*Liam’s P.O.V.*
I just have to get through today then it’s Friday. I think as I get off the bus and walk into the school. I see my best mate standing by our lockers.
“Hey Niall.” I say. He nods his head at me and continues trying to open his locker. I open mine with ease and start putting books I don’t need in and taking books I do need out.
“Hey Liam.” Louis purrs into my ear.
Louis, I guess you can say, bullies me. But not in a physical or verbal way. He, for example, whispers in my ear, touches me, and kisses me. If you didn’t know what was happening, you would think we were dating.
The only probably is, I can’t stand him.
“Have you been having a good day so far, Liam?” He said tracing random shapes on my arm.
“I was until you showed up.” I muttered under my breath. “And why is that?”
I was about to answer when he cut me off. “Actually I don’t care. See you in English.” he skipped away but not before kissing me fully on the lips.
“What’s his problem?” Niall said, now suddenly beside me. “I don’t know, but we should hurry to class.”
History was probably my favourite class for two reasons. 1) It was one of the two classes I did not have with Louis. 2) It’s my best subject.
The class flew by and the next thing I knew it was time to go to English.
I took my seat in the back left of the room. The tables and the classroom was designed so that we had “desk partners” of the same gender and since we had no guy with a last name starting with a/an: q, r, or s, I had to sit next to Louis when I could have been sitting next to a pretty girl named Sophia.
Louis came in late, as usual, but luckily was in his seat before the teacher, Mr. Malik, came in.
“Okay class, five more minutes on this morning’s task, then I have some news.” he said then walked to his desk, probably taking attendance.
“*TASK: What is irony? When has something ironic ever happened to you?*”
Easy. I was done writing within three minutes.
And I guess Louis was also finished because I felt his hand traveling up and down my thigh; starting by my knee and going up slowly very close to my ‘area’ and moving back down quickly.
I firmly placed my hand on top of his to stop him from moving it again. He took this as an opportunity to intertwine our fingers and rub his thumb on mine.
“Okay class times up. We will be starting a project about irony. Please pass back the packets, they explain everything but we are going to go over a few things.” as he spoke I was trying to pry my hand away from Louis’.
I finally got it away, but then he started rubbing my thigh again.
“You are working with your desk partner and will each be assigned different books with many examples of irony. You will have six weeks to complete the project, considering you have to read an entire book and write a two to five page essay…” Mr. Malik talked until the bell rang signalling that the class was over.
“We will start the project tomorrow!” He yelled before all the kids could run out of the room.
“Looks like we’re working together.” Louis smiled. “Yay” I said sarcastically. “Don’t seem so down LiLi. I promise we will get an A+.” he smiled wrapping his arm around my shoulders as we walk to science, a class we have also have together.
Fuuuunnn *Note sarcasm*.
At least in this class, where we also have “seat partners of the same sex”, there is a kid with the initial ‘s’ so I didn’t have to sit next to Louis.
“Good morning, class.” the teachers exclaimed. “Today you and your partners will work on a worksheet. Oh I see Harry isn’t here. Liam you can work with Louis, who also seems to not have a partner.” she talks really fast I could barely understand what she was saying.
I understood enough of her sentence to get up and sit in the empty seat next to the idiot smiling so big that you would have to break it into three pieces just to fit through the door.
*the next day (bc Im lazy)*
“You have to work on an English project together? I feel bad for you, mate.” Niall stated, patting my shoulder, as we walked to History.
History was over before you could say ‘hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia’, the fear of long words.
Mr. Malik explained the rest of the project and gave us the books. Louis and I got The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
Science, Harry was back so I had to explain everything on the worksheet to him. And the rest of the day went by, leaving me to dread Louis coming over my house for the next six weeks to do the English project.
“You have to take the bus to school, right?” Louis asked after the last period bell rang. “Yeah, why?”
“I was just thinking that, since I have a car, I could drive us to your house to do homework and start the project.” he suggested.
“Sure, but just so you know, my parents are on some business trips and my siblings are away.” I instantly regretted saying that, because I feel like I told him something he really really wanted to hear.
*le time skip to Liam’s bedroom*
“Ugh I just can’t get this!” Louis huffed, exasperated. “Liam, can you help me?”
“Sure, what is it?” He showed me the math problem.
5x-18+2=34
“Okay well first combine your like terms, so that means add -18 and 2.” he added them. “Then, add -16 to both si-“
“Why am I adding -16 when it says subtract?” He cut me off. “It’s called opposite operations. The opposite of subtraction is addition.” he nodded his head telling me to continue.
“Next, divide both sides by 5. You should get x=10.” When he got it I decided to ask, “Weren’t you paying attention in class? The teacher explained all of this.”
“I was distracted.” he answered simply, and I already knew why, and I left it at that.
We finished our homework and started reading the book. “If we read at least two chapters a day we can finish this book in a week. Then have the next five weeks planning and finishing the project.” I say.
“Sounds like a plan. Liam, has anyone every told you how smart you are?” He said wrapping his arms around me.
It was at that moment I really looked at him. And I realized, he is truly a beautiful human being. How could I have never seen this before?!
“What are you thinking about there Li?” He asked. I felt something warm bubble up inside of me when he called me ‘Li’.
“U-uh not-thing.” I stuttered. “You don’t seem to sure of that. Tell me. Maybe I can help.” he said, now sitting on my lap straddling me.
“First, I have a question. Why do you do this?” I motion around us.
“When I was younger my mother always told me that if I liked someone to just go for it and don’t hold back.” He sighed.
He liked me? Well that makes sense. Do I like him back? Yeah, when ever he was near me my heart started beating faster and I felt maybe a tiny butterfly in my stomach. Oh my god, I do like him.
“Liam?” He asked, snapping me back into reality. “I have been trying to get your attention for a million years.” he exaggerated.
“Sorry I was just thinking.” I stated dumbly.
“Tell me what you were thinking about, please.” he begged.
I didn’t respond. I just looked him in his ocean blue eyes, cupped his cheeks with my hands and leaned in, connecting our lips.
There was no movement, no tongue, just lips pressed together. It felt perfect.
After about a minute I pulled back. “Wow.” we said in unison.
Then there was silence. Not an awkward silence, we were just looking into each other’s eyes. Our faces so close, our noses were touching. My hands still cupping his face, thumbs rubbing his cheekbones.
They say that you know it’s love when you look into their eyes and all you see are hearts. Which is exactly what I am seeing right now.
“Does this mean that you like me back?” He asked after a few minutes.
I smiled and nodded, pressing our lips together again in a slow, passionate kiss.
The sound of a duck made us break apart. My mum was calling.
“What should I say to her?” I exclaim. “Don’t say anything unless she brings it up.” I nodded.
{L- Liam K- Karen}
L- “Hey mum, how are you?”
K- “Hello sweetie. I was just calling to check up on you. Is everything alright?”
L- “Yeah everything is fine.”
K- “What’s going on Liam? I can hear it in your voice. What are you not telling me?”
L- *sighs* “You love me right? No matter what?”
K- “Yes, of course. As long as you didn’t kill anyone.”
L- “No, no. I would never.” *Louis rubs his shoulder* “I just don’t know how to put this…”
K- “Liam, are you gay?”
L- *shocked* “How did you know?”
K- “One, I’m a mother and we know everything. Two, I had a feeling when you were obsessed with Toy Story. Three, you’re in year 12 and never had a girlfriend or talked about getting one.”
L- “Are you okay with it?”
K- “I couldn’t care less if you we gay or straight. Just as long as you are not killing anyone, I’m fine with whatever you do.”
L- “Thanks mum, you’re the best.”
K- “You’re welcome. I have to go now see you in a couple days. Love you.”
L- “Love you too, bye.”
{End Conversation}
“She’s okay with it!” I exclaim, pulling Louis in a bone crushing hug.
“Can’t breathe, Liam.” he chocked and I loosened my grip but was still hugging him.
“Sorry, I’m just so happy right now.” I said smiling like a fool.
“It’s okay Li. I’m happy too.” He said kissing my cheek. I blushed at the contact.
There was another few minutes of comfortable silence. Until Louis pulled back a little, close enough to where our noses were touching again, and starting rubbing our noses in an Eskimo kiss.
We both started giggling and I pecked his lips. This time, making him blush.
“I love you, Liam.” he said looking in my eyes.
“I love you too. Oh my god, I love you so much.” I said back, crashing our lips together in a love filled kiss.
And that was how the rest of the night went; kissing, cuddling, and getting a call from Louis’ mum asking him where he was because we lost track of time. Let’s just say it was the best night of my life.
