Tony’s POV
After waking up from that great dream I had to adjust to the bright light shining through the curtains in this, how should we call this… This boring room without any color or decorations. The only color that was there was actually no color, black white and white. Maybe I should get out of bed and find this tesseract cube thingy. I got up and slowly, because I am tired, put on my AC/DC T-shirt and my blue jeans, combed out my hair and put on socks and sneakers. I walked through the maze that is this ship to find a place where I could eat some breakfast.
After walking through the endless and boring grey halls, I finally heard a voice that I would recognize from miles away, Steve Rogers his voice. “of course I miss the old days but I really need to find my way in this era” is what his perfect voice said and I couldn’t help but think of that dream of mine from tonight. While daydreaming, I couldn’t help but forget about seeing the doorpost and I walked against it. “Tony, you alright” Steve asked while making his way to me. I packed myself together “Yeah, I’m fine thanks, I was just daydreaming about a little bit more power in my suit…” Tony you stupid fucker, watch your step next time. “oh okay” Mr angel voice said. “Tony do you want some toast?” Bruce AKA mr Hulk said. “yeah thanks…” I made my way to the table and sat next to steve who already sat again.
After I finished my breakfast we exchanged some words again… It was a deadly silence “So did you get a good night sleep?” he asked. Oh yes it was amazing, just like my dream. “Yeh it was okay, you” is what I actually said. “no not really, I haven’t had a good sleep since waking up from the ice…” he said with a sad face that hid more sadness than he showed.
” okay guys, I’d love to hear you guys small talk the whole morning but Tony, we’ve got a cube to find.” Bruce very rudely interrupted our conversation.
“Okay Bruce, I’m on my way, I’ll see you later Steve?” I asked
“yes see you later.” he replied, his mind somewhere else than here.
I made my way to the lab after finishing my conversation with Steve. Ugh Steve, I have to talk to someone about my dream.
Steve’s POV
After Tony left the scene, I was left to wash the dishes. After washing and drying them I went to my room. While walking through the cold and carefully built walls, I could’t stop thinking about a certain man in a suit of armor. When I made it to my room I put on my old-fashioned, blue, white and red suit that was made for me while I was in the ice. I also combed my hair and carefully brushed my teeth, I don’t want them to fall out of my mouth. (brush your teeth kids! Nah just kidding, do as you like) I can’t get that damned man out of my head. maybe when I see him it will help, so I made my way to the lab. The lab looked like something I would never understand, Through the glass windows I saw Tony having a conversation with dr.Banner. I tried not to eavesdrop but I did anyway…
“Tony are you okay? You seem. A little distracted today, what is it, you can tell me…”
“I don’t know Bruce, I had a dream, and after that dream A lot seems different you know… I can’t keep my mind on the things that really matter, it always wonders off to the meaning of the dream. Bruce?”
“yes Tony, what is it that you want to say?”
“i think I am in love Bruce, with someone I just met, with a guy…”
Okay I have heard enough, I shouldn’t have listened… It is clear that Tony loves Bruce, they do have a lot in common. Who was I to think that I had a shot with him, to think that I had a shot with anyone, the desire to be loved makes you blind. I’ll never have a lover anymore, I’ve only had one and he was Bucky, and I’ll never get him back. Tears welled up in my eyes but I fought them and they were gone. i had done that so much the last weeks that I became a pro. After these breaking thoughts I left the lab and got to the main room, where, exactly at the same time someone said that they found Loki.
Tony’s POV
“i think i am in love Bruce, with someone I just met, with a guy.”
“Ehm Tony, I am terribly sorry but I-I like women…”
“Bruce no don’t worry, it is not you.” what was the guy thinking… ” no it is Steve” I said, my voice lowering so only Bruce and me could hear it.
“I have never been happier, not that you’re gross or something, it’s just that I would rather eat dirt than kiss a man or something, ewl. But I think that you have a shot with Steve.”
“why do you think that Bruce, he is clearly not gay.”
“Tony people say the same about you the whole time but seeing you here pouring out your heart I’d say something different… And mostly it’s the guys that try to be very masculine that are the gays in the closet.”
“I hope you’re right Bruce.”
“why do you hope that? By the way… Loki has been found, he is in Strasbourg, Germany. Tony you and Steve will be going with me and Jake(a random agent).” Natasha suddenly said from behind Bruce and Tony.
“Because if he is right we found the tesseract. I’ll put on my suit.” Yay a mission with the guy I like. Note the sarcasm.
I hurried to the room where my suit was. After putting it on I made my way to the jet where Steve was as well. Inside the jet we started talking and Steve looked very… I don’t know, sad? Distracted?
“Steve is there something wrong?”
“No, I mean… Yes. I just feel so guilty.”
“why steve, I bet you don’t even have a reason to be guilty.”
“Tony I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to but I heard you and Bruce talk this morning in the lab.”
Shit, fuck, shitfuck, nooo. “I want to say that I am very happy for you guys…” wait what the… Oh no… ” Steve I don’t like Bruce dumbass. I-I- you know what screw it, I like you… So there it is, laugh along, tell everybody-“
He cut me off by kissing me shortly…
“I feel the same way dork, stop worrying.” he said before kissing me once again, this time more passionately and longer. After pulling away we stood staring into each others eyes for a while, damn his eyes are pretty.
“Guys we’re here!” Natasha said. I’m surprised that her vampire ears heard nothing and that her hawk-eye’s did not see anything.
