**Liam’s POV**

Hey Lou, can I talk to you for a sec?

Yeah what’s up?

You’d never stop talking to me right?
Like stop being my friend?

WHY IS THAT EVEN A
QUESTION. Of course not, Li.
Why?

I think I’m gay… 😬😬

Well duh. Tell me something
I don’t know 😒

Wait what?

I’m not gonna lie. I’ve seen the
way you stare at that neil kid.

It’s Niall and what do you mean
I stare at him? I thought I was
good at carefully looking at people.

WHIPPED!! Dude you’re like
the worst at being subtle.
Anyways I gotta get dressed
see ya at school loverboy

Was Louis right? Was my staring that obvious? I guess I’ll figure that out later, but right now I need to get ready for school. I pick out a random white tank top, black skinny jeans, and a pair of boxers then head to the bathroom to shower. About fifteen minutes later I was out of the shower, dressed, and had slipped on a pair of socks. After fixing my hair in the mirror I had on my door, I walked downstairs to the kitchen. My mum was placing a plate of pancakes on the table.

“Good morning Liam.” She said cheerfully. That’s something I loved about my mum; she was always so happy.

“Morning mum. Thank you for making breakfast but I gotta run.”

“Well at least take an apple with you. Why are you leaving so early?” She questioned and handed me an apple.

“I didn’t understand the English assignment. I’m going to ask the teacher to explain it. It’s not due until Friday but I want to get it over with.” I explained. Most of it was a lie though. There was an English assignment due Friday but I completely understood it and already finished it.

“Okay, then. Be safe. Love you.” She said and gave me a hug.

“Love you, too, mum.” I kissed her cheek, picked up my backpack, and began the ten minute walk to the school. When I arrived at the school, I went to my locker to get my books for the first half of the day. English was my first class so it didn’t make sense for me to leave, go to my locker, then come back. I walked down to the English hall and turned into the classroom. Mr. Malik, or Zayn as he lets me call him when class isn’t in session, isn’t in the room at the moment. I use this time to place my books at my desk near the back of the room, take out my assignment, and move up to one of the seats in the front row.

“Oh, Liam you scared me.” Zayn says as he walks into the room. “I’m assuming you don’t need help with your assignment because it looks finished. So that means you’re here to talk about life.” He stated. Zayn was the kind of person that would listen to your problems and help you find a way to overcome them. I’ve been coming to Zayn with my problems since freshman year. Somehow he’s been my teacher for my four years of high school.

“Well I was wondering if you could look over it? To see if I need to change anything. And yeah, life has thrown another curve ball at me.” I handed him my assignment. He took it and briefly looked through it.

“Come up during your lunch period and we’ll work on this. So what kind of curve ball are we talking about? Family? Friends? Relationships?” He questioned as he placed the packet down on his desk.

“Well there’s this person, and apparently it’s been really obvious that I’ve been staring at them. I think I’m starting to develop feelings them and I don’t know what to do.” I said carefully.

“Is this person a guy?” He asked. I nodded.

“How’d you know?”

“If it was a girl you wouldn’t be questioning it.” I nodded, realising that he was right. He continued. “How much do you know about the kid?”

“I know his name and that’s about it.” I stated.

“Is he in any of your classes?”

“Yeah. Spanish, world history, and um English.” I said quietly.

“Wait he’s one of my students? Who?”

“Niall Horan.” Zayn nodded carefully. “So, you’re not weirded out by me being gay?”

“Why would I be weirded out? You know that I’m bi, right?” I was about to say something, but Zayn spoke first. “Have you ever talked him?”

“I’m not sure. I don’t think there ever was a reason for me to talk to him. I would like to start talking to him; to get to know what he’s like. Mostly to figure out if I genuinely like him or if this is just some dumb crush.”

“Hey, no crush is a dumb crush.” Zayn said sternly, pointing a finger at me. I knew his stern voice was a joke and the fact that he was trying to be serious made me laugh. “Don’t laugh at me. I’m serious.” He began chuckling as he said this, a smile itching onto his face.

Zayn walked over to his computer, logged on, and began typing out the morning task. When he finished he turned on the smart-board and slid himself, with the help of his chair-on- wheels, over to the desk I was sitting at. He looked at me with a big smile.

“You look like you have a plan.” I said nervously.

“That’s because I do have a plan, and you’re going to love it.” He stated, putting his hands on the desk. “I better be invited to your wedding.”

“I’m 18. I don’t think I’m getting married anytime soon.” The bell rang, indicating that classes will be starting in five minutes.

“Yeah yeah. Just start the task, and get back in your seat would ya’?” Zayn laughed. I smiled, shaking my head to myself, and walked back to my assigned desk. Slowly, students trickled into the classroom. The low hum of students whispering increased as more students walked into the classroom. The morning’s task was to sit quietly and wait for instructions. I watched Louis walk into the room with Niall and this kid named Harry close behind.

“Hey.” I said to Louis as he sat down next to me.

“I’m guessing you told you know who about you know what.” Louis said quietly. “So, what are you going to do about it?”

“I’m not sure, but he,” I tilted my head towards Zayn, “said he had a plan.” Louis was about to respond when he was cut off.

“Okay, everyone. Can you please take out your assignment packets?” He waited for everyone. “Has anyone finished it yet?” He questioned. I knew I didn’t have to raise my hand. No one raised their hand. “I thought not. I decided that you will work on your assignments for the period.” A few student let out small ‘yes’s’ while some others groaned. “I have also decided that you may work with a partner. But here’s the catch: I’m assigning your partners.” Zayn smiled as most of the class groaned in unison. He begins listing off names. “… Liam and Niall, Louis and Harry…” I looked at Louis and he had his head down on his desk. He actually cannot stand Harry for some unknown reason. “Okay, get with your partners.” When Niall looked at me, I motioned for him to follow me to one of the tables in the back of the room. Coincidentally, Louis and Harry were sitting at the other end of the table.

“Where’s your packet?” Niall asked.

“Oh I handed it in already.” I quickly looked at the front page of Niall’s packet. Nothing was filled out. The next twenty minutes consisted of Niall begging for answers and me trying not to slap him. At some point Zayn walked over to us. He placed one hand on my shoulder and the other on Niall’s chair.

“How’s everything going?” Zayn questioned. I noticed Niall look at Zayn’s hand on my shoulder, then at Zayn, then me.

“Fine.” Niall mumbles.

“It’s going good.” I said.

“That’s great. You know, I paired you two for a reason. Liam is one of my best students, and Niall, it’s no secret that you’re struggling.” I watched as Niall’s cheeks heated up. “I think you should let Liam help you on this. It is your last grade if the year aside from your final examination.” Zayn finished and walked away. Niall and I kept working until Zayn told the class that there was five minutes left of class.

“Do you want to work on this after school?” I asked.

“Sure.” He shrugged.

“Well Louis and I usually go to the town library if you want to join.”

“Yeah, the library isn’t exactly my scene…” He stepped closer to whisper in my ear, “So why don’t you ditch the twink and come to my place?”

“Um.. Well I-I guess.. I’ll have t-to talk to Louis, but s-sure.” I stammered, absolutely flushed. Niall smirked at me and walked to his seat to gather his belongings. I walked to my desk and turned to Louis. “I’m not coming to the library. He invited me over to work on the packet.”

“Yeah, sure. That’s totally what he wants to do.” He sniggered. I gave him a questioning look. He sighs and says, “He wants to get in your pants.” Before I could respond to that, the bell rang. As usual, I was the last one to get up.

“Liam.” Zayn called just as I reached the doorway. I turned around. “Here’s your pass for lunch.” He handed me a small, rectangular piece of paper.

“Thanks.”

“No problem. See you later.”

~lunch~

I make sure I get to the cafeteria early so I won’t have to wait that long on the lunch line. About five minutes later, I’m walking to the table where a couple of my friends and I usually sit. Louis and Josh are already there when I arrive.

“Hey, Liam.” Louis and Josh said at the same time.

“Hi.”

“Oh that reminds me! Josh, you owe me ten bucks.” Louis turns to Josh.

“What? Why?”

“The bet we had? I won.”

“Really? Damn.” Josh sighs and pulls the money out of his pocket.

“What bet?” I question. Neither looks like he wants to tell me. “Okay then. I love being excluded from thing.” I say sarcastically and start eating the school ‘food’.

“We had a bet about your sexuality…” Louis explained hesitantly. “Josh here thought you were as straight as he likes to pretend to be.”

“I am straight. Not everyone is all rainbows and unicorns like you.” Josh retorts.

“I’ll take that as a compliment.” Louis states and bites his sandwich.

A few chat filled minutes pass by before I’ve had enough of this processed food.

“Okay, I’ll see you all later.” I say standing up. My friends give me small goodbyes and return to their conversations. I throw out my garbage, leave the cafeteria, and walk to the English hallway. The door is closed so I knock. When I get no response, I look through the small window in the door. I noticed Zayn was reading a book. Knowing he wasn’t going to hear me knock, I just open the door. He looks up from his book and closes it.

“Welcome back.” He said. I smiled in response, closing the door behind me. “So, I looked through your packet, and everything is correct. You get a 100 for the assignment. Congratulations.”

“Are you serious?” I ask in disbelief.

“I have given that same packet to my seniors for four years, and no one has ever received that grade. Why would I lie about the first one?”

“Oh my god. That’s crazy.” I breathe. “It was one of the hardest assignments I’ve had in my life.”

“I’m very proud of you, Liam.” He says as he walks over to me. Strangely, he hugs me, and strangely, I hug him back. It was a quick hug and wouldn’t have been weird if he hadn’t kissed me after. But unlike the hug, this kiss wasn’t short. I could have pulled back if I wanted to, but, confusingly, I pressed my lips back against his and moved them in sync. Several seconds later, Zayn pulled away.

“What the f-ck was that?” I asked immediately.

That was your first kiss with a guy. I didn’t want it to be awkward between you and Niall. Saying something like: ‘Oh hey Niall, before we kiss for the first time, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve never kissed a guy before.’ can really put pressure on a guy. I would know.” He explained.

“But doesn’t that break some type of rule? Or the law?”

“Well, you’re 18 so I didn’t break any law, and nowhere in the school rules does it say that a teacher can’t have a romantic relationship with a student.”

“This is not a romantic relationship.”

“No sh-t, Sherlock. Plus I have a girlfriend, and why would I want to be in a romantic relationship with an 18 year old?” He laughed.

“Thanks for the ego booster.” I said sarcastically. Zayn smiled before walking back to his desk.

“You can start heading to your next class. The bell rings in about one minute. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He dismissed, going back to his book. The rest of then day went smoothly. I was at my locker putting the needed books into my backpack. I was surprised when I closed my locker and saw Niall.

“Hey.” I said after I recovered from my mild heart attack.

“Hey. Are you ready to go?” He asked. I nodded and followed out of the school and to his car. The drive was fairly short. Niall had a surprisingly large house; almost twice the size of mine. “My parents are doctors, so they make a lot of money between the both of them.” He explained. We got out of the car and up to the front door. Niall took a key out of his backpack and unlocked the front door. “We can go into the study room.” I followed him down a hallway and into a medium sized room. The room had a sofa and a small table by the back wall, a desk with a computer and computer chair by another wall, and a table and a few chairs by the wall opposite to the computer desk. “Where do you want to sit?”

“Let’s sit at the table.” We sat down, similar to how we were at school. “Do you want to work on English first?”

“Yeah, sure. Just to get it out of the way. Speaking of English, what do you think of Mr. Malik?” He asked randomly.

“Well, I think he’s a very good teacher.”

“That’s not what I mean. What I meant was, do you like him? I saw the way he touched your shoulder earlier, and I was wondering if there was anything going on between the two of you.” I wasn’t sure how to respond and opened and closed my mouth like a fish. “Your hesitation tells me that something has happened.”

“Can you keep a secret?” He nodded. I took a deep breath before saying, “Mr. Malik and I have kissed. But it was only once and will never happen again.”

“So you’re gay?” He asked.

“Yeah.”

“Good.” He smiled. “So that means I can do this.” He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. I closed my eyes and kissed back. We pulled away after a minute or two.

~time skip bc lazy~

“So the answer is A?” He asked.

“Yes!” I exclaimed. “And now you’re done.”

“Finally! Let’s celebrate.” He said before leaning in to kiss me. I moved my head so he ended up kissing my cheek. He pulled away and gave me a questioning look.

“You have other homework that needs to be done.” I stated sternly.

“Yeah, about that. I don’t exactly do homework…” he trailed off.

“Well, today you’re doing homework; whether you like it or not.” I said. I watched as Niall’s face changed from one of being pissed off, to one of satisfaction.

“Okay. I’ll do my homework, but on one condition. We make out after.” He offered with a smug smirk resting on his perfect face.

“Yeah, okay.” I smile and look down.

~40 minutes later~

As I finished my homework, I placed my pen down the table, looked to my side and noticed that Niall was staring into space. I waved my hand in front of his face. He snapped out of his little daydream.

“Have you finished your homework?” I asked him.

“Yes, almost ten minutes ago. Are you done?”

“Yep.” I said nervously, knowing what was about to happen. My suspicions were confirmed when Niall smiled, grabbed my face, and attached his lips to mine. I tentatively kissed back, but Niall seemed to want something else. 😉
