Chapter 4 – Firsts

“That was a bit harsh don’t you think?” Talia questioned me as I emptied my books into my locker. She was right. As always. I made a mental note to apologize to him when I get home.

“I’ll apologize when we get home today. I promise.” She said something after but I wasn’t paying attention. My heart began to race again and my body was tensing. In the corner of my vision I saw him. He was wearing jeans with tight fitting t-shirt that snug on to his body so good. I so wanted to be that shirt. His hair was slicked back and his eyes were just so mesmerizing. He was walking in our direction, but I didn’t notice that he was walking towards…towards me. I diverted my gaze from him so it doesn’t look like I was just staring at him, but let’s be honest I was.

“Hi,” oh man. His voice was so smooth and velvety. If I was ice I would have melted from the amount of heat my body was giving off. I kept my eyes down.

“H-hi,” I mumbled. I turned around as quickly as I said it and made my way to class. What the hell was that?! When did I become such a girl. What’s wrong with me!

“Um, so when did you become such a girl?” Talia said as she was walking beside me.

“Shut up!” I whispered fearing that he would hear her, which he probably did, damn his superhuman hearing!

Class went on like usual. I couldn’t really focus. My mind was just all over the place.

Trent’s POV

“Hi,” I said to him. I could hear his heart racing. His body tensing. He seemed nervous.

“H-hi,” he mumbled so low that if it wasn’t for my wolf hearing I would have never heard him. He turned and sprinted away from me. My wolf whined at this action. Was he rejecting us?

“Um, so when did you become such a girl?” that girl, Talia, I think her name was, said.

“Shut up!” I couldn’t help but smile. His voice was so soothing in my ear. I never want to stop hearing it. He was nervous around me. I think he likes me…

Class paled in comparison to our mate. I wanted to learn not just history but his history. Not just chemistry, but his chemistry. Not just anatomy, but most certainly his anatomy. I shuddered at the thought of feeling his smooth skin with my hands. Taking in his scent and inhaling deeply burning it into my memories forever. I haven’t even met him yet and I’m already whipped.

I could feel my sister and brother eyeing me intensely behind me. I told them about my mate and they were nervous. From what we’ve heard about hunters they aren’t friendly. Their cruel to our kind and heartless. That wasn’t my mate though. My mate was gentle, timid, shy, and oh so adorable. I just want to wrap him in my arms and never let him go! The bell signaling lunch broke me out of my trance. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to find him, wherever he was I had to be next to him. I followed his scent and made it outside.

Just like the first time I saw him he was sitting underneath the oak tree in the school yard reading. I couldn’t help but smile at the intimate moment right in front of me. I slowly made my way to him. I didn’t want to surprise or scare him away again.

I was finally 10 feet away from him before I said hi. He looked at me with icy blue eyes and I was in love. Love at first sight, what a cliché. “Hi there,” he said with a smile. Yup, love at first sight.

“May I sit down with you?”

“Um, yea sure.” He scooted his stuff over so that there was room under the shade. He’s so thoughtful.

“My name’s Trent.”

“I know who you are, who wouldn’t know the most popular and most handsome guy in school.” He blushed at that last comment. He was driving me wild. He was driving my wolf wild. CLAIM HIM!!!!!!!!!!! I had to restrain him. I wasn’t going to mess up our first meeting.

“Haha, I don’t know about most handsome, especially compared to you,” he blushed even more. ‘Smooth Trent.’

“My name is Ky.” Ky. What a beautiful name. Befitting of a specimen such as him. He offered me his hand and I gladly accepted. A jolt of electricity ran across my body. My senses were going haywire right now. I never wanted to let go of his hand. I needed more. We must have held hands for a whole. “Um, may I have my hand back, please?” I didn’t want to let go, but I didn’t want to be a creeper either.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I just…didn’t want to let go.” More blushing from him and his heart was racing. I was worried he might faint from this. “You don’t have to be nervous you know. I’m not going to hurt you.”

“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I’m so nervous…actually, I think I do. I’m your mate aren’t I?” He gulped loudly as he said that last few words. He was worried and frankly so was I. He was a hunter and I am a werewolf. We’re oil and water. Fire and Ice. We don’t mix, but for some unknown reason the moon goddess made him my mate. That couldn’t be a coincidence.

I answered him, “yes you are. And I couldn’t be happier.” He blushed again and looked down. I wasn’t sure but I think I saw him smile.

“Me…me too,” he whispered. He likes us! He accepts us! My wolf was beyond excited and so was I.

Lunch hour went by like a dream and it was definitely too short. But I did get to know him better though. He is definitely a shy one, but I’m going to get him to open up to me. It’s my goal to know everything about him. Every hope, every dream. Every fear he has. I’m going to protect him and love him and cherish him. We are! My wolf exclaimed. Yea, we are. We exchanged phone numbers and I promised him that I was going to call him later tonight after his dad’s training. Apparently he was being punished for skipping out Saturday and Sunday. I was irritated at that. No one makes my mate do anything he doesn’t want to do. Even if that someone is his father, the head hunter.  ‘Oh boy, head hunter.  This isn’t going to be easy.’ His father could be the freaking president of the free world nothing is getting the way of my mate and I. My wolf was right. I had to have him. I’m going to talk to my dad about this. If he wants to disown me, fine I don’t care. I don’t care as long as I have my Ky.

——————————————————————-

“2 more laps!” my father shouted as Talia and I panted. His making it harder for me to say I’m sorry to him when he’s being so pushy. After finishing, I decided that I would tell my father I was sorry. And maybe somehow work Trent into the conversation.

I took a shower, got dressed, and made my way to his study. I knocked on the door. “Dad, can I talk to you?”

“Come in Ky.” I went in and sat in the chair across from him.

“I’m sorry about this morning. You’re not a monster. You just made me angry.”

“I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have yelled, but you have to know son that werewolves are dangerous. They are monsters.” My blood was beginning to boil with his accusations. I wasn’t going to take it again.

“They’re not monsters dad. The civilized ones are good. They’re caring and kind and nice. They’re not the monsters that you make them out to be.”

“You don’t know them like I do Ky,” he said through gritted teeth. He was trying hard to control himself so he doesn’t lash out again. “I’m doing this for your own protection, son. I can’t lose you like I lost your mother.”

“Dad you’re not going to lose me. I can take care of myself. Contrary to your beliefs, I’m not weak. You’ve trained me to fight, but you never seem to let me use what you’ve taught me to take care of myself. I can fight and plus I found…” I stopped myself before I blurted it out.

“You’ve found what son?”

“I’ve found…” I just couldn’t say it.

“You’ve found a boyfriend?” I looked at my father with wide eyes. He knew? “Yes I know,” like he was answering my question. “I’ve known since you were a boy and it was confirmed when you told Talia. I wish you would have told me first.”

“I didn’t know how you’d feel about me. I didn’t want you to shut me out.” I began to feel tears come the surface.

“I will always love you Ky. Know that. Believe that, alright? Nothing you do could ever make me stop loving you.” I smiled as he said those words. I didn’t tell him about Trent…well I told him that I had a friend who was a boy who I might have romantic interest him, but I didn’t tell him about him being a werewolf. He wasn’t ready for that. I gave him a hug and left him back to whatever he was doing. I went back to my room but stopped at Talia’s first. I had to tell her about what just happened.

“I’m so happy for you Ky.” She said with a big hug. She always felt like she had to protect me from the outside world because I was gay, but I think she was relieved now that the biggest opinion that mattered, my dad’s, was nothing but support. “Now we just have to tell him that your boyfriend is a wolf,” she smiled and gave me a wink before leaving me speechless. Right. I don’t know how I’m going to tell him that.

Well looks like Ky’s dad isn’t the big meany we thought he would be. What did you guys think?
