Allister’s POV
DING-DONG!
It was the doorbell. GAH! He must be here.
Tonight is the night! I never panicked like this in my life! I’m even wearing a tie for crying out loud.
My heart won’t stop thumping. It’s like it’s gonna pop out of my chest.
I walked to the door and grab a hold on the knob, then there goes another ring of the doorbell. I quickly remove my hand on the knob and cussed. “Fuck!”
I grab a hold of it again and turned the knob, revealing the other person who kept buzzing.
I clasped my chest and sighed. “Oh God, I thought it was Vincent. What do you want Jess? Geez” I groaned, letting her in.
“Can’t a girl see her gay best friend before he totally humiliate himself in front of the love of his life?” She sang without a single bit of care. She’s that blunt or rude, it depends on which side you are on.
That’s typical Jess when she’s in a good mood. She’s blunt and straight-forward. She likes to be sarcastic, or she is sarcastic, most of the time. She’s funny like that. That’s why I love her. She was my friend from college and from then on we’ve been like brothers and sisters. She met Vincent before and damn sure that she was gonna jump him and hump him if I wasn’t in the room. Did I mention she’s a pervert? She had placed some nasty stuff in my brain that I can’t erase.
“Thanks for being supportive. I really appreciate it.” I rolled my eyes and closed the door.
She made herself at home and sat on the couch. “That’s why I’m here. I’m here to make you feel relaxed and comfortable when you’re with him.” She chimed while having that devious smile on her lips.
“Oh no!” I shook my head and wave my hands at her. “The last time you made me feel that way, I got an intense tightening in the pants. No way are you putting back those images of me and Vincent doing it!” I pointed out. I felt that sensation again as the pictures flashed in my head. I groaned as I held my head between my hands. “UGH!! Make it stop!”
She laughed.
“You are not helping!”
“What do you want me to do? Jerk you off? Sorry I don’t do gay action.” She quipped.
“Ew!” I screeched in disgust, but it did help me out of my little situation.
“Okay we need to get serious now.” She turned to face me as I straightened myself before sitting beside here. “First, get me some cookies. I’m starving.”
“You could’ve said that before I sat down.” I complained but still obeyed.
As I got back with my cookie jar, she bounced at her seat like a little girl. “Here!” I handed her the jar. “Then what?” I asked her to continue.
She opened the jar and grabbed a cookie and bit on it. She moaned with pleasure. “Second is that you should act normal, which I think is the hardest part.”
“Why? I can act normal.” My voice was shaking because of the tension I was feeling.
“See, dead giveaway.” She continued to eat the cookies as if they were popcorn and I was the movie. “The thing is you are so excited about this quote unquote date of yours.” She made air quotations with her free hand.
“Fuck! You got me, officer!” I threw my hands in the air and rolled my eyes. “Not only that I’m excited, I’m a hot mess! I’m excited, nervous, and I think I’m gonna throw up.” I paced around in circles. “What am I going to do?” I was biting my nails, again.
“Stop biting your nails you buffon! Would like him to hold your hands coated with dry spit?” She snarled as I stopped and shook my head. “Then stop chomping on your nails and start using this weakness of yours as strength in this game.” She stated as she placed the jar on the table and stood up. She straightened her very tight dress, which compliments her chest, before walking to where I was.
I gave her a confused look. What the fudge brownies is she talking about?
“Look, if you are pretending to be his boyfriend better take this chance to do whatever you wanted to do, and tell him that its part of the act. Not only that you will perform well, but…” She moved closer to my ear and whispered. “You’ll get to enjoy it.” She moved away and gave me a sly wink.
“You are a very evil woman!” I squinted my eyes and looked at her intently. “But that is why I love you!” I cheered as I quickly placed my arms around her and hugged her tightly.
She patted my back. “Alright, alright… “ She said as we broke our body contact. And on cue, the doorbell rang again. “That must be him, go get him Kitty Girl!” I rolled my eyes at her before going to the door. “I’ll just wait for you here when you get home, I want full details.” I can feel her smirking. But I didn’t care, it’s nice to come home knowing that someone is waiting for you. Aww!
I opened it and the most dashing fellow greeted me in his black suit and baby blue dress shirt paired with his black pants and black leather shoes. I involuntarily gaped at the marvel that I saw.
“Uh, ready to go?” He asked, a little baffled at my expression.
I quickly gather myself together. “Uh, yup.” I answered shortly.
“Then let’s go.” He beamed at me, easing up the tension in my body.
But his next move wasn’t in the list of my expectations. He offered his hand out. Oh my gooooooooosh! Don’t blush… Please don’t blush! Aww fuck!
“Why are you blushing?” He chuckled, oblivious to the fact that I like him. “Aw shit, sorry, was that too much? Gah! I’ve watched too many chick flicks.” He face-palmed himself and withdrew his hand.
I shook my head and grabbed his arm. “Thank God, you are naïve.” I whispered to myself.
So we got out of my apartment and got to his car, scratch that. We got out, hand in hand, and rode the limo waiting for us downstairs.
As we opened the car door, Vanessa shrieked and grabbed my hand pulling me inside the limo, making me drag Vincent inside.
“I can’t wait to see the face on that brat’s face!” She was thrilled and filled with excitement as she shook my body.
“I can see that.” I held my head as soon as she stopped.
“I’m sorry, but I really can’t wait for her face to get ruined by that expensive makeup she is wearing as it runs down her face along with her tears!” She laughed maniacally, way far from her elegant look for tonight.
“As much as I don’t like her that is pretty evil, don’t you think?” Vincent asked.
“Vinny, being forced to marry somebody you’re not in love with, that is evil. While this is just a tinsy tiny little dog poop you step on the park.” She explained in creepily calm manner.
He sighed, while I chuckled. She then reminded us what we needed to do tonight. And after a trip filled with a constant reminder on how we should act and how we should be convincing, we arrived at Gallant, the snotty rich people’s restaurant in the heart of the Ashton.
“You two better pull this off or else we are back to square one.” She said as we got out of the car and I escorted Van out before walking hand in hand with Vincent.
“Your hands are cold.” I pointed out.
“I know. Hope we can do this.” He nervously said, his hands slightly shaking.
I kept in mind everything of what Jess said. “Vince, look at me.” I told him, and he did. His eyes were pools of blue. “We can do this, just relax and follow my lead.”
“Okay, thanks Alli.” A small smile formed on his lips.
“Reservation for 4, under the name Salvatore.” Vanessa told the waiter and escorted us to our table, and there I saw a beautiful blonde girl. She is damn beautiful for a gay guy like me to say that. She wore a pink dress and had her hair tied neatly. She was smiling at us. But as we got closer, her smile turned in to a frown of disgust, which only means she saw our hands entwined.
“Hey Amanda!” Vanessa greeted her with cheek bump. I’m not sure what it’s called, but it’s like a fist bump, but with cheeks that girls used to greet each other. Maybe it’s some kind of code.
“Uhh…” Amanda was stunned, which only means it worked because her eyes were locked on our hands.
“Oh, This is my brother Vincent, of course you know him.” She snorted. And the she pointed to me. “And this is Allister, my brother’s boyfriend.” She cooed.
“Boyfriend? But… but Vincent and I are kind of engaged, right? My dad already scheduled the engagement party next week.” She said, still perplexed about the situation.
“Why don’t we sit down first before talking about this?” I offered as they all nodded. I sat beside Vincent, while the two girls sat together. Vincent was facing Amanda and I was facing his sister. We ordered our food and she opened the topic again as the waiter left. I let go of his hand.
Vincent then looked at me before placing his hand on the table, slightly pounding the table. Was he disappointed I let go of his hand?
“So, the engagement is in a week…” She said as her hand slithered its way to Vincent’s hand.
He coughed as he moved his hand away, making the poor girl pout.
“So?” I irked. Time to irritate the heck out of her.
“So Kurt Hummel, stop latching on my fiancé’s arm.” She spat.
Oh! Feisty! I’m going to like this!
“Look here princess, Vincent and I are doing fine, until you come rocking our boat. So tell daddy that the wedding is off.” I mocked.
“Oh no it’s not! It’s your Liberachi ass that can kiss your relationship goodbye.”
“Not because you are rich and pretty, you can already get what you want. How about you buy yourself a heart to know how it feels to get your feelings hurt. And not talking about those petty tears you shed when your daddy doesn’t buy you your shoes. I’m talking about legit human feelings.” I snapped at her, unaware where the heck did I get the guts to bite her head off.
She gaped at me, clearly offended. “Why you gay bitch! I have legit feelings! And I love Vincent and we are going to get married.” She was screaming and by the looks of it we have all eyes on us.
“Don’t I have a say in this?” Vincent intervened, not looking at any of us. He was staring at the table like it was art.
“Please do say that you agree with me. Our dad’s already made a deal, and you what it will cost you if you disagree.” She smiled devilishly.
“I want out.” He said, his eyes still glued at the table.
“HA! See I told you he’ll pick me!” She pointed at me and stuck her tongue out. Vanessa and I looked at him worriedly. Speaking of Van, she seemed to be enjoying our little show, a while ago.
Is he backing out of the plan? Fuck no!
“I’m calling the wedding off.” He looked up to face Amanda. This made Van and I sigh.
Amanda gasped. “No! I don’t believe you! This is not true!” She ranted.
“It is. You see, Alli and I are so in love with each other.” He turned to smile at me, making me smile in return and blushing. He then grabbed my hand and caressed it with his thumb.
“No! You just planned this to call the wedding off!” She accused us.
I so want to bitch slap this girl.
My smile faded as I huffed before facing her. “Okay, so what do you want as proof? My gaping asshole or a ton of our pictures together? Your choice, brat.”
Vanessa chuckled.
“Kiss. I want you guys to kiss. Passionately.” She smirked.
Fuck! This wasn’t in the contract. Fuck there was no contract! But this night keeps on getting better. I need to give him some time to be ready.
“Come on, a french kiss? Is that the best you got?” I taunted her. Vincent tightened his grip on my hand, signalling me to stop.
“We’ll do it. It’s just a kiss anyway.” He nonchalantly said.
Damn, his confidence is too sexy.
We faced each other as I bit my lips and licked it wet. We got close to each other and I can hear Vanessa’s gasps. “Follow my lead.” He whispered right before our lips collided.
My eyes widened at the sudden impact. But as we go along, I feel his soft lips massaging mine. His tongue slowly slithered its way into my mouth and I let it enter willingly. Our tongues fought fiercely. My body began to heat up. I took a glance at the two girls. Van was clearly holding in her giggles and the Blonde spawn of the devil was staring at us, not even wanting to blink. As I felt comfortable kissing him and my hand tracing the edge of his jaw, he pulled back.
I smiled at the feeling it gave me. I looked at him and there was a smirk on his lips. Did he like it? Was I a good kisser? Hot damn! There’s a tent in my pants! I used the table cloth to hide the tension in my pants.
“Still not buying it.” She snorted. “But that was fun to watch! Anyway, I’m not hungry anymore.” She got up her chair. “Let’s meet again on Monday, I’ll bring my brother with me, let’s make it a real double date, shall we?” She smirked arrogantly, grabbed her purse, and walked off without waiting for our reply.
What did she meant by that?
She left us stunned and speechless. I don’t know why, but neither of us wanted to speak.
“Thank God, she’s gone!” Vanessa exclaimed. She then looked at us.
Vince and I were still silent. Not sure if he regrets it or he was relieved.
“Hello! Earth to you guys! Time to celebrate.” She said waving her hands at our faces.
“I’m not in the mood anymore, pay the bill and we’ll just go.” Vince blankly stated as he stood up and got out the restaurant.
“What crawled up his ass and died?” She asked me, sharing the same confusion.
“I don’t know.” I answered.
“But I do have a question…” She said as she called the waiter for our bill.
“What?”
“How was the kiss? I can say it was fucking believable.” She grinned.
“To tell you the truth and probably come out to you, it was great, but he left me hanging.” I replied as my mind drifted into the flashbacks of our kiss.
“I knew it! I knew you are gay for my brother! I’m so helping you out on this one! I’m happy you finally admitted it.” She shrilled in tone only the two of us can hear.
“Thanks. But please be gentle on him, I don’t think he’s ready to know.” I warned her.
“Of course my gay compadre! I’ll let you tell him. Just don’t wait too long.” She smiled at me as she drank a glass of champagne. Since when did we order champagne?
–
After we have paid, we got out the restaurant and got inside the limo, where Vince was waiting.
“What took you guys so long?” He grumpily asked.
The said limo drove out the front of the restaurant and made its way into the busy city. People walking around with their friends, enjoying the Friday night and some held hands with their significant other. I mentally sighed. How long will I wait to be with someone?
“The waiter took forever to give us our bill.” Van lied. Actually we ended up chatting about how I fell in love with his brother and had a few share of champagne.
He shrugged it off.
What made him this grumpy?
“Hey, Vince, are you okay?” I asked.
“Yeah, sure, whatever.” He quickly replied.
“Do you want me to whip you up some brownies?” I offered, trying to lighten up his sudden dark mood.
“Am I not a good kisser?” I was taken aback by his question.
“Uhmm.” I replied like a seal.
“You don’t have to answer that.” He turned himself back into facing the window.
“If that’s bothering you, no… you’re a great kisser. No homo.” I told him the truth, except for the ‘No homo’ part.
“Really? Then why was she not convinced? I thought that would work?” He said, a little puzzled. I stared at him, thinking of an answer.
“She believed it, but she was in denial. A girl like her won’t back down easily without a fight. I’ve underestimated her.” Vanessa saved my ass. “And I could feel that she already has a plan. Watch your backs on that next date.” She warned.
He nodded in reply to his sister. “So is the offer still up?” He turned to ask me about my brownie offer. His mood suddenly shifted.
“Sure I can make a quick batch. How about you Van?” I smiled at them.
“I’ll pass, I need some meat. I’ll drop you guys off at your house and I’ll get myself some drive-thru.” She beamed at us.
“More for me then.” Vincent chuckled.
–
Minutes later we arrived at my house. Vincent and I got down the limo and went up to my unit.
“Jess is probably here, waiting for my return.” I told him and he just nodded. He knows Jess and he knows that she has the hots for him. “Don’t worry I’ll try to hold her back so you could run.” I joked.
He sighed in relief as I turned the handle. The T.V. was still on but there was no Jess in sight. She probably has fallen asleep on the couch. So we just walked in and made our way to the kitchen as silently as possible.
And we’re right, she fell asleep in the couch with the cookie jar wrapped around her arms. “She looks harmless that way.” I told him, who was creeping too close next to me. He must still be traumatized that time Jess almost jumped him. But this was no problem for me, I like it when he is this close to me. It made him feel safe and I feel like I’m his guardian angel or something.
“She should stay that way.” We chuckled and got to the kitchen without waking her up.
And there we remove our coats and rolled up our sleeves. I laid out the ingredients to make my Walnut Brownies. But one of us wanted to play…
“Alli!” He called and I turned to face him. He blew a handful of flour to my face. And I was kind enough to catch it all with my face. I coughed and spat some that had entered my mouth.
He laughed and pointed at my face. But when he saw the death glare I was giving him, he started running.
“Yeah you better run!” I growled at him with a rolling pin at hand. I chased him around the island counter.
We’ve been running for a good five minutes.
“Okay, okay! I surrender!” He stopped at the other side of the counter while I was on the other. He held his hand up as he panted, trying to catch his breath.
“Oh no, Vincent, we are just getting started!” I patted the rolling pin in my hands and walked menacingly slow to his place.
He dropped to the floor and sat there. “Entertain me then.” He wasn’t scared at all. He had his killer smirk on, or others would call it his game face. He wiggled his brows at me as I stared at him.
It looks like he was seducing me. And no! I’m not gonna fall in that trap. The kiss was enough for tonight. “You know what I’m tired, let’s just make some brownies and watch a movie or something.” I said in a very tired tone. I placed the rolling pin down, and his smirk was gone.
“Okay.” He answered. He must’ve thought I have taken offense with what he did.
Of course not! I just think it was better to avoid another awkward moment with him.
And with that we quietly made the brownies, only the sounds of the utensils bumping with each other and the TV on the living room was all that I can hear.
“Can you pass the tray?” I asked him and he grabbed the tray without making a sound.
As I grabbed the tray, he didn’t let go. I tugged it harder but he still wasn’t letting go. When I looked at him, he was smiling at me.
“I’m not letting this go until you, forgive me.” He wagered.
“What the fudge are you talking about?” I gave him a quizzical look, even though I knew what he meant.
“Come on, I know I’ve been going too far tonight. And I’m sorry for making this awkward on you. I thought you were alright with acting out that we’re a thing.” He explained as he got next to me. “I’m straight, and so are you. So I didn’t think it was a problem.”
“It’s not. You are my bestfriend and I’ll always have your back, no matter how weird things get.” I said with a forced smile. It stung my heart. Yeah I know. But getting bitchslapped by the truth isn’t fun at all. “You know what forget about it, it’s nothing to worry about. And according to my mom, cooking while you’re in a bad mood will make the food taste bad.” I smiled at him.
He returned a slightly confused smile. “Fine. I just feel a little awkward with how we are now. You know, it feels like something has changed other than us pretending to be a couple. That sounded so wrong.” He explained and chuckled after.
He’s right. We never had a dull moment. All we do before was talk for hours, laugh, play some games, watch movies and practically everything under the sun. But since this thing came up days ago, I‘ve treated him differently. Not that I don’t have feelings for him before, but this time it was different. The role I was playing before with has changed. I’m afraid that if I acted normal with him, this might totally change where we stand, either for the better or for worse.
“It’s all my fault.” I told him.
Is it time to tell him about it?
“What do you mean?” He asked with a questioning smile.
“I felt something weird inside the first time we kissed. And I felt it again tonight.” I didn’t have the guts to look at him.
“What?” He leaned closer to my face.
“Nevermind, it’s nothing.” I lied as I moved away and poured the mixture on the tray.
“You liked it didn’t you?” He said with an arrogant smile.
“What?! No way!” I crunched my features showing disgust but also to hide my blush.
“Because I did. You know me Alli, I would never lie to you.” He grinned.
“Are you coming out to me?” I asked him, totally not believing every bit of this.
“No! God, no. I just like to tell you that kissing you was nice and I would never regret it if that’s what you are thinking. Wow that really sounds gay. But yeah, I’m dead serious about that.” He said straight into my eyes.
“Still not buying it Vince.” I said as I gaze away from his eyes. He was telling the truth. I know that he was because he stutters when he lies so he avoids lying to me anymore.
“Okay.” He said until he grabbed my collar to face him and pulled me into a kiss. My eyes popped open while his was calmly closed as his pressed our lips together.
“I told you I’m serious.” He licked his lips and winked at me.
I was stunned until a voice got me out of my trance.
“Oh my God! You guys are totally gay for each other!” Jess exclaimed in awe, her hands covering her mouth.
