Jacobs POV:
He thinks I can’t see him watching me? Ha! I can see him through the corner of my eye and Craig seems to be talking to him, he doesn’t seem to be paying much attention though. Anyways Shay’s oblivious to the fact that I’ve noticed her stare down with Mr.TrendyRay over there.
There practically eye fucking each other, like damn talk already!
“Yo Shay!” Ray called across the cafeteria, gaining some unwanted attention; mainly just glares from the school sluts.
Shay looked around and pointed a finger at herself. “Me?”
This Girl…(SMH)
“Who the fuck else is called Rashay round here?” She responds to my question by trying to think of any other Rashay’s.
“Girl stop being stupid and go see what he wants!” Im too excited right now. Finally, no more eye fucking from across the room!
She stands up ready to head to the jocks table. “But only if you come with me Jake, oooh and look theres Santo!”
“I know Santo is there. Have you only just noticed? You were looking in that direction for long enough.” I scoff and she turns kind of red.
“I was…” I’ll save her from mustering up a lie shall i?
“You was just too busy undressing Ray over there, with your eyes. And the reason you didn’t see santo was because you were blinded by all that hair of his.” I finished my little statement with a chuckle.
“Who’s hair?” I turned around so quick, I coulda got whiplash. There before us stood the all famous Ray2wice as he likes to call himself.
I was about to say something but Shay put her hand over my mouth.
“Nothing, no-one it was no-one, did you need something?” She finished her sentence in a hurry, too quickly if you ask me. Way to make it obvious Shay…
Ray nervously shifted about and scratched his neck. “Well I was wondering if you and Jacob?… It’s Jacob isn’t it?” I gave him a nod and a smile.
“Well anyway I was wondering if you two would like to sit with us?…”
I looked at Shay in worry… Me sitting next to my crush of all time would be so nerve racking… Oh god what happened to the Jacob this morning in chemistry? I looked back at Ray’s table to find Santo’s beautiful brown orbs staring straight back at me. It was as if he was searching for answers or something. I quickly broke our gaze beginning to feel uncomfortable and turned my eyes back to Ray.
“Sure me and Jake would love to sit with you.” Ugh, really Shay? REALLY!? I guess i’ll just have to suffer then. She removed her hand from my mouth and headed to the Jocks table. With me not far behind her. Shay sat down next to Ray so the only place for me to sit was next to Santo, coz it looks like the seat next to Craig was taken by his girlfriend Jasmine. Who I actually seem to like. I sit down next to Santo and I can feel my cheeks getting hot, I can also feel his strong stare boring a hole through my face.
“So…Shay um I’ve been meaning to ask you…” Aaaw look at ‘Mr.Trendy’ acting all nervous.
“Yeah…?” Gosh I wish Shay would cut the shy act, ain’t nobody got time for that.
“When did you get a tattoo and all the piercings?” He asked gaining a little confidence.
“Um I got them with Jacob yesterday, Jacobs got one as well, a sleeve actually.” Ugh why does she have to have such a big mouth, I’m starting to think the shy Shay is better. I shoot her a warning glare.
“Haha, sorry Jake, but show them…Come on. For me?” She gave me her puppy eyes and she knew I couldn’t resist.
“Fine.” With a grumble I began to take of my leather jacket. That I did in fact purchase from HotTopic. What? I just couldn’t help myself. Anyway so I took my jacket off and was left with my cross printed short sleeved T-Shirt. I looked around the table to see their reactions.
“Wow!” Ray exclaimed. “Look at that detail! Who drew that?”
“Um me?” I am really confused as to why people are so surprised about this.
“Damn! Sexy and talented.” I heard someone whisper only loud enough for me to hear. I looked to my right where Santo was sitting and he looked back at me with wide eyes and turned a lovely crimson colour. I looked away and directed my attention to Shay. Keep calm Jake…
“Shay we need to go, I just remembered we need to go and see Mrs.Downing before lunch ends.” Mrs.downing is our drama teacher, but we don’t really need to see her. I just need a legit excuse to get out of here before I start acting like I’m on happy pills.
“Um…ok?” She gives me a questioning look and gets up from the table along with me.”Well I guess we’ll see you later?” She asked Obviously directing the question to Ray.
“Yeah sure, nice to finally talk to you.” Haha notice the stress on the word talk. Yeah, instead of trying to telepathically remove each others clothes from afar.
“Come on!” I dragged Shay out of the cafeteria while she looked back at Ray with an almost sickly sweet look, yuck… When we were out of anyones site I started jumping up and down.
“What’s up with with you?” Shay probably thought i’d finally gone mad.
After a few minutes, I calmed down and paced my breathing.
“Right…ok. So when I was showing everyone my tattoo I heard Santo calling me ‘sexy and talented’. I didn’t wanna do a victory dance in the middle of the lunch room, so I dragged you out here.” After I had finished rambling Shay held my hands and looked me in the eyes.
“OH MY GOSH!” She practically screamed.
“Shhh,shh. I KNOW RIGHT!? I had to take a double take, you shoulda seen his face Shay, it was bright red!” Me and Shay got busy laughing our asses off.
“JACOB!” I stopped laughing and turned around looking for the voice that had called my name, Santo came running down the hall.
“Jacob!” He stops in front of me and Shay and nods his said at Shay to say hello. He looks back at me.
“So your gonna be at Shay’s party right?” He said it not braking eye contacted, I’m surprised I found the words to reply.
“Well yea, of course, Shay’s my best friend and the host of the party.”
“Right, ok…well see you there.” With that he turned around to walk away, but I stopped him quickly by grabbing onto his upper arm.
“Wait!” Wow, those biceps!… Anywhore. He looked from my hand on his arm to my face. My cheeks heating up as he did so.
“Yes Jacob?” Right get yourself together Jacob. Not a wallflower, Not a wallflower…
“Well I was wondering if that’s all you came over to do, ask me if I was going to Shay’s?” Santo smiled and pulled me closer by my hand that I didn’t notice was still gripping onto him. When his face was centimetres away from mine. He said…
“Actually I almost forgot…could I get your number?” My breath hitched and I almost lost balance, this isn’t happening. I closed my eyes for a second and opened them, only to be in the same position with Santo as before. He looked at me all amused. I was too busy looking into his eyes when all of a sudden LoudMouth ruins the silence.
“Jake!?” I turn to Shay, who also seems to have an amused look on her face.
“Huh?”
“He asked for your number.”
“Oh right uh…hold on a sec…um could you uh let go? I asked Santo shyly. “Not that I didn’t like the position.” I mumbled.
Santo slowly let go and whispered in my ear. “I heard that.”
*cough cough* “Shay have you got a pen?” Shay handed me a pen and I gently grabbed Santo’s hand. I wrote my number on his palm and let go.
“Theres my number.” I said looking at him dead in the eyes.
“Thanks, i’ll call you.” And with that he was off.
Shay and I looked at each other once he was out of sight.
“OH MY GOSH!” We both said at the same time so it was kinda creepy and we ended up laughing till we hear Shay’s worst nightmare. The bell… Dance class is next and she hates dance. Its not that she isn’t a good dancer she’s just never had the support of her parents. I guess its time to head to class…
