Hi there 🙂

I’m open for any comments. Especially regarding my grammar. Thank you!

Enjoy reading..

Point Of View
– Third Person –

“Okay! So here is your special double-chocolate frappe!”

The barista said proudly as he handled the order of the customer, a smile can be seen on the face of the latter while looking at the order.

“If I’m not mistaken I ordered double-chocolate frappe not mentioning the word special.” the customer replied teasing the barista.

“It’s my job.” the barista assured, he was Joon. The junior of the coffee store. “And double-chocolate is my specialty, I always make sure to make it the best.” he added.

“I see, right I get it.” the customer chuckled in amusement and started making her way to the exit. “Thanks. I hope my daughter will like this.” she added and Joon just nodded as a response.

“Now I agree with what the guard has said that we are getting more customers because of you.”

He heard someone speak from his back. It happened to be the senior manager.

He smiled at her, the one who made the job interview of Joon during his application last month.

Basically he owed her a lot for letting him work in the store.

“I just hope that he’s also that cheerful in his own real world.”

One of his colleagues teased.

“Yes. Thank you.” was all he managed to say and continued working.

He can’t disagree with that, they were just stating the truth.

Joon was a good worker to his customers, he talked with them cheerfully and happily. But deep inside, he’s different.

He can be cheerful just like the other normal people but there’s this side of him that’s full of darkness.

He has been feeling so sad and lonely since the death of his mom. He’s renting an apartment and living alone, all by himself. He hated how common his situation was.

Time had passed and Joon’s shift was done.

“Here take it. I don’t want you skipping meals. I can’t afford your absence here. Thanks for the hard work today, good night!”

The senior manager cheered handling him the small bag of food.

Joon smiled in gratitude thanking her. He took the bag and started walking out of the store.

“Take care Joon!” he looked back as he heard a goodbye from his colleagues.

He nodded and waved his right hand.

Walking at night was a little comforting to him, he’s not a stranger to the dark. The two pieces of burger in the small bag had his eyes glitter.

He was really thankful to his colleagues because they treated him good given that he just started joining them two weeks ago.

He may be skipping meals for strange reasons but not all the time, when it’s just needed. Living alone was really hard that he needed to save money in order to survive, ignoring the fact that skipping meal was not good.

He laid down on his bed in silence when he got home, staring at the ceiling for an hour now.

“I miss you mom.”

He mumbled almost not making sound as he talked.

Tomorrow will be his mother’s 7th death anniversary, 2nd of December.

Thinking about his mom made him cry and that made the night rainy and sad.

It rained as he cried and he was aware of that. When he cries it will surely rain, that’s why he always managed to hold his tears when he felt like crying just not to bother those people outside.

But now, he can’t take it. He felt like he really needed to cry.

“I’m sorry to let the night rainy but I just can’t hold it.”

The words that came out from his mouth. He sat up staring at his window, witnessing how hard the rain was getting.

There’s this another teenager who’s having a special day.

He was Trusselle.

“Greg let’s go. I think it will rain harder!”

He shouted getting his driver’s attention. They ended up running while heading to the car.

“Ahh!! Why is it always raining whenever I visit my brother?!” he groaned out of frustration.

Today was his late little brother’s 5th birthday and he went to visit him.

He found it weird that it always rained like it’s normal at night whenever he visited his brother.

“Ah, my little brother I’m sorry if I have to leave this early. It rained again..”

It’s 7:30 in the evening.

“Sir your sister just sent a message and he wants me to let you know that dinner is ready.” Greg, the driver, informed him while starting the car.

His family already visited his brother earlier in the morning and he always did the visits at night.

After an hour stay, it rained unexpectedly but it became normal to him. Sometimes he couldn’t help but to think that his brother’s probably trying to play with him, they used to always play at the pool when he’s still alive.

It brought him tears thinking of what they used to do before, how they celebrated his first birthday and how he lost him.

He can’t help but to focus himself on how the window of the car got wet, no one knew how hard the rain could be.

He wondered why we feel sad or lonely whenever it rains.

His mom welcomed him as he got home.

“Oh Trusselle my son you’re home. Look we made the dining room full of food the way we planned it.” his mom greeted him once and showed how they made the table fruitful.

He saw his dad and sister preparing more food and how his mom secretly wiping her tears. He let out a big hug while patting her back.

“Mom no more crying, my brother won’t like to see us like this during his birthday.” he tried to comfort her and smiled weakly.

Yes holding your tears was never an easy thing. He decided to busy himself by helping them prepare the table.

A lot of cookies were made by his sister. They celebrated the birthday with a smile on their faces the way they always did it.

Sometimes it’s really a choice whether to be happy or not. A family was always a good companion.

The following day was another normal day to spend.

“Make sure to wear the best coat!”

His mom reminded him before leaving the house, he smirked and thought of his errands for today.

He stripped his shirt off and rushed to his bathroom. He found the day great and his morning was different today. Everything felt exciting and it’s giving him a good mood.

After taking a shower he walked to the other side of his room and all of his clothes came into view. He got a very big closet that he personally designed.

“Maybe a white long sleeves and a black jacket will do.” he whispered getting full sight of his things.

There’s no way he would wear a coat! He was never a business man and he won’t like to be one.

Once done preparing he went out of his room and told Greg to rush to their building.

..

“Yes Mrs. Ellison, of course we would be very happy to start a business with you.”

“I believe that my proposal can be of big help to your business.”

As he’s on his way the clients were doing their best to get his mom’s interest during the meeting.

Who would not want to work with one of the most successful businesses in the country. Ellison family was a well-known name in the industry.

Few minutes have passed until Trusselle arrived at their building.

All of the employees made themselves presentable. His presence was always dominant.

Some from the front desk greeted him with their biggest smiles.

He was surely an attractive guy and good looking enough to make every heads turn his way.

A real definition of a gorgeous man that a girl could ever dream of!

“Oh here’s my son, come here honey.”

Stella said when her son entered the room, her clients were shocked in amusement as usual. Seeing someone like him in person can drive you crazy.

“He’s always in the articles of newspapers, he’s really handsome.” one of the reactions.

“Of course he is but he can be a devil sometimes.” Stella laughed sarcastically because she knew where this conversation was going.

Trusselle just smiled and joined them at the table. He’s already bored.

“It seems like it’s good that I made my daughter unmarried up until now.” one of the clients chuckled, talking about the girl next to her.

His mom sighed discreetly because of that. This was making their time wasted.

He never had any interest of meeting someone that he can start dating with especially if it’s business related.

“I don’t think that’s good.”

His mom replied and that’s what he wanted about his family. They never pushed him to someone just to get a business.

“Hi Trusselle? How are you doing?”

He raised his head to see who’s asking, it was the girl. He saw the mother of the latter with a proud face.

Not his taste. He preferred someone who’s small that he can literally put inside his pocket, that thought made him smile.

“I’m good. Oh sorry excuse me guys, I have to go now.” he half-raised his right hand excusing himself and stood up to make his way to the door.

“Got to go then. Anyway mrs. Swift and mrs. Smith please excuse me too. I have to go now, I’ll just let my assistant reach you regarding your proposal.”

His mom excused herself and made her way out too.

“Failed. I don’t like them. They want their daughters to marry you? Then what?”

His mother shook her head in disbelief as they walked in the hall.

“Thank you mom.” he said not turning his head to look at her.

His mom almost stopped from walking because of his tone of voice.

“Why?” she asked seriously and a small smile grew on his face.

“Because you never forced me to marry anyone just because of the business.”

What he said made his mom suppress a laugh. She placed her right hand around his waist, hugging him a little.

“Because I don’t want to lose you. Your grandparents used to send me to blind dates just to satisfy their business partners. But good thing your dad was determined to fight for me and now look, we are very happy. And I want you to find your own happiness too.” she got serious and now rubbing his back.

He hugged his mom in happiness. He must be very lucky to have them.

They had a coffee together before parting ways, he had to go and meet his sister for shopping.

“Which one is good? How about violet?”

Now he’s preparing himself for another debate with his sister. They always argue about what to buy and which was better.

One thing she liked about his sister was the taste of choosing local malls for Christmas decorations.

“I think red will be good too.” he suggested.

“So let me get this since you mentioned its color.” his sister, Sandra.

That was easy.

They continued buying things they can use to decorate their house for holiday, Christmas was coming again.

Joon happened to be in the mall too. He left his apartment earlier than usual and decided to walk around before his shift.

He decided to look for something he can buy for christmas, something that he didn’t want to miss.

“How about this sir? You may want it too.”

The sales lady offered him another product while using her hands to show things and to explain more.

He kept on nodding and agreeing as always. He’s bad at buying things.

“But I am looking for a very small christmas tree, let’s say like 1 feet height?’

It took a lot of courage for him to say it. He didn’t want to disappoint the sales lady after promoting different items for sale.

He just wanted a very small christmas tree. He would like to display it on the table next to his bed.

Christmas made him happy and sad at the same time. Happy because it’s a special day and sad at the same time because he missed his mom.

Celebrating it alone was never his dream but the least thing he can do to make himself a little happier.

“Sure. We have here for 7 dollars. Follow me sir.”

The sales lady replied and he followed her way. The group of christmas trees were coming into view as they entered another section of items.

“Here. Look sir I know this is what exactly you are looking for.”

This time he felt so satisfied to see the kind of chistmas trees he’s been looking for.

“This one please, I like it.” he cheered pointing at the smallest one that caught his eyes.

“One moment sir. Let me check if we have stocks.”

He waited and stood still while checking some of the products on sale.

“No I don’t want it. Let’s take the tallest one. I told you!”

His attention was taken by someone’s voice, how can a voice be so appealing? It was strong but attractive.

“Oh come on Trusselle, that’s too tall!” a woman replied.

And yes it was Trusselle Ellison with his sister Sandra.

They’re coming from the next section and he got to see a well-decorated christmas tree standing about 10 feet which they’re probably talking about.

“No I want it.” Trusselle insisted.

Joon couldn’t get a sight of him. He’s about to turn around and focus on waiting again when Trusselle finally came into view.

He was wearing white shoes. Yes white shoes, Joon loved the color that it caught his attention right away!

He couldn’t help but to stare at Trusselle, thinking how a guy can be so attractive effortlessly. He thought that the two were Americans because of their features.

He smiled unconciously thinking that Trusselle was cute even when frowning.

“Sir here, it’s a good thing that we still have a stock.”

He suddenly turned around when the sales lady went back.

“Oh cool!” he was fascinated by the sight.

It’s just a 1-feet tall christmas tree but it was almost a perfection to his eyes.

He took it and checked it excitedly.

“Ohhh look, see? I’m not the only one who’s attracted to that height of a christmas tree!”

He heard Sandra who’s already approaching him.

He smiled knowing how amused she was with it. But that smile faded away when he noticed Trusselle from the back with uninterested expression.

He looked away when their eyes met for the first time. It felt strange and weird.

“Lady, can you please get me one? Same as this.” Sandra cheered while staring intently at what he’s holding.

Joon was left alone with them, he can feel pressure. Trusselle’s presence was also making him uncomfortable.

“Can I?” he nodded hesitantly when Sandra asked to check the item he’s holding.

Knowing that Trusselle didn’t like it made his situation worse.

But one thing, Sandra looked familiar to her.

“See? Trusselle it’s cute! I can put these on my table in my room. It’s good!”

Sandra praising the item wasn’t helping him with his situation right now.

“Trusselle what do you think?”

Trusselle started walking to them and once he got closer he had the chance to see him clearer and it gave him the opportunity to witness his skin, suddenly he found himself in his mind praising it.

Joon hated to admit it but Trusselle was really attractive!

The latter took the small tree from Sandra to check it and his scent started surrounding them. Joon can smell it.

“I didn’t tell you to check it for so long.” Sandra rolled her eyes and took it away from Trusselle. “Here little korean. Take it, thanks!”

Joon smiled weakly not knowing how to react. He’s used to pet names or nicknames, the students were doing the same thing when he’s serving at the cafe.

“Well my sister really loves to take things away from the others so I apologize for that.” he didn’t expect Trusselle to talk to him though the latter wasn’t looking at him this time.

“I’m sorry, this is how arrogant my brother is. Anyway thank you little korean.” Sandra waved a goodbye.

He smiled hearing the “little korean” twice.

He saw her dragging Trusselle to where the sales lady went. The two looked cute.

It must be good to have a sibling.

Joon waved a goodbye to Sandra and made his way to the counter to pay his item.

Point Of View
– Third Person –

“Joon! One cappuccino and mocha please!”

“Yes copy!”

Joon has been working all around, as a barista and server. He’s enjoying it since the customers were smiling at him.

Once done with the task provided he rushed to the counter to take an order.

“Good afternoon, your order please?” he asked excitedly to the lady looking at the menu above.

“Cookies and cream, is that flavor good?”

He smiled seeing the lady’s curiosity.

“Let me make it better for you then!” he assured and earned a chuckle from the other.

He made his way to his station to make the order. Doing little changes with the same process was his thing to make the frappe better.

Once done he gave the order and the lady’s eyes grew bigger after tasting what he made, he waved a goodbye with a proud smile.

Another customer walked forward for a turn and he’s about to greet when he realized who he was

“H-how may I place your o-order sir? I mean good afternoon.” he sighed at himself for stuttering.

He looked down not wanting to make any mistake, the customer’s eyes were focusing on him and he noticed that the moment they met his.

The presence of the customer was so strong that it’s making him nervous.

“I would like to get one double-chocolate and a coffee.” he can fully recognize that strong yet attractive voice.

Hearing his specialty somehow brought him confidence.

“Double chocolate..” he couldn’t help but to repeat the said flavor while punching it on the counter.

He got surprised when the guy smiled at him and yes it’s giving him a big impact.

“One second please..” he excused himself to rush to his station to make the flavor, he needed to get distance from him.

“Hey Joon, do your best okay! That customer is mr. Ellison. His sister is one of the stock holders of this company.”

The senior manager, Cindy, said while patting his back. That caught him off guard thinking if it was the reason why the impact of the customer to him was totally different.

The american guy from the mall was his customer today and it’s Trusselle. The same tall guy with impactful presence, the voice and scent that he could remember.

“Mam Cindy? That’s him right? The strict guy?”

He didn’t miss the question of his colleague.

“Yes it’s him. But don’t distract yourself. He might notice and we don’t want that to happen.” Cindy replied.

“Who’s serving him?”
“It’s Joon.”
“Really? Then we’re all set.”

He forced a smile to his colleagues, he’s wondering why they look unbothered.

“Good thing. I’m afraid I might make mistakes if I were to serve him.
“Yes me too.”
“But it’s a relief knowing that Joon is the one serving him, customers like him so much.”

Now he’s getting scared and nervous after seeing how comfortable and confident his colleagues were. He bit his lip as he shook his head.

“Yes Joon got this. No need to worry. His charm drives customers crazy.” Cindy said comfortably.

He wanted to shake his head a no as they’re only making his situation worse.

Once done with the coffee and frappe he went back to the cashier counter to serve the order.

He wondered if he made his specialty special this time.

“Here is your order sir Trusselle, a coffee and one double-chocolate frappe.” he tried to focus but failed to deliver his favorite line when serving his specialty.

“Oh seriously? How did you know his name?”

He felt heat in his cheeks when he heard Cindy who’s arranging the paper bags in the counter.

Who would forget such great name? Trusselle was really a good name especially the appearance of the owner can’t be forgotten.

“Let me take a seat at the table 7.” Trusselle said in authority. “Bring my orders there.”

The superiority of his voice was very alerting but Joon got worried knowing that a coffee and frappe won’t be good for his stomach.

He thought it was just a take out but since Trusselle requested for the order to be sent to table 7 that means the coffee and frappe were for him.

“There you go, just be yourself and treat him as a normal customer.” Cindy whispered before patting his shoulder.

When he checked the table 7 he saw that Trusselle was already there.

He was shaking as he made his way to him. The pressure can’t be controlled.

“Sir here is your..-“

He wasn’t able to finish his words when he tripped himself by accident and something he never imagined happened unexpectedly.

Noooo!

Everything fell except the frappe since Trusselle managed to catch it, Joon failed to control his balance and the coffee got spilled.

He did his best to stand up and he can already hear customers talking about the scene he made.

He almost stumbled backwards when he saw the result of what happened.

“S-sir Trusselle.. I, I d-did not mean to..-” he stopped from talking when he saw his face, the expression that gave him the urge to cry.

He knew this. This was very familiar, he got this feeling that he will lose his job again.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion and he couldn’t think of anything but to feel so guilty.

“I’m sorry.” he gave up knowing that there’s no way to keep his job.

It’s right that when you start enjoying what you have then that’s the time you’ll lose it.

“Mr. Ellison I am very sorry about what just happened. I know he did not mean to make this..-“

Cindy was cut off when Trusselle spoke.

“I know. Let me use my sister’s office here. Let me talk to him for a moment.”

“Mr. Ellison w-we can talk a-about it right? Believe me he’s a very good guy, he’s actually..-“

“I know! I know! Just let me talk to him!”

Trusselle raised his voice and that scared them.

The senior manager flinched and nodded in agreement. She turned around to face all the employees at the counter.

“Guys make office room number 3 ready. Now!” she shouted commanding them and they all moved to do it.

Trusselle went to the restroom leaving Joon and Cindy behind.

“I am sorry I can’t help you, I’m not allowed to follow inside. Relax and calm down, okay Joon?”

Cindy told him and he just nodded. He couldn’t do anything about it and just tried to focus.

“Good luck Joon.”
“I’m worried. Please be careful.”
“Calm down okay?”

His colleagues tried to cheer him up, he bent over a thank you.

After getting in to the room number 3 he found the scary guy already sitting with the frappe he made.

He rushed and walked to the table.

“I’m sorry.”

Trusselle was just staring at him intently, wondering how he got this feature.

“May I know your name?” he asked not minding the name tag on his uniform.

Joon kept on saying that he’s sorry and hoping not to get fired.

“I’m asking for your name. Not for how sorry you are.” Trusselle tried to be casual.

In fact he’s being obsessed by the frappe he’s enjoying at the moment.

“M-my name?”

He sighed quietly, he just told him and now he’s asking again. He’s controlling his temper not to scold Joon like how he always did to their employees at their building.

The fact that Joon was scared of him since the encounter at the mall he knew he needed to be casual and calm, he didn’t want to scare him more.

As he was looking for a flavor to choose earlier he recognized Joon because of his korean feature.

Sandra told him too that the guy they have encountered yesterday at the mall , which was Joon, was familiar to her. Then after giving it a thought she told that he was the one serving them during her meeting with the store officials.

“Joon is my name sir Trusselle.”

Trusselle finally heard what he wanted to and he found it weird that he’s smiling because Joon knew his name when he didn’t even know his.

Well he’s aware that his family was only known by people in the business industry.

“So it’s Joon.” he liked his name. “How did you know my name?” he’s hiding a smile while taking a sip of his frappe.

“I r-remember it.”

“From where?” he asked with his smile growing widely.

Joon was just looking down and that’s giving Trusselle the freedom to smile comfortably.

“Yesterday.” the answer made his day.

“Okay thanks for that.” he stood up and walked near to him. “How about your full name?”

He studied Joon, how tight his uniform but looking so comfortable, his korean hairstyle and feature, how slim he was and how cute he could be while sitting innocently.

Trusselle sat on the table with his one leg on it, trying to get a closer view of Joon who’s still looking down.

“Gook Joon Yo.”

That surprised him.

“So you’re really a korean?” he smiled. “Please make yourself comfortable. Don’t just answer okay? You can explain, I mean you can talk more.” now he’s getting interested in him.

He thought that Joon’s height and eyes proved it.

5’9 tall. Pale. Clear skin.

“A korean and a half filipino. My mom is a filipino.”

Now he liked that Joon talked more.

“Okay. I see.” he nodded and turned his head to the sofa where he placed his polo.

Since Joon tripped by accident the coffee almost went like a paint on his jacket and now he ended up wearing a round neck tanktop.

“I never thought that my favorite jacket will-..”

“I am really sorry, please? I can’t afford losing my job, I need it.”

He failed to finish what he’s saying when Joon cut him off, the latter raised his head too to look at him.

Meeting his scared eyes made Trusselle speechless.

Not the scared eyes he saw from yesterday because Joon’s eyes right now were on the urge of crying. He couldn’t help but to stand up and walk backwards after seeing that Joon’s eyes were getting teary.

The view made him weak.

“Why are you so scared? I’m not doing anything.” he tried to understand Joon.

“I’m sorry sir but I really need it. I need my job. I don’t want to lose it and I can’t go around feeling helpless again.” Joon looked down again.

Trusselle got so worried that he walked to him to touch his shoulder to tell him that everything was okay but he didn’t expect to hear something from him again and that made him stop from touching him.

“I’m tired.” Joon sounded so helpless.

Trusselle knew to himself that he was never selfish. It was never his intention to take someone’s happiness away for no reason.

Yes he may be rude sometimes, always on the urge of losing his mood and very strict on his own way but he never intended to hurt anyone.

Joon got emotional and he didn’t want him to feel that way.

In fact, he found him adorable since yesterday but he never thought that they will end up in this situation.

He was offended that Joon thought he’s firing him for just tripping and he knew that it was just an accident.

He’s not upset or mad at him, he just got offended because people always thought of him like that. Brat, unreasonable and selfish.

The room fell in silence and he saw Joon wiping his eyes. He went back to sit on the chair and took a deep breathe before talking.

“You can go.” he lost his mood.

A minute has passed but nobody moved or talked. He couldn’t even take a sip of his frappe anymore, losing his mood was always the worst thing that can happen to him.

Until Joon raised his head to look at him, the tired eyes were making him feel so weak and he had no idea why.

“Do you want me to take your jacket? I can wash it. I’m good at it, I wash my own clothes. I think I can remove the stain I made.”

He didn’t expect that. All he thought was Joon would hate him but even his eyes looked so tired he can guess that he’s being genuine and concerned.

But the thing was, it’s his first time to get that kind of offer. Now Joon was really getting interesting.

He lost his mood earlier but now Joon’s getting his attention again.

“Sure? If that’s what you want.” he replied thinking that agreeing to his offer will make him feel relieved.

“R-really?” Joon’s face lit up. “One moment then, please excuse me sir.”

He hurried and got out of the room leaving him alone and confused.

A minute has passed and nothing was happening.

He was about to stand up when Joon came back carrying a small backpack.

He was rushing in while digging something inside the backpack, he found him so adorable again.

“What’s that?”

He asked when Joon offered a tshirt.

“Here sir. This is my extra shirt. You might be uncomfortable with that.”

Now Trusselle just realized that he’s starting to feel cold because of just wearing a tanktop.

“Are you sure?” he asked Joon but still took the shirt.

It was so soft that he can feel by just touching it.

“I’ll make sure to give this back to you tomorrow.” Joon promised once he got the jacket.

“Well wait..” Trusselle called his attention when he saw him readying himself to go. “Did I tell you to go now?”

He found Joon cute as the latter looked confused why he stopped him from going.

How can a tall guy looked so adorable and small at the same time?

“You know what, this frappe is good.”

Trusselle admitted pointing at the frappe.

“You’re a barista here?”

Joon nodded while his eyes were on his jacket, now holding it with his two hands and checking the stain.

“I usually don’t visit this store and I like that you can make good frappe? Are new you new here?” he asked demanding for an answer.

He slung the shirt on his shoulder while waiting for an answer, he wanted his attention but Joon was too focused on the jacket now.

“Yes s-sir. I was hired last month.”

As expected he just gave a short reply.

“You’re back with your short responses. Anyway go ahead, you can go now.” Trussele replied in defeat.

“Thank you sir Trusselle.” Joon bent his body over before leaving.

“Hey one second!” he was already at the doorframe when Trusselle almost raised his voice to stop him.

“Until what time are you working?”

“Until 6 in the evening.”

“Great. Tomorrow I’ll wait for you. Do you know the park near here? I will be there before 6. Meet me there after your shift and don’t forget my jacket. Okay?” Trusselle made sure to get a yes and the other just nodded.

He was taken aback when he saw Joon’s smile for the first time.
