“Shirou.” A voice broke through my comfortable sleep, and a hand was shaking me lightly. Tiredly I cracked my eyes open. It felt like I’d only slept for ten minutes. It was still dark out, too. “Hey, wake up.” The voice said quietly but sternly.
“What? Why?” I tried to move and get comfortable again but whoever it was unzipped my sleeping bag and pulled it away from me.
“Just come on.” I suddenly realized it was Kizumi who was talking to me. I sat up slowly, extremely tired. He took my hand and stood me up, leading me through the maze of people on the floor. Somehow we managed to avoid stepping on anyone or waking anyone up. We stood in the hallway and he had a grin on his face. Despite being so tired, my heart fluttered at his expression.
“What are we doing?” I asked him. He tossed me a pair of swimming shorts as he walked down the hall.
“Kizumi, are you serious? It’s too cold to swim this late at night.” I said. He shook his head at me and laughed.
“Just come on.” He was already in his swimming shorts, but I hadn’t realized it until just now. I stared at his body from behind, blushing a little bit as I observed his back muscles carefully. I was like a little kid sometimes getting flustered over his body so easily. He brought me into the pool room, but instead of jumping into the pool…he walked up to the hot tub room door.
“Kizumi it’s locked. We can’t even get in th-” I stopped short as he turned to face me. He held his hands up jingling a couple of keys. His expression was terribly evil, and proud. My eyes widened.
“Where did you even get those?” I asked him, panicking.
“From the front room. They didn’t even try to hide them. They were just on the key rack with the rest.” He said and unlocked the door.
“We could get into trouble.” I took his hand trying to stop him.
“Shirou, trouble isn’t anything new to me.” He laughed. He was right…he did used to get in a lot of trouble before he met me. The thing was, I didn’t want to get in trouble. He read my expression and shook his head.
“Don’t worry so much.” The look in his eyes was exciting me, honestly. I’d never been a trouble maker, but Kizumi was a professional at it. I kind of liked it, though I couldn’t admit that out loud. With a nervous sigh I entered the room and he shut the door behind us, locking it from the inside so nobody would barge in. It was a little dark in here, but then Kizumi turned on the lights in the hot tub. They were bright enough for us to be able to see around the room, but not so bright that anyone would notice from the outside.
He took zero time getting into the warm water and sinking down to his neck. The look of relaxation on his face encouraged me to hurry and get my own clothes on. I quickly switch clothes and then jogged over to the steps. I stuck my foot in and gladly welcomed the warmth. I felt my muscles relax as I stepped in further, finally getting my whole body under the water. It was so warm that I never wanted to leave.
“I wish we could turn on the jets.” Kizumi sighed and sat up. We couldn’t though, because they would most likely be extremely loud. The last thing we wanted was to get caught. I moved over to Kizumi and was about to sit next to him, but he took my waist and pulled me onto his lap so quickly I almost didn’t realize what was going on. I faced him, straddling his lap. My cheeks tinged pink as he smirked at me. I felt his arms snake around me and he simply leaned onto my chest, just holding me. I laughed after a moment. This was a side of him I liked seeing. He was so cute and sensitive sometimes.
“What?” He pulled away a little.
“Nothing, really.” I chuckled again and leaned down to kiss him. Our lips entangled for a moment before he pulled away and just squeezed me tightly again. I sensed something was wrong this time and said, “Kizumi? Are you alright?”
“I just don’t want to let go of you.” He tried to make it sound like nothing was wrong, but I knew what was the matter. It would take time for Kizumi to recover from the whole mess with Yuji. He’d gone through hell, basically. I was the first person to ever love him like I did, probably. Losing me to someone else probably scarred him a bit. I was sure both him and Yuji were hurting pretty badly. As he hugged me I took a cautious breath and said something to him that he probably wouldn’t like.
“Kizumi…I think you need to let me sit with Yuji tomorrow.” He pulled apart from me in a split second and gave me a hard look.
“Why? Is it going to kill him if he doesn’t?” He sounded angry.
“Is it going to kill you if he does?” I retorted. He stared at me with furrowed brows, annoyed that I threw his words back at him. I wasn’t saying this to be mean, or to make him upset…but I wanted Kizumi to build some level of trust with Yuji. He needed to start letting little things like this happen so he could see that Yuji was done.
“Kizumi.” I took his face. “You two will never move on if you keep this up. How do you expect to trust him if you never give him a chance to show you?”
“I just…I don’t know.” He sighed leaning back. I took his hands in mine and smiled.
“I chose you, Kizumi. I’ve never looked away, either. If you can’t trust him, then you need to trust me. Just let him sit with me tomorrow. We’re still friends, you know. Even if you don’t like him I can’t just abandon our friendship.”
“I know that…” He leaned his head back, annoyed. “…fine.”
“It won’t be bad, you’ll see.” I smiled.
“I have one condition, though.” He suddenly said, opening his eyes.
“What is it?” I waited, unsure of what he could possibly want. He didn’t say a single word, but instead just pulled me closer and began to kiss me hard. I realized what he wanted in a heartbeat and pulled away.
“You want to do that here? Now?” I was fighting the smile forcing its way across my face. He was crazy. The door might have been locked but it still was a bad idea.
“That’s my only condition.” he said stubbornly. The look in his eyes was urgent, like he needed me right that second. I laughed at his desperate expression and gave him a simple kiss.
“You’re going to get us in trouble…” I said.
“You better be quiet then.” He smiled at me dangerously. Even though he hardly got in trouble anymore at school, Kizumi really was a troublemaker deep down, and at times like these…I liked that.
