School.. I have to face Tyler again.. When I arrived at school I saw Darcy and Jade. They waved but I didn’t do anything back. They looked confused and walked towards me. “What’s wrong?” Darcy asked me. “No big deal.” I smiled sadly. “Let’s go to class or else we’ll be late.” I started to walk away but Jade stopped me. “No, we’re not going anywhere until you tell us what’s wrong with you.” She said sternly. “It’s Tyler. He has a boyfriend.” I said, starting to cry again. “Oh, I’m so sorry.” Jade said and gave me a hug. “You need to sing about this in class, it will make you feel better.” Darcy said, also giving me a hug. I nodded. “I guess I’ll try.”

This time I sang alone, without Darcy, Jade, Jasper or Jackson. I felt my cheeks get wet and I walked back to my seat. Jade patted my leg. “You’re gonna be okay Damien.” I smiled to her and took the napkin she handed me. “I’m always prepared.” She smiled, trying to cheer my up a bit. “Thank you.” I smiled. Someone tapped my shoulder. Jasper. “I guess you took someone’s attention. He has been looking at his lap since you finished the song. Have you two spoken?” He whispered. I shook my head. “No.. We didn’t. I’ve been avoiding him actually.” I gave him an apologetic look. “Just talk to him when you’re ready okay?” I nodded. I sighed. I didn’t want to lose him as a friend. The bell rang and I walked over to Tyler. “Hey, can I speak with you?” I asked him and he just nodded. When everyone left Mr. Cowell asked us to leave as well. “We want to practice.” I lied to him, he believed me because he left without saying anything.
“I’m sorry I ran away. I was just hurt. You knew a while that I was gay. Why didn’t you tell me that part? I understand that’s it’s hard to tell that you’re in love but I just..” I said to him. “You’re mad at me for that?” He asked in disbelief. “Yeah?” His face changed from concerned to relieved. That is confusing. “O my god. I thought you ran away because I had a boyfriend. That you were mad at me for that.” I snickered. “No you silly.” Lie. “I don’t mind you having a boyfriend.” Lie. “I’m happy for you.” Okay, that wasn’t a lie, I just wished it was me. He smiled and hugged me. “I’m so glad!” He exclaimed. “I’m meeting Scott after school, but I’ll be home by dinner. Can I come over then?” I nodded. “Sure and you’re gonna tell me everything about him okay?” He happily nodded and left. I waited until he left the room and broke down in tears. He was so happy. I couldn’t destroy that. We are just friends. Just friends. Nothing more. I heard someone enter the room. My head shot up. Jade and Darcy. They rushed over to me. “Oh love..” Jade said to me while giving me a hug. “It’s gonna be okay. What happened? What did he say?” Jade asked me. “He thought I ran away because he told me he had a boyfriend. I told him I didn’t, I told him I did because he didn’t trust me with the fact that he was also gay. Obviously that isn’t true but he believed me. He told me he was happy and his eyes literally were sparkling. He asked me if he could come over after he went to Scott. I agreed and told him I was curious about Scott.” I sobbed even more. I don’t know how long I stayed in Jade her arms. I didn’t care. I just wanted to cry.

I heard the bell rang downstairs. Tyler. I didn’t care to go to the door. Mum will open it. “Damien, you in there?” “Yeah, come in.” I replied. Tyler came in and sat down next to me on the bed. “Well, how was it?” I asked him, not really sure of I actually wanted to know. He smiled. “I know you don’t want to talk about it. You’re still a bit mad.” I looked confused. “No, I’m not. I really want to know.” I asked him again. This time more convincing. He still didn’t believe. “No, Damien. I have known you for 2 years now. I know you’re hiding something.” He said. Damn, what do I say now.. I can’t just say I like him. He has a boyfriend now for god sake. I am too late. I shook my head. “No, I can’t tell.” I said looking away. Before I could fully turn my face from him he grabbed my chin and made my head turn back. “Tell me.” He said sternly. I closed my eyes. I can’t. It will ruin our friendship.. There was a knock on the door. I opened my eyes and Ryan walked inside. “Oh, sorry. Am I interrupting something?” Ryan asked, standing in the hallway. “Yea-” Tyler started but I cut him off. “No. What is it?” I asked him and Tyler glared at me but I ignored it. “I was wondering if the two of you wanted to play on the playstation.” Ryan asked. “Yeah sure, come on.” I said, already walking towards it. “No thanks, I’m going home.” Tyler said and walked away. I turned on the playstation and Ryan turned it off again. I looked confused. “I thought you wanted to play?” He shook his head. “I saw Tyler walking towards your room so I listen on the other side of the door. You’re a pretty bad liar. I saved you.” He grinned. I smiled at him. “Thank you, but what do I do Ryan? He won’t just drop it.He’ll keep waiting for an answer.” I sighed. “I don’t know. Maybe you should tell him. When he tells you that it will never work out or something, you know you just have to forget him.” Ryan suggested. “You know I can’t, not within just weeks. I like him too much.” This time is was Ryan’s turn to sigh.

I walked into to school when I saw Tyler. I sighed. Ugh, why does he have to be so beautiful. It would’ve made things a lot easier if he wasn’t. I smiled to myself. I doesn’t matter, how can someone not love Tyler. He’s amazing. I saw him walking towards me. I didn’t walk away, I still want to be his friend. “Hey.” He greeted me. I smiled. “Hey, sorry abou-” he cut me off. “No, I need to be the one who needs to say sorry. I pushed you too far. When I told you I’m not ready to tell you a secret, you accepted it and waited. I didn’t want to upset you.” When he finished he looked to the ground. “You can walk away now and never speak to me. I am a horrible friend.” I looked at him and without thinking I gave him a hug. I felt him hugging me back. I smiled until…
