What was that?” Darcy asked. I shrugged. “I don’t know, he stayed the night but he acted so weird. I don’t know what’s up with him.” I said with a worried look. Is Scott beating him already? “Well you better go hurry. It’s already 2 pm.” Darcy said. “Yes, I should. Do we choose the songs together or do you guys want to sing just the 2 of you?” Jade looked at me in horror. “Off course we want to sing with you silly!” She exclaimed and hugged me. “Now, go enjoy your time with Tyler.” I smiled to her. “I will.” And with that I went home.
“There are 2 movies that begin at the same time. ‘Fast and the Furious 8’ and ‘Guardians of the galaxy vol. 2’ I prefer ‘Guardians of the galaxy vol. 2’ but if you want to watch ‘Fast and the Furious 8’ then that’s fine by me.” He said nervous again. What is up with him. “Does Scott know you’re here right now?” I asked him. He nodded too soon. “Yeah, of course he does. Why wouldn’t he?” I shrugged. “Just wondering. Let’s go to ‘Guardians of the galaxy vol. 2′” He just nodded.
When we arrived at cinema room there was only a loveseat available. His head turned like a tomato. Okay that’s it. “Tyler, what the hell is wrong with you?! You’ve been nervous around me like the past few days and you won’t tell me what’s bothering you. Ty, I’m you’re my best friend. Why are you so nervous around me?” He looked away and kept on walking. “No, you’re going to talk to me. Now. Or I’ll just walk away and wait until you stop acting so freaking nervous!” I almost screamed at him. He sighed. “It’s about Scott Damien. I am not even allowed here with you.” He said softly. “You were right about him. He said I couldn’t talk to you anymore. I told him you were my best friend and you would hate me if I begin to ignore you. He doesn’t know I’m here.” He said with tears in his eyes. “You warned me and I didn’t listen. He didn’t hit me yet. I’m afraid Damien.” Tears rolled down over his cheek. I stepped towards him and pulled him into a hug. “Why didn’t you tell me? Were you afraid that I’ll be mad at you?” I asked him. He didn’t say anything, but it was enough for me. “Did you really wanted to go to a movie with me or did you kind of ran away from Scott?” “Ran away.” He mumbled. I closed my eyes. Poor boy. I know exactly what he is going through. “You really love him don’t you?” He nodded. “I can’t help it y’know. Everything about him attracts me.” “I know the feeling.” I sighed. “Let’s just go home okay? I’ll text Ryan if Scott is at your place, if he is, we’ll go somewhere else.”
To Ryan:
Hey, a bit of a problem here. I’m pretty sure you’re home. Can you look outside the window and look if Scott is at Tyler’s? He has a black Audi.
“I texted him. it wouldn’t take long for hi-” I got cut off by a vibrating of my phone.
From Ryan:
He’s not here. It’s safe. I’ll make some hot chocolate.
“He’s not at your house, Ryan’s making some hot chocolate for us. Let’s go.” The ride home was quite. A bit awkward. I decided that it was better if I drove home, since Tyler was somewhere else with his mind. I was still wondering who that person was that he told me about. Was it a boy or a girl? Do I know them? So many questions, secretly I hope I’m the one he fancies, I know that would never happen but hey, a man can dream right. Tyler’s phone went off and he looked with horror at it. “It’s Scott” he mumbled. “H-hey love.” He answered the phone. When he said love my heart sank a little. “Where are you?” I heard Scott ask. Tyler looked at me in panic. “I-i..” He stuttered and I close my eyes for a second. Well that wasn’t a smart move. “You’re with him aren’t you?! How dare you! I kindly asked you not to and still you do! You’re a pathetic idiot! I’ll be there in a few minutes.” And with that he hang up. “What do I need to do Damien?” He cried. I started to drive faster. “We’ll be there sooner then he can and you’re sleeping at my place tonight.” He smiled a little and nodded. “Thank you.” I smiled. “Any time Ty.” And with that we arrived at my house. Much to my relieve I didn’t saw a black Audi. “Come on, quick.” I said as we rushed inside. I locked the door just in case. “How long have you been dating him?” Ryan asked as we walked into the kitchen. “Just a few weeks.” Tyler answered. “Hmm, that’s early.” Ryan said to me. I nodded. “Guess he became more jealous.” Ryan grabbed the hot chocolate and gave it to us. “Here, drink. You’ll feel much bet-” Ryan got cut off by a knock on the door. “Damien, open the door! I have to see Tyler!” We heard the voice of Scott. “Go upstairs.” Ryan said to us. “Go away Scott.” Ryan yelled. “Who the heck are you?! Where is Tyler?!” I heard him scream one last time before I closed my bedroom door behind me. “Turn off your phone, so he won’t be able to call or text you. I’ll turn mine off as well.” He nodded as he did what I told him to do. “I understand why you warned me Damien, I’m such an idiot.” I grabbed his hand, I must admit, doing that made my heart beat a lot faster. “Don’t say that, you’re not an idiot. You’re in love, that’s completely different. If you’re ready, you can move on. Just don’t contact him. You can stay the whole vacation here if you want. You’re safe here and he can’t touch you here.” I felt his heartbeat against my body as I hugged him. I didn’t think a heart could beat that fast. “Hey, calm down a bit. Everything is going to be okay.” I whispered in his ear. I felt him shiver. “Come on, let’s lay in bed for a second. Try to sleep, all the stress is away when you wake up. We cuddled up and I wrapped my hands around him. “Thank you.” I heard him whisper. “Any time mate.” To my surprise he fell asleep quickly. About twenty minutes later Ryan came to check on us. I was still awake, watching him sleep. He looked so peaceful. “How is he?” Ryan asked. “He’s asleep right now. I will wake him when dinner is ready. I’ll call his mother to let her know that he’s spending the night here.” I tried to go away without him waking up. “No, stay. I’m comfy.” He mumbled. I looked at Ryan and he nodded. “I’ll call his mother.” When Ryan close the door behind him I laid down next to Tyler. “Are you awake?” I felt him nod. “Sorry.” I mumbled. “Don’t be.” I heard him say. He looked up and for a moment we just looked at each other. Damn, I want to kiss him so badly. He closed the space between us and my heart started to beat faster. But all he does is fury his face against my neck. I closed my eyes as my heart sank a little. Off course not, why would he kiss me when he is in a relationship and this much of a mess.
I was still awake when Ryan come to tell us dinner was ready. “Tyler, dinner’s ready. Come on, wake up.” I shook him a little. His eyes fluttered open and I swear I saw a little smile. “Come on, dinner’s ready.” He nodded and got up “How do you feel?” I asked him while we were walking downstairs. “I’m fine.” He shrugged. “Hello Mrs. and Mr. Williams.” Tyler greeted my parents. “Hello Tyler, are you okay now?” Tyler nodded. “I’m fine, thanks to your cousin.” She smiled towards me. “I’m glad to hear.”
After dinner we played a couple of games before going to bed. “Thank you for helping me with this Damien. I don’t think I could do this on my own.” “We’ll get rid of him Ty, I promise.” I switched off the lights and we fell in a deep sleep.
