The boy with noticeable brown shiny hair, blue crystal eyes, full lips and uncountable number of freckles in his nose walked in a fast pace with his hands comfortably sitting on the pockets of his light blue letterman jacket.

His mind was averted from his previous thoughts that wondered in his mind as his ears flooded with whispering and chattering.

The shiny brown haired boy was used to this type of behaviour from the people at Liberty High School, especially after the events that took place in that school that would mark the school’s history forever, including the people involved.

Chad felt a shiver go up his spine at the mention of the name ‘Hannah Baker’ which somehow affected the boy.

Hannah Baker was a student at Liberty High School for a long time, she had committed suicide a few weeks ago for unknown reasons.

Beaumont had his theories that kept him awake at night on the reasons that could have driven Hannah to commit suicide, in which he hoped was just him overthinking the problem.

The shiver Chad felt soon disappeared after hitting the hotter temperature inside the Liberty high school.

He looked at the walls, noticing a few differences since he last stepped foot inside the Liberty.

SUICIDE IS NEVER AN OPTION”

The big letters stated, Chad let out a scoff as his mind counted every single cussing word possible, from ‘cunt to jackass’.

Chad thought it was a stupid idea to put those posters up since the damage was already done, he was scared to say anything about it since he didn’t want to seem that he cared.

But he did.

He felt a warm feeling after hearing the familiar voice coming from the mouth from a boy, 5’11, brown hair with a lighter shade of brown then Chad’s tome of hair, blue eyes just like his and an adorable smile.

A boy in which Chad admired and grew fond of.

He had to since that boy was Justin Foley, Chad’s childhood best friend whom he grew up with.

Next to Chad’s best friend stood a frowning Jessica Davies, Justin’s current girlfriend who had a pretty good relationship with Chad. The pair seemed to be in a heating conversation.

Chad approached the pair, who grabbed their attention by greeting them.

“Good morning.” Chad spoke with a forced smile. There was not a lot of people who had a genuine smile on School that week.

“Sup Beaumont.” Spoke Foley with his usual annoying mention of Chad’s last name but it was his thing as he usually referred to people as their last names.

“Hi Chad.” Spoke Jessica with a what seemed to be a genuine smile. She approached the boy with the shiny hair and unbuttoned the button closest to my collar, leaving me with more skin to show.

“There you go.” Jessica spoke with a smirk as Justin’s jealousy peaked up, looking between the two.

“Ready to go to class?” Justin spoke while rolling his eyes, almost gagging at the thought of having to go to class while he could stay and hang out with his friends.

Chad and Jessica broke from their conversation so that they could walk with Justin to their next class, English.

They walked in a line talking about their weekend and how shitty it actually it was.

No one mentioned Hannah Baker’s name and for that Chad was extremely relieved.

“I have to speak with you guys after class, outside in one of the tables.” Jessica spoke as more of a whisper to both of them before they all entered class.

I came face to face with a lot of my friends such as Zach Dempsie a tall boy with raven coloured hair, Bryce Walker a boy with dark blonde hair and a larger face who Chad thought was sweet for being sweet to him.

There also was Sheri Holland who smiled at him with a welcoming and warm smile, probably the kindest person at that school, Chad thought.

Then there was Clay Jensen, a boy with crystal blue eyes and brown hair who sat in the corner staring at the middle of his table seeming to be in deep thought.

Chad felt sympathy for the boy as he had come to know how important he was to Hannah.

He took a seat in the far middle spot and sat down next to Tyler. A weird boy that always had a camera in his hand.

Chad took his book out along with a pencil and inhaled softly smelling a flower fragrance that was put in the classroom by the teacher every morning.

It wasn’t really useful since it was almost always gone by midday due to the sweaty boys and girl that stood in that classroom, sucking the nice fragrance away and replacing it with smelly breath and sweat.

The teacher was soon inside the room already barking orders at the students as the boy with the shiny hair silently prayed for the hour to quickly pass by.

After someone finally heard Chad’s silent screams for help, the class finally ended. Chad stood outside the class, hearing the noise chattering and footsteps on the corridors as they walked to their next lesson.

Thankfully Chad had a free lesson next so he waited for Jessica and Justin so that Jessica could tell them what she had been hiding for a long time.

Chad out of nowhere felt a fresh air against his body as if someone had just passed him really close by and felt a hand grabbing his own and pulling him along with a girl with brown wavy hair and with a darker skin tone.

It was Justin and Jessica who had finally walked out of the classroom and wasted no time before grabbing Chad’s hand and pulling him along to the outside area leaving Chad out of breath as he sat down in one of the chairs and rested his hands in top of the wooden table in front of the trio.

“Okay, damn.” Chad spoke, still out of breath.

“Stop being such a pussy.” Justin spoke, as Chad felt something turn inside him but couldn’t give a name to it.

“Justin Foley and his usual level of honesty.” Chad spoke finally getting the control back of his breath. “Can we just start this meeting?”

Justin and Jessica’s eyes wondered around the school site, looking for someone.

“We can’t. We have to wait for Alex.” Jessica said, her eyes still moving rapidly to every corner possible.

Finally, a pale boy with a rare buzz cut blonde hair, slimy figure appeared out of the shadows and walked towards us with his face looking down at the floor.

Alex finally arrived and sat down at the opposite of Chad, not making any eye contact.

Chad found it weird since he remembered Alex as being a radiant adolescent but decided to keep it to himself.

The tension in the air was awkward, this being because of Alex and Jessica’s past relationship which ended in a rather bad note some would say.

Chad thought that it actually ended pretty well, better then some, since they still talk the basic.

Some pretend the other doesn’t exist. Chad thought and smiled to himself, glad that they were still talking to each other after the break up.

“So, we are here gathered today?” Alex spoke with no enthusiasm in his voice but full of sarcasm.

“Well, me and Justin received something – weird last week.” Jessica spoke, her voice trembling. “Tapes.” Jessica added, still trembling, showing it to be a hard subject for the girl.

Justin stood next to the wooden table with his arms crossed hearing the conversation.

“From Hannah?” Alex spoke up finally making eye contact with the girl with brown, wavy hair but quickly regretting it, those eyes brought memories to Alex, he looked back to his hands.

Chad looked at the other three confused, not having a clue about what was going on but felt anxious at the mention of Hannah’s name.

“You got it too?” Justin finally spoke up unlacing his arms and placing them on top of the wooden table with a hard grip as he looked intensely at the blonde.

“Yeah, five days ago, I listened to it twice.” The blonde said before making eye contact with Chad, before quickly turning away, scratching the back of his head not wanting to warn the boy that Chad himself was in those tapes.

“I’m confused.” Chad spoke, this time in a irritated tone of voice, silence fell over the quatro.

“We thought -” Jessica spoke with a calmer voice looking intently at the boy with the shiny hair.

“Shh.” Justin hushed the girl with the darker skin tone and all three of them looked at Justin who was glaring at somewhere else.

Chad followed his best friend’s glare to see a short student who he had seen around the camp a lot, he was built, tanned skin tone, built with dark black hair who was wearing jeans and a black leather jacket who was looking intently at the group.

After noticing that the group of four was looking at him, the short boy looked at the floor before walking to another direction.

“Fucking Tony.” Justin spoke with rage in his voice.

Tony Padilla was a year above Chad, Justin, Jessica and Alex. He was known for being close with Hannah.

Chad was glad that Hannah had a true friend like Tony, since when he tried to do it himself, it ended in tragedy.

“Come, lets get out of here. Lesson will start in a few minutes anyway.” Chad spoke grabbing his brown bag and standing up.

Walking away to his next class followed by Alex, Jessica and Justin.

The day was finally ending as the day got darker, Chad was now able to go home, sit down and relax. Not thinking about his problems.

Even though he had some amount of homework to do. He was glad to be finally home after a stressed day.

Chad couldn’t help but think about what Jessica, Justin and Alex were talking about.

What does Hannah have to do with some tapes?

The question came up a lot in the shiny haired boy’s mind, almost not even noticing the song that was going from his phone, up through his headphones and to his ears.

Once finally approaching a familiar house, he took out his headphones and placed them in his jean pockets.

He spotted something in front of his front door, something in a rectangular shape.

He slowly approached it, almost as if there was a possibility of there being a bomb inside it.

He picked it up and looked around for any note.

The only thing he found was his name at the front of the little package, he found that to be quite scary.

He entered his deserted house, since both his parents were at work.

He walked to the kitchen after closing and locking the front door. His mind not leaving the small package.

He grabbed a knife and carefully slit open the package.

He revealed what was inside the package to be a set of tapes, each with one number.

Tapes…
