Thomas
As Brittany and Elizabeth leave, saying their goodbyes, I find James calmly getting glasses of water for the both of us.
“Is this why you were so nervous?” I ask, still admiring the ring.
The ring is quite simple, but still beautiful, with a simple band, small diamonds around the band, and a bigger diamond in the middle, shining brightly.
“Well I wasn’t sure if you were gonna say yes.”
“James, we’ve been dating for over a year now, why wouldn’t I say yes?”
“Stop attacking me and my low self esteem.” He mumbles, sitting next to me on the couch.
“Hold up, the guy who tops has low self esteem, oh honey no.” I laugh, moving over towards him, as he takes me into his arms gently.
“Says the guy who was afraid of telling me he had a daddy kink even though we had been dating for about 5 months at the time.”
“Having a daddy kink is really embarrassing.” I whine, looking up at his green eyes, which stare right back at me.
“I didn’t care, and I don’t care now, and it shouldn’t be embarrassing, it’s literally just like me being a top, it’s what you prefer.”
I remember our first time, which wasn’t like the lust-induced sex I had before. It was kind and caring, he took care of me, unlike other people who just left me alone. He made sure it was as painless as possible, which was not the easiest considering he is rather large. I remember the aftercare, making sure I was okay, as he cleaned me off, and grabbed my new clothes. We ended up cuddling for the whole night, which I don’t mind.
In fact, I love cuddling with him, his warm breath against my neck, body pressed against mine. It’s comforting, in all honesty, and it’s nice to know he actually loves me. I’m kinda shocked anybody would love me though, and I’m still shocked he even proposed, in all honesty I’ve been waiting for him to dump me. Pretty much since our first day, I’ve waited for him to realize he could get so much better.
“Hey what do you wanna do?” James mumbles, kissing the top of my head.
“Flaunt my ring off to Tyler and flip him off.”
“Something that doesn’t involve you harassing my coworkers, babe.” He murmurs, taking my hand.
“I’m quite content with cuddling.”
James
“I’m quite content with cuddling.” He mumbles tiredly, yawing towards the end.
In his defense he’s been up since 3am. So considering that, I don’t really expect much, as he lays on top of me.
“If you are going to fall asleep, let’s at least go to bed.” I suggest, as the tired boy manages to get up.
He strips down to his boxers, before laying down in bed. Me on the other hand, I take some time, taking off my shirt and changing into sweatpants. Walking over, I grab his pants and shirt, throwing them with my clothes into the hamper.
“Hey.” I mumble softly, laying beside the younger boy.
He faces me, and smiles, “I’m sorry, I’m just really tired, I’m really not up for anything.”
Honestly I couldn’t care less, he doesn’t want sex that’s okay. The main thing is, we are getting married, and that’s all that really matters. Legally, I can call him mine, the man I loved since I first met on that bridge.
Except, he’s changed, from an underweight, dying boy, to a healthy, living and thriving man. Who might I say is so much more happier, and more lovable, I don’t care that he doesn’t have a perfectly flat stomach, or that he sometimes can’t get out of bed. I care but it doesn’t bother me because I love him, and I’ll continue to take care of him.
Holding my arms out, he rolls over and into my arms, hair tickling my neck. I watch him lay there, holding his hand out with the ring on it, admiring it.
“You like the ring?” I ask, laughing softly.
He nods, kissing me on the cheek softly, before laying his head down.
“James, thank you.” He smiles, voice muffled by my chest.
“For what?” I ask, tracing his cheek with my thumb gently.
“For the ring, for dinner, and for everything,”He smiles, “and especially for the proposal.”
“I was terrified you weren’t gonna say yes.” I laugh, watching his confused look.
“I’ve been with you for a year, and lived with you for about 15 months, we’ve been through a lot together, you think I’m gonna say no?”
“I mean there is always the pos-”
He cuts me off. “No there is not, I swear to you.”
“I thought you were tired,”
“I’m still very tired and I’ll probably forget this whole conversation tomorrow.”
“Then go to sleep.” I laugh again softly.
“We’re getting married.” Thomas mumbles tiredly.
“Yes we are, love.”
Pressing a gently kiss to his lips, he smiles into the kiss. As I reach my hand to stroke his cheek gently, I feel the red blush across his cheeks. His floral smell is the only thing I can smell, and his soft lips against mine, is the only thing I can think about.
“Goodnight Thomas.” I mumble quietly, as he falls asleep.
*time skip*
As I get home from work, I see Thomas’s phone, yet not him. Brittany is at a friends house, so where is Thomas? Picking up his phone I see texts.. from Tyler?
“So nice to see you too.” I hear a cold voice murmur from behind me. Making me shiver, as my body goes cold. I know this voice.
Tyler.
